Since her new age Rose knew there was something different with her and the others children of her ages, even her friends. She quite couldn't know what it was and why it was like this but she was always feeling something weird inside her, especially when an event or something uncommon, unnatural was happening. She often felt worried and anxious about it without knowing what she was feeling. However, she definitely was more aware of her surroundings and environment than other people.
One day she decided to talk about it to her mom explaining to her that whenever she was finding herself in a odd, weird strange situation she felt on the alert and her heart was racing. She couldn't ignore and think to something else. Her mom asked more details and to describe when this happened to her. Rose took the example of when her brother, Ewan, got his first instance of magic. He was 7 and Rose was 5. Her brother was playing football with his friends but 2 of his friends started to fight. Ewan, who didn't like much conflict got annoyed and asked them to calm down and just forget about it. His friends didn't listen to him and it got on Ewan's nerves who got angrier and angrier until one of the street lamp explodes. Rose was sitting next to the football ground reading.
Before the incident happened Rose was calmly reading when her brother's friends started to fight. Her attention got off her book not because she heard them raising their voices but because she suddenly felt something weird in the atmosphere. Something had changed. Indeed it had become heavier and tensed, as if it were going to rain. She frowned and looked up at the sky. It seemed to her that clouds got more numerous and the light blue sky darkened. She thought something was definitely going on. In addition to that she notices the birds were not singing anymore and they had left and there was a tinkling and creaking sound coming to her ears even though she couldn't distinguish from where it was coming. She started to got worried something odd or bad might happen. Seeing none of the boys including her brother seemed to have noticed this sudden changes she stood up and started heading off to them when the street lamp suddenly explodes. Things began to feel normal again even though Rose could still sensed a light tension from where the street lamp was. She noticed only at that time how fast her heartbeat was. It actually got faster as the atmosphere changed and tension raised.
Her mom told Rose actually sensed magic was going to occur. She explained her when unnatural or odd events happened some people feel something is off, something has changed before or during a situation when others -as her brother and his friends- don't seem to be noticing nor being affected by the changes.
“She looked towards the dark, starry sky wishing she could drown in its vastness, the way one drifts in the deep, endless ocean.”

- Rose seems to be kind of omnipotent with her 'ability' to feel emotions, guilt, lies and magic from someone. I feel like we need to add more about how she picks up on this, more environmental cues. It feels very different than a Sixth Sense ability when you are all of a sudden able to be an empath that reads emotions and aura. Sixth Sense is more about noticing subtle or unsettling details in the environment that feel off before anyone else realizes.
It's less about reading emotions and more about sensing anomalies. Something weird or unnatural, or something odd in general is going to happen or is going on. If Rose is to pick up on magic or deceptions, what anomalies give that away? What in the world reveal that truth rather than an "aura"?

Ever since she was young, Geneva had always been one of the “gifted children.” She just never seemed to have very much trouble with the work other children struggled over. To the adults, this was spectacular. But to Geneva herself, it was a bore. She wished that she could be given challenging schoolwork, material that stretched her mind and pushed her to explore.
Because she got good marks in all of her classes without trying, she decided to push herself. She would dig deeper in all her subjects, learn each topic as completely as she could. She studied the origins of math- how ancient philosophers had noticed patterns hidden in their world and written them out into theories. She was fascinated by the ancient world, and all the things they had discovered with so little to go off of. The more she studied, the more questions she had, and although she hardly understood all of it she still tried to absorb as much as she could.
Then one day a representative of Hogwarts School came to her home, and everything changed. Suddenly, Geneva was a witch, and a whole new world of knowledge was opened up to her. Answers to questions the ancients had only dreamed of could hide in this phenomenon of magic. She could hardly wait to see her spellbooks. In the days between her discovery and her trip to Diagon Alley, Geneva took a break from studying. All she could manage to do was dream of the depths of knowledge that would soon be hers.
As soon as she had bought her schoolbooks, she set to work studying them. Potions was riveting, although confusing, and it didn’t seem like she’d be able to learn any more of it without a teacher. She could say the same of Transfiguration. History of Magic was absolutely fascinating. She’d never imagined so many other creatures inhabiting this world, each with their own unique histories.
However, her favorite subject to read about was Charms. This was something she could understand. Although she didn’t attempt to cast any of the spells with her wand (she’d learned enough of basic wizarding law to know not to do that), she learned the theories so well she could’ve cast them in her sleep. Wand movements, intention, and incantation could do things she’d never dreamed were possible to do. Some made ordinary tasks easier. Others did things she could never do on her own, such as repairing a broken thing or making objects fly. Geneva was determined that, when she arrived at Hogwarts, she would be ready to face whatever they threw at her. She would be as good of a witch as she could possibly be.

