”Pip, that's a cool name!”, he said, his eyes sparkling. He wanted to get himself a pet too, however his parents said he needed to be thirteen before they would even consider allowing him to take responsibility for another being.
Alan smiled at Nico and Alex, nervously, when they invited him to tag along. He wondered who this Alex character was, he never actually met him but he wanted to get to know the both of them. Yet he had other stuff to do and did not want to keep them waiting, so he wildly shook his head.
”You two would have to go alone Ma-something and the former head girl are... Like I still have something that belongs to them so I need to wait and give it back to them!”, he explained and raised the book, drenched in muddy water from the Great Lake and the box of pizza. ”I wish the both of you fun though and I hope I'll see you around in the Common Rooms or our dorm at one point, Alex! And you Nico keep your head up and don't listen to people like Donnovan!”, he said with a sheepish grin, tugging at his lips, flashing a row of teeth.

Alan was excited about Pip, he couldn't take his eyes of him. He refused her request to join both her and Alex back to the Blossom Ball Dancefloor. He spoke of having to help out the other students, aswell as Serena. Nico glanced over at the group who were in for a rough fight. If she weren't this tired, she would've definitely offered to help out. But she had faith in Alan and Serena. She was sure that they'd look out for each other.
"Oh, it seems like something is going on over there..." Alex said.
'O-Okey, Alan. Be careful, okey? I'll see you around.' Nico smiled softly, happy that they could talk, even for just a little while. 'I'll make sure I won't be hurt like this again!' The last thing she wanted was to get in a crying fit again. Her eyes still stung a bit from all the tears she'd shed. She waved at him carefully before following Alex.
Apparantly something was going on at the dancefloor. The lights have become brighter for sure, strange. Nico was sure they didn't look so bright before. It became noisey too. Were they playing some sort of weird game? A dancing game maybe? Nico couldn't help but think about positive things. The light seemed rather inviting but... something seemed off. She couldn't put her finger on it. Only her gutfeeling made her worry.
"Lets go and check it out, the drinks are there anyway"
Alex was very eager to check out what was going on. Nico didn't know him, only his name. A stranger that stopped her from getting bullied by a mere Huffelpuff. She saw the excitement in Alex' eyes. His green... dreamy eyes...
He was still quite a mystery to her, but for some reason, he made her feel safe. Probably the fact that he stood up for her but also his confident presence. He seemed to know what he was doing... Nico blushed softly and walked close to him, back to the dancefloor. With him by her side, she felt more energised. Mind you, the Slytherin was tired but... this indescribable feeling kept her steady on her feet. Carefully, she held grip onto his sleeve, all the way back.

Back to where they came from, the way back seemed much quicker than the way to the dance floor. She mentioned before that she didn't know what a butter beer was, and just like it hit him as a surprise, it might happen to her in a similar way, who knows maybe she'll like it too. He looked around, trying to recall where exactly they hid that stash, making sure that Nico is still with him, he'd reassure her that they're almost there.
"Ah!"
In mild excitement he remembered the location, he would then move directly to it, it was a bit isolated from the major groups of people that were at the lake, much much closer to the shore itself, there was a large rock near the edge, they used it to cover the hole they stashed the bottles into, almost like a treasure. They arrived there, he pushed the rock slightly out of the way, that thing was heavy, it took him some effort to make it move. Under it, a very clear pit, a very small one but a pit nonetheless. He'd shove his hand in and retrieve a bottle of the orengish liquid. He opened the lid and handed it to nico
"There you go, one for you"
He shoved his hand again and pulled another one, he felt that there were more in there but the one he pulled was a lighter than the previous one for sure, as he started pulling it out he noticed, it was empty, apparently someone already drank that one and put the bottle back. He let go of it, it made clanks of glass touching, then ruffled around a bit more in there and got another one, that one was brand new just like the one he handed nico.
"Ah, there we go, and one more me"
He put it aside for a moment and re-positioned himself to push the rock back to reseal his stash. He opened the lid of his own and looked at her
"Common, try it, its pretty good"
He encouraged her to try it and took a swig of the orange liquid himself, it had this sweet butterscotch-like flavor to it, much like liquid candy. Though, again, he started getting distracted, this time he didn't have any sort of plan in mind, he got what he wanted, he got the pretty girl her drink, though now he had to figure out what's next, he knew that they shouldn't drink too much of this stuff, otherwise they'd get dizzy like what happened last time, he'd rather avoid that, they were having fun after all.
"Hmm, maybe we could just... Go on a walk near the lake? Yeah, that could be nice, just have a nice chat, get her mind off of that hufflebuff kid"
He would smile once more as their eyes got locked, he would look away, this time towards the distance along the shoreline of the lake
"H-hey, do you want to have a walk near the lake? Its kinda nice outside and..."
He didn't know how to continue the sentence without making a fool of himself, he might be confident around other kids, but somehow he lost a bit of it around her, at least in this sort of a situation, he wasn't use to it, in fact, he never got into it to begin with. All he wanted to say was that he just wants to spend some time with her but he couldn't form it into words, her eyes were so distracting and pretty but mostly distracting!
"Um, I think it'd be fun"
Not one of his best lines but its something, at the very least he managed to convey the idea in some form instead of locking himself out all together.

