HISTORYReducioFanny was born on 25 July 2010. She lives a happy childhood with her mother and father. The family was all three muggles. But there was a problem. Ever since she was born, they had been fighting all the time. For a yes or for a no. But mostly because of her father's work. He was under too much stress and hardly ever spoke to his family. So what happened was what had to happen: the divorce.
Fanny had a hard time getting over it. But in the end she did. When she was 7, her mother, who was too angry about what had happened, tried to find Fanny's father. She and Fanny managed to follow his trail to Australia. There her mother met a man. It was love at first sight. At first Fanny didn't notice him, but the meetings kept intriguing her. She spent almost more time with her babysitter Lucy than with her mother. Until one day her mother gave her two pieces of news. The first was that her father had died in a plane crash. Tears welled up in Fanny's eyes. Then her mother announced the second news: she was getting married! Fanny couldn't believe it. Her mother had dared to replace her father with a guy Fanny didn't even know!
The new husband was in fact Lisa Alistair's father. The same Muggle who divorced Lisa's mother when he found out she was a witch. Fanny was indignant. She, her mother, and her mother's husband stayed in Australia for a year before returning to France.
When Fanny was 9, her stepfather said that Lisa (his daughter) was coming. Apparently, she was her age. Maybe she could get along. But when Lisa arrived, and saw Fanny and her mother, her smile disappeared. She started shouting at her father that she too had her secrets. That she had had her magic sign, that she was a witch. Fanny didn't understand. At first she thought Lisa was just saying that to annoy her father, but from his reaction, it was true. Fanny had never seen her with this face, he was more surprised than ever. Then she ran off to her room (which was also Fanny's room). Fanny followed her and asked if she was okay. Lisa had tears streaming down her face. She told Fanny that she hated her and will always hate her, and a lot of other things like that. But Fanny patiently told her to explain everything. And Lisa explained everything. They finally hit it off, but when Lisa left, she never saw her again, she didn't want to see her father. And Fanny understood her.
The most amazing thing was that just as she was leaving, Fanny had a sign of magic.
She was eating, with her family, and she was pouring water from the carafe. But it slipped out of her hand. She was surprised for a moment and then the carafe stopped. It flew over the table and rested gently. His father-in-law began to shout: "This is not possible! It is not possible! Why?" Her mother shouted: "But what's not possible? WHAT'S GOING ON?" And Fanny didn't understand anything.

I was 9 years old, like her, but our meeting went wrong... I was at home with my mother when my stepfather went to the station to pick up his daughter. I was looking forward to meeting her. I thought she already knew that her father had remarried, but when she arrived with a smile on her face and saw me and my mother, she turned around abruptly in front of her father and screamed:
-Who are they?
Her father was very embarrassed, and introduced us to Lisa. And Lisa made a very sudden reaction.
She confessed a secret that left us all stunned:
-Oh, and you want to know what you missed? I'M A WITCH! I got my magic sign when I was six! And there's nothing you can do about it! I'M GOING TO HOGWARTS!
And she went to her room, which she shared with me. That girl left me speechless. To break the silence my mother said:
-She was joking... wasn't she?
-No... my father whispered.
I had a strange feeling. A mixture between astonishment, envy and surprise. It was a bit like wanting to be a witch...
And I told myself one thing: I'm going to see Lisa, talk to her, understand... So I went to my room. My room was small, just like the flat. We had set up a bed parallel to mine. Lisa was on her bed with her head in a cushion. I felt sad for her. What would I have done if my father had remarried and had another daughter? So I went over to her and gave her a little shake on the shoulder. She mumbled in a muffled voice:
-Leave me alone. I hate you.
But I wasn't going to give up, I wanted to show her that I was sorry for putting her through this. So I said:
- You know, I understand you, my father left when I was six, and I never saw him again. I feel bad about settling down with your dad, but he and my mum are really... in love...
The moment I said that sentence, I regretted it. But Lisa looked up from her cousin and whispered:
-Is that true?
-Yes, she did.
Fanny felt that she was soothing Lisa. Lisa dried her tears, and looked at her with a mixture of anger and surprise. As if she didn't know if she could trust her. The two girls continued to talk. Lisa trusted Fanny more and more, and she was also much calmer. Fanny didn't understand what was going on, but it was as if she had a calming presence. And from then on, whenever Fanny entered a room with a person in it, her mere presence calmed her down.

PENDING - October 3rd (edits due by October 18th)
History - please clarify what exactly her stepfather identifies as. Is he a muggle or a wizard? Why was he not surprised that his daughter was a witch? Also why did Fanny never see Lisa again?
First magic - we need you to clarify a bit more about her first magic. Did it happen as a result of emotion? What was her parents' reactions? Also, saying she did this "with her mind" implies she did it purposefully, so I would avoid including that phrasing.
Calming Presence - a good chunk of this ability application is dialogue from other characters or just talking about how Lisa was distraught, please try to include a bit more detail on how your character exactly maintains a calm presence. "And since that day, every time I am in the same room with someone, that person becomes calm and peaceful, and so do I." Please try to clarify what about Fanny exactly radiates calm and causes others around her to become calm. For example, in the description of the ability itself, it says maybe "it is your carefree personality or the trust others have in you" so listing something that Fanny is known for - staying calm through a crisis, etc etc would help add a bit of detail to your application and make it more relevant to having a calming presence.
Update Oct 13, 2021
Edits needed
1. Stepfather - never stated what he identifies as. Please state wizard-born, pureblood, half-blood, muggle-born wizard, muggle.
2. For the sake of clarity, I am assuming the daughter is "Lisa Alistair"
3. Assuming 'surprise' with the fall was the emotion and that it stopped falling and went to the table was the magic. The previous moderator asked for a family reaction which is missing.
4. Updated Calming Presence - Approved The example with compassion I think served well enough for calming presence.

Beauxbatons NPC
Name: Lee Ye-jun
Birthday: January 2nd, 2008
Nationality: Korean
School: Beauxbatons
Year: 3rd
Blood Status: Muggle-born
Face claim: Yoo Seung-ho
Appearance:Lee Ye-jun is a young boy of average height. His hair is dark brown so much so it can appear almost black at times. Most of the time he wears a rather cold expression but he has a beautiful smile that is reserved for his closest family and friends. Since he was quite ugly as a child, he places great importance on his appearance and clothing even after he outgrown that stage and became handsome. His body is lean but he is definitely hiding some muscles underneath all that fancy clothing.
Personality:Ye-jun appears rather cold or posh to strangers and he does so intentionally. He used to be made fun of for his looks when he was a kid so he is very choosey about his inner circle even now, when he became quite popular. He is more on the quiet side but there is an aura of confidence surrounding him. He worked hard to build it up so it’s very hard to make him second guess himself. He loves to learn and is generally successful in anything he does. He is not a genius by nature but he is definitely a hard worker. Ye-jun likes to run in his free time as it helps him clear his head. He loves animals and is very reliable for those he deems close enough. He has a very warm side to him but doesn’t show it often. That being said he is not arrogant and tries his best to be polite with strangers.
History:Lee Ye-jun was born on a cold night in December to a Korean muggle couple Lee A-Yeong and Lee Sang-Hoon. He lived in Chester with his parents, grandparents, uncle and cousin Eun-ji (then Carolyn) until he was 8 years old. He was treated well by his family but kids at school used to tease him for his looks. On top of that, his grandma often insisted he should be taken to a shaman since the lights around him seemed to be flashing whenever he got scared and locked doors suddenly unlocked whenever he needed to sneak in and steal some of her delicious cooking. This all made his mother quite irritated and after couple more “strange incidents”, his parents decided to move away.
At first, they just wanted to move to another city but then his mother, who was a talented fashion designer, got a job opportunity at Louis Vuitton headquarters. The whole family moved to Paris without giving it a second thought. The young Ye-jun who was fluent in English and spoke Korean quite well immediately started learning French. As soon as the family earned enough money, Lee Sang-Hoon opened a Veterinary clinic, where Ye-jun often helps, as he is very good with animals. He also has a cat and dog of his own, Corgi called Henri and a tabby cat called Madame Carmine.
Soon enough the "strange incidents" also got their answer when Ye-jun received his letter from Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. Around that time, his parents ceased any contact with their family back in Chester. They were worried Ye-jun’s grandparents would learn the truth about magic and wreak havoc on their lives. Ye-jun wasn’t very happy about that since he was very fond of his cousin but soon stopped asking for visits. His family became rich and his life became quite busy too. Still he always hoped to re-connect with the rest of his family. This seemed to become possible after uncle Edward called about his grandmother passing. Soon they found out Ye-jun was not the only one to have magic and it was decided the two families should come together again. To what extent remains to be seen.

