She saw nothing. A flicker of darkness, an uneasy feeling and it was gone. The scenery looked perfectly normal. Rolling hills, the occasional cow or sheep, a few fences and puffy clouds. Another ordinary afternoon on the train ride back to Hogwarts. The odd shouty boy really had been lying then. Scarlett huffed in annoyance, eyes darting outside to where people were all flocking out of their compartments, wands drawn, following the idiot who wanted to use them for some sort of practical joke. Well Scarlett knew a prank when she saw one, and she had to say that this one in particular wasn't very well thought out. At least she had some people of sense sitting with her, the Elena girl and Marshall.
"Scarlett," she said with a nod in response to Elena's introduction. She gave a critical look outside. "Yeah, everyone on this car is an idiot for thinking that the boy was actually telling the truth. The train never goes wrong, and it hasn't for like - what - a thousand years or so? It's magic. Magic trains don't malfunction."
"And no, I didn't see anything so evidently nothing is wrong," she continued. "Just grass, and cows."
She sat there in a comfortable sort of silence as Elena did her word-search (Antidisestablishmentarianism - what type of word was that?) and Scarlett started to become a bit more daring with her boomerang, going so far as to throw it into the air in the cramped compartment. She heard a bit of noise outside, but figured that was probably just everyone being annoyed when they realised what the boy had said was a lie. Opeila and Katrina would probably be returning soon. Scarlett didn't bother to look out of the door to see the commotion. Smugness would course through her when she would finally be the smart one who didn't fall for anything.
But she heard noise. Spells shot. Maybe that was just people being angry at the boy? Doubt started to prickle but she pushed them down, firmly not looking at what was going on outside. She heard noise. The voice of her fellow Beater right outside the compartment, shouting about something that sounded like it definitely was not to do with a simple train prank. Maybe there was actually something bad on the train?
Impossible! screamed the stubborn part of her. Don't go outside and give them the satisfaction!
But when the word SCAR was called, Scarlett sprang up from her seat, eager to figure out what was actually going on with a reasonable excuse for her getting up after not believing what the boy had said one bit. Sometimes people called her Scar, despite her various warnings about nicknames. Usually, these people were her friends. Perhaps Henry had found his way onto their car?
"I think someone called my name," confessed Scarlett. "I'm going to go check it out."
She grabbed both her wand and her boomerang, though tucked the wand in her robe pocket, to show that there was probably no real danger out there. She slid the compartment door open and fell headfirst into chaos.
There were spells flying, people punching, random old people at the front. She noticed the boy who had told them to get out of the train was slumped on a compartment door, bloody. Someone was trying to help him. There was a suitcase - people - Katrina, Opeila - wow. Scarlett didn't know how crazy the action would be, but this scenario definitely scored a 10. The creepy older strangers were victims of most of the students' spells, and since Scarlett had never seen these people before, she figured they were probably the bad guys. Why else would everyone be attacking them? There was also the case of who had said her name, but Scarlett would deal with that later.
She rushed nearer to where everyone was packed together, and an amazing thought popped into her mind. Well...why not? Katrina was in the process of punching an older person, Opeila was stumbling back and people from compartments nearby were emerging to help and attack. Scarlett would help and attack as well then.
"I would insult you now," said Scarlett snarkily to the nearest stranger. "but your face is an insult enough."
Dang. Scarlett congratulated herself internally before remembering she had to actually fight the person. She took aim and fired the boomerang, hoping it would hit the stranger before banging around and hitting everyone on the car.

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. Was the singular word racing through AJ's mind. It seemed he was no longer paralyzed, so now the impact was really kicking in, as well as cramps from having been still in a small suitcase for so long.
Worse than that, it sounded like there was quite a ruckus going on outside the suitcase. Arguing students? It sounded like more than that though, it sounded like danger.
Suddenly, AJ felt hands on his fabric prison. Someone fumbling with the zip, muffled voices, an incantation from further back. "H-hullo?" His voice was still weak and croaky as he called out, it was probably inaudible. Soon enough though, light entered the container and he could finally be free.
He waited for his saviors to be clear before springing up to take in the scene around him. Well...springing up was a strong term, more shakily got to his feet as sensation returned to him, only to quickly duck his head as a spell flew past.
