@Scarlett Aden, @Lucia Fox, when I use transparent bars, it is because I can't already size the picture how i want it. So like on my first page, I kept cropping and resizing all of the photos so I did not need to use transparent bars.

However, as people know, you can't always get eveything perfect. So transparent bars help a lot. I find when using them, always try it in either 5s, 10s, or 2s. In the end it always works. I first start out with doing 40 and then decrease or increase from there. Firstly taking off 10, if the picture is now to big I add on 5 more. If it is two small I remove another ten.

Once I get it to a good size but not the perfect size I take two off and see what it looks like. Go back to the original one that looks alright and then add two. If those don't work try adding just 3 more bars and then try taking 3 more off.

Examples:

Reducio

Picture is really big

1. 40 bars:
========================================

2. take 5 off:
===================================

3. if it's too small take another 5 bars off:
==============================

4.It's now too big so add another 2 bars on:
================================

It's now perfect for me.

Do this exactly the same until it's nearly perfect and then try it with the 2 bars either way. So if it is still small at 45 keep taking off 5 bars until it gets too big and then do the rest from from step 4 until its perfect.

@Lucia Fox, Yes it wastes time doing it like that but I find it a lot more practical than just guessing every time. It also does take up space on the device however anything under 40 is hardly seen. Above 50 bars means that there will be a visible gap between the photo and the quote above or quote below which is quite annoying.

@Lily Cawthi, It is something to do with coding and tables. It helps resize the photos from being either really big or really small to the right size. Once you get the hang of it, it is actually really easy.
