oh i totally agree with that!! (especially horror games bc im a baby) but for me personally it means a lot to be able to sit down and play dragon quest 9 and enjoy all the content because i know i paid $20 for the game 10 years ago but i am getting all twenty dollars worth >:(
_{plus for dq9 if u had a high level friend they could join ur game and clear everything for you and i really need that sometimes :[}

Ugh! That was something I did all the time with horror games. But after listening to playthroughs in the background I built up immunity to them - that and my ma is a big horror fan so she managed to gently nudge me into the genre over the years

Kinda superficially the same for me with H.io - I'm detached from HP at this point but love the community here and learning about the world and stuff. Also helps me learn to take my time with writing and manage it in smaller chunks

yepppp im in the same boat!!! i dont think ive even cared abt hp for YEARS now but i still love hio :] im sure if jkr wasnt one of the worst human beings on earth i would interact with it as a community more but i cant because id rather die than support her LOL

I'll spare the political stuff but as someone who's now doing an English degree and has had focused creative writing experience, I will say this - Going back and reading some of the books (the later ones in particular) I do have a few things I could complain about - character motifs and layers of the worldbuilding irk me in places. That and the amount of exposition that's just delivered rather than through depth.