I am adding a bit of backstory where Florian's parents own a large horse racing estate, to be handed down to his eldest sibling. They train horses to compete in races around the world, such as the Kentucky Derby, the Royal Ascot, and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. I haven't any backstory about what his parents do yet, but since this might be a bit abnormal for the wizarding folk I thought I might mention it here just in case.

Florian had always been a tad obsessive when it came to broom racing. As a child, he would set up racing tracks around their great estate - even before he could fly on a broom. The little waddling French boy would run his way through these tracks, dodging to and fro. But when he got old enough to fly, he and his brothers wanted to actually race on brooms. Being the littlest of his brothers, he could fit through spaces they couldn’t, and he would use this to his advantage - his cheating nature already exposed. However, as he got even older, this strategy didn’t work quite so well anymore, so he had to find other ways to become better at this.
Florian was not one to fail, and so the boy spent as much of his free time as he could working on ways to increase his evasiveness. This took many different forms: boxing with friends, spending time out on the Beauxbaton racing track, and even dancing. He figured that working on his agility and flexibility would be the best way to increase his evasion. The better and quicker you could move, the easier it would be to avoid things. As time went on, he began to hone these skills, even creating an agility type practice that he had dubbed ‘Broom Tricks.’ It was a mix of dancing, acrobatics, and flying, and it was now his favorite hobby, aside from actually racing.
Broom Tricks could be done both on the ground or in flight, but the focus was on not just being quick and nimble, but understanding gravity and your surroundings almost to the point of being able to sense something before it happens. It started off as an acrobatics type show performed on the ground; he would toss his broom into the air, spinning around underneath it before catching it and immediately tossing it back up again. He would toss the broom up from his left hand, dodge quickly underneath, and then grasp it with his right, leaving no seconds to pause before beginning to twirl the broom around him, continuing to do this non-stop for as long as he could before he became tired, or before he eventually ended up dropping it.
Practicing this kind of thing over and over gave him the understanding of gravity; how as his broom would fall, he could sense it, and know where it was in relation to him, and grab it quickly. This helped in the air as well. He has a much better sense of his personal bubble, and could now glide closely to an object without touching or bumping into it at all. There were certainly still things that would shock the young boy, but he had certainly managed to improve his evasion skills.

Reducio
Florian was born December third, 2008 to Èdouard and Èlodie LeRoy right outside the city of Strasbourg, France. They were told this would probably be their last child, as his parents struggled to conceive him. Because of this, they were sure to spoil him and gave him whatever he wanted. He grew up a very rambunctious child, as being the smallest of five boys proved to be challenging. His older brothers were all jealous of the treatment he received and they tended to pull pranks on him until they were old enough to attend Beauxbatons themselves, leaving him alone to be swooned over by his parents. He was 4 years younger than his closest sibling, the others all being only a year or two apart.
While his parents were both brought up in the magical world, a small remnant of their distant muggle past remained, that of their parents large horse racing and training estate. In all honesty, Èdouard and Èlodie much preferred managing the estate over many of the typical muggle jobs, and it had become common in France for other noble wizarding families to have a horse stationed at their training facility, in which the families would pay for the horses training and upkeep in the hopes they would win. They hired trainers from around the world to work with their numerous foals and fillies, training them for competitions all over the world, from the more local races, such as the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in Paris, to even some abroad, like the Kentucky Derby and the Royal Ascot.
His first sign of magic came at age 7 when all of his siblings were home for the summer holiday. As they tended to do, his older brothers were roughhousing out in the back garden. With no rhyme or reason, they pulled Florian into the scuffle. Things started to get more and more intense and little Florian couldn't handle it anymore. He let out a large yell of anger for them to get off, and realized he had accidentally sent his brothers flying back a few feet off the ground. He was shocked. Well, perhaps that would teach them a lesson! His parents heard his yelp and ran out back to see what the commotion was. His brothers were immediately ready to tell his parents what happened, hoping to get Florian in trouble. However, nothing could ever get their precious 'petit garçon' in trouble, and, of course, they were extremely excited that all five of their boys had magic. Shortly after, Florian told his father about his interest in riding brooms. His father, unable to say no and being an avid rider himself, then took the time to personally teach Florian everything he needed to know about flying brooms.
While he loved his parents dearly, as he got older he began to feel like they were too overbearing and overprotective, so he began acting out. Breaking the rules became a new hobby of his, and he loved sneaking off with his father’s broom out into the night. He couldn’t wait to get away from them, and was elated to get his letter to Beauxbatons.
Florian was excited to attend Beauxbatons, he simply couldn’t wait to learn magic. He doubted that his siblings would be there to help him at school… his best bet was to turn on his charming demeanor to make him some friends. He did this well, as he managed to secure a spot on the Beauxbaton Broom Racing Team.
While Florian was there to learn magic and have fun, he was desperate to prove himself, and to make himself stand out from his four brothers, and especially the eldest, since he would be head of the family business. This was one of the main reasons for Florian's poor attitude and why he was constantly practicing and trying to better his skills. He was the best, he just had to show them all.

Reducio2. Evasive ManeuversGrowing up with four older brothers who were all jealous of how their parents treated you was never going to be easy. As a young child, Florian stuck to the rules, no matter what they were doing, and his brothers would make fun of him or would easily take advantage of him. His parents, however, gushed over how such a lovely ‘petit garçon’ could also be quite the charming and sweet young boy, always the one to follow his parents every whim. As he reached age 9, he was beginning to get tired of always being the center of attention in his family, as well as the overbearing attitude of his parents. Something had to be done, he simply couldn’t stand being the goody-two-shoes ‘petit garçon’ anymore.
It was then he decided he would get back at his brothers and his parents. He would break the rules. That would show his brothers he had the ability to ‘stick it’ to his parents. Maybe he could finally be friends with them. When at home being tutored by his parents before attending Beauxbatons, he decided to put his new plan in action. The fastest way to be done with his homework was to cheat… then he could do whatever he wanted. When his parents weren’t watching, he would sneakily grab the page with the homework answers out of his parent's book to copy the answers on his homework sheet, and, more often than not, he was successful at it. While his parents would be upset with him when they did catch him, they tended to blame it on other things, such as his older siblings' influence on him. This just made Florian even more upset.
He decided that his next attempt at cheating would be something big. He knew he would be playing again with his brothers soon when they came back for the summer holiday, so he began to study all sorts of ways to become better at them at broom racing… and even the best ways to get around the rules. He was almost the best of them at flying, with all of the independent instruction his father had given him, and he was ready to put it all to the test. He casually suggested that they do a race out in the forests of their large estate one day and of course, his brothers were eager to prove they were better than him. Little did they know, the track that they typically raced on had been rigged for certain things to happen, as well as smaller areas were made to fit through than his older brothers could. This took Florian an entire day to set up, but it was well worth it. Of course, Florian ended up winning and he also managed to bump a few of his brothers around some while racing. One almost hit a tree! He was extremely proud of himself and his brothers were actually proud of him for tricking them so cleverly. Oh, they would still make fun of him for sure, but Florian earned a little bit of respect that day. From that day on, Florian knew it was not quite so much about skill, but about how you bent the rules in order to win. You can always get what you want if you break the rules….

A note on something that I noticed amiss - Beauxbatons students start school the same year they turn 11 (they don't need to be 11 at the start of September, just by the end of the year they start), which means your character - in order to be a second year - needs to have been born anytime in 2009 (rather than the 2008 birthdate I see in your profile)
The rest of the application here - Evasive Maneuvers and the added family background - is good, and can/will be added once you've updated your character's birthdate.
Player Edit - October 3rd
I have changed his birth year from 2008 to 2009.
I am also editing in now an additional stat point (+1 to evasion) from the broom racing win, with proof here!
Thank you very much!