Ever since she was very young, Wyn had always loved stories. At first, her parents simply thought it was because books were always around—the shelves her father built were constantly filled with blank journals waiting to be bound and the growing collection of her mother’s old herbology books. But for Wyn, reading quickly became something more than background. What started as quiet moments paging through simple picture books turned into a private world she could step into whenever she liked. Each and every story was like a journey: one that led her into woods she had never been to, to peaks where ancient creatures were sleeping, and to streams that were full of the soft voices of magic.
It was not out of necessity or command that she was reading, but it seemed as if every single page was like opening a new window to her world. On top of that, it was not only learning guides or nature logs that her attention was drawn to. While she was very loving of identifying the plants and birds in the woods, it turned out that the books were she was most that were stuffed with wonder—fairytales, myths, legends, and the stories that had been murmured ages ago around the fires. Tales of the stars that moved but were in fact the spirits, woods’ sprites being smart, ancient tree guardians, and huge creatures talking in riddles.
Wyn didn’t love grand heroes or fierce battles as much as she loved the quiet magic that was woven through the world—magic that seemed to be very close, like a friend, living. Her mom was fond of old herb lore the most, while her dad liked stories that were done with care and patience, but they both were supportive of her inquisitiveness. They didn’t attempt to direct her in any way; they only permitted her to love what she loved. The more Wyn was diving into books, the more she was thinking. Were there real magical creatures who watched from the shadows of the world she knew? Were there spirits of ancients more ancient than wizards that lingered in the forest close to her village? Not at all. These things did not scare her. Rather, they touched her with a slight melancholic kind of yearning. Wyn was long into fantasizing about what she would learn at Hogwarts when she got her letter. It was not only magical and charming but also knowledgeable. Understanding. She wanted to meet creatures others misunderstood. She wanted to care for them. To listen. To treat magic not as a tool, but as something living. WC - 432

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
It was the second week since the classes started, and most first years were still nervous about everything, including him. Zephyr couldn’t tell how everyone else was doing, but whenever he’s in their common room lounge, he noticed some worried faces around him, especially before their first flying lesson. As someone who grew up in the muggle world, he never really used a broom aside from cleaning, and now, he would have to make himself believe it will fly with his command. It was ridiculous but he tried not to think too much about it.
The particular morning, they have their first flying lesson and a group of students were already gathered on the open field . Their professor was already waiting with her whistle, and several school brooms were lined up on the ground evenly. Some students looked excited, others terrified and he was somewhere in between. The boy standing next to him looked so pale and kept mumbling he’s going to fall and he knew it. Feeling sorry for the boy, he smiled at him and said, “It can happen, but it might not either. Besides, look, the grass looks soft enough.” The boy looked at him in surprise and then laughed, some color coming back to his face.
“Say ‘Up!’” Their professor called to everyone as the lesson began. They all obeyed and his broom zoomed into his hand right away, the boy’s broom beside him didn’t move at all. You can see his frown as he stared at it. “Don’t yell at it. Try again. Just focus and say it calmly.” Despite what he said, the boy was full of doubt but did as he was told. The broom twitched next, then rose a few inches off the ground. He grinned, “See? You got it, just keep trying again and again until you’ve succeeded.” When it was time to hover, that’s when madness started. A few students panicked the moment their feet left the ground, one screamed, and another nearly crashed into a bush. Their professor ran back and forth to ensure everyone’s safety and no one’s falling. The boy’s broom shook badly as he tried to stay hovering. “It’s too high,” was his complain even though they were just two feet up.
Zephyr looked at him and spoke in a friendly way, the same way he would usually talk to one of the animals back home on the farm especially when they’re restless. “Don’t look down. Look straight ahead. Take a deep breath and just keep your balance.” The boy did as he said and slowly breathed in and out. The broom finally stopped shaking slowly. Throughout the lesson, the boy managed to fly a small circle without falling once. When they landed, he expressed his gratitude. “You’ve got some kind of calm magic or something.” he said to him with a smile. He just laughed. “I didn’t do anything special, I’m just trying to help him.”
That night in their common room, the boy told everyone how he helped him calm down and pass their first flying lesson. Zephyr found it funny, but come to think of it, it was not the first time someone said that to him. Back home, he grew up in a farm and his daily chores usually involve helping his parents take care of animals and fix things there. Their way of life was the one that taught him patience and focus. From helping around and doing chores, he learned that animals respond better when you treat them well using calm voice and gentle hands. So, he naturally developed a better way of dealing with issues despite how difficult the situation may be. Some say they feel more relaxed and calm when he’s around. When he thinks about it, he had done nothing special, it’s just the way he functions. He’s kind, patient, and that alone can change the atmosphere in a room. He didn’t think of it as an ability, for him it was the right thing to do in those kinds of situations, something that naturally grows from who he is which was based on his upbringing, his empathy, and his way of seeing the world around him. Or was it something more that he needed to be aware of?

