November felt Green go still beneath him, then froze, pulled back a bit, suddenly shy. He felt his cheeks heat, and suddenly found himself very entranced and focused on the countryside that sped by outside of his window, a blur of brilliant greens and autumn golds.

However, his gaze darted back to Green as he spoke again. "You've never had curry? Really? Oh goodness, I've got to make it for you! It's not that hard, not really, at least, if you get the curry sauce from out of a jar..." He'd tried to make his own once, with rather messy results, but it had tasted alright. Far easier to pull it from a jar, though.

"I suppose I should get another one of these.... Been on a losing streak, I do hope my luck turns 'round..." he chuckled, pulling a dark brown bean from the bag. He didn't think he really minded losing that much, though, Green puffed up with joy every time he won, and he kind of liked singing for him.

Speaking of, it seemed this was the next dare as well as the first. "Alright, I suppose I'll have to think of another song... Did you like the last one? I could do another one by them..." he smiled, cocked his head.

Green swallowed, following his gaze in awkward silence. But the awkwardness slowly melted away, and he felt something unfurl in his chest as he peered into the shadows between the trees, imagining shapes.

He looked back at November in surprised. "The sauce comes in jars? I've only dipped in and out of grocery stores fairly quickly, and I've never really looked in the sauces section. The jar would have been incriminating - father despises muggle things, when he knows they're muggle - and if I put it into something less conspicuous, it probably would have ended up in a cauldron," he huffed, rolling his eyes. "I'd love to try it, though, should we somehow get the chance." He smiled at him warmly, eyes cat-slitted.

Green sniffed at the bean as November pulled it out; sometimes that gave a clue. He did, however, hear what November was saying. "Hmm. Perhaps chocolate? I'm feeling optimistic," he grinned at the other boy. "But if you like, I could just take a turn in truth or dare. I imagine you'd like to learn about me, as well."

Green hummed at the question about what to sing, tapping his chin. "For this one, I care more about what you want to sing. I'd take someone totally made up or wordless, as long as you feel it expresses something about you," he blinked at him slowly, interested.

"Oh, yes, they've got them all made up in jars at the supermarket.... Goodness, it's so strange to me to think, that someone might not go to supermarkets..." He cocked his head, pondering. "I suppose maybe wizards have supermarkets though... I don't know. I've only ever known St. Romuald's." He cocked his head, looking to Green with utmost curiosity. "I'll make you curry, though. I promise." He beamed.

"Chocolate?" He grinned, looked at the bean again. "I suppose I'll go with unconventional, then... Looks an awful lot like dirt to me, chocolate does, so I think it will taste of dirt." He carefully sliced the bean, set half before Green with a smile. "Down the hatch, then?" With a nod, he popped it into his mouth, chewed.

"I've never been so unhappy to be right," he mumbled after a few chews, his confident expression slowly turning pained.

"But, yes, the song," he grumbled, after choking his way through the dirt-flavoured bean, "if you want to hear one that's like me, well, I think I know just the one. But I also think this should count for both a truth and a dare," he mumbled, voice quiet, shy in the face of such vulnerability.

"Oh, we have markets; they just tend not to be so super," Green scoffed, shrugging. "I suppose there's a certain charm to it, in comparison. You generally know who's made what, and where it was made, as opposed to things just... being there," he huffed. "And next to nobody is a middle-manager or anything like that. But then again, all of our convenience is magic, and there's no telling when your Kitchen Conjure Insta-Dinner is going to grow legs or something," he laughed.

He smiled at November as he offered, genuine warmth suffusing his small, pale face. "Thank you, November. I'd like that," he said softly. He popped the bean into his mouth, chewed, swallowed. "Oh," he said softly, frowning. "Oh, that is all too familiar. Well, at least the texture is better this time," he huffed.

He took another bean from the bag, this one a dull gold, unspeckled. "Gentlemen, place your bets," he prompted with a grin.

He sobered as November withdrew, however, nodding. "Certainly, that sounds fair to me. Should we wait until I've got another win, or shall I just owe you? Or would you like both a truth and a dare right now? I'll pick truth if you don't want both," he nodded amicably.

"Honestly, that does sound rather nice... I always liked the little shops, but we never had enough money to shop anywhere but Tesco and Aldi and such like." A soft sigh, quickly dissipated. Well, he certainly wouldn't be shopping at Tesco anymore, not when he was headed off to a place of actual magic! He wondered, briefly, if he would miss it, but then thought, how could he? 'Familiar' was about the only positive quality his old life had.

After collecting a tiny chocolate rib bone from the skeleton, November peered at the next bean. "Hmmmm.... Well, my hope is that maybe it's saffron, but I'm going to hedge my bets more realistically, and say earwax." He made a face, preparing himself to find out.

Considering Green's offer, he paused, head tilting in thought. "Well, if you can think of something that's both, then I welcome you to perform it. Otherwise, I suppose we'll just count mine for two, hmm?" He smiled, though deep down, he was curious what Green might be able to do, to show him some deep and hidden inner part of himself that could only be expressed by some form of action: a song, a performance, an experiment maybe?

Green sucked on the side of his cheek. "Well, there are ways to get money in the wizarding world if you're smart. Leprechaun gold is one of them, if you're dealing with someone you don't like who won't see you again," he shrugged. "You need to use it fast, or it'll disappear, but if you think someone is extorting something from you and they don't have the right to the cash in writing, that can be a good way to go. But mostly, a bit of knowhow and equipment will do you best. You'd be shocked how many people don't know how to make simple muggle poultices of aloe and green tea and things like that," he shrugged. "Sell it as a beauty product, and you'll make some pocket change."