Beauxbatons NPC
Name: Valentin Everbone
School: Beauxbatons
Year: Second
Status: Pureblood
Appearance:
Valentin's inherently dark features are a result of Italian ancestors on his mothers side of the family, his dark hair and eyes as well as his tanned skin contrasting with his French nationality. He has a strong build, and although he may look slender and possibly with lack of muscle, he is in actual fact quite strong whilst being very nimble and quick, owing to his time spent playing sports throughout his childhood.
Valentin is usually seen with a fairly neutral expression, if not more serious looking, but this is not usually a reflection of his mood. When he is not wearing his school uniform, which is far too light for his liking, Valentin will choose to wear black or at least dark clothing, and rarely adopts a very casual style. He sees each style choice as an opportunity to make an impression on others, one which he would not waste.
Personality:
Valentin is very independent and tends never to rely on others for help, such independence carries through into his friendships, he is not one to keep up the pleasantries with those who he is uninterested in getting to know, though will maintain a fierce loyalty to those he considers friends. Although not one to volunteer his voice to an open discussion, he is not one to keep his opinions to himself when he feels someone is wrong, and although he would, on most occasions, not go out of his way to embarrass someone, he would certainly enjoy it if he did.
Valentin values the traditions and ideas of both pureblood sides of his family and would consider himself a blood purist only in the lightest sense of the word, though he would not condemn the existence of wizards of other blood statuses he does hold purebloods above the rest. A view held by his father and grandparents, Valentin believes that purebloods have a biological advantage when it comes to magic, but not to say he thinks some muggle-borns cannot become just as powerful.
Having been born and raised in France, Valentin is a fluent French speaker, however his vast English family, including his father, meant that he was brought up speaking English as well, and is bilingual, speaking fluently in both languages. Spending his time mainly in France, with only a few trips a year to his family in England, Valentin does speak with a noticeable French accent, though one that does not hinder the understandability of his English in the slightest.
History:
Valentin was born on February 18th 2009 in Paris, France to English and French parents, Hugo Everbone and Aurelie Rousseau respectively, both work as Aurors for the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France.
Valentin's parents both attended Beauxbatons, though graduated three years apart from each other, and as a result never really met whilst at the school. Aurelie was born a Rousseau, a relatively unheard of French pureblood family, she made a name of herself however at Beauxbatons where she attained the highest grades in both her O.W.L and N.E.W.T examinations. She worked hard for these achievements as she realised, as soon as she knew what one was, that she wanted to become an Auror.
His father, Hugo Everbone is from a comparatively more well known pureblood family, the Everbone's. It is from this side of the family that Valentine also has two aunts and a cousin, Scarlet Salvatore, whom he has known since the two were toddlers. Hugo is a Parselmouth, a rare, but known talent within the Everbone lineage, a talent which he kept a secret to all but those closest to him throughout his time at Beauxbatons. Academically, Hugo put his effort into the subjects which were of interest to him, and those he felt were of value for his future career, focussing on Defence Against the Dark Arts and Potions. He met Aurelie during his first few years of working as an Auror for the French Ministry, and the two have lived in Paris together ever since there marriage, taking frequent visits to the Everbone estate owned by his parents in Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche just outside of Paris.
Valentin spent his childhood surrounded by magic, with both of his parents being wizards, as well as all his visiting family, he was home schooled by a private tutor arranged by his parents, as they felt he should not be taught amongst muggles, as they felt his magical abilities set him apart from them. During this time he frequently attended Quidditch matches with his father, and joined him in supporting his team, The Wimbourne Wasps, which although being an English team has personal ties to the Everbone family. From this, and his own love for competitive sports, Valentin began practising his own Quidditch skills in much of his spare time, thrilled by the feeling of being on a broom.
First Instance of Magic:
Valentin's first instance of magic occurred one evening within the study of his parent's house that was set aside for use by his private tutor, he was eight at the time and had been told by his tutor that he would be given a test the next day. Convinced that his tutor had been writing up the questions for the test during the day's lesson, he decided he was going to see if he could find them after the tutor had left for the day.
Choosing a time when his parents were preoccupied, Valentin snuck into the study and scanned the room, considering where the tutor may have stored her notebook full of notes. The desk positioned at one end of the room did not contain any drawers, so his gaze shifted to the shelf of books on the wall behind it, as well as the selection of textbooks, Valentin saw the tutor had also placed her notebook there. The shelf's position on the wall meant there was no way Valentin could reach it, so he moved the desk chair to a position from which he could stand on it.
It was still quite high, but just within reach if he really stretched; he did just this as he attempted to get it for a third time, though when pulling it down off the shelf, he brought with the glass jar of sweets kept at one end of the shelf. Dropping the book, he quickly tried to make a grab for the jar, though felt it slip past his fingers and worriedly braced himself for the shattering that was sure to bring his parents, but it didn't come. Watching it fall, it was as if the jar slowed down just before hitting the ground, making a only a small thud as it landed on the ground. As excited as both his parents and tutor were at hearing the news, he was still made to do the test the next day, the questions to which had not been written in the book.

Abilities: Interception (Year 1) & Statistically Relevant (Year 2) (Applications below)
Interception (WC=526):ReducioValentin had always had sharp reflexes growing up, such talents his father originally though might serve him well if he were to train for the Quidditch position of seeker. Valentin quickly realised however that it was the role of Chaser that he was best suited for. This was where he found the speed of the match was fastest, where his impact on the game could be highest, and of course where he could most easily score goals.
When Valentin was set on the position, his father made sure to find a competent trainer to help him develop and hone his skills. Most days, after finishing his private home-schooled classes, Valentin would carry out various drills and practise different manoeuvres on his father’s old Moontrimmer broom. The trainer would often enchant their quaffle to dart randomly between different spots on the makeshift small scale pitch they practised on. Valentin would sometimes spend hours until he was called in to eat, working on his ability to intercept the path of the quaffle, focussing on planning ahead to where it might go next and perfecting the ideal manoeuvre to smoothly grab it on route to the opponents side of the pitch.
Of course training with an enchanted quaffle was one thing, Valentin soon came up against the chance to put into practise what he had learnt, against other actual players. His trainer had arranged a friendly match to include many of the other students he was tutoring, as well as other young players, he wasn’t going to let the fact that he was younger than most put him off carrying out the skills he had learnt in practise with any less precision. There was some degree of initial thought adjustment, he was no longer just predicting the random path of a quaffle, now he had to decide what he thought the opponent team’s chasers would do next, what their plan was to get to his side’s hoops.
The first time Valentin attempted to intercept the quaffle in that match, he wrongly anticipated which out of the two other opponent chasers, the quaffle was being passed to, and realising his mistake too late missed out on a successful interception. Fuelled with the frustration of this mistake, Valentin wasn’t going to miss getting the quaffle again. With the quaffle once again in the hands of an opposing chaser he looked for the two other chasers on that team, and in a split second, made the decision on what was clearly the better option if he were them. He sped towards the invisible line he could imagine connected one player to the other – it was the short distance over which he knew the quaffle would be passed. The other team had no idea he was coming in from the side and he easily intercepted the ball mid-pass, his eyes quickly moving to the hoops now that the quaffle was firmly in his grasp. After the announcement of his goal, Valentin shot a slight grin towards the player who’s pass he had intercepted, whilst his skills as a chaser were something to be proud of, his graciousness in victory still needed some improvement.
Statistically Relevant (WC=480):ReducioValentin was always looking to improve upon anything he identified as personal weakness, and when there was weakness there was the chance of failure, something that Valentin didn’t like to risk.
As he began playing actual practise quidditch matches with friends and other practising young players he soon realised despite his high impact training for different strategies and manoeuvres during the match, he had no real experience, or knowledge of the stamina needed to maintain a high performance throughout longer matches. It was after the first couple of matches, when Valentin found himself tired and not playing to his best after only what ended up being half of the total match time, that he decided he would need to implement a new type of exercise into his practises. He opted for something simple, no specialist equipment or training to do, he would run. His family lived in the bustling French capital of Paris and so the pathways along the Seine naturally became part of the route in which he would go.
Choosing the quiet evenings as his preferred time to run, he would push him self to travel further along the river before turning back towards home with each new day, on odd days he would try something different and just see how far he could sprint before he had to stop for a breath. It took a couple of weeks for him to start seeing a noticeable difference, bet he soon realised he was now running longer, finishing the same distances faster and becoming tired less easily, and the results were evident in his quidditch too, with him now being able to play at top performance for much longer.
His stamina couldn’t do much to help him however when he was winded after taking a bludger to the side of his ribs, consequently putting him on the bench for the remainder of the game. He hadn’t been fast enough to dodge the incoming bludger after catching sight of it just before it made contact with him, and realised he was lucky to be able to have flown down to the bench rather than fall off his broom. Following a familiar practise technique favoured by his coach, he spent more time in training with one of the destructive flying balls, with it being regularly batted towards him to allow him to practise evading them safely. Their speed took some getting used to, and the frequency with which he was having to doge the bludger, he knew, was far greater than what he would expect from an actual match when there would be six other teammates as potential targets, but it allowed him to get better faster. Despite the odd bruise, or on one occasion, broken finger he came out with, he felt much confident about his ability to evade whatever the opposition might throw at him during his next match.