When she peeked over her shoulder for the last time, she could've sworn she had seen a glimpse of an angry Professor. Because of the smoke and flames, she couldn't tell who it was. Her mind was abit hazy. The sounds of the crowd of kids screaming became softer. Nico sighed softly and pondered for abit as she and Alex made their way to the Lake again. Those kids... They were gonna be fine, right? Especially since there's... probably a professor with them now. Where had Professor Solomon gone though? She hadn't seen him in the chaos. Maybe he was there. Afterall, the smoke made it hard for people to be seen. For a second her eyes widened abit. She was a Prefect.. D-Did she... Should she have..
She looked up at Alex as he guided her carefully. His blonde hair moving by the wind, his warm voice speaking to her now and then, reassuring her they were almost there. Feelings of guilt that were starting to grow, faded away when he looked her way. She forgot the Flaming Ball and what could've been her responsibilities. She just wanted a quiet night. Just for once.
Suddenly Alex ran to a big rock on the shore, full of excitement. Nico followed him, but it took her a little more time to get there. On the shore, with pure muscle, Alex shoved the rock a tad to the side. To say the least, Nico was impressed. As he performed what he was capable of strengthwise, she looked at her arms and hands. No way that she'd be able to push something that big aside that easily. Why was he moving it? Was... he trying to impress her? Because it worked.
Nope.
He bended down, reaching his hand in a small hole, filled with bottles. A-a treasure? A... glass treasure? He handed her a bottle. 'O-Oh. Thank you.' It felt cold in her hands. A shiver ran down her spine, feeling the sand on the bottle . It shouldn't be there. It felt gross... As Alex digged in the hole for a bottle for himself, Nico briskly rubbed the sand off with her hands. She loved the sea and all that. But sand was something she wasn't fond of. Especially if it's in places where it shouldn't be.
After he put the rock back in its original position he got up and opened his bottle.
"Common, try it, its pretty good"
Still unsure, she watched Alex take a sip. Carefully observing the Gryffindors face, to see any frown or cringe to the taste of the beer. He seemed to quite enjoy it, so how bad could it be? She looked back at the bottle and slowely took a sip. It tasted sweeter than she had expected. She sighed softly, feeling how much she needed something to drink. She hadn't thought she'd be drinking butter beer though. Maybe she could send a few bottles to her father sometime.
'I-It tastes pretty good. I didn't expect it to taste this way, honestly.' She smiled softly, holding the bottle with both hands. Looking at him, she blushed a little. As soon as she did, she quickly kept the bottle in her gaze. Why did it feel weird that he'd watch her drink? What even..? She shook her head softly and took another sip, strategically looking away, too embarassed to casually drink in front of him.
"H-hey, do you want to have a walk near the lake? Its kinda nice outside and..."
Slightly surprised by him breaking the silence she gazed back at him, gently locking the bottle against her chest with her hands. His emerald eyes shimmered slightly as the moon shone bright tonight. Her heart seemed to beat faster than usual. It was weird, it felt weird, she wasn't sure what to make of it. The Slytherin had no choice but to deal with them and go with the flow.
"Um, I think it'd be fun"
Fun? Nico looked over at the shoreline and the lake. There was but only a breeze, it wasn't cold out. It was warm enough, like a thin blanket, keeping you warm enough. But.. maybe something else was keeping her warm..
She smiled at him, a soft blush resting on her cheeks. 'Sure. I love this area. Never saw it after dark though... So..' Still holding the bottle, Nico walked by him, already stepping abit ahead. Turning around as she walked backwards. 'Let's have a look shall we?' She tilted her head.

