Amadea handed her Sarsaparilla flavored butterbeer over to Bloom who looked as though she was still trying to recover from the foul taste of the licorice. Amadea tried not to cringe; just imagining the taste of liquid licorice made her want to puke. No, Amadea was definitely not going to be asking for that flavor.

Elijah, on the other hand, seemed to be enjoying the butterbeer that he was tasting. Sweet and Spicy was the flavor name, and it seemed to describe the flavor perfectly. While Amadea was drawn to it by the sweetness, she was simultaneously drawn away from it because of the spice. According to Elijah, it was tasty, but had a kick. Amadea decided she would stick with her Sarsaparilla.

Looking through the list of all of the other butterbeers after Bloom offered a butterbeer to Amadea, she felt as though she had tried all of the flavors that had popped out at her. The others all seemed to be either quite similar to something she had already tried, something someone else had disliked, or flavors that Amadea knew she wouldn't like. Plus, she was becoming a bit antsy after standing in one place for so long. "You know what?" Amadea said. "I think I'm good on the tasting for now."

She was about to suggest heading over to the Mixing Tent to try to make their own butterbeer when Bloom piped up with the same suggestion. "Actually, I was about to suggest that," Amadea said with a laugh. She turned to Elijah. "Do you want to head over with us or stay and try some more?"

Amadea was honestly quite excited at the prospect of getting to make her own butterbeer. While she wasn't known for her baking or cooking skills, how hard could it be to make butterbeer? Even if it turned out terribly, which Amadea was sure she had the skills to do, Professor Nagal was there to help brew some potions that could fix any gone-wrong butterbeer.

Interacting with Amadea and Bloom
They, as a group, managed to agree on several things, making Elijah finally feel welcomed into the conversation. The girls had exuded an air of maturity and seniority when he had been first approached by them, but after Bloom's outraged outburst at the black licorice, the ice seemed to be broken, and the conversation was flowing freely.

The Ravenclaw then proceeded to suggest that they hit up the Mixing Tent. Truth be told, Elijah wasn't quite sure what that entailed- he was sure that it still had something to do with butterbeer, of course, but were they mixing different flavors of butterbeer? Were they creating their own butterbeer? Were they making butterbeer floats, and would choose toppings like from a buffet?

If there was anything that he learned from his school, it was the professors like to give events misleading names.

Amadea assented, and it was clear that the two girls would eventually form at the very least a tentative alliance, if not a fantastic friendship. It was the invitation that Amadea extended out to him that surprised him. He had thought the two older girls had only put up with him because there were professors present, but did they actually, genuinely tolerate him?

"I'd love to come with you," Elijah said with a gracious smile. To his surprise, it wasn't all a lie. Sure, he wouldn't love to go with them, but he thoroughly enjoyed their company. He enjoyed their company enough to willingly spend more time with them, in a potentially dangerous tent. "Shall we, then?"

Finishing his butterbeer, he discarded the cup, and let the older students lead the way into the Mixing Tent.

Interacting with Professor Nagal & Professor Ayers
Serena hobbled down to the grounds, rolling a barrel on the grass. She had struggled to get it down the stairs but eventually managed to do so. The liquid inside it sloshed around, making a noticeable noise as she rolled it through the grass. She frowned, questioning why she had to do this nonsense. Honestly, what went through Siege's head? Serena would never know. She questioned it a lot through.

Earlier that week, the Hufflepuff had a delivery. She had expected perhaps a letter from her mother, telling her about how she was in the wrong house still. Or perhaps an outfit from her mother, that she was meant to wear to the upcoming Halloween party. Perhaps something normal... Maybe her father decided to send her a gift to cheer her up. Who knew. What she did not expect was several barrels of Butterbeer. Yet that was what she received. It was equivalent of one hundred cups of butterbeer, in fact. Serena had to double check the note, before triple checking it. Every time she looked at it, however, it was addressed to her. The Hufflepuff looked baffled, unsure as to why she had been sent so much butterbeer... But the name on the note cleared it up. It was signed off from Siege. Siege Aramastus Bal, the troublemaker and absolute nuisance of a boy that she knew last year.