────────────────────────────────── ────────────────── ─ personality:─Lena is a weird kid. Quietly confident and strongly valuing truth and authenticity, the opinions of others mean very little to her. She can be quite difficult to engage with because of this, often coming across as blunt and even robotic due to this internalised indifference. Moreover, she has a tendency of thinking she knows best, and will therefore refuse to back down from her (usually carefully configured) plans to pursue alternative solutions.
Don't be fooled by Lena's cold demeanour - she can be surprisingly ruthless when getting what she wants, with a habit of being manipulative to satiate her never ending curiosities. She is unafraid to approach people who she finds interesting to ask questions, or those she finds not so interesting to use them as a means to an end. Despite being an introvert by nature, she is very sociable.appearance:A little short for her age, Lena stands at 4’5, with a strong but slim build. She has rather striking features: dark eyes and eyebrows and pale skin. Her hair is short, black and choppy. She dresses for comfort rather than fashion.
─
─ pre-beauxbatons:ReducioBorn to a secret affair between two young wizards, the unnamed baby that would one day become Lena Martins was put up for adoption soon after she was born. With the taking in of children from overseas being all too common in South Korea during that time, it was no surprise that she was adopted rather quickly by a muggle woman named Meline, who lived in Northern France.
Lena was always a very adaptable, open-minded child, and perhaps this was because she was so spoilt. Being a single mother with no desire for a male partner to ease the financial load, Meline could only live so lavishly, but every euro she had to spare went towards making her daughter happy. The girl was sporty, loved to read, and thus was always keeping her mind and body active. She often struggled to hide her disappointment when it came to her mother's choice of gifts (usually clothes, inconveniently sized accessories and blonde barbie dolls), but with such a natural indifference it might have been easy to miss. Still, Lena appreciated her mother for everything she did.
At school, Lena excelled. She was a curious spirit, and so learning of every sort came naturally to her. Her memory when it came to tests seemed near-perfect, and she was physically talented too. It was a shame that she was such a independent girl, much to her teammates frustration, because she would have been a fantastic player on the school football team.
Meline was married to her partner Jeanne when Lena was seven. Honestly, it was a bit annoying; Jeanne had always been a vague, floaty aspect of her life, being Meline's girlfriend and all, but since queer couples hadn't been allowed to adopt until Lena was four, she had never considered Jeanne her mother - just another person who sometimes came around for tea. She treated Jeanne with coldness for a long time after she moved in, which greatly disappointed the older woman, who just wanted a child with her wife. At one point, they even considered adopting another child together, but this angered Lena even more. After such a backlash from her, they decided to leave it. Whilst she did eventually warm to Jeanne, her relationship is one of distance even to this day.
Lena was surprised to receive a written invitation to Beauxbatons when she did - written all over her French homework, that is. It wasn't that she didn't believe it, more that the possibility had never occurred to her. She'd screwed her nose up (her handwriting had been very nice on that particular piece of work) before calling over her mother. The excitement at the reality of magic was felt more by Meline and Jeanne than it ever was by Lena.─ first magic:
ReducioHaving settled in to France at such a young age, Lena had no desire to meet her birth parents. That was, until, she started displaying signs of something... non-human.
These strange occurrences weren't common, but they happened frequently enough to become noticeable, even if only to her. The first time, she thought it had been a case of her memory playing tricks on her. As she recalled, the dinner staff at school had served her cheese flan one lunchtime. Not only did the texture make her feel queasy, but dairy upset her stomach. After asking for an alternative without success, she had sat down at a table, staring down in frustration. I'm not eating that, she thought defiantly, and before she knew it she was watching her tray fly away, cheese flan splattering all over the floor.
Lena sat there in shock. Once she'd been scolded by her teachers, and laughed at by her classmates ('She threw a tantrum because she didn't like the food? I didn't think she was so immature!') she resolved that it must have been her after all. That was the only logical explanation.
...Or was it?
This bizarre outburst was, unfortunately, only the beginning for Lena Martins. Soon enough, she was magically puncturing footballs when a game wasn't going in favour of her team ('Again Lena? Get your boots checked!'), enlarging Jeanne's make up so it was practically unusable ('Meline, I think I'm losing my touch...') and even inadvertently setting her more difficult pieces of homework on fire. Although none of this was done on purpose, Lena knew she was the cause of it. Things seemed to go wrong when she felt angry, or threatened, or upset. She was so passive on the outside, and yet it was very clear to her that something was bubbling inside her; something great or terrible.
The answer was bound to the identity of her birth parents. She was certain.trunk:quidditch player - beater

Reducio"You seriously don't like anyone?"
Lena narrowed her eyes, still rapidly moving her pen as she glanced sideways, working through the translation in front of her. Sometimes, she wished the teacher would just ask them to do silent work so she didn't have to worry about people trying to talk to her when she was concentrating. Today, this was especially true.
Earlier, in the playground, some of the other kids had been playing truth or dare, which inevitably transformed into a game of 'who likes who' and 'make them hug'. She hadn't been stupid enough to pick dare, of course, but even when she picked truth, and told the truth, people doubted her: 'you're just saying that to get out of playing' one of the boys had complained, disappointed when she'd answered 'no one' to the question of 'which boy do you like?'.
"Nope." Lena replied, when she realised the girl was still staring, eyes expectant.
"You're lying."
Mentally, Lena rolled her eyes. She wasn't even sure why she was entertaining this conversation. It wasn't that she didn't understand why she was being asked. According to the other girls in their year, at least, plenty of the boys in their class would be considered attractive. Many were tall and bright-eyed. Even so, she couldn't help but wrinkle her nose at them. They might have been pretty, but nine year old boys were incredibly annoying. That alone was enough to put her off.
"I'm not lying," she said with some finality. Her tone was usually flat, which she'd learned only made people trust her less, so she tried to add some tonal flair to it, hoping that the girl beside her would just leave her be. "I don't like anyone. Or want to hold anyone's hand."
"Not even Samuel?" she asked incredulously. Lena was about to respond with a touch more frustration when she added, as though this changed anything, "He runs really fast! Like, really fast!"
"No, I don't like Samuel, and I honestly think you're weird if you do."
The girl seemed quite offended by this, screwing her face up into an astonished frown. Lena finally let go of her pen, straightening up and turning around in her chair to look her square in the face. She didn't say anything, keeping her face indifferent. Maybe she'd finally understand that she wanted to be left alone.
"Calling me weird..." the girl muttered after some time, turning back to her desk. "You're the weird one. And not just because you don't fancy anyone..."
This might have been intended as hurtful, but Lena simply returned to her work, glad to be reading English rather than talking about Samuel.002Fearless • Immune to fear effects.
ReducioMost "scary" things become significantly less scary when you think about them for a bit, Lena reasoned. People were far too quick to jump out of their seat at frightening moments in the cinema, or cling to you when walking home in the dark, or become nervous wrecks after a horror story had been told around the campfire, no longer willing to go anywhere alone. This was obviously awfully inconvenient for someone who both took great pleasure in being alone, and was easily irritated by irrationally fearful people.
Somehow, however, it seemed that the same people who hid under the covers or behind their hands when watching a horror movie, and whined when they were left to brave the toilets alone because no one wanted to get up, took some kind of morbid delight in the adrenaline it provided them with. The screams dissolved into giggled, and the gasps into complaints as Lena tried to no avail to explain the terror away.
"Oh my God... oh my God..."
Movies were harder to enjoy when someone was whispering the whole time. Lena made a vague attempt to tug part of the stolen blanket over her legs as protection from the cold, but the other girls held it tight, scrunching it up in their hands. She was having a sleepover at a friends house. Normally, she didn't like sleepovers, but it was Léonie's birthday, and it was an obligation to attend birthdays, Meline had told her. For some reason, despite having a notorious receptiveness to fear, Léonie had elected horror as the movie genre of the night.
In a naïve attempt to console her, and hoping she might receive some of the covers in return, Lena leaned over and whispered, "It's only a movie. They do the same tricks. Look, the girl will close the cupboard and the killer will-"
-appear in the mirror. As predicted, the killer appeared in the glass before the victim, and the four friends beside her let out a shrill scream of pure terror. It hurt her ears.
"Lena! You're spoiling it for us!" came Léonie's protest only a moment later. The other girls chorused a 'yeah'. Lena could have groaned at that; spoiling it? For them? They were hating it! At least, that's how it appeared. She deserved to be forgiven for the mistake.
Nevertheless, after that ungrateful reception, Lena kept her knowledge to herself. Horror movies were at least a little fun, from a cinematography point of view, and it was quite nice to lazily chew on popcorn. She'd probably find an excuse to get out of the next sleepover. Who knew there were downsides to being so fearless?
Thank you for the feedback! I've changed her birth year to 2009 and age to match that. I've also underlined the changes in the impartial ability, and changed the first magic section complerely (sorry for the misunderstanding haha).PENDING - October 3rd (edits due by October 18th)

