As the enemy team had the puck, it was Flash's job to be on the defensive. That said, he was really starting to get back into the rhythm of ice skating. It had been a while since the last time he was on ice, but once his legs got used to it, it was almost second nature. It was almost as though it became easier the less he focused on it. The same could not be said for his fellow defenseman, who was cleaning the ice with his coat as he slid around on his stomach. If Flash were a spectator, he would likely have found it endearing, but as his teammate, he was missing the extra body stopping the puck. Flash might be nice, but that shiny veneer slipped when he was feeling competitive. After all, if winning wasn't important, why keep score?
He was perhaps distracted, as while Dealla and Kazuo went forward quickly to nab the puck away from team 2, Flash instead saw Percival heading towards their goal, away from the skirmish. He realized he should be stopping him, but he was very fast. It reminded him of his football game with Jack Warren-- speed wasn't exactly Flash's forte, he was no faster than the next person. Instead, he had relied on learning and adapting to win that match, and even though Percival was flying past him, he gave chase.
Luckily for Flash's reputation, Opeila blocked his attempted shot. Flash would shoot her a look of relief and thankfulness before building up speed and ramming into the distracted snake, knocking him over with the full force of a physically fit, angsty teen. It was no surprise that the action proved to be highly satisfying. Even though he already took his shot, he was a threat, and he was better off on the ground. Flash wouldn't be able to contain a smug grin as he looked upon his prone form.
"Stay there, won't you?" Flash said quietly, before skating off again.
The puck was back in his team's possession, where it belonged.

As she looked around, Lydia tried her best to locate where the puck was. In the state she was in she doubted she would have been able to tackle anyone, let alone pushing them onto the ground; so she decided to change tactics, and started skating around the ice, until she noticed that Ileen had possession of the puck.
Just as she thought about skating towards her to try and steal the puck, Lydia felt her skates taking their own initiative, and she would have most definitely fallen down on the ice, if it wasn't for her reflexes. She managed to stay up and not fall onto the ground, but the young girl could feel her head way lighter than normal, just as a new wave of nausea hit her.
Refocusing her attention, she tried her best to understand what was going on. Ileen didn't have the puck anymore, so who did? Did someone from her team steal the puck? Or maybe the other team had managed to score? Her eyes scanned the ground, looking for the black disc, until they found it: Percival was trying to score! Pausing her movements, Lydia watched the scene as she tried to catch her breath and hoping they would not score.
"Yes!" she cheered when Opeila successfully guarded their goal, before she realised something: the puck was now lose on the ice. Without thinking too much about it, Lydia started skating towards the puck, determined to snatch it. She had been quite useless so far, and since she knew that the curse would have knocked her out sooner or later, she was determined to help her team as much as she could. As she was getting closer to it, Lydia saw in the corner of her eye that Willow was also going for the puck; she sped up her skating, pushing through another wave of nausea, her mind set on getting that puck.
The moment she reached it and securely snatched it, she almost didn't believe she had managed to do that. "Sorry Willow!" she said, her lips curved up in an apologetic smile, before she started skating again. Of course, she did not think this through: sure, now she had the puck, but she could also feel her fever coming up, which meant she might have had a hard time aiming in general. Oh gosh, what do I do now? she wondered, before she decided on her next move.

Willow's team was seemingly not on the "Let's have some super fun" bandwagon. The little badger was just skating and vibing! Giving out hugs and smiling. Thomas however seemed to disagree with her strategy. Not that any of the teams really talked about one prior. Her bright smile faltered as Thomas spat out her position at her. She was doing her best! This just wasn't really her forte. He only made it worse when he took a stab at one of the deepest issues of shame she had, that only Flash really knew the extent of. Her lip couldn't help but quiver as she hung her head and return to her position. Her tears would surely freeze at the tear ducts, but that didn't help the bite of pain that was executed by the snake.
If there was any time to play her position well, it was now. Though her heart wasn't quite in it as much as it was before. Her eyes tracked the puck with a misty precision and she started to go after it. The mist however prevented her from seeing her own captain snag the puck from out in front of her. As the captain of the duelling team apologized, she shook it off. "No problem cap! Go get them! Or- don't! We're not... on the same team." Her voice quickly faded at the end, worried that Thomas would scold her once more.