Only he would think it was appropriate to send someone this amount of butterbeer, which she was pretty sure was not even permitted on school grounds. Serena sighed, unsure of what to do with it all. She genuinely thought it had been a delivery for the butterbeer festival that she knew two of the new professors were planning on doing in a few days. Finding her name on the delivery was baffling, to say the least. Serena had rolled her eyes, cursed her breathe and frowned heavily at the barrels until she figured out that she could just give them to the butterbeer event coming up and pretend that was where they were meant to go... She decided it was safer just to pretend that the Head Girl did not get one hundred butterbeers sent to her by a former friend that now attended school with her older brother. Ah this was all so confusing.

At least, that was the original plan but now that she was rolling this heavy barrel up a small hill to get to the butterbeer tents, Serena was massively regretting it. She should have just taken the note off and left it there for someone else to take. There was no doubt that the troublemakers that lived in Hogwarts would enjoy the free butterbeer party that they would have gotten if she had done that.

Approaching one of the tents, she looked around for a professor. Honestly, at this point, she did not even care who. She just wanted to dump the barrel and leave. She spotted a small tent closest to the school. From the looks of it, it was relatively quiet but had a few Professors standing around. Serena paused for a moment, trying to recall their names. Honestly, she could not even remember. There were so many new professors. One of them looked familiar but she taught an elective that Serena did not yet study. The other man was newer but had probably been here for about a month. He taught her... potions? If she recalled correctly. That sounded about right but she could not be sure because boy, oh boy, was she behind on her potions attendance.

Man, she was a failure of a prefect but it was kind of excusable when you were busy dying every time Professor Lear took the children out. Rolling the barrel up to the professors, she paused near them, "Excuse me, Professors? I'm sorry to disturb you both but... Can I please give you this?" She asked as she indicated to the huge barrel by her feet. Her expression clearly marked a tired one as she panted slightly. The barrel was heavily than she was. Her arms were sore, even though she had just rolled it all the way here. If she did not manage to find some students to help her earlier, Serena would have died trying to get this down the stairs.

"It's a barrel of butterbeer for the event. I think it's just a spare one but uh, I thought I should leave it here." Serena explained, dropping off the barrel. She really hoped they took it because she did not want to roll it anymore. In fact... Serena had no intention of giving them a choice, "Oh, sorry, I have to go. But yeah, please pass that on. Thank you, Professors!" She replied as she quickly waved a hand goodbye and legged it back towards the castle.

Finally, she had gotten rid of at least one of the barrels of butterbeer. Geeshhh, she would kill Siege if she ever saw the idiot again. Who thought it was a good idea to send someone a crazy amount of a drink that they were not even allowed to have on campus? Especially when the recipient of the said drink had taken a position of responsibility.

Infelicitas.

Already struck with infelicitas, bad luck, from her first drink, the girl made a face as she pulled back, a sour look on her face. Perhaps today simply did not agree with her. The girl stuck her tongue out at the cauldron as she tilted the spoon inward, allowing the amber mixture to flow, viscous, from the gourded wood. Maybe it would be a better idea to simply go back up to the Ravenclaw Common room and huddle in her blankets instead... after all, someone else ought to have chocolate that she could steal.

If Cel had been an optimistic person, she might have recalled to herself that her fingers were no longer freezing off, and that her eyeballs no longer seemed filmed over by a sheet of beige from reading for too long. Unfortunately, she was not so much positivity-emanating as what she regarded as realist, and such thoughts did not deign to appear in her mind. She was, instead, left with the words irritated and tired of butterbeer.

Yes, it was high time to leave. Although she was not looking forward to the long climb up the West Tower, she also did not hold in good hopes the notion of continuing to freeze outside. No, back in her dormitory where the temperature could bend to her will-- that was where she belonged right now. Besides, a year and some more after that of making treks up and down the staircases of the towers as well as the entire castle itself had strengthened her legs, even if they it hadn't quite warmed her to the exercise just yet.

Briefly, as her feet hit the crunchy ground outside the tent and her face was buffeted by cold wind, she considered seeking an antidote to her nausea. Her lips had been seared in the small area that the butterbeer had touched-- thank goodness she'd only taken a small sip. She'd gotten sweet, all right. But the nausea would fade; it had already faded some, and the burns were trivial at the moment.

