It's an arranged betrothal
After first year Opeila lost her parents and was adopted by blood purist friends of her grandmother. They are trying hard to integrate Opeila, who has been raised like a muggle all her life, into pureblood society and because of that will arrange a betrothal once both Opeila and Miles are of age (characters can't get betrothed when under 14 and Miles is still 13). Her seer gene makes up for her lack in blood purity in their view.

I'm tired lmao. My grandfather, the one I love, and introduced me to D&D (because without him doing so, i wouldn't have gotten to know harry potter or RP with yall.) He got me two more goosebumps books (Werewolf of Fever Swamp... and... Ghost Camp) and one D&D book (Dungeon Academy)