Alex was washed with releaved that she liked the drink, he didn't have any doubts really, he liked it himself from the first sip too, but everyone likes different things. She then clutched her bottle against her chest as she considered whether or not she'd go with him on that walk, her small smile, her shy blush and that cute posture took him by surprise, he didn't know how to handle that sort of thing she he averted his gaze once more, blushing a little himself. She agreed to walk with him, he wasn't exactly sure why he was happy to hear that, it made sense after all that they would be going out on that walk, it was nice out, the scenery was beautiful, the lake making small ripply waves and distorting the reflection of the moon just added to it even more.
She mentioned that she never saw the place after dark, it wasn't surprising, normally they weren't allowed to leave the castle grounds late in the evening or even at night, but admittedly Alex snuck out on occasion to the lake, he liked to sit by it from time to time and drift into various thoughts. Though now he had company, it was different, this whole night in fact was different. She then skipped a bit ahead and turned around, saying that she'd like to have a look at something, Alex looked around for a bit, a bit confused by the statement.
"Look at-- Oh, oh okay. Yeah"
His confusion was cleared, she just wanted to look around the lake. He took another swig of his butter beer.
"Um, so you're a prefect? Whats that like?"
He had nothing better to ask, he didn't know anything about her besides that fact and she's the other slytherin he knew besides Erin. He did was curious what kind of response she'd give him, though that felt a bit more idle than he'd have hoped. He took another swig of his butter beer, its sweetness was filling his mouth, giving him an even better association to that night than before. He would think it over for a moment, he would let her say her piece and once she did, he'd switch the subject.
"Um, so, there's a party going on out there, but I doubt that we'd have anything to do there... Still, maybe you and I... Could, um... Dance?"
He asked her to dance with him, in a million years he didn't expect himself to utter those words to anyone, he never danced before either but he have seen it in movies before, a guy dancing with a girl, it felt right but a bit awkward still just as those words escaped his lips, not sure what to do with that he decided that whatever it is, he'll just go along with it.

