I am sure you are correct, just make sure everything is PG-13 up in here. We don't want to be demonetised, amiright
I...may or may not know what demonetized means...

It means the topic will be pinned to the top of the board and won't move down when new topics get created. It's essentially used by staff to keep information at the top, letting other things fall down as they get older. :)  Most players won't need to use this feature, with the exception of perhaps Quidditch Captain or someone in charge of the House Newspaper? They may want to pin something to the top of their boards (Quidditch Locker Rooms / House Newspaper Offices) to make sure everyone sees it.

I was wondering, not to speed anything up, but approximately, how long does it take for teachers to grade students' homework?

Hey Wes! To my belief, it depends on the teacher. Some teachers are better at getting it back to you fast, especially if they have the motivation (Sebas and occasionally Leonie and Sergei are good at this). Once again, they do have actual lives and some of them do grade other subjects.

The longest I've waited is four weeks for Flying. In conclusion, it's really variable.

I don't know if this has been asked or answered before...
Is there any notable time in the future ,that people know of, where pets shall be added?

Here is a second question:
Do you have to complete the 25 or so articles of homework to actually move on to the second year of this website? What if, for example, someone hasn't began their lessons and don't plan to - will they be stuck as a first year forever?

and a third:

if someone joins after the majority of us move to our second year, will they be a first year? I expect so but I NEED ANSWERS

Hi Wes,

1. Pets - Honestly, there is no known time. It's something that requires coding and I know that Zachary, the one who does the coding for HiO, had a few other things he wanted to code first. He also is extremely busy IRL so it could take a few months before the pet system comes into play.

2. Homework - The main story will progress and so, in September, all first years become second for RPG purposes I guess. However, your profile will still say first year until you complete 25 pieces of homework. You are also limited to spells you've learnt in homework (and spells you've been taught by Professors in an RPG) so if you haven't done them, then I guess it would be pretty restricting after a while (if you plan to be a dueler, join events/adventures, take part in the main story etc). So essentially, yes, you'd be a first year forever...

3. Real time - I believe anyone who starts in September, they'll be a first year, yes. Then September 2019, they'll go up to second whilst all second will go up to third.

Hope that helps!

Serena

Thank you so much, Serena! That, honestly, has made me kind of scared because I frankly don't understand most of the homework and what it asks for us to do. That really isn't something for you to be concerned about but I appreciate it very much c:

Ahhh!! Please don't be scared. All of the teachers have a questions thread - or are available by owl. So if you have any specific questions about a lecture, do ask them. They'll help out.

I haven't done most of them myself, due to the lack of time. However, the ones I've done were quite easy. You don't need to get Os (the highest grade), just do them and that's enough! Once you do a few, you'll get a feel for it I think.

We're always around to help too. <3
