There is a great deal to be said about presenting a unified front. Once again, Tyranni had been left to her own devices, the pressure of carrying her team in quaffle points placed solely upon her shoulders. As competent as she was, there was only so much an individual could do when faced against the entirety of the opposing team's chasers as well as their keeper. Evidently, the badgers seemed to uphold the belief that the best defense was a good offense. And, perhaps there was some truth to that notion as they secured the quaffle for three consecutive tosses.
A clear points advantage would not so easily be secured, however. With Koko having returned Erin to her broom, Slytherin hastened to foil the badger's quaffle superiority. Aaron's impressive broom handling had finally been put on display as he took possession of the quaffle. Flanked by his teammates—Atlas who had abandoned her posts to join the fray, and Serena and Heinrich [Serenrich] whose presence seemed more as a deterrent to waard of opposing body blows (Heinrich's post came in after the deadline and so their Quaffle Grab attempts had to be discarded)—Aaron raced down the pitch towards the goal posts. But unlike had been the previous trend that game, he would not find them unguarded. In impressive Starfish and Stick formation, Koko waited in preparation. Perhaps this had taken Aaron by surprise, or perhaps Aaron simply had a moment off his game. The toss sent towards the hoops was easily blocked.
Not to be denied, Hufflepuff would find possession of the quaffle once again. Norse and Greek gods faced off, but one had sacrificed their hand in a situation where all hands on deck were needed to snag that quaffle. The opportunity would be taken by Atlas. Named for one accustomed to carrying the world on their shoulders, she would head the assault and navigate the field towards the Slytherin goals. The heavens would throw in their own twist of fate as keepers would find themselves facing off in a most unorthodox of ways. An exceptional throw would bypass Koko's defenses, however, and the strike of a gong would announce to the crowd that Hufflepuff had successfully scored another goal.
"Ten points to Hufflepuff," an announcer would immediately follow.
Quickly, the chasers (badger keeper) would find themselves forming up yet again at pitch center for the next toss. And once again, Atlas would pry a small victory with possession of the quaffle. The badgers really were a unit to contend with, their diligence and discipline in full display as they dominated the quaffle game. Yet again, hufflepuff and slytherin keeper would face off. And yet again, Atlas would wind up for what would likely have been another exceptional throw.
Would have been as a future conditional, being the operative tense. Whoever said looks didn't matter clearly hadn't had a run-in with a Veela or their ken. In the moment right before scoring, Atlas would find herself momentarily mesmerized (for one reason or another left to the discretion of the player), and feel herself freeze up. How could she possibly throw the quaffle at the goals when doing so might mean a bruise-inducing collision of the ball with the specimen of beauty and grace that thought to block it? Easily. Perhaps if she had been alone, the alluring presence of Koko's Veela heritage might have caused Atlas to fumble her attempt to score. As it was, however, Ethen had crossed into her peripheral at just the right moment to subconsciously relay a sense of calm and focus. The badgers were in this to win it, and no deception of the senses would be enough to stop Atlas from attempting to further that goal (pun not intended). She lined up her shot, took aim, and let loose. Unfortunately, it was far from her best throw and Koko was easily able to intercept it and cast the shot on goal aside.

It was as though there were three separate games playing out on the field this day. Which, really, was not entirely far from the general loose description that many would attribute to quidditch. More often than not, however, there would at least be some level of crossover, with bludgers being directed to seekers or chasers, interupting attempts to find the snitch or score the quaffle. Not that the former hadn't been attempted, but consistent defense from either side seemed to be keeping interplay at bay.
Once again, Quinn had his sights on Dan. This time, however, Cassandra was ready for him, swooping in at a calculated moment to protect their seeker and captain. Although, readiness could possibly be argued. With a thunderous crack that rivaled a bolt from Zeus, Quinn sent the bludger rocketing towards them. Only a miracle would have allowed Cassandra to strike at that ball with enough force to redirect it from its path; the attempt to reverse its trajectory was wholly unsuccessful. Nor would they be able to dodge from its path to protect themselves. The reward for their display of loyalty to their captain was a sickening crunch as they took the full brunt of the giant's assault and the moment of free falling that followed as they were expelled forcefully from their broom. Fortuanetly, Nico—who'd been waiting in the wings in preparation to catch a falling Dan—was able to catch the falling comrade.
On the peripherals, Thora and Erin would figuratively tag-team each other. Having been returned to her broom, Erin was required to fulfil her penalty lap, something she set off to complete as quickly as her broom would allow. And just as she set off around the perimeter of the pitch, Thora returned from her own lap. Just like before, she immediately went in for a blatch against Ethen. And, just as before, Lindsey interceded. The interruption was enough to let Ethen get out of the way and divert Thora's path. Even worse, Thora would once again find thin air as Lindsey deftly evaded the oncoming blatch, avoiding collision but alerting the ref to the attempt.
"Larkston, another penalty lap for attempting to blatch again!"