@Flash Holmwood @Henry Knight @Dealla Prince
Jake had asked who was winning, and one of his team-mates - the girl he had met with Jack and Ruka at the Halloween ball, the night of the ghost cat - told him that THEY were. She had the blue cloth on her hand, so that meant she was on his team, which meant the team that was winning was his. Told to defend their goal, the aimless little Hufflepuff nodded his head, and turned to skate back towards his team's goal, and the Slytherin boy - Flash - who was the other defender.
But he didn't make it all the way there, because as he made to skate towards Flash as he was told, he felt his feet slip out from under him, and then Jake was plummetting back to the ice, spinning on the slippery surface before coming to a stop once more.
Jake groaned. It didn't hurt so much, the pillows protected him so that he barely even felt the fall. But he had fallen again. It was the second time in a row, AND he had already crashed into two people. Nobody ELSE was falling and crashing over and over. Why couldn't he do it if everybody else could?
A hand entered his field of vision, and he looked up to see the Slytherin boy he had crashed into before. Sheepishly he raised his hand and with the assistance of Henry, Jake found himself back on his wobbly feet. "I'm okay..." he told the other sadly. He looked down at himself, to take stock of any possible damage from the fall, but everything was fine, and nothing was hurt but his pride. "Thank you for helping me up," he said, holding his stick. It had been nice of the other boy, especially because they weren't even on the same team, and Jake had knocked him down earlier. With a grateful wave to Henry, he made his way back to his own goal, even more cautiously than before. Finally, he skidded towards Flash (and then a little farther past him because he wasn't very good at stopping).
"Sorry...I'm not very good..." he told his fellow defenseman as he got back into position. "Ive never played hockey before..."

There he came again, aiming for Opeila's goal. Oh no.
What were the chances? Percival was obviously not on the ice for the first time, he seemed to know way better what he was doing than the little girl in the goal did. Well... at least she was on her feet this time.
And... that also seemed to be enough. She kept the eyes on the puck, watched her opponent's stick's movement and... defended successfully! With a mix of surprise and amazement she looked to Flash. She did it!
Alright, Opeila didn't think about passing it to anyone, she just blindly pushed it away, but that was better than to let the other team score, wasn't it?
Also Lydia managed to get the puck back into her team's possession anyway. What was in the way of her team taking the lead?
Flash used his chance to tackle Percival to the ground and then got back into the game. "Nice try, Gray." Opeila couldn't resist to mock him back for his last attempt. "Maybe next time hm?"
Smirking, she watched her team making its way over to the other side of the field. How good was Lestrange? He let one puck through before...

The words of encouragement Thomas distributed to his teammates did not rally the troops like he believed it would. Perhaps the power lessened when they did not come from the bassy voice of his former coach, a grizzled veteran, hailing from Russia with an aroma that varies from stolichnaya to firewood. Thomas certainly not lacking passion, but the broken voice of a boy in the height of puberty dimmed in delivery.
A glimmer of remorse etched across the boy's lips, witnessing his Huffle defender and former prefect crumble in tears from his criticism. He may have struck a nerve within her, as her position on the Quidditch team as well as house representative was short lived. Quitting appeared to be a developing habit, and Thomas' stern reminder that this was a competition only seemed to fester. The boy offered no words to strengthen her spirits, instead hoping her sadness would transform into anger. Was there a beast hiding away within Willow Anderson?
Despite Thomas assisting in putting Dealla on her ass earlier, and provided her teammate with a curse that continues to take it's toll, the Ravenclaw still poked fun at his aim from a distance. Thomas offered no retort, opting to place his focus on his team's positioning and where the rubber has landed after Opeila's impressive save. His blue eyes followed the puck as it traveled from tape to tape, tending to his net as he should.