Species - it is listed as "Human… she thinks?" Please just state Human to avoid confusion (witches and wizards are still human)
First magic - It looks like there was a misunderstanding of what qualifies as accidental magic. Magic doesn't manifest in giving your character answers that she wouldn't know about homework, and the football incident is confusingly worded so I'm not sure what exactly you're saying happened. But some examples of accidental magic are setting a hat on fire when angry, falling from a great height with no injuries, or randomly sneezing bubbles.
Impartial ability - as this does specifically mean you're unaffected by physical beauty, try to include a detail or two about the fact that she doesn't find people physically attractive as opposed to just not liking anyone at all
APPROVED - an iNPC page has been created, Quidditch preference noted but not yet guaranteed. An additional note - we are aware of the popular show that this FC is from, and your character's personality seems to mimic certain aspects of the character on the show. This is a gentle reminder to RP as an original character and make sure to make this character your own.

- the muggle condition:ReducioExtracurricular: Broom Racer634 wordsCassie Heather McGregor-Martin was a muggle-born. Although it was hard to tell most people's blood statuses just from looking at them - unless they were haughty purebloods, it wasn't something people usually told others at first meeting - but it would only take a few conversations with Cassie for another to at least have the suspicion. Whether it was her constant grumbles about learning some 'stupid' spells ("When am I ever going to need to turn a flowerpot into a bird in real life?!"), her undisguised amazement whenever she encountered something magical she'd never seen before ("Hold up! You mean dragons actually exist?!"), or simply her confused expression when someone dropped a word she'd never heard before into a conversation ("Sorry, what? What's a 'bowtruckle'?"), everyone would understand sooner or later. Cassie didn't mind. In fact, Cassie Heather was quite proud of her heritage. She was proud of her parents, and she liked being different. It was annoying, sometimes, sure - like when she had to pay extra attention to some lessons because she was missing information that wizarding-born children would have - but she was proud.
Cassie Heather had only been at Beauxbatons for a few weeks when an older student laughed at her failed (and quite pathetic, really) attempt at a charm, calling her a 'mudblood'. This word was new to her, and when Cassie enquired as to its meaning (with flushed cheeks, as she was sure from the tone that it wasn't anything good), she was told mockingly that it was 'a word to describe people like you, who don't deserve what they've been given'. This explanation did not bode well for Cassie, so she next asked one of her friends what the word meant. Needless to say, she received a fuller and more sympathetic definition this time. The next day, she decided that revenge was necessary. She took a Muggle pen, poked a hole in it with the sharp end of her (also Muggle) compass, and dropped it into the older student's bag. The ink leaked everywhere and covered all of his school books, completely drenching them with black. Although the student could never prove it, he knew it was Cassie, and never called her a 'mudblood' again.
After that incident, Cassie decided two things.
Firstly, that the word 'mudblood' would no longer be an insult to her. She would take it just as she would take any other meaningless comment on her appearance or possessions - with indifference and the knowledge that whoever spoke it was not worth her time. There were just three things which Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin could not stand being insulted about, and her blood status would not be one of them. She would stand strong, just as he parents always told her to.
Secondly, Cassie made up her mind to be as 'obviously muggleborn' as she could be. Her 'skill' with just about any spell or charm other than counter-spells was essentially non-existant (or, at least, that was how Cassie viewed it: a 'spell' only ever seemed to work for her when she did it accidentally) and she vowed to rely on her magical power as little as she could. After all, she'd managed it for this long, hadn't she? She signed up for broomracing and then quidditch, both of which were games of physical and mental prowess rather than magical. She used a pen instead of a quill whenever she could get away with it. Once, she even asked her parents to send her an old travel CD player so that she and her friends could take it apart and she could show them what a 'battery' was.
All this, just to be different. Cassie Heather sure had a long journey ahead of her if she was going to make her idea of 'different' acceptable in everyone else's eyes.Content Changes: Some rephrasing and some additions. Additions in bold.

However, this is different for some negative emotions: although she is fine with letting people know that she is angry or even scared, she thinks of crying as a sign of weakness and refuses to cry in front of others if she can help it. She can keep cool in most situations, but often tends to slip up when trying to get excuses for her wrongdoings, which are sadly often as she likes playing pranks. Cassie is incredibly sensitive to any remarks made about her height, and anyone heard calling her 'shortie' or similar will likely be graced with an unpleasant retort and ignored for the rest of the week. This is the same for anything said about her family, religion, or friends. Cassie won't start fights unless there's no other option, but has no qualms in joining in one that's already been started if it's to defend a friend or for another reason she agrees with. Due to Cassie's outgoing tendancies and almost magical ability to do everything all at once, most people in a class with her will know her name. Quite a lot of people like her, but many find that her tactlessness and unrefined enthusiasm is a little too much for them to bare - not to mention her blood status as a muggleborn, which Cassie makes no attempt to hide.Reducio- HistoryOLD:NEW:Cassie has thin dark brown hair which she usually ties in a loose plait, and grey eyes. Though she is not by any means ugly, she is not particularly beautiful either and relies more on her personality than physical appearance.
She is quite short for her age, and is often teased about being the oldest in her year, but also one of the smallest.
She tends to wear muggle clothes when she can, but seeing as there are not many times when this happens in Beauxbatons, most of her wardrobe contains its light-blue uniform. When she does where muggle clothes though, she will mostly wear plain jeans and a t-shirt, preferring not to wear skirts as they 'get in the way'.
When forced to wear formal wear, she will resort to loose-fitting and light dresses with no frills or bows.Cassie has thin brown hair which she usually ties in a loose plait, and grey eyes which are usually either sparkling with mischief or set in determination. Though she isn't exactly ugly, she isn't very pretty either, a fact which she doesn't attempt to change and is even a little proud of. She is quite short for her age, and is sometimes teased about being the second oldest in her year (she missed out on the top spot by just a few hours [NOTE: this has been checked with Stanley Buttons, and her inpc Sebastien Batteux was born a few hours before Cassie was), but also one of the smallest. This is the only thing about her appearance that she's sensitive about, since she is a firm believer that it's what's on the inside that matters. It's unusual to find her without any scabs, scratches, or bruises from her time spent on the broom racing track and quidditch pitch, which also gives her quite tanned skin in the summer months, and her nails are usually bitten down to stubs. When Cassie isn't in her Beauxbatons uniform, which isn't her favourite thing to wear by a long shot (as proven by how little she takes care of it: a few buttons are missing from her coat and both her cravat and shirt are nearly always untucked), or her broom racing gear, which is scuffed and constantly covered in grass stains (something which Cassie is very proud of because she says it shows that she 'works hard'), she can generally be foundwearing jeans and a t-shirt, probably with some sort of slogan on it. She barely ever wears jewelry, apart from a rosary bracelet given to her by her paternal grandmother, which she is almost never seen without.Reducioadded the note given by staff when cassie was created, although rephrased because i've forgotten the original wording. also added her current opinions on SCAR.While at Beauxbatons, Cassie has been hearing sometimes disturbing rumours of a group named SCAR, run by squibs. She's heard some things that suggest they're a peaceful group who just want more rights for squibs, but also some that suggest they're terrorists who will do anything to meet their ends. [NOTE: this was not mentioned in the original mod addition, but i have permission from stanley buttons to say that he's told her about the disturbing rumours he's heard.] After witnessing first hand the results of their Hogsmeade bombing, during which Koldov studens her age were killed in cold blood, Cassie is starting to agree with the latter.Trunk Coding:ReducioCode: Select all