Ininhibited due to teammates interceding to defend their respective behinds, Ethen and Dan continued their hunts. This was setting out to be a rather long game. Although Slytherin hadn't yet managed to break the badger's winning streak, they'd certainly put them through their paces and pulled the wind from their sails. This would not be an easily won match, over in the first few minutes. No, the spectators were in for a treat and get their full money's worth in watching these two behemoths go head to head in a vicious and drawn-out battle. Or perhaps that was a bad thing. Although beset neither with rain, nor snow, the winds continued to bite with an unrelenting chill, and with the snitch continuing to hide stubbornly wherever it was, there would be no reprieve in sight from the elements.

Erin was back on her broom, the sense of independence as well as vulnerability set in as she kicked off. It was likely that either she or Dan would be targeted this round. Erin's brawn was undeniable as was Dan's potential value if he ever found the snitch. Hufflepuff often won due to their strong Seeker Game.Interacts with: @Dan Palmer
Mentions: @Quinn Healy specifically, all of Hufflepuff (Quidditch)
In most matches, Erin would be taken out rather early. It was a rather queer sensation to realize that again she has remained conscious. A non-threat for more than half the game thus far due to a foul as well as a fall, a part of her wondered what she would be ordered to do. If she would take another reckless dive for Quinn or if she would target Ethan, taking down more than likely their defender.
She would glance over her shoulder and look to Palmer. He was looking for the snitch, that glint of gold against a silver sky. It was only a matter of time before he would find the snitch. She could defend him, whoever attempts to take the Seeker down would have to get through her. There was nobody on the team less the part-giant himself that could stand against her unless they devolved to fouls. A rather uncharacteristic, desperate choice for the loyal house of badgers.
"Let me be your shield!"
A purposeful statement meant to be overheard, to rouse the thoughts of more than her Captain but also her enemies. There was a series of actions and reactions that she could expect in response to her dangerous, suicidal declaration. An extra variable that they would be forced to consider moving on. She would rise her broom towards Dan, would he shoo her away?
She would tighten her bandaged fingers around the shaft of her broom and visually assess her opponents. Two beaters -- a pair of bludgers she would have to contend with. Three chasers, potentially a blatch among them. She would not be able to redirect their blatches. One keeper, might be a worthwhile decision to abandon their hoops and misuse them in a foul also. But they were down a player, there were two of them sharing a broom. Would they return to their respective brooms? She did not know, she awaited direction from Dan Palmer.
Action: Returned to broom post fall from broom caused by a bludger launched at her by Quinn, caught by Koko. Penalty lap completed. Move as described by team submission for this round.//