ROUND 5
Something seemed to be very wrong with the ice on Team Red's side of the field. While most players were doing just fine keeping their balance, proximity to Thomas Lestrange's goal seemed to inspire a severe case of slip and fall on your face in both the goalie and half of his defense: Thomas and Ileen managed to trip so badly that they would probably be carrying bruises from it tomorrow.Balance Check DC6

After an attempt and failure at sending Ileen on a trip to the ice just a few moments earlier, @Kazuo Shimada decided to try once again. One would almost think his apology hadn't been sincere after all. Ileen, perhaps still distracted and off-balance from getting up, did not show any of her previous agility or steadiness. She was sent tumbling to the ground with enough force to make the ice shake, and would require a few moments to get back up again.Kazuo vs Ileen

She was a sight to see, her beauty inspiring even blackbirds to sing about the golden glitter of her snot glistening in the sunlight. The answer was no. Whatever Miss Prince was looking at, it was certainly not the puck. Had anyone ever looked this disoriented?@Jake Morris was now on a mission. He'd been told that his team was winning, and he was supposed to do his part by defending their goal. It was not quite clear how he ended up in Henry's path during the Slytherin's penalty lap around the field, but there was some awkward bumbling, maybe some stumbling, and both of them would end up being a little disoriented after.Jake vs Henry
ReducioJake attempts to bodycheck Henry.
Accuracy: [d20: 16] + 8 = 24
Evasion: [d20: 19] + 5 = 24

Both Jake and Henry will suffer -1 Accuracy next round.@Opeila Winters was, for the first time this match, free to make use of the Goalie's privilege of casting at the other team's attackers. On her feet, the puck not anywhere in sight, she set her aim on Percival, repaying what Thomas Lestrange had done to Lydia Cooper a few minutes ago in kind. An eye for an eye, a nose full of snot for a nose full of snot. With her target still prone on the ground, she hit easily, and Percival would immediately feel a nasty cold building. Evasion: [d20: 16] + 6 = 22

Percival suffers -1 Accuracy, -1 Arcane Power per round (stacks to -3) and will faint in 9 rounds. Most of the red team seemed to be rather preoccupied this round. @Henry Knight was still paying for his attempted foul, and only now finished his penalty lap around the field. @Percival Gray was still lying on the ground, maybe stunned into inactivity by the pure power that was Flash's bodycheck a minute ago. @Heinrich Bezuidenhout simply seemed a little... lost.Henry
ReducioHenry spent the round doing a penalty lap.
Thomas
ReducioThomas spent the round actively guarding.
Heinrich & Percival
ReducioDid not post, their actions were voided.
@Thomas Lestrange, despite being back on his ass, had finally managed to show some of that hockey skill he supposedly had, successfully defending his goal. The score remained 1:1, and the puck was free on the ice. It was anyone's game yet.

CALLING SUBSTITUTES
While most of the game was going on as chaotic as ever, one corner of the field drew a little more chaos. @Percival Gray was still flat on the ice, stunned, and it seemed that @Heinrich Bezuidenhout was not very attentive of where his skates were taking him - not enough, at least, to notice his teammate on the ground right in front of him. A crash, a tumble, a knee met stomach and a head met ice.
The referee had noticed what was going on right away, and, cursing to himself, made his way over to the pair in quick, sure strides. "You two okay?" he called just as he reached them, but it was obvious very quickly: They were not.
There were no broken bones, at least, no fingers cut off by skates or similar horror scenarios, but there was some blood, some tears in sniffling young Heinrich's eyes, Percival wheezing for air. A trip to the Hospital Wing should get them fixed up rather quickly, but they were in no condition to continue.
Cursing, again, the referee busied himself helping them off the ice, at the same time casting a glance about at the spectators near. Some of them were conveniently already wearing skates, watching the game from the very edges of the field, and those were the ones the referee waved to.
@Alan Vanes and @Cassandra Ironwoods were the first two to grasp the situation and react, Cassandra heading right towards the field to join Team Red, Alan first heading towards the site of the accident to offer help.
The rest of the game continued.
------------- 1:1-------------
OOC Note
- Alan and Cassandra will be replacing Percival and Heinrich from here on (OOC consent for accident and switch given). Cassandra will already have an action this round, Alan starting from next round.
- The deadline remains as is. Failure to post will result in a void action. You may ask for one 24 hour extension.