This came in useful many times as a youngster - whether to run away when she heard an adult's soft footsteps about to catch her in some act of wrongdoing, or to realise at the last minute that a much-needed prop was absent from the stage during a play - and seemed to carry on into what she proudly named 'the years of double digits'. Perhaps the most prominent, revealing, and - dare I say it - interesting of the times when Cassie seemed to notice something out of the ordinary was at school in Beauxbatons, at the age of twelve. She was talking to one of her friends after both going home for the winter holidays - les vacances d’hiver, as it is in French - and the two had a perfectly normal conversation about what Cassie's holiday had been like. Cassie noticed that her friend did not share any details of her own weeks, but did not comment on it until she noticed that the other girl was not wearing a necklace which Cassie knew she never usually took off. It had been a family heirloom which the girl had been very proud of, and when Cassie questioned her over its absence her flash of insight was rewarded - her friend had fought with her parents over returning to school, and had been keeping it a secret. Without Cassie's sixth sense, it was unlikely the poor girl would ever have shared the burden of guilt she carried. Cassie has never been particularly sure when it was that she started noticing things. An organiser by nature, she has been able to tell when something is missing ever since she was too young to remember - from the moment she cried for the teddy she didn't know had fallen out her cot at the tender age of one. Though many might call the 'niggling feeling' in the back of Cassie's mind whenever she is sure something is wrong a 'nervous habit', or simply say that she is 'being overly anxious', Cassie is certain that she can trust the feeling to tell her when there is something out of place or even missing entirely. She seems to be right as well - after all, her 'niggling feeling' - or, as some may call it, sixth sense - has never failed her yet.[/reducio][reducio]Year Two: FearlessCassie Heather McGregor-Martin is, it may be said, fearless. Of course, that is not really true - everyone has fears, and Cassie Heather would be the first to admit her own - but the young population of Paris seem to share a romantic streak, and bravery can often be mistranslated into fearlessness, whether as a result of jealousy, admiration, or even simple loyalty. Cassie has always had those things she has been afraid of - desease, rejection and loneliness to name a few - but she also possesses the rare ability to contain these fears, and even face them head on if the need arises. This courage is one of her biggest and most noticable personality traits, and enables her to do most of the things she enjoys, and a few that she does not. In fact, one of the first things you might notice upon meeting the only child of Pierre and Harriet is her outgoing personality: how she doesn't let the world stop her, no matter what. People can do what they like, Cassie often says, but so can I. This rather Gryffindor like world view mostly stems from her courage - and apparent fearlessness - which enables her to do just about anything and everything, from walking up to a random stranger and complimenting them on their new hat, to climbing on a broom and flying a course she has never seen before at a hundred miles an hour. Perhaps the most notable of times when she swallowed fear and gained the lable of 'fearless' was the first time she ever tried broomracing. Cassie Heather had seen from the moment she got onto a broom that she had a knack for flying, even on the rusty school brooms she had to deal with until her parents finally decided she could buy one, but when suddenly faced with obsticals the likes of which she had never seen before, she knew she had to try. The race that ensued was perhaps the most dangerous she has ever taken part in, to this day. All the first years were desperate to prove their worth as a broom racer, and it was a test of not just her sportsmanship but her courage as well. There were plenty of times during that race when she had the opertunity to give up, but Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin just couldn't. The blood was up, and she had gained a sense of adventure that would compell her to take the craziest risks, the strangest dares, the most impossible trials. This sense of adventure, and thrill of taking risks, she would never loose.[/reducio][reducio]Year Three: The Muggle ConditionCassie Heather McGregor-Martin was a muggle-born. Edited!APPROVED - stat updates and new ability added with new trunk code
PENDING - October 3rd (edits due by October 18th)
content changes - Something that was noticed during review: Beauxbatons students start school the same year they turn 11 (they don't need to be 11 at the start of September, just by the end of the year they start), which means your character - in order to be a third year - needs to have been born anytime in 2008. Please update your character's birthdate to a time in 2008. This also disqualifies her as being the second oldest in her year, so that is something worth noting since I noticed that is described in the content change.
All the rest is fine and can be added after you update birthyear.
Just looked it up again and it says the school years are still September - August, so does this mean that they would start their schooling at the age of 10? (So a third year at Beauxbatons would have been a second year in Hogwarts terms.) Because I've been roleplaying it so that Cassie recieved her invitation on her eleventh birthday and is older than all her friends in third year (fourth year in Durmstrang terms) at other schools. I've also mentioned several times that she's fourteen and by this standard she is now thirteen.
I'm also not sure why this disqualifies her from being second-oldest? I did just remember that since Lizzie/Stanley came back as a younger year Sebastien is no longer in Cassie's year, meaning that she would be the oldest, but I can edit again if needed, I was just wondering why.
Thanks!
At Beauxbatons, you are invited the year of your eleventh birthday. That means the current third years should have been born from January 2008 to December 2008 (of course, there is the possibility of an oversight like in this case), meaning the oldest students in a year would be those who are born in January. That means yes, anyone born between September and December start school at ten but turn eleven within their first four months of school. If this messes with your timeline too much - like you've had birthday parties and plotlines surrounding your specific birthday - please owl me, Marcus Iwasaki and we can sort it out.
APPROVED - I'll be locking this post, feel free to add your content changes, and any further discussion on the birthday can be brought to owls.

ReducioSummer. Summer was always agreeable for Maxi, and especially this one. Monsieur le Comte had accepted the Duke Springhall’s invitation for him staying over for July, and thus Maximilien arrived at the Springhall Heights as soon as his schoolyear ended in Beauxbatons. The Duke welcomed him warmly, and he soon won the old wizard’s favour - who agreed to give him some lessons on duelling.
We would skip the part of how Maxi won this special favour, as even the boy himself was quite ignorant of the reason. Maybe it was because of his fine etiquette, compared to Edmund and Lindsey - or it was simply because that the Duke desperately wished to teach some young wizards the art of combating magic. Maxi knew that Edmund was nowhere near the title of a duellist, and Lindsey was on her house Quidditch team, and the Duke wasn’t very into that - somehow he regarded duelling as “the only sport that’s worth participating”.
But anyways, everything started within a week he arrived. Maximilien began to visit the Duke’s personal studio daily at 10 o’clock in the morning, and showed up as the very last one for tea. Finding his interests in the ancient English books about duelling, Maxi was more than happy to expand his knowledge. He was a perfectionist and wished perfection in everything, after all. Practicing always came after simple reading. It would be countless times every day, when Maxi raised up his wand and uttered the incantation out. The Duke would watch over every single spell he casted at the dummies (the Duke Springhall did have one or two in his studio), and offered him some help. And then he would teach the young Frenchman some strategies and tactics, the latter found everything fascinating, including the stern looking old wizard himself.
But no. None of these were as fascinating - as grand as what happened the other day, when he was about to leave in a few days. It was just like every other morning in York, cloudy and a little bit rainy. Facing two dummies and having the old wizard closely watching, Maxi raised his wand up. “Flipendo!” he uttered in perfect English, which made the Duke’s knitted brows smoothed. As what both the old and the young had expected, one line of blue light flashed out directly from the point of Maximilien’s wand. It was perfect. Not the strongest version nor the most powerful one, but already ideal enough for a thirteen-year-old. Seeing the would almost certainly hit the dummy on the left, the Duke was about to say something, when -
It was all of a sudden, and it was unbelievable. But it was true. As true as he was named Maximilien René Pascal Jacques Vincent Louis de Fostoncy. The spell split in two and targeted both of the dummies. Both were knocked over, and Maximilien stood there with surprise, wand still raised up in the air. The Duke was just as silent as the boy was, sitting there motionlessly.
“Nice work, young man.” the old wizard finally started, nodding approvingly. “Few wizards can achieve that…only those who are truly talented…” Lowering his wand and stepping forward to right the knocked-over dummies, Maxi smiled at the old wizard. “Thank you, Monsieur le Duc.” he said softly, while slowly raising his wand up again at the dummies.
He utilized his left days in the Springhall Heights to practice and get tutorials from the Duke - who helped him to learn to control his split spell. Maximilien knew that a grander spell meant a higher chance of failure. So he had to practice hard, like what a true perfectionist would do. Day by day his skills improved. And although backfiring still happened occasionally, he was far more better than what he had done the very first day he when discovered his skill.
When he packed his things to leave for the Hogwarts Summer Camp on July 31st, it was raining outside. James Kingsleigh, the Duke’s clerk, offered to take him to the York train station, where he could set off for London. Maxi accepted this gratefully, and the two walked together silently in the rain, luggage in hand. James regretted not taking his wand with him, as they would only be able to conjure one umbrella using Maxi’s wand - instead of two, and Maxi shook his head. “I believe it’s alright, Mister Kingsleigh.” he smiled, while reaching for his wand. “Pluvia Velo.”
James watched the the young French boy conjuring two umbrellas and passing one to him in surprise. However, he remarked nothing. Just a simple, grateful nod, and the two continued their walk in the rain with two umbrellas. No one was going to get wet. The skill was useful - thought Maxi. Indeed.