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):

Mary was one of those kids who just seemed to try and be perfect at everything she did. Of course, it was near impossible to achieve real perfection, especially in things like music, where you never know when you could make a mistake. Even so, she tried to be perfect, or as perfect as one could get. She always strived for perfection, even when she was told by innumerable people that it was unattainable. Wherever be it, whether at home or at the muggle school or at her mother's tuitions, she tried to do whatever she did do right the first time. If she could not get it, she'd try and try to get it perfect, whatever she did, and wouldn't rest till that goal was achieved. She honestly had no need to be such a perfectionist in whatever she did, for her parents, adopted parents though, were rich and could afford to have other people do her work, or just get it done for her. But Mary always wanted to do her things herself, and perfectly. This even went to the level that a critic or the most ill tempered of people, try as they might, simply weren't able to find anything wrong in what she did. When she prepared food at home, no one had any reason to say it was bad. No one found a hair in the rice, too much salt, or honestly anything wrong! Even picky people could not grumble, for she would have researched their food preferences before cooking the meal, making sure it would be perfect for everyone. To her parents though, this was something to be proud of. It wasn't an extremely common thing to have a kid who tried and was actually as close to perfect as one could be. Nothing was different during studies of course. Her scores in any test, quiz, or exam would never be anything less than a perfect score, impressing both her muggle teachers and her mom, who knew how hard she worked at these things (good thing she had a quick brain!). Whatever anyone said, all through her life, and now soon to Hogwarts, Mary was a perfectionist of the highest level, someone who would try her hardest to get whatever she attempted absolutely right every time. Maybe it was also a good time to remind everyone to watch out for her spells! For Mary, was and hopefully would always be one who strived for excellence in everything she did!