It was danger after all, a lot of danger, danger so dangerous that standing around pondering how dangerous it was only made it more dangerous. "Thenk y-..." He croaked quietly, probably drowned out by all the yelling of incantations. He did his best to offer silent thanks as he jumped away from the suitcase narrowly avoiding another shot.
Instinctively he drew his wand, whilst his dueling partner attempted to convert his former prison into a projectile.
Not the most glorious of entrances for the Captain of the Pride of Pendrast, but it would have to do. He got back to his feet and took in the unfolding carnage. Another wand in this mess probably would only make things worse. Besides with the dryness of his throat he doubted he could be of any help anyway.
He silently cursed his earlier gullibility, and looked around for anything. Any way he could be of use. How did their attackers even get aboard the train?
The young Lion's eyes turned towards the window. The scenery outside. If he couldn't be of help here, perhaps he could get help in some way.
Fortune favoured the stupid...or something like that.
Without a word he put his wand away and sprinted to the window, flinging it open and letting the cold air in, blowing his winter coat back. It would probably look like some kind of hero's cape if that hero wasn't a thirteen year old boy doing something incredibly dumb.
Without taking any more time to think about it AJ pulled himself up to the window, looking for something to grab onto on the outside. His bright blue eyes came upon a hand rail sticking out of the side. The kind of thing the train...warden...person might've held on to whilst the engine pulled out of the station.
He vaulted over the windowsill, dangling himself dangerously close to the rail below. The blisteringly cold air feeling like it was cutting his skin., he would press on. He wanted to be of use. He brought himself as close as he could before reaching out and grabbing onto the hand-rail. The cold metal hurt his hand but he grit his teeth and pulled himself over. His body swung clumsily and he almost slipped, which very much would've been the end of him.
Taking as much of a breath as he could he began scaling up the rail, carefully but quickly, until he was able to pull himself onto the roof. Once on top, he would survey the scene.
Action: Climbing onto the roof of the train to see if there's anything noteworthy. If there isn't, will look for the maintenance hatch to a different carriage.
Note: Him reaching the roof is all hypothetical, if you decide he falls and goes splat, I will assent to that.

The trek to the next car would be cut short. Who thought of making the train aisles so narrow? Xailah continued towards Meenauh, pushing through the thin passage. A flat smile took to one corner of the Metamorphs mouth, at hearing Vladimir's uncertain fumbling's. Everything was going swimmingly- that was until someone called towards Meenauh. The voice of Galton Lansdale was never a reassuring one to hear. Not to the metamorph at least. Her run-ins with the retired Candy King had been less than pleasant. She chittered absently. Gold, feline eyes met oceanic blue. Xailah observed Meenauhs brief exchange with Galton, in mild exasperation. The two lionesses would continue down the aisle, once the small talk was over. They would nearly reach the end, but then they would be interrupted for a second time. The second distraction would cement them in the car.
An incredibly obnoxious "Yee-haw", vibrated through the train. Xailah cringed, bringing one hand towards her ear. What was that? Some sort of war cry? Never in her fourteen years of existing, had she heard such a sound. Shouts followed after it- a sickening crack too. Xailah knew that noise all too well. Her time at Hogwarts had acclimated her to the sound of bones breaking- of flesh and tissue tearing. Attention would be ripped away from the quest at hand. She would turn just in time to see a spray of blood curve through the air, and Vladimir hit the window of the compartment nearest him. Five men in funny hats and... masks(??) invited themselves into the Gryffindor car. A mistake. Of all the cars they could have picked, they had selected Gryffindor- the one house that would not only kill the men, but themselves as well, and destroy at least half of the train in the process. Lions weren't the friendly sort, when they saw their kind being shoved around.
For S.C.A.R! Shouted one man. A heist. Announced another. Wands in the bag- ordered a third. One would call Vladimir by name. Damn it Vlad. Anyone who read the paper, would be familiar with that word- S.C.A.R. This wasn't good. It was almost déjà vu. An order, a resistance, a fight- blocked exits... was this the Masquerade ball of 2019 all over again? No of course not. Those men clearly weren't Half-Giants, and this was on a train. Even worse. Movement was very limited. Xailah pressed Schrödinger close, as she watched the... "heist", unfold. She looked to Meenauh in alarm. Something would click, as she remembered something from the night the ballroom burnt down. The doors. She turned swiftly, bounding over luggage that was cluttering the aisle. Meenauh would order the metamorph to get help.