"Um, so you're a prefect? Whats that like?"
Prefect. Right. Something she kind of wanted to forget for a moment. She looked down at the sand as they casually walked. Thinking about how to fully answer his question, she took another sip, bringing the bottle with both hands to her lips.
'Prefect... It ehm... Well, ...' She cleared her throat and watched the ripples of the lake. 'It... It's fun, really. Except, you.. You saw.. Donnovan..' She frowned as she said that name. 'He..He and Ruka, they were both the first kids I gave detention too. The only ones for now.' She looked at his feet. 'I wasn't too hard on them, really. I just .. did my job.' Sighing, she took another sip. 'Prefects are there to... Keep the peace. To... Steer them in the right way. You are supposed to guide them...' The more she said it, the more she thought about the Ball being on fire. It made her feel bad. She didn't live up to do her job.
'It's an important job. It has to be taken seriously. And.. I'm not sure if I'm doing a great job at this point..' She felt the need to cry again, but held back. No more crying. Not tonight. Instead she took another big sip of the bottle. It tasted sweeter with every sip. It kept her warm and suddenly something wiggled from behind her hair. It was Pip, peeking through her hair at the Gryffindor boy, hiding behind her scarf. It was invisible to Alex, her hair was the perfect hideout to observe him. He didn't seem like a threat, for now. The Pygmy Puff had fallen asleep earlier in the comfort of her fluffy hair.
"Um, so, there's a party going on out there, but I doubt that we'd have anything to do there... Still, maybe you and I... Could, um... Dance?"
She stopped in her tracks, face turning completely red. It was even more vibrant compared to the blue of her dress. This whole night she had been looking forward to maybe have a dance with Kaegen. But that turned out differently. And.. this. This Prince asked her to dance with him. Right here by the water. She swallowed quietly, nervously holding onto the glass bottle.
She hadn't really danced before, except with her father. He learned her to waltz, sort of. But she wasn't used to it. She would stand on the tip of her father toes and let him guide her. That's.. the dance experience she has. And ofcourse, when she danced by herself in her room. Or whenever there was no one around.
'I-..' Immediately, she tried to clear her throat. Her voice sounded alot higher than she wanted to. It was embarassing to say the least. She looked up at him, shyly, her eyes looking away from time to time. 'S-Sure...' She said as she brushed a part of her hair behind her ear. 'I-I'm not used to dancing with a partner th-though..' She tried to breathe calmly, her heart beating at a faster pace. Pip felt it, his eyes glistening from in between her hairs. If this boy tried anything weird, he'd engage.

She expressed her frustration towards her job and some guy called Donnovan, Alex wasn't sure who that was, but apparently he got involved with her in some way and got on her bad side, quite vividly. Her pink puff ball peaked over her shoulder, moving its nose as if sniffing the air though it was very clearly looking at Alex. Though then she accepted his request for a dance, he kind of hoped she didn't but also was glad she did.
"Neither am I, you'll be my first... I bet that we can figure it out together"
He was trying to recall what happened next on one of those muggle movies, they should get closer and then grab each other... No, there was a specific way they did it, one hand on the back, the other holding her's, that sounded more right. He slowly advanced towards her, he got fairly close and then extended his hand to have her to hold, he would then wrap his other hand around and place it on her lower back. It felt right, but he was getting nervous, not sure what he was doing, he figured that now they were supposed to move
"Okay"
He whispered to himself as sort of a sign that they were supposed to begin, he moved one of his legs towards her while moving her hand forward as well as if to guide her to step back, then taking the other foot back to complete the turn to his right. His balance was kind of poor, he wasn't sure he was doing it right, but it sort of worked, sort of, though. If they didn't crash at that point or him accidentally stepping on her foot, he would now start rotating in the same direction again just as they've done before, the more turns the complete successfully, the easier it'd get, though of course were they to plummet then they'd find each other facing one another on the floor, at which case Alex would get off of her after a moment of awkwardness and help her up, trying to dance again. If they wouldn't have fallen then they'd continue the dance for a while longer.

Apparantly the Prince had never danced before. That would be rather interesting. Still unsure she waited for him to approach her. As he carefully held her in his embrace, his hand holding hers, she thought of the many scenes from the animated movies she saw. Aswell as the instructions her father gave. But was that really something she could rely on? Her father had always been sort of a goof and joked about. Dad, why can't you teach me stuff that I can really use...?
As he rested his hand on her lower back, she gently placed her hand on his shoulder. She looked down at his chest, her blue eyes looked brighter as her face burned bright red. She hadn't ever been this close to someone before. Especially a boy. A... handsome...boy. A Prince with golden locks... And emerald, dreamy green eyes. Wh- Her gaze had drifted back up to his face. She felt warm all over, her hands probably felt sweaty. She started to panic.
"Okay"
He attempted to guide her, setting a step closer to her. She tried to back away but the tip of his shoe caught her foot. She felt it, the tension where she didn't have the time to use her other leg to keep her balance. 'Nyii!' Nico squeeked loud, gripping tightly onto Alex' shoulder as she felt his body push her down, by accident. The ground came closer to her at a fast pace. She knew she had no way of keep herself up. She pinched her eyes closed, desperately clinging onto Alex, somehow thinking that would keep her standing.
Oof. Together, they dropped on the sand. For a moment, Nico hadn't realised they actually were.. on the ground. The fall had seemed to last forever. Slowely, she opened her eyes and noticed her nose was buried in the Prince his hair. He smelled... nice. WAIT. HE-
Nico had nowhere to go, she got stuck under the deadweight of the Gryffindor.
'U-Uhm...' She swallowed softly, averting her gaze. Her eyes checking on him, if he moved at all. A. Boy. Was. Laying. On. Top. Of. Her.