Quidditch Game
It felt so, so good to be back defending the goalposts. Perhaps it was the familiarity of her job, or perhaps it was having a clearly defined purpose, but Koko felt a bit more relaxed. She was still in her Quidditch mindset, of course, but she felt less anxious, less jumpy. She was more ready, her hands already poised to block a Quaffle toss, her body ready to leap to protect the goals.
It was easier, she thought, to protect something that couldn't move or fight back. If she'd had to protect Erin from a blatch or a bludger, she wasn't sure she would be able to do it well. Protecting others wasn't always her strongest skill (even if, deep down, she wanted to improve on that). She was far better at protecting herself.
Still, the hoops were predictable. Protecting them? At this point, it was second nature to the third-year.
Koko wanted to groan when she noticed Tyranni hadn't gotten the Quaffle, but then she realised that, wait, it meant she had to protect the goals. The girl leapt into action, watching as Aaron flew at her. She threw herself out in a Starfish-and-Stick, and she felt her eyebrows raise - oh, she'd blocked it!
She must have let her guard down on the second block, because she watched, dejected, as another Quaffle soared through the goals behind her. How had it gotten past her?
Steeling herself for what she hoped wouldn't be another block on her part (Tyranni was a good Chaser who was great at scoring. Koko, quite frankly, had more faith in the Chaser than in herself), she took a deep breath and tried to calm herself the best she could as Atlas came at her - well, at the goals. Koko managed to block this one, too, and she felt her lips curve into a smirk. That'll show 'em.
She watched as Thora was told to do a penalty lap - honestly, the amount of blatches Thora had done completely surprised Koko. She remembered practising with Thora back when the second-year had been the second-string Keeper, and she'd never quite struck Koko as the type to perform a foul.
Koko supposed she should now know that people were not always who they seemed, but she still couldn't help but let her mouth open in the shape of a small O.
She surveyed the rest of the pitch, noting that Erin was back from her penalty lap and that Cash and Nico were now sharing a broom. She wondered how many people they could catch before they ran out of brooms and room, but she shook her head, shooing the thoughts out of her head.
They'd be fine.

Brisk, cold and windy
The third round of the game was brutal. Who knew Hufflepuff could be so hostile. Then again Cash needed to stopped themselves to put every other houses in a stereotype. People sometimes could surprises you and they did not looked like what they seems. Cash learned the hard way during this match.
As they hovered in the air and waiting for the bludger, Cash spectated the game that still in play. They watched when both of the teams fight for the Quaffle grab. Alas, Hufflepuff managed to win two out of three of the Quaffle Grab but only managed to score once. Cash looked at the score board.
Ten more point added. That's mean the black and yellow team lead the game by 10 points. We can still catch up with the score Cash was hopeful. Slytherin known for their offense game. At some point the table could be turned again and who knows maybe their team could win the entire match.
Then suddenly the bloody iron ball called as a bludger comes into their peripheral. Cash looked at the offensive ball that fly toward their Captain after being hit by one of the Hufflepuff's Beater (Quinn). Without thinking, the purple haired swooped in to protect their Captain and Seeker like some kind of superhero.
The green eyes was ready to redirected the ball back to its sender but they failed miserably. Whomever send the ball definitely much much stronger than them. As a result from how strong the ball had been hit, it knocked Cash out of balance and they instantly fell off from their broom.
When the ball hit them hard, it is like a truck had been hit them. The bludger managed to knocked the wind out of them. This is the second time Cash had free falling from their broom. Cash waited for the inevitable when they landed hard on the cold ground. It would be a miracle if they did not end up unconscious from how hard the little cannonball had hit them.
It was like fate was still on their side. Just like the first match, someone managed to catch them before they really hit the ground. One of their Chaser (Nico) managed to save them. Cash was now sharing a broom with her. "T-tha-thanks"Uttered Cash with ragged breath. It feels like some of their rib broke and catch on fire at the same time.
It is hard to breathe let alone talk but Cash pushed through the pain. Good thing they are ambidextrous. Cash switched holding the bat. From their left hand onto their right hand. While their right hand holding the bat, their left hand clutching their collapse rib while took a much needed breath to soothe the searing pain that they felt all over their body.

"Goddamn!"
Ami's loud cheering was probably more than a little annoying to both the other team as well as her own teammates, and part of her felt bad for begging Howard to sit next to her. At least he wasn't trying to rip Thomas' skin off his face, right? "Let's go, Reid! Come on, Jones! Move your asses, B-Boys!" she added, staring at the two Chasers seated together on Serena's broom. "What the hell are they doing?" she muttered to herself, shaking her head in disappointment.
Turning to her benched teammates, the Co-Captain's gaze fixed on two of the newer players, @Stanley Buttons and @Aspen Summers. "You guys enjoying yourselves so far?" she asked, offering them both a gentle smile. "One day, that'll be you guys up there," she added reassuringly, nodding towards the Quidditch players zipping around on their brooms, "So- aw, hell yeah!"
Once again, Springhall had apparently decided that she would simply have to be the MVP of this match. Distracting the Slytherin Blatcher and then smoothly yoinking herself out of the way, Ami pumped her fist in the air. "YOU GET THAT BREAD, KID. GET IT, SPRINGHALL!" she yelled into the sky, her face stretched into a wide smile. "Man, look at her go!"

