Questions about Lessons
I used the field of potion making because certain potions need a certain time for them to be ready. (An example is the polyjuice potion ingredient, fluxweed, only able to be picked on a full moon).Lyanna Oak wrote: 12 Jan 2025, 01:23I mean like the actual thing you use them for, like the wolfsbane potion, the zodiac signs, etc...Louisa McStately wrote: 12 Jan 2025, 01:21Not exactly sure what you mean… I’m pretty sure there are only four fields of astronomy so yes you could use one of the four. (Please correct me if I am wrong!)Lyanna Oak wrote: 11 Jan 2025, 11:22 Hi, I have a question about the first lesson of Astronomy.
In question one it says:
Can you use examples from the lessons, or would that be copying and/or plagiarizing? Because that is not noted. Thanks in advance!1) Write a 50 word roleplay about a wizard/witch in one of the four fields of magic using Astronomy in their study. /4

Questions about Lessons
I'm glad you all are so helpful to each other!
To answer Lyanna's question, and to clarify any potential misunderstandings: there are (at least) four different fields or areas of magical study that rely on knowledge of astronomy. Specifically, herbology, care of magical creatures, potions and divination. One could argue that astronomy come in useful for others as well.
You can always use examples from within the lessons to write your RP answers! We write them into the lessons to give you guys writing inspiration! You don't have to use them if you don't want to, of course. My only ask, for RP in lessons, is that you guys try to write creatively! Tell me a story that's cute or fun or even sad or full of danger!
So, Lyanna, wolfsbane potion is a perfect example of using astronomy in a field of magic. Using astrological signs might be something a wizard into divination would do, so another good example. Tracey brought up certain magical creatures, which is another good example.
As far as wizarding world resources go, Avery brings up the wiki. That and the Wizarding World website are good resources. There are also some books that are also good resources, especially those published by Mugglenet. For questions about astronomy, Wikipedia is perfectly fine; and you can also use a book about astronomy from your library.

Questions about Lessons
So I have a doubt regarding this same question:Are we supposed to write exactly 50 words or can I make an rp of more than 50 words? Like 100 words or something.1) Write a 50 word roleplay about a wizard/witch in one of the four fields of magic using Astronomy in their study.
The mind replays what the heart can't delete.
Questions about Lessons
You can write more words, just not less.