One step ahead of you Meena. Getting help admittedly wasn't her first concern. She just wanted the door opened. Hearing the beginning incantation of the fire spell, Incendo, caused the metamorph to quicken her pace. The door needed to be opened. If that spell was successful, and if it spread, like fires often do... Gryffindor house was toast. Literally. Course, if the fire didn't get them, then the smoke most certainly would. This clearly wasn't the metamorphs first rodeo. Lumos Maxima, seemed to be a favorite spell of Meenauhs. Xailah heard the incantation from behind, amongst the scuffle- as well as something else. A throaty growl, an angry shout of sorts- someone made the giant angry.

She nodded solemnly at the girl, it felt nice to have a second opinion. There was no way in Merlin anything could disrupt the train and knowing she had someone to back her up on that opinion was nice. They would be Hogwarts in due time and that foolish boy would be even more embarassed than he was now. "Yeah, I know, it's like he wa-." Her sentence was cut off as her head tilted towards the compartment door where a lot of loud vocals were bouncing around. Elena swore she heard a country accent or something, no, she heard several. Something about wands? "I don't think you should go out there." The girl said as, a flash of concern as she managed to catch some of what was being shouted watching as Scarlett exited. Okay, maybe that boy whatever his name was hadn't been all that foolish. What on Godric's soul was happening here?
Exhaling a sigh, the third year got up from her seat sliding open the compartment door to peek her head out. The girl almost had to laugh at what she saw. That boy from earlier had clearly been decked by someone in a very brutal manner and there was some sort of scuffle involving, what on earth were those hats? It seemed like typical Muggle attire if you asked her, not something she was used to seeing in these parts. One thing however was clicking very clearly in her mind, these men were not supposed to be on this train and certainly not bulldozing over students. Elena Jangleton for one was not going to be relishing her wand to anyone and before they got to her compartment, she would make sure that specific problem was taken care. She thought about grabbing Flutters out of the overhead compartment but decided against it, all the flying spells and fists, the owl was better in his little cage.
Retreating back into her compartment, she slid the door shut looking back at the other resident, a lone boy. "Okay, maybe he wasn't lying. Help me barricade this." The girl would say fising out her wand. Right, they had better have brought a battering ram or something because there was no way they were going to be getting in here. "Colloportus!" Elena muttered waving her wand at the compartment door hoping it would lock. She knew it wouldn't be enough as she inwardly cursed her own lack of thinking. Her trunk was stowed away and there was nothing remotely heavy to block it with. "Any bright ideas, this isn't gonna hold long." She would say out of the corner of her mouth, wand at the ready waiting for any potential cowboy bandits that might try to break through. Hopefully, the scuffle outside would be slowing them down while she and the other Gryffindor were barricaded inside.

“Fleeing?” Rafael would state. “There’s a difference between running and deciding not to associate with someone. Figures you wouldn’t be able to differentiate the two.” Then, crossing his arms, “Does it matter, whether or not you fired at the ground? You still fired in my direction – using a very dangerous spell to force me to do your bidding. It’s only natural that I take action against you.” He would shake his head, looking to his feet and biting his lip in discontent at the mention of contact once more. He really did feel bad about that. She might not believe him – he was great at masks – but not everything he spoke had to be one. Then, deciding to move on, he would speak up at the appropriate time, “Projecting?” he chuckled with a sad smile. “Whatever do you mean? I have nothing to hide.” He spread his hands outward, body language assisting his case perfectly. “Obviously, if this conversation is anything to go by.” He would chuckle again at her next bold assessment. “Pity, that’s rich,” he would add, a bit of defensive bite to those words. “You’re not sympathetic. Pity doesn’t instigate violence. Call it what you will, fool yourself all you like.”