Shivering, the young Ravenclaw rubbed warmth into the fingers of one hand with the other, then proceeded raised it to touch the side of the tent lightly and step out into the chilled air. Truly, she was unaccustomed to cold, even after all her time in Oxford-- cold blood, Parker called it as he would smile. She shook her head, allowing her hair to fall over her ears, and swept back a glance before a quick departure.

The children were happy. People were meeting new potential friends and bonding. She had done her job for the day. It felt like a success, at the very least, seeing the smiles on the faces of all of the students around. For the most part, they looked happy and cheerful. She could not be sure, of course. But her job here was a little different from the other professors' roles. Whilst the majority of them were here to teach students, Hjørdis was one of the few professors that did not actually teach. She was here to supervise, taking a more administrative role. Her job involved the supervision of the other staff and the students in her house. Their happiness was part of her management.

Hjørdis drank some butterbeer, as she glanced around. The festival was rather lively, full of children in both the tasting tent and the mixing tent. A number of Professors had dropped by too. For the most part, people were pleasant and polite. There were only a few that she questioned but that was a story for another time. Filling her glass with some more butterbeer, after downing the remainder of it, Hjørdis walked around the tents to make sure everything was fine.

It had been a few hours of fun and mingling. Students seemed to enjoy themselves, from what Hjørdis could see. Children in the tasting tent were rather polite, to be quite honest. The majority of them seemed to actually ask for the butterbeer, rather than just take it themselves and people stuck to the limits. The children at the mixing tent seemed to be having fun too, though a few might have gone a little overboard. Hjørdis made her way down to the potions tent that Professor Nagal had set up earlier. It was definitely a good idea when mixing was involved. If Professor Griffith had drunk the butterbeer that she had brewed for him, he would definitely need something to help. The potioneer would simply have to play nurse today, it seemed. Luckily, it appeared that Griffith did not bother drinking the butterbeer, which just caused Hjørdis to smirk silently to herself.

As she approached the potions tent, she quirked an eyebrow. She noticed a young Hufflepuff leaving a barrel of butterbeer by the tent, besides Professor Nagal and Professor Ayers. It was strange but the female walked over nonetheless, quirking an eyebrow over at them in the hopes that they had more information than she did. Hjørdis had accounted for all of the barrels in her order. There were none missing, nor did she expect any others to show up. She could not help but wonder where it came from. Examining the mixture careful, she knew it was definitely butterbeer inside it. She was careful to make sure nothing else had been mixed inside but on examination, it looked like well brewed butterbeer, that was safe to drink. She left it there, allowing students to take a glass as they were leaving if they wished to.

As she looked around, she frowned a little. The beautiful weather had held up so far but the approaching grey clouds loomed over their heads now. She did not like the sight, not at all. If there was one thing she disliked, it was being wet. Rain ruined her clothing and her hair, it totally wrecked one's appearance as well as just made them cold. Of course, she could dry off but Hjørdis did not enjoy the fact that her appearance would get ruined - even if it was only for a brief moment.

Reaching down, she pulled out her wand from the side of her boot. It had been tucked in neatly into her right boot, just in case she needed. Hjørdis flicked her wand, whispering the incantation under her breath. The tip of the wand instantly produced an umbrella, prepared for the rainfall that suddenly started to pour. This was Scotland, after all. British weather was famed for its sudden downpours of rain and one always had to be prepared for it. "Everyone back to the castle!" Hjørdis called out to the students as the rain started to fall. The reason why she was telling them to go back was obvious enough without her requiring a need to explain it further. She would pack away everything later but for now, getting the children back into the dry and warm castle was the priority. She really did not want to deal with sick children - that was even less tolerable than the healthy ones. Children with colds spread them everywhere. It was gross!

The weather had held up so far but it looked like the Butterbeer Tasting session was now over as the rain started to fall. Oh Scotland, no one could even pretend to be surprised at it. With that, the festival ended and Hjørdis hurried back to the castle with all of the students after she packed away.
