Exactly, dueling is clearly the best sport.

Do you want to be a duelist someday or do you just want to watch?

Well, it's hard to say if any of these are the best, because they're all nice in their own way; but personally, broom racing is my favorite, for numerous reasons (the people, symbolism for my character; getting to collect and name new brooms, and give them personalities- like do you have any idea how fun it is to get a broom and make it into a whole other character essentially??) but the big one being: it was the closest I could get to a Main Story thread "feel" without actually being involved in a main story thread. After the MS was dropped, my appeal for the sport grew immensely. I like puzzles, I like monsters, I like overcoming obstacles, and I especially love the camaraderie that grows with having to solve each new problem. Broom racing isn't about one person, it is about a whole team coming together under one goal.

Quidditch and Duelling are more like tiny cults, and cliques (DON'T COME AFTER ME, I've seen the sacrifices you guys make to Tatsu, you all know it's true :disgusted: don't look at me like that, Ravenclaw), whereas broom racing teams are like a small family. And it shows! How often do broom racers lose members? Not often. Everyone has their moment to shine, be it through casting a spell, pummeling the crap out of a unsuspecting first year with a rock, or successfully pushing through to the next part on the track. Everyone plays an important role. That said, you don't have to overly rely on any one person either, which can be a good thing- unlike in dueling, where if a partner is down, you're more than likely going down with them too.

Also like, broom racing is the best of both worlds, in terms of broom riding and spell casting. So yeah, quidditch and duelling are great but... try casting a spell while going 150 on a broom. Go on. 🐤

In conclusion: Quidditch and Duelling are pulling the lead (and don't get me wrong, they have the right to!) simply because they were the first to be introduced and are the most talked about. They are very cool and nice sports. But, they lack a lot of the complexity, and room for interesting dynamics that comes with broom racing. Broom racing is one of those things you need to try first- don't knock it right away!

Thank you for reading my essay (if you were crazy enough to read it). To the quidditch players and duellist: you all are very cool, stay chilly. To the broom racers reading along: do I really need to say anything? You guys know what's up. 😉

Before me, you rightly tremble. But, fear is not what you owe me. You owe me awe....

Yeah, but the sacrifices to Tatsu are more of a joke. Or so I think anyways. I’ve never actually done any of that though, just saying. And if you’re about to challenge Dave to cast a spell while going 150 on a broom, then challenge accepted. Dave is getting a Silver Arrow later this year (I already have 50 Galleons saved up) and now that you’ve brought it up, he’s definitely going to do that just to show that he can. I’ll do all the necessary rolls too and if you don’t want me to cheat, feel free to do the rolls for me. Once I do that though, it’ll be Dave’s first 16 ArcPower Flipendo so that’s nice. Also, your essay was very well written.
