Callie couldn’t help but frown when Pericles hit the deck. This duel only went from bad to worse. The fact that the opposing team had relied so heavily on obscuring vision had only made things so much more frustrating. Perhaps she would need to practice far more than she did already for the next season.

Pericles tried valiantly to get back in the fight, even after all he'd gone through, but the time was running out, and it was too late. The Gryffindors, perhaps sensing that the duel was almost at an end, would duck and dodge through the fading smoke, but no spells would come. The Ravenclaws must have known that it was over. The Gryffindors had neutralized them with the weather, and there was no more coming back from it.

Usually this was the hard part, picking the victor, but this time there was no question. The Gryffindors had used a strategy Jake had never even seen before and while it hadn't been the EASIEST duel to watch (with all the smoke and fog) it had definitely been interesting. If it wasn't for the lightning he might even have enjoyed it... But now he just wanted to get this done with quickly so those who had been hit could be tended to.

It's over! Gryffindors wins!" Jake said hastily, rushing forward to make sure that Pericles was ok after all the lightning. He knew how it could feel to be struck twice...