Name of Applied Ability: Poison Resistance
Why It Applies: Luna-Katherine has been around poisons and medications from a very young age. Her mother, Nataly, is an apothecary who originally went to school to be a chemist, but failed to earn her degree after she got married and became a mother. This background in Chemistry allows for Nataly to excel as an apothecary; therefore, she finds faith in her accuracy and organization, so much so that she allows her children to come to her apothecary shop to watch and learn. Many a time has Luna-Katherine been exposed to toxins before she was old enough to recite their names from memory, due to her continued wish to be close to her mother and older brother, Finlay. This is because Nataly is confident in her abilities to provide sufficient treatment should her children ever interact with something toxic enough to poison them.
As Luna-Katherine has grown older, she has continued to find interest in the plants found in her mother's shop, specifically in the ones she was never allowed to touch (such as foxglove and belladonna, which can both be used for medicinal purposes if in the right dosages). She has been allowed to experiment with plants that her mother approves of to see what they will do to her, as well as experimenting with making her own antidotes and treatments to help sell in her mother's store. Starting out small, with plants like poison ivy and camellias, she would test them by ingesting them and rubbing them onto her skin to figure out what they did; occasionally this would be supervised by her mother, especially in cases when she would eat these plants, so that if anything went abhorrently wrong, someone was there to help. Eventually, she was able to reach a point at which she would be able to ingest the regular plants considered highly toxic to other people and not have as severe of a reaction---almost a nonexistent reaction at times---as most others.
I primarily think giving her this ability with nonmagical herbs and plants, plants and toxins she has lots of experience with, will grow her character exponentially. Not only does she have confidence in herself when it comes to her abilities to identify and treat poisons and toxins, she has confidence in her mother that she was taught everything right. This could prove incredibly interesting as she learns about magical plants and such in the future. She has not been raised around magical ingredients that could be toxic, and as such has almost no clue what to do when facing these magics unless she can fall back on her own natural understanding---and the most likely outcome of that is her understanding failing to hold up under magical circumstances. This could cause her to seek out the help of others, to try to find her own way to combat this inexperience like she did when she was younger, or it could lead to something I haven't thought up yet.

Being a Prodigal Student in the field of Transfiguration almost from her first year, it only made sense that her skills must go further than the regular Hogwarts curriculum. Despite being the most dangerous field of all, she went for it, because all great wizards and witches were masters of Transfiguration. It basically meant that you can do almost anything. Not mentioning that certain Transfiguration spells are the most fearsome she heard about.
Back at the school, she had access to Restricted Section, as she was also Prodigal in the field of Charms. So studying Transfiguration spells was just a matter of time for her. There were a few places — book stores — which had just the literature she needed in her free time.
So, the advanced books on what the advanced transfiguration operated on — it was not just mere concentration, it was like using up your energy if you were not careful enough. At least while you study it.
The spells seemed so complex — way more complex than anything she learnt before that. The Bone Removal Spell… Insect Hex… Skull Mutation… Who in their right mind came up with these spells in the first place?! And then… They’ve learnt quite a few “Human to” spells in their curriculum, but this?! Human to Bone. The difference between what they learnt was that this time the first part of the spell had to be dead.
It took her all her courage and determination to finish the basics of the Advanced Transfiguration, and survive through all those immensely difficult spells description. Especially, with all those means to use them. But it was her field, she felt very confident in the area of Transfiguration. She did not miss a single Transfiguration Today publications for 7 years since she was advised to subscribe to it in her first year. If she was not meant to endure this and master, then who else would?
And then there were moral choices. The Urchin Hex — what kind of enemy one should have to cast this upon? Some described effects meant a decent person would not try this on any other living being ever. Unless one is completely evil. Honestly, some spells just must have never been invented in the first place.
From one session to another, day after day, she concluded that the knowledge she was gaining was a huge responsibility. Some effects might be irreversible, so paired with her non-verbal and wandless skills, it required more concentration than usual, or anger management — not to cast something accidentally while being cross with someone.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Evasive Maneuvers
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Throughout his life, the Corranado boy had watched his mother and father succeed in life to the point of giving him everything he ever wanted. He had watched his parents turn ambition into achievement. Yet what impressed Luca most was not their wealth, but the discipline behind it — the quiet certainty that success came to those who prepared. Luca was fortunate to have a loving nanny who was extremely intelligent, and with the help of his parents, instilled in him a strong work ethic, determination, and curious mind. During research done in his first year at Hogwarts, Luca had decided that he wanted to pursue a career as an Auror. This was, of course, subject to change in an ever-growing boy who was discovering new things about himself and the world around him, but his studies were focused on this endeavour for the time being.
His favorite subjects at Hogwarts thus far were Defense Against the Dark Arts and Potions, as they both lent to his chosen career path. Were Auror not his chosen career path, these would still be practical subjects to know because the Dark Arts existed for more than just those who sought to use them. With this in mind, Luca had also recently decided to apply for the Slytherin Duelling Team, and there was one concept that he knew would serve him well as both an Auror and a Duellist: if they couldn't hit you, the strength of their attacks would not matter.
Having primarily focused on his academic career, Corranado decided to prepare himself for duelling and his career path by learning how to evade nasty attacks or offensive potions thrown at him. To this end, he sought to excel in Evasive Maneuvers. He had learned a lot about all of the different spells that could harm him, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and potions that could be used against him in Potions class. He felt that it was essential to learn how to dodge these attacks so he could be effective with his own.
Evasion fascinated him most. Spells could be deflected, curses could be blocked, but the perfect dodge required intuition — a blend of awareness and precision. As he learned to become more resourceful and confident in his own way, he developed a more evasive nature, serving himself in multiple ways. He had hoped that this would make him an excellent Auror, Duellist, and general practitioner of magic.

Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): Anna was someone who wasn't too different from everyone, except for a few things, and one of these few was that whenever she played dodgeball with her friends, she would always emerge the sole victor, as just in the nick of time, she would get out of the ball's way. Maybe she just had quick reflexes or it was just instinct, but it was something nice all the same. She was just very nimble and would dodge anything coming at her with ease, sometimes making others stare thinking How can this kid dodge so well? Anna loved playing these games, and not just because she won, but because she had a thought that one day, they might be attacked, and learning to dodge was a very good thing, and to evade any kind of attack (of course, this was before she learnt about duelling, when she did learn about it, she was already good enough anyway to dodge anything that came her way with ease). Anna practiced this many, many times till she was so good at dodging that even if someone came in the dead of the night, she'd still be able to dodge any projectile thrown at her. This ability proved useful when some crazy motorcyclists on the road went on top speed and she had to quickly step aside to prevent a collision.
When she learnt about wizarding sports, where evasion was a very useful and important thing, even though she was brilliant at evasive maneuvers whenever an attack came her way, she still practiced, having her muggle friends chuck stuff at her without any notice (objects that weren't breakable of course, else all their parents would be really mad that a vase or something of the sort was broken) and she dodged them all.
When she came to Hogwarts, this was not just something special she didn't need to have, it was a necessity. Of course, she was in Ravenclaw where people would more likely be studying or learning new things than chucking stuff at one another, but there was no guarantee that all other house members would be the same. And peeves, and students throwing stuff everywhere, and in quidditch matches, if she wanted, bludgers had to be dodged else it would mean something broken in her body.
Anna was a master of evasive maneuvers now, someone who could dodge anything that came her way. No need to even yell at her 'Watch out'!

When I was at the muggle primary school, I was always top of the class in Physical education, and I was determined to be top in Flying at Hogwarts, as I thought it would be a similar type of subject. Flying had interested me, even as a small child, reading fairy tales. I thought it would be amazing to leave the ground behind, and be able to go anywhere in the world, as free as a bird, able to see lots of amazing places from above.
However, when I arrived and did my first lesson, even though I got full marks, I felt like I could've done better, which always frustrated me.
After that first lesson, I'd been to the amazing library, and taken out almost all of the books that I could find about flying, and the history of flying, and read them all so many times that I pretty much knew Quidditch Through the ages off by heart! I always read extra books in subjects that interested me, or I felt like I could do better in, but now I was at Hogwarts, it was a different level of reading for lessons, where I was determined to be able to learn the spells quicker, so I could spend more time in the air.
My parents were quite pleasantly surprised with how much I wanted to be better at flying, but supported me, because, as teachers, they were always happy when I wanted to learn something new, and they also enjoyed hearing facts about the magical world.
Over the summer holidays, I'd bought more books about flying from Diagon Alley, and read them all lots of times, so when I got back into my flying lessons, I remembered all the facts I'd read, and the lessons seemed so much easier than they had the year before, which made me extremely happy, as, like most people, I enjoyed having a lesson that came to me quite naturally.
I had always been quite stubborn when I wanted to learn things, so I quickly managed to learn all of the facts I needed to, and, as I was quite athletic anyway, I found that practical flying was very easy once I'd learnt how to do it properly, and I found that flying was as good as I'd always imagined it to be, and I found it a fun way to cool off after doing harder lessons in stifling rooms inside the castle.
