hello hehe.. this probably not like.. life changing or anything but is it possible to add more text alignment for coding aesthetic purposes? we currently have align left, alight right, centre, and justify with last line left aligned.
With possible tba : full justify, justify with last line right aligned, and justify with last line centre aligned.
just a little weird suggestion hehe okai bye

I think it can technically be solved by doing it one's self, since so many end up figuring out how to make things aesthetically pleasing anyway, even if it's tedious.

Your request is not possible with mobile safe devices. Players doing a work around with the tables has created messes in many encyclopedias (they look great on specific devices but not on all devices since some browers make things different too). You last line is different from other last lines depending on the device and the browser used, so a centering of the last line on a cellphone would be super different from a PC also. the same element happens in things like justify as well.

I like the idea of their being admin positions in the Ministry of Magic, for example, the Head of the Department of Mysteries or the Head of Magical Law Enforcement something like that.

I have several ideas:
1) Creation of timetable for all the students of all the courses. It'll really help with RP as sometimes it's cool to mention character's previous lessons and future ones. In this case the same timetable for everybody will help students understand RP better.
2) Creating some character from School Staff who will be a NPC. So, we'll be able to use them in our RPs when we want to have our characters catched doing something illegal.
3) Some music. Huh, the site has an amazing pictures on different pages, but lack of music is a rather sad fact.

1) We have one of these specifically for Astronomy in the Astronomy forum, but other than that we wanted to let people have freedom to roleplay here.Nick Jackson wrote: 10 Dec 2023, 08:23 I have several ideas:

2) All the staff are PCs, who can catch you anytime. You can always reach out to staffmembers and ask if they have time to catch you!
3) This would have to be done by Zach Winslow, the creator of the site. I also think that this would get different reactions, I for example quite like the absence of music. The site would probably not run as well if there was music, plus I'd find it disrupting while writing.

1) Yes, of course, I understand that freedome is the aim of everybody) But our characters are not free. Basically I think that timetable for all the lessons and all the years and all the Houses can help us rp. Look, if I opened a rpg about some of the lessons and mentioned previous lesson but my opponent had other ideas about the previous lesson. For example, in the biginning a boy can mention his character is dirty wanting to explane why later(because the previous lesson was care of magical creatures) and then a girl said that their previous lesson was Potions. And if they are from the same houses they couldn't have different timetable so the boy need to create a new situation why is his character dirty. And also there are some days like first school day at Hogwarts and a person can have different rps about the day with totally different timetables! That's wrong, don't you think? Also I don't think it can really destroy any freedome to players it just create something more real for them.
2) Yes, I know. But, first, I don't think the Professors have enough time to check all the stories out of millions of messages looking for illegal actions. It asking them for it is also difficult as they're busy, maybe (checking our homeworks). Well, it mb wrong but I believe it fonna make playing some rps much easier and more interesting.
3) Yeah, I agree it's not cool for everybody... But I'm sure that there'll be a part of people who will listen to it

Let's say we created a time table and posted it in a forum- there will be people, a lot of people who won't see this. That means every time someone posts a claim that they were in a class, prefects and professors would have to check the timetable and if necessary moderate those posts. We are roleplaying in a school setting, classes are mentioned a lot, so the extra workload this would create is no small deal.
In regards to classes we look at two things at the moment, next to the usual rules.
1- People would not be attending classes with people from a higher or lower year.
2- First and second years would not have any of the elective classes (Muggle Studies, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Ancient Runes).
A timetable could be a discussion for the future, but is currently not a priority.
2) Staff are not only Professors, they are also Assistants and Prefects. We have more than 30 staffmembers on site.
3) An idea would be to just listen to Harry Potter themed youtube or spotify playlists here. I do that sometimes, there are a lot of good ones.

Okay thank you. Well in my opinion it'd be better to add it in the entrance hall, so user will see all the timetable after entering the site. As for the other points, well, firstly, I don't think creating an extra stuff member is a big problem. It takes no resources but will give people an opportunity to ahve more fun. I don't disagree that rping with real stuff members is cool but people still need some, idk, opportunities to select... Because as for, for example, I don't know who to ask to catch me) and that's the problem... And finally, well, okay, good advice.

I think the main thing to consider for that point is that we are not aiming to be a simulation game here, but an RP site. The point of Hio is not to make the perfect matrix world where you get to walk around with your character and fully experience the “realism” behind Hogwarts. The point is to provide a setting, a forum, for us players to imagine ourselves in through our shared creative outlet: writing. The site gives us a nice bonus of being a beautifully designed site, and for a lot of people this seems to trigger the need for every minute detail to be present as well. It raises the standard, I guess.
From timetables to all the items you should be able to buy in shops (a popular demand I personally link with simulation stuff). These things would only affect the mod work, as Opeila mentioned above. I will not reiterate her point, but I will try to make it clear that by leaving it a blank for us, we don't have to check what kind of schedule you are RPing. That's the thing, you're free to RP all this. If you want a rigorous schedule and be able to mention that this morning you had to sit through History of Magic and were now sprinting through the halls to try and not miss Herbology, that's fine. It won't impact us in any way that you mention that. And you still get to write it the way you wanted to, the same way it would have been if we had written down a timetable and forced it upon you.
So the overarching issue I have with a suggestion like this (not that there is anything wrong with it, and you are welcome to ask/discuss), is that simulation is simply not the goal. And personally, it never should become the goal. The more we try to simulate this site into a game for everyone, the less we will inspire to write, to think about the world.
Consider also that the people behind the professor accounts, the actual players that have become staff to mod homework and their classes, are not meant to be real professors. They are mods for an integrated feature that provides a system of immersion for a setting focused around students attending a magical school. So why should they sit around a table and figure out a way all their classes fit together into one schedule? They are first and foremost accepted into staff to do mod work, and therefore we look at this from a mod perspective. Which, I'm sorry to say, is just unnecessary extra work (modding whether everyone follows the schedule) that just narrows down the playing field for players (you're not free any more to make up what class you just attended).