While Thomas seemed perfect content to let whatever petty concern he had go for the time being, Percival was not placated. Instead, he snapped back, saying he knew he was dating Opeila, seemingly because of how close they were. Extremely miffed at his continued distraction, Flash let a face of malice form as he returned his gaze to his dorm mate. His anger was getting harder and hard to restrain, and he absolute did not want to start something here. Though the icy glare would tell of all the things he would very much like to do or say to Percival in that moment, he instead was silent as he tried to calm the torrent inside him asking for a good punch to the face. He was punching people far too often for comfort.
Breathing in deep and letting out a beleaguered breath slowly, Flash's features melted back to cold indifference. "You assume, you mean. Well, it's not the truth. Opeila and I have been close for a long time, I don't consider hugging to be a strictly romantic action."
Once again attempting to focus on the game, Flash watched the air again. Their team looked beaten up, tired. It seemed like they had taken quite a few hits at this point, but were holding on. Dan at least seemed undamaged, that was good. It was hard to concentrate with the irritation scratching at his thoughts.
"She was showing me kindness. Is kindness also relegated to romance alone?" A petty addition, as though biting back at Percival further would ease his growing temper.

Dan at least seemed undamaged, that was good. It was hard to concentrate with the irritation scratching at his thoughts.
"She was showing me kindness. Is kindness also relegated to romance alone?" A petty addition, as though biting back at Percival further would ease his growing temper.

Howard bounced up and down on his heels as the match continued. Not that he would ever admit it but the nerves were building up inside his belly. It wasn't that the match was going poorly, it was that it just seems to be staggering along. He had grown used to Hufflepuff gaining the momentum right after the first whistle. However, team Slytherin was determined to see their flawless streak come to an end and the constant back and forth between the two teams felt unsettling for some reason. Ami's loud cheering actually proved to be a good distraction and kept his worry at bay. Although he badly wanted his team to win she reminded him that it was mostly about having fun. To stand on the sidelines and be this close to the action was still enough to amp Howard up. "C'mon Puffs! Get it done!" He bellowed as he join Ami in cheer.

Broom: Twigger 90 - In the role of Keeper, if the Keeper effectively blocks an attempt to score rather than obtain possession of the quaffle they can kick the quaffle at the user who attempted to score. This must be declared at the time actions are submitted. This would have damage like a bludger using an accuracy roll to hit and the user's strength score to determine the amount of damage done. If the quaffle hits or misses the target, a quafflegrab the next round would be necessary to determine which team has possession of the quaffle again.

Dan did not understand.
Their strategies were superior. Their team was superior. Slytherin's team was superior to Hufflepuffs in almost every way.
So HOW were these badgers making things so difficult?!
And WHERE was this shaggin' snitch?!
The frustration was starting to mount, and Dan was getting properly tired of it. Slytherin had already lost one game due to bullshit luck. A second one would prove someone was sabotaging them.
"Come on, just take them down already!"

Percival was a bit surprised to see the look of utter hatred on the boy's face. It wasn't a look he had often seen on the other's face. Though, it was hard to tell. Seeing how he rarely saw the boy. Percival eyed the boy with a glower of his own. He and Opeila had hugged when they first had decided to be together. He knew that hugging wasn't strictly a romantic thing, but he had thought it had been good enough for their small relationship. "I see. So you go around hugging everyone you know?" He snarked back at the boy. Percival frowned as he watched the players zoom about the skies. "I don't know anyone who doesn't reserve their kindness for relationships." He muttered in annoyance. Percival's wanted to add how Opeila only ever showed him kindness while in a relationship, but he found that a bit too personal.