“You’re loss dude!” The older student shouted in Howard’s direction. Not the reaction he had expected. Deep down inside, the beast was hungry, fueled by anger and alcohol it lashed out at the older students for no apparent reason. Any other student Howard’s age would have jumped with joy having been invited by older students to hang out and party, especially when a couple of them were pretty girls. However, Howard was not a typical thirteen year old. His subconscious wanted a fight. Wanted any reason to unleash his rage and more importantly his power. With a shrug he polished off the last bottle of butter beer and looked towards Thomas.
The other boy must have fallen asleep standing up like a cow. He just stood there, possibly still relieving himself into the lake. He didn’t speak, he didn’t move, he turned to stone. Thomas had shown up drunk to ruin his quiet evening alone, and now was a drunken liability Howard now had to deal with. He was an angry boy but not necessarily evil. Taking a few steps into the water he would wrap his arm around Thomas and attempt to guide him to the lake shore. If successful, Howard would find him a nice comfortable place to sleep off the excess of butter beer and leave him. If still nothing prevented his departure, Howard would stroll back over to the stash of butter beer to attempt and steal another.

Serena's spell successfully hit the older student that she was aiming for. She would likely get in trouble for using magic, especially given that a prefect was present but that was a problem for another day. For now, her worries grew more. The older student started to laugh but he refused to let go off Edric. His grip on him tightened, it seemed. Serena's eyes widened as she witnessed the former Slytherin prefect fall unconscious, hitting the ground below him. "ENRIC!" Serena called out, getting his name wrong because she still could not recall if it was 'Enric' or something else.
The situation had turned far more dire than she had hoped. Pizza did not settle this.
She almost rushed forward to try and help him when she saw a pair of feet step over him and towards her. The Hufflepuff raised her eyes from Edric to the offender. "I-" She started, knowing full well that he was likely very angry at her. Oh God, she was going to get beaten up again wasn't she? He was going to hit her too, wasn't he? Oh god, this was like the night of the camp out all over again. The Hufflepuff stared him for a moment, no words coming out of her mouth as she hesitated to speak. She was scared, of course she was.
But she had been standing here once before. The camp out did not take place too far from here... It was around this very spot that she almost died. Once already. What was the worst this guy would do? Punch her? That would be better than what happened before... A lot better. "I did. You deserved it." She replied in a firm voice that she did not even recognise being her own, "From the way Marcia hit you, you clearly took something of hers without permission and now you're here, attacking people younger than you? Is this how you get your kicks? By bullying people smaller than you? Do you feel like a big strong man now?" She replied, her voice laced with angry and sarcasm. She was unimpressed. He was asserting his dominance over them by physically being stronger than them. Serena knew she was screwed if he brought magic into this too. He was likely much more skilled than they were. His age gave him an advantage that the second years did not have: it gave him more experience. "Now step away from him," Serena ordered as she tried to get past the older student to check on Edric.
If the bully allowed her to get passed, she would quickly do so and try and check if Edric was okay by kneeling down beside him and gently shaking him. Serena had no idea what happened to him. Was he just unconscious or worse? She would check if he was breathing and try to wake him by calling his name ('Enric') and asking if he could hear her.
