If you want that 'First year' title to change under your photo, you'll have to finish the homework. Not all of the homework is out yet, but I think you can work on it while it's still being released and be considered.

FAQ — Questions
you have to have been on the website for 10 days and gotten 20 messages done. I suggest you do all your messages in the games room since it's really easy to do 20 games. After that you will have to hover over your picture in the corner and look down to see report card. After that you may do the homework set for you.Lia Flammilia wrote: 18 Jun 2020, 18:22Reid Kovacs wrote: 26 May 2018, 15:25Ami Procoppio wrote:Do you have to finish all of the lectures/homework in order to move on to the second year?If you're registered by September of this year, you move onto Year 2, roleplay wise and are considered as such. FAQ — Questions
That quote from Reid Kovacs is 2 years old. Players are moving up to year 2 in their profiles after July 2, the end of the school year. It is announced on every forum of the site as a global announcement. To move onto year 2, you need to be registered in Index with your stats and abilities by July 1. For those that do not wish to move onto the next year yet because they wish to enjoy the full-year experience, please contact your Head of House.

You can only apply for a race when you are in year 1.May Moonstar wrote: 26 Jun 2020, 22:48 If I want to apply for a race when my character is in 2nd year, I can? Or is it just in 1st year that you can apply for this?
If you apply for a race, you only get to choose an ability every other year, the other abilities depend on the race.
FAQ — Questions
To further elaborate, we do have a rule regarding picking your race during your first month of roleplay on the site. This is because being a certain race is really core to your character. Suddenly becoming a Veela after roleplaying for several months for instance would greatly alter your character's interaction with other users. We do not allow race changes because it would make no sense. Since we are primarily a roleplay site and not an MMO, we do not have a stat scramble button to change everything up ad lib. Your player being physically weak or magically inclined is and should be a relevant part of your in character experience. This would be reflected in moderated situations that help shape your character and mark your experience. Suddenly having a strength of 1 after having a strength of 15 for instance would be a significant change in your character's dynamic. Each year you will get additional stats as your character grows that you can allocate to different areas to reflect your character's development. For instance you might have a 'sickly child' with low strength and stamina to reflect their constitution but as they get older perhaps they become fitter and you would invest a few stats into those areas tyo reflect this change in your character.
Also, it is our goal that no player is 'good at everything' because in a multiplayer setting such as thing we all get to be the protagonist of our own stories so need to be special and unique.

FAQ — Questions
Yes, I understand that sudden changes would be a lot of work and little sense. Thank you for such a good explanation.

FAQ — Questions
Hi! I have noticed that in the At the Counter section in the Leaky Cauldron, there are a lot of shops that allow students to provide art/code/etc. to other students, and was thinking of beginning a shop of my own there as well. Are there any restrictions to this, and what type of shop I can have? Thanks, Elodie.

I don't think there are any restrictions for this, Elodie. Just keep it in to site rules and that's it!Elodie Nyangui wrote: 1 Jul 2020, 23:45 Hi!