The small blonde haired hufflepuff boy by the name; Jake Morris seemed different from the rest of the opposing team. He seemed like a truly kind and genuine soul, definitely the opposite of certain players... the female ravenclaw attacker...
Henry would pull Jake up and with a smile nod to him as he spoke" glad your alright mate," before going to start his penalty lap around the ice not really paying much attention to the rest of his team... not that they deserved to get attention paid to them in the first place.
Henry just finished his lap when someone suddenly bumped him, casually looking around as his eyes landed on Jake and Henry called out" you alright there mate?" Before his eyes flashed over the ice and landed on the black haired Asian looking boy.
He definitely did something, he's too annoying and ignorant to have not done anything if not it me then someone else. Just look at him, staking on the outskirts near Ileen like a pesky little bug that you would like to squash...
Wait isn't Ileen on the ground through? So the cockroach trackle her... pathetic he is...
Henry then skated back into the game letting his eyes linger around but his thoughts going back to the Asian looking boy.
Maybe I could try using my wand again... I am better at casting then I am at physical activities plus that asian boy does deserve it. I feel like all he's been doing is insulting others and tackling them to the ground.... did he actually do anything yet? Also is it just me or does he resemble a cockroach... I even want to squash him like one...
Wait a moment... isn't that Heinrich and Percival?
Henry glanced toward the two members of his team leaving the ice apparently they had enough and Henry would skate by the edge offering both a smile and well wishes that they feel better.
However his thoughts were that they are now outnumbered and definitely will lose until his sight was set on Alan Vanes joining his team but first helping Percival off the ice and Cash Ironwoods also joining the team.
wait Cash?
Alright so maybe not everyone on this team is a complete idiot now.
As Henry staked by the edge with a smirk on his face as he spoke to Cash, " joining the game, mate? Good because we can use you," Henry now felt better with their chances now that a third year and fellow slytherin was joining the team so perhaps they could still win.

Lydia had the puck and once again they were on the offensive. Kazuo glanced at his teammates, grinning excitedly. Everyone had a bit of a rough start but it seemed his team had not only found their legs but also seemed in sync when it came to tactics. Even Jake was giving his all despite not really knowing what to do. Unfortunately, the other team did not seem to be nearly as synchronized. As he turned to take in the other team, he cringed as Ileen and Thomas both lost their footing.
Kazuo wasn’t a believer in luck as anything more than the natural forces of chaos in the world but if there was such a thing as Lady Luck, somehow the other team seemed to have truly run afoul of her. He glanced first at Dealla then Flash before shifting his focus to his next target. While Lydia sped toward Thomas, Kazuo set his sights on Ileen once again as the rival defensewoman regained her footing, determined to make sure she wouldn’t be able to block Lydia’s chance at a goal. He came in low, giving a solid shoulder check that was far more effective than he’d expected. Perhaps Ileen hadn’t truly found her balance because his check sent her down to the ice once again. This time he didn't bother with an apology, focusing on Lydia and the puck.
Unfortunately, while he and Flash had ensured a clear shot for Lydia, Thomas somehow managed to block the shot despite being on his ass. “糞 Shit” He muttered. “Good try, Cooper!”
While they had been attempting to score, it seemed the other team’s luck had finally hit rock bottom. He watched Ruka waving in some new players, frowning as they helped Heinrich and Percival off the ice. He paused to see if Ruka would call the game but it seemed while Percival and Heinrich were out of the game, they weren’t too badly injured. He turned his gaze to the new additions, Cash and Alan. Cash looked familiar, he’d seen her at the Beckett Gala, if memory served him, but the other boy he hadn’t met. He looked older, probably a third or fourth year. A pretty hefty advantage for team two, in terms of spell power, anyway. If the new addition was as willing to cheat as Henry… He glanced at the Slytherin who had finished his penalty lap and rejoined the game. Well, only time would tell…