It was not really a surprise, though, since his parents were all extremely good looking. Mélanie Janvaque was one of the most gorgeous girls in class in her school days, and Vincent de Fostoncy was secretly had a crush on by many students. Honestly speaking, no one in the family wasn’t good looking — from Louis to Maximilien. Successfully inherited his mother’s eye color and hair color, the boy was fairly good looking. He had good the straight nose of the de Fostoncy family, and thin, pink lips. His eyelashes were long, and were of brown color. His mother regarded him as a doll when he was sleeping. Actually, even if the boy’s awake, he was like a gorgeous statue. When walking on the streets in Lyon, Maximilien was looked attentively by many strangers. They stopped when he and his father passed by, and pointed at them secretly. Sometimes the boy’s ears would catch a few words like “handsome” “good looking” “lovely”. He was young at that time, and did not really take these things seriously. However his father was glad. Glad that someone had praised his son. Attending fancy balls played a large part in the family. Louis de Fostoncy, the current count, especially loved these kinds of activities. Taking the beautiful Madame de Fostoncy, the handsome Chevalier de Fostoncy, and the young de Fostoncy heir was just extremely agreeable, since whenever and wherever the family of four showed up, they would earn applause and praises. People admired the wealthy family, but especially, envied their beauty. They dragged the young heir near them, and examined him carefully, hoping to point some flaws on his face out. However, they failed. Maximilien was too lovely to find out a flaw. If you had to point something out, you might say that he’s a bit chubby — but he was still a good looking child. The old ladies especially loved this pretty boy. They talked with him for hours, even if the boy got bored. By the time he was eleven, Maximilien had became even more handsome. He had mostly grew his chubby cheeks out, became taller, athletic built, and was always dressed in elegant dark colored clothes. The boy was still admired and envied by many others, and the future count of the de Fostoncy family was highly estimated. Without a doubt, Maximilien de Fostoncy was always a lovely creature. WC | 405[/reducio]—year 2. perfectionist [reducio]Growing up, Maximilien had always been a perfectionist. Being stubborn, he wanted everything to be the best — which he would not regret afterwards. From the age of four, his grandfather forced him to stay inside the house and study spells and potions for the whole morning. His father was his mentor — and to his surprise, Maximilien did everything extremely well. One day Monsieur le Chevalier taught him a difficult potion, and within hours, Maximilien could revise the recipe correctly. Vincent was surprised. But what he did not know is, after he had gave the book to the young Maximilien and left, the boy copied the recipe for seven times. It was really long, but he still did it. Upon the time he was accepted into Beauxbatons, Maximilien was hard working student. He loved Charms and Potions, as well as Defense Against the Dark Arts. Most of his classmates had seen this boy working alone late at night in his dormitory, and many of them had seen him practicing spells in an empty classroom. The library was nearly Maximilien’s second home — he did not have many friends, so he visited there a lot during weekends. The boy wanted everything to be perfect. He studied hard, did physical exercises everyday, and kept a healthy diet. He was proud and stubborn, so it helped him to be perfect. Day by day, he continued to study in the library and his dorm. And as a result, he improved day by day. He received seven Os in his examination. His grandfather and father was really glad, but they still lacked knowledge of how hard Maximilien had worked. Most things were perfect — and that’s exactly what Maximilien wanted to see. He was overjoyed to see his academic results, and the boy decided that he would even study harder afterwards. He wanted himself to be the best, though he had never spoken it out loud. When it’s the summer before his second year, Maximilien spent tons of time reading in the library in the de Fodtoncy Estate. While his grandfather was busy showing off at friends’ houses, his father busy running the wine estate, and his mother busy visiting her own maiden family, Maximilien read, and learnt. He had briefly met his cousins for two days, and all they saw was the boy was reading whenever and wherever. Maximilien loved it, and decided to do everything well. His knowledge of spells and potions were extending every moment. It’s no surprise that he had already became a perfectionist — because, Maximilien de Fostoncy was just born as one. Just a simple, grateful nod, and the two continued their walk in the rain with two umbrellas. No one was going to get wet. The skill was useful - thought Maxi. Indeed. History: River was born in France on March 12, 2010. Her mother and father (both wizards) were named Raine and Auguste, River is the youngest of three children, she has two sister, named Flora (oldest) and Mabel (middle child) River and her family found out that Raine is going to have a baby just before she and her sisters went to Beauxbaton. River grew up in the countryside and lived a normal life, as a Wizarding family in a muggle run countryside, Her father did not let River go to muggle school for fear that she would say something about being a witch. River and her sisters learned school at home, until Flora went to Beauxbatons, and then Mabel and River were left to play together without their sister. With the three sisters being so close in age (only one year apart) they had a close bond. River was devastated when Mabel was killed in a car crash, on her way to a Muggle party with a muggle friend, which leads to her first magic!
River was sitting in her bedroom when she learned about her sister's death, she was heartbroken, and when her mother said that Mabel was not in any pain River got mad she stared to shout, and then she got so mad that her bed caught on fire! The family was in no mood to celebrate, so River's first magic was kind of a sad one.