And, as he had anticipated, things quickly spiraled out of hand. Wands were pulled, glares exchanged – “Ana,” he spoke in a low voice, his eyes suddenly wide as he feigned wariness perfectly. “Ana, come on, it’s not worth it.” The sight of the rose, however, shortly filled the child with dread – he stepped back suddenly, the bad memories rushing back. A hint of frustration pierced his voice sharply. “Put that away,” he snapped in a whisper, his once wary demeanor shifting to one of sudden shock and subtle fear. This fear was warranted, and very much genuine. Then, his tone shifting in volume to a gentle inside voice, “If that is what I think it is, it should have no business in this compartment. You don’t understand what those are capable of. If you have a debt to settle, do it with your wand. Maintain your honor.” He may not have a clean track record, but there were things even he didn’t deign to do. If that rose was anything near what he thought it was, he could only imagine the danger it could wreak on him… or worse, Ana. He couldn’t bear to see her on fire again.
“Apologize?” he stated in shock upon the next advance, this time originating from one of his dormmates. Another Jackson? Or maybe… Jake, was it? Last he could remember, he hadn’t talked to the kid in a long while. And wherever did he get the notion that Rafael disliked his seeking skills? Oh, that was right – he was the new Gryffindor second-stringer. The idea made the Captain chuckle – funny, the imbecile boy wouldn’t have been on the team if he hadn’t exceeded in the tryouts. Rafael had shared no such negative feelings with the child, hadn’t uttered a word against his ability on a broom. But that wasn’t the point, there were bigger issues at stake. Th Gryffindor shifted his vision upon Eve once more, his hand dropping to his side easily as he sighed deeply. “I think not,” he conceded. “I’ve done nothing but voice my honest opinions.”
Rafael would be lying if he’d stated his noninterest in the shiny badge plastered upon the robes of the co-captain. On the contrary, the very sight of the bright metal tugged at the confines of his chest, leaving him with an uneasy sort of feeling. What… fuck, okay, wasn’t expecting that. However, it was best to maintain his control over the situation… whatever he could control, anyways. He chuckled, nodding shortly. “Ah, a new badge. How quaint.” His eyebrows shifted up, one raised in an unimpressed look. “Though authority’s never stopped a Gryffindor before.” He shrugged, a curious, knowing smile making it to his eyes. Cheery in spirit. “I suppose I’ll entertain the notion, if only this once,” he added thoughtfully, turning. “Let’s go, Anastasia. Jaz has probably torn up the luggage by now.” There was no point in staying – he’d said his piece, and had already made movement to leave far before anyone had approached him to do so. It was time to check on Greg and Batman anyways, who knows what murder had ensued in the train cabin. However, such thoughts would be promptly interrupted by Jackson’s worried voice – “This isn’t a joke! Something’s wrong!”
The words tugged at his chest once more, pulling the child to attention – almost reflexively, he whipped his wand out, turning to face the boy completely with a grim, attentive look upon his face. He hadn’t known anything yet, too caught up in his own thoughts. Shame. “What is it?” he immediately asked, his eyes darting around knowingly. Perhaps Jackson wouldn’t need to answer him, perhaps the answer would come on its own…

INTERACTING WITH @Jackson Valentine, @Rafael D'Spacito, @Anastasia Beckett, and @Jacob Harman | MENTIONING n/a
There was no surprise at D'Spacito's reaction. Unimpressed and haughty as ever, the badge seemed to have made little impact. Whether that was the reality or simply a façade like the rest of his little display, however, Evelynn had no way of knowing. Nor did she particularly care. The expression she exchanged with her captain was equally as unimpressed. He could bemoan and belittle the fact of her appointment all he wanted. In fact, she almost encouraged it. "Go on. Underestimate me," she wanted to challenge as lips pressed to a thin line. The less he thought of her new position, and the more he sought to see himself as above her powers of authority, the more likely she was to catch him in an act that would allow her to take points from him or land him in detention. She couldn't deny that the thought of that made everything seem worth it.
TO her surprise, however, he actually seemed to relent. Quirking a brow with D'Spacito's suggestion to entertain the notion, she didn't dare speak against it. Instead, the corners of her own mouth pulled into a slowly amused shadow of a smirk. It might even have been sinister in appearance to some. The D'Spacito she knew would not have backed down so easily. Not at her prompting in that conceding fashion. She had been expecting at least a last barbed retort beyond the quip to her badge. Perhaps some pushback of some form. Instead, he had agreed. How quaint, indeed.