"Saffron!" Green laughed, blinking at it. "That's fancy; but I would have guessed toffee. In any case, I suppose whichever it turns out to be, both would be good," he said, taking his half of the bean. He popped it in his mouth, and his face immediately soured. "You... you win," he gagged, spitting the thing out into a napkin.

"As for both, there's something like what I asked you, but coming up with things is part of the game," Green said, grinning at him. "So if you want it to be two, you'll have to come up with two things. In any case, I'd owe you three now, so I'll take two truths and
dare,"
he gestured.

"You mean that?" November dared a curious smile at Green's mention of how easy it would be to make money from herbal concoctions. Perhaps all of his previous afternoons pouring over herbals when other children were outside playing ball would come in handy... "Well, I know a thing or two about that, but I don't know a thing about selling anything, beyond the time the other children tried to start a lemonade stand..." He chuckled. "It didn't really work very well..." He'd picked up rather quickly after the incident that a baleful look and an outstretched hat tended to result in a lot more coin a lot faster.

November had scarcely lifted the bean to his lips when he saw Green gag, and suddenly decided against any further exploration than the tiniest touch of a tongue, just to keep the competition honest. That was more than enough.

Reaching for one of his pumpkin pasties to rid his mouth of the taste, he pondered the latest victory, how to continue their little game of truth or dare. He had three on Green at this point, but how would he use them wisely? As he looked over the other boy with a raven's curious gaze, it came to him. One way to know for certain just how far he could trust this boy.

"Alright, let's start with the truths," he said, leaning forward, a sudden bright light in his eyes, "What's the worst thing you've ever wanted to do, and would you ever do it? " His voice was barely more than a breath, his body quivering on the edge of his seat in anticipation.

"Of course I mean that. I don't say things I don't mean," Green huffed, straightening pridefully. Blinked. "Well. Not to friends, anyway," he shrugged with a dismissive gesture. "As for lemonade stands, the key to those is a mixture of heart rending and product placement. You can't just sell it where it's hot, you need to sell it where people are thirsty and away from alternative sources, like in the middle of a large park. Unfortunately, such spots are generally taken, and the stands themselves are difficult to move," he sighed, eyes rolling. "But if you're good with herbs, the same principles apply to selling things there. The average student is going to need some pimple cream once in a while. We just need to figure out where they'd normally get that, then undercut their usual supplier by placing our product in a more convenient location," he shrugged. "We could work on it together, if you like; it could be fun," he grinned.

As November asked his question, however, his entire demeanor shifted. He stared at November calculatingly, folding his napkin over and over the spit-out bean, the rest of the game forgotten. "That's quite a truth," he murmured, voice low. "It sounds like what you're asking me for could even be construed as a confession, if it was recorded, replayed for the right people," he said, eyes flicking towards the door.

He paused.

"Do you swear never to repeat what you hear in this room? Do you swear you have no recording devices on you, that you will not use any part of what I am about to tell you against me?" He suddenly leaned forward, snatching November's hand. "This is an oath between wizards, you know. That means there are consequences if it is broken," he breathed, eyes narrowing. Hopefully the boy didn't know that a binding oath was a particular spell, and one that Green didn't know...

"Well, I suppose I could have a go at it," November said, smiling a little, "if you help me, at least... You seem to know a lot more about this marketing stuff than I do." He smiled, shy, careful, testing the waters. Green seemed like a good and clever ally to have around, but-... He still needed the answer to that dare.

He cocked his head at the mention of a 'confession,' however, the expression on his face making it clear that he'd never even thought of such a thing. "Oh, I've not got anything to record you with, I haven't even a phone...." It was only now that he realized how his request must have sounded, and he gave his head a strong shake, insistent.

"Of course I'll never tell! I've not got anything but my own ears, and I didn't-... I was never going to tell anybody. I just, wanted to know, so I-...." He cut himself off, looking away, only to freeze as he felt Green's hand on his own. "I-... I'll never tell. I swear it," he promised, gaze snapping back to level with Green's, and there was a finality in it as hard as steel.

The corner of Green's lips quirked up in a cocky grin, and his chin tilted upwards imperiously. "Trust me, November," he purred. "Stick with me, and I'll see to it that you reap the full benefit of those hard-won talents of yours. One way or another," he murmured, gears clicking as he glanced outside the window.

Green watched November with careful eyes as the taller boy professed the innocence of his request, his lack of recording devices. Even if he didn't have a phone, it didn't mean nothing in here was a recording device; it wasn't only muggles who were capable of hiding recorders. Green bit his lip, eyes flashing over the cabin suspiciously, picturing extendable ears stuffed into the walls. If only he knew the Imperturbable charm... he would simply have to hope, and be discrete.

Locking onto November's gaze again, he studied it for a moment longer, and believed he found honesty there. He nodded, once. "Alright. Let me begin by answering your second question. If there is something I truly want to do, all consequences having been considered, I will do it. I would have no reason not to. Yes?" he asked, inclining his head towards November. "... Yes," he murmured to himself, hand still atop November's, surprisingly heavy for such a delicate looking thing.

"As for what I wanted to do... I have wanted to burn my house down, just to make something change in my life," he said softly, eyes almost dreamy. "Just to make the thing bloom into light and life, even if only for an evening. To see the gray walls go up and rain down, ashes, dispersed and defeated," he murmured, fingers moving slightly, eyes flickering left and right in memory. "You can't hide behind business as usual when someone takes it away from you. That is what I have wanted," he exhaled, deflating.