His mother always scolded him for acting the way he did, but he couldn’t help it; it was impossible for him to put on a fake smile or act like he was happy and excited when being talked to by others. “Be more friendly, be more social” these words that his mother told him were played in his head like a record, over and over and over again. But the only reason she asked this of him was so her idiotic friends would compliment her on what a nice son she has. So did he care? Not in the slightest. All it did was anger him to no end. Why does he have to change who he is? If she didn’t like who he was she should have raised him better. At least that is what he thought. How did she expect him to be a peppy enthusiastic boy who prances around eagerly all the time? She was the one who sheltered him from the whole world because he's 'a weak little boy wouldn’t be able to survive in such a cruel society'. Although he never spoke back or talked out of turn to his elders, he always had a whirlwind of unpleasant comments rushing through his brain. When he did get the chance to meet other kids, most of the time they did not talk to him voluntarily, since they seemed kind of weary of him, like he’d bite their head off or something. In all honesty, he wasn’t a cruel or a particularly mean kid, I guess you could say he just had something that was off about him. One thing that was clear to everyone who met the family was that Enzo had an uncanny resemblance to his father. Although his father wasn't around much, when he was Enzo found himself looking up to him. He wasn't the best role model in the slightest but he was Enzo's father after all. So not only from looks, he resembled his father, but also because he had started to gain a lot of similar qualities to him. His father had an odd effect on people as well, but in his case, it was much stronger and more evident. It was obvious that the people he would talk to get easily intimidated by his presence and become rather uneasy. Enzo wanted to be able to do the same thing since he knew he could use it to his advantage. He knew if he had that edge to him he could effortlessly get people to leave him alone and was pretty much oblivious to that fact that he already somewhat was. [/reducio][inlinecode]COMPREHEND LANGUAGES APP ⇩[/inlinecode][reducio]Growing up in the Delcroix household would have been truly unbearable if Enzo had not taught himself to stop wallowing in his own pity and try to find a few small things that interested him and gave him something to do. Whereas a more typical kid may have found it boring, even the things like discovering how there was a world of knowledge tucked away upstairs gave him a rare feeling of excitement. In fact, after that particular discovery, he spent most of his free time in the attic, entertaining himself by scavenging through rows upon rows of the dusty forgotten books up there, and it eventually happened to grow to be his favourite and most treasured pastimes. One day when he had escaped the clutches of his tutor earlier than usual, he snuck upstairs and picking up where he left off, continued rummaging through and investigating a couple more boxes of books when one specifically caught his eye, but he couldn’t put a finger on what exactly had stood out to him. Perhaps it was how its spine was slightly peeling off from being quite obviously well-loved, or how its delicate pages were just yearning to be turned, but nonetheless, whatever it was he wanted it. So, he proceeded to stash it away in the inside of his sweater for later when he would go back to his room and be able to properly examine it. Later that night, before he went to sleep, he pulled the book out to look at it again as planned. Unfortunately, the title was somewhat faded so all he could make out from it was the word “languages” but, his original inclination to read the book, had surprisingly still had not wavered. When he finally opened the book and began to read, he was in an instant swallowed by its contents, and consumed with fascination. The book was filled with all sorts of details on magical languages and even had the basics for learning some of them. However, after skimming through it and everything it spoke about, the section in regards to Parseltongue was the most captivating to him by far. So, then suddenly devoted to understanding more about Parseltongue, all the nights following that day had been spent secretly learning and memorizing each page from front to back, as well as attempting to mutter to himself the sounds of simple words. Though he did struggle with that aspect quite a bit, he still did his best to guess the annunciations. The day he knew that he was actually making progress was when his mother had taken him out for a short visit to the zoo. After all that time of trying to learn parseltongue, he really wanted to test out what he had learnt and see if he was advancing properly. So day after day he had pleaded with his parents to take him to the zoo and reasoned with them that it would be beneficial to his studies. Not knowing that he had an ulterior motive, they finally agreed. The moment they got there he instantly rushed over to where the snakes were kept and went as close to the glass as possible to see if he could hear them. To his great delight he had made out some words here and there and that definitely helped motivate him to continue learning for he knew he was on the right track. As time went on there was ultimately nothing new left to read in that book, so it practically became a mission of his to find more books on the matter and find out as much information as possible. And in the end, he unexpectedly succeeded, to the point where he was actually pretty confident in his ability to grasp the essentials of parseltongue. While never getting the chance to meet a real Parselmouth to practice with, alongside not telling anyone of his developing skill, all that was left to him was what the books enclosed, which stopped him from ever being able to speak fluently. But on the upside, it was not that bothersome to him for he frankly impressed himself with figuring out how to just understand. Funnily enough though, even after all he knew, he fancied the process so much that he was not intending to stop searching for more knowledge anytime soon. Obnoxiously StrongReducio“You want to do the sports with me?” His father asked with raised eyebrows. The boy was never too interested in any specific activities before so his reaction was not too surprising. He was usually content, running around with his cousin. Now that his family moved to Paris however, Ye-jun was a little bit lost and didn’t have time to make many friends just yet. “Yes, I’m bored at home and you do all sorts of things. You can teach me.” He could, his father probably just worried that he was too young… The boy knew he always hoped he would get interested eventually and that he inherited some of his talents but that was something they had yet to figure out. Now he was willing to give it a try. “Are you sure? You know I get up early in the morning to exercise, right?” Ye-jun knew this but he was prepared to follow his father’s examples. He was not only bored but also wanted to do something for himself. He seemed to be struggling compared to other boys when lifting heavy stuff and that just wouldn’t do. This was a new start for him and he wanted to leave a good impression on his classmates. He wanted to be popular this time. “Yes, I know and I don’t mind. I can do it.” He said determinedly. His firm resolve was probably what convinced Lee Sang-Hoon to give it a try. Also, it was an opportunity for some father son bonding, which would be appreciated by both of them for sure.
And so Ye-jun started exercising often. His father eased him into it, obviously bearing his age in mind and only gradually adding more if he felt like he was ready. Soon both men figured out, Ye-jun was indeed talented when it came to sports. He enjoys running the most but he is willing to try almost anything. Due to this, he soon developed some muscle and was indeed able to leave a good impression on his classmates. Stronger than the most of them, he was highly respected among the boys. He didn’t always know how to approach others but sports allowed to him to bond with them quite easily. He would always be grateful to his father for showing him the ropes and never failed to train in his free time. It was fun to him and running also helped him to clear his head whenever he was troubled with anything. Kept him healthy too. It was definitely a smart decision on his part to ask his dad back then.
Lovely CreatureReducioYe-jun was not a particularly pretty child. In fact, he was often teased for his looks during his childhood. This had an impact on the young boy and as he became older, he started placing huge importance on his looks. His mother worried at first but it turned out his dark unhealthy skin, spiky black hair and a set of way too big ears was just a phase. Once the boy grew up a little bit older, he started changing. His face morphed into a much more handsome shape, he grew into his ears and he started taking care of his appearance as well. He is not shy to admit that he takes care of his skin and nurtures his silky hair to perfection. He also took on a regular exercise, running being his favourite, to make his body stronger and more muscular. It is most likely that genes helped in his case as well since both of his parents are very beautiful people. Ye-jun heard many jokes about being adopted as a child but now, nobody dares to question his heritage. When the family enters a room, they tend to draw much attention to them.
On top of all that, living in Paris with a mother that works at Louis Vuitton headquarters also provided Ye-jun with opportunity to learn much about fashion. He knows what looks good on him and he has a financial means to acquire it. Most of his wardrobe consists of various designer brands, whether it is a suit or sportswear, it has to carry a famous name. He isn’t a male model but he probably could have been. He has an aura of confidence around him and a stellar smile if he decides to give it. The lush, brown hair groomed to perfection and flawless skin complexion is a sign of his perfect health. People had always remarked that his best feature are his entrancing, deep chocolate eyes. He is now very comfortable with his looks and always walks with purpose and authority, drawing many eyes in his direction. Ye-jun secretly enjoys said attention but he seldom shows it, not wanting to appear too vain or arrogant, which only adds to his charms. His only blemish was that his perfectly shaped eyebrows sometimes knitted in frustration as he is not the most sociable human being but from afar, he is definitely a sight to behold.
Sixth SenseReducio“Oof, did they spill an ink in your notebook again?” the young girl asked curiously, sounding a bit irritated. Ye-jun looked up at his cousin. She was always there to help whenever he needed it the most and he truly appreciated said fact. “Yeah, my notes are completely ruined and it’s all over my hands,” he admitted with a sigh. Eun-ji sat down next to the boy. His classmates liked to play all kind of jokes on him and he was too nice to retaliate. They were mostly harmless but it did made his life difficult at times. “That’s okay, I’ll lend you mine but you really ought to take revenge on those little brats.” It was pretty strange for the calm girl to say such a thing. They were both raised to be polite and it was usually him who got carried away but it was true that she tended to be passionate when it came to her friends or him specifically. They usually protected each other. “Nah, I don’t want to cause any trouble. Grandma would be upset with me again.” This much was true and enough to persuade his cousin to let it go. “Alright, in that case, you should do your best to ruin their fun and be sure to outsmart them.” Ye-jun tilted his head curiously. “How?” He honestly wasn’t sure but she was always the smarter one out of the two of them. Surely, she had a plan. “Well, there is no specific way to do it really. You just need to pay more attention to your surroundings. You are good at remembering stuff and keeping track of any changes, right?” Yes, where she was naturally intelligent, he was a hard worker so he agreed with that one. “So…you should pay more attention to detail. At this point, you know their ways and you know the school. You always know how to avoid grandma when sneaking into the kitchen, don’t you? I still don’t know how you do it.” To be fair, Ye-jun wasn’t entirely sure how he did it either. He just observed people and he observed the scene and he always seemed to know when something was out of place. He was caught so many times before that he learned to stay super focused and watch for any signs that something was amiss. “Hmm…I guess you are right. If I could fool grandma, these kids should be no major problem. It might be my secret talent actually. Maybe I was a spider in my previous life.” The little girl cringed. “Ew…not a spider!” She always loved animals but spiders gave her the creeps. “Hey…don’t hate on spiders. My spider senses helped me sneak those dumplings into your room yesterday, did you forget already?” Yeah, his observation skills were very useful indeed. He would keep working on those for sure, it would come in handy.
Thank you for your reminder. I fixed it. Hopefully it's okay now?PENDING - October 8th (edits due by October 18th)