No opportunity was left to her to ponder on it further, however. Interrupting what appeared to have been the conclusion of the encounter, Valentine had interjected and a glance revealed his grave expression. Of course, Evelynn had not been ignorant of the distant (relatively) Yeehaw!, nor of the occasional blunt force commotion against the compartments a little ways down. But that was hardly unusual. They were all coming off from break, several hours pent up in a small space with no adults and the first opportunity to practice magic without having the Ministry breathing down their necks. With wayward spells, Exploding Snap, and rough-housing between mates, it was not at all uncommon for the background noise of the train to loosely mirror that of a pre-schooler's playground.
But as Evelynn took a moment to listen, there was a stark difference this time, and it wasn't but a moment later that the grunts of pain sounded from down the hall followed by a high-toned shriek. With the compartment door previously slid open with D'Spacito's pending departure, it wasn't too difficult for Evelynn to push herself forward and at an angle enough to get a snapshot of the unfolding chaos. Eyes widened in surprise at the sight of students flooding into the hall. Vanes was there, rushing forward, and Edelhardt as well shouting Opeila's name on her lips and screaming for… someone to let her go. Who, exactly, Evelynn wasn't quite sure. They were out of sight to the left (relative of their position) of the compartment. What she did see, however, were at least two men dressed in western wear right across the hall. Two very unfamiliar and rather unfriendly looking men, and by the sound of shouting for the students to give up their wands echoing further down the hall, there were more of them.
As numerous incantations started sounding from various areas of the carriage, the colour drained from Evelynn's features. She was only too acutely aware of the lack of professors. That had been the one comfort with the little scheme during the Blossom Ball. There had been the back-up plan to alert the adults. Here, there were none. Only the prefects. Of which she was one.
"Get back," she said in urgency, all pretence to the previous conflict washing away in an instant as did the first thing that came to mind. Pulling Harman into the compartment with the rest of the four of them (provided he didn't resist), she attempted to slam the door shut before anyone in the compartment could think to try to venture out into the hallway and into what was about to be an absolute maelstrom of magical chaos.
They were children, and those were adults. There was no way that she could know what they were capable of. Or what they weren't. Sure, the students had wands, but they were as much as danger to themselves and each other welding them as they were to anyone else; and any adult wix attempting to bid them harm would be far more educated than they. Any thought of attempting to face them head-on would be likely suicide. Perhaps if she was the only one in the compartment, she might have thought otherwise. But she wasn't. There were three others in there with her, and their safety was just as important as her own survival instinct.
If successful in slamming the door shut, she would quickly draw her wand from the in-seam of her boot, point it to the handle, and chant, "Colloportus", as clearly as her voice could manage. A locked door wasn't likely to stop intruders for long, but perhaps it could buy them enough time to figure out an escape.

When Starlee had re-entered her compartment, nothing of note was occurring in the hall of the train, simply rumors and nothing more. However, one of the people that had shared her compartment, came back in after witnessing... did she say... cowboys in the hall? Starlee looked up from her book and at the girl, Starlee's face showing clear confusion.
They beat up a kid? Starlee thought, still thinking that most of this was simply just a joke. She watched as the girl pulled her wand out of her knapsack, presumably getting ready for a fight. Starlee really wasn't sure how to feel about this... well... she certainly hated being wrong, but was she so stubborn she wouldn't even go out and check? No. She did the same as the other girl, retrieving her wand from her bag, and she turned to face her compartment-mate, who appeared to have more questions.
“Does the term scar mean anything to you? Like… S.C.A.R, an acronym, I think,” Starlee pondered this for a moment. Honestly, she had no idea what it meant. "No... Definitely not..." she trailed off, and then said, perhaps rhetorically, "There are seriously cowboys out there?" She tried peering through the compartment door window, but from where they were located, she couldn't see anything. The girl went on to ask if they should stay here and hide. Initally, Starlee was inclined to agree. However, she also felt like she needed to prove herself in her spellwork, and what better way to do it than in an actual fight? Quite practical, honestly.
