You can join summer camp, IC it will start the first of August but OOC you can already join and make threads if your character is going to camp. You can find some more information here

If you want you are also allowed to forward date your threads to the beginning of your first year at Hogwarts:

Forward Dating is the process of writing roleplays ahead of the present date. Users can roleplay up to 1 month ahead of the present time. For instance, if it is Oct. 3, you can start a thread that is forward dated as far ahead as November 3. The exception to this is during the summer months, from the start of the Summer Holiday, players can roleplay up to 2 months ahead. So, on July 1, you can roleplay if you choose that it is Sept. 1.

You can consider what special ability Lisa might have, or, if you'd like her to be a special race (like half-Goblin or Werewolf), consider those as well.

There are a lot of fellow first years who are writing their "Journey to Hogwarts" threads on the train or doing some shopping threads in Diagon Alley. Please feel free to read those and see kind of how things work!