Starlee nodded along, agreeing that they should help, and followed closely behind the girl as she opened the compartment door and headed out into the hall. To her right, was a student being removed from... a suitcase? What on earth... and then to the left, there was all the commotion. Five men had boarded the train, all dressed up in cowboy attire. Her new ally then looked at the cowboys and proceeded to cast Flipendo at one of them. Spells seemed to be flying everywhere. Hmm... Starlee should do something too! What if she lifted one of them? That way they couldn't hurt anyone! She went on to eye the cowboy who had taken the Ravenclaw boy's wand, and yelled "Wingardium Leviosa!" in the hopes he would be lifted and unable to do anything.

He looked over his shoulder at her with a puzzled expression. "Hear what?" The first year furrowed his eyebrows. It was then that he heard it. YEE-HAW! Cade rolled his eyes thinking one of the students was making a lousy impression of an American cowboy. "It's probably just a--" the word student did not make it out of the young Ravenclaw's mouth.
Just as soon as the thought formed in his head a startling sound had hit the compartment door and Cade whirled his head back in front of him. Blood slowly dripped on the glass of the door and Cade immediately whipped the door open. He reached out to check on the boy but before he could see if he were ok a boot came out of nowhere and started kicking the body forcefully.
Cade's brown eyes snapped up in surprise. He whipped out his wand, not truly sure what was going on, but adamant about protecting this poor kid. Seeing that his compartment mate was checking in on the boy, Cade made it his priority to avenge him. Cade felt stupid, here he was only a first-year about to take on someone that meant to harm. He wasn't sure if this enemy was a muggle or a badly dressed wizard. But with no professors there to protect them, Cade took it upon himself as a duellist to help out in any way he could.

Alan would glance over at Raine and lightly shook his head at her once she would ask him whether he had seen the light, or any shift in it. Alan could not say that he had but now that it was mentioned he would give the area a glance but would still find nothing particularly interesting. That was until a series of bad events happened, leaving him with a couple of cowboy inspired bad guys that claimed to be part of an organization which's mere mention was enough to send a shudder down his spine. Though momentarily shaken by fear, he was able to shake the sensation off, the knowledge of students around him being in danger was enough to awaken his more or less existing survival instincts. Again an exaggeration but he would assume that it was quite necessary. He could see that one of them had already grabbed one of the student's wands, the student that had weirdly enough tried to perhaps warn them of this? How had he known in the first place and how did those people know his name? In terror he would watch as they ganged up on the boy, hitting and kicking him until he lay on the ground motionless, leaving blood smears everywhere. "Drop the bag and leave," he demanded of the cowboys, his voice shaky with uncontrolled emotions as his canines would grow pointy and black specks would grow in his eyes until they took over his eyes fully. Alan was angry, mad, perhaps pushed a little too far. He did not understand the display of violence right in front of them and he understood this organization even less; his emotions were a mess and the control over his abilities would split.
Gripping his wand until his knuckles turned white, he raised his arm and pointed it at the cowboy holding the bag. "You shouldn't be attacking a bunch of kids, you are adults and if you are what I think you are, you have no place on this train either," he explained. He would glance at Vlad on the ground, cringing at the sight and as his tongue slid over his teeth he could feel the sting his slightly sharpened teeth brought. He hated the lack of control he had in this moment of fear, worry and anger at the group that had brought so much death for a cause that was beyond his grasp. He was almost sure that the man would not be dropping the bag without a little bit of extra help, so Alan decided he would be nice enough to help him out. "Relashio," he would mutter, casting it at the man holding the bag, hoping he would hit him. Take the bag, then take care of Vlad. Where were the professors in situations like this?

Opeila would be taken hostage. Vladimir would get his ass handed to him, almost uncharacteristically. Perhaps he was outmatched, nobody in their right mind would let themselves get pummeled until bloody. Yet he had earned their ire and distrust these past few years, not that he cared. He just would have rather kept his blood on the inside.
Vladimir would struggle and try to stand, his hand covering the wound from the spurs in his side. The door next to him would slide open, Vladimir would lose his balance. His palm would stain his handprint on the door and his knees would crash into the floor. @Akari Kato would be the cause, this being the first scene she saw. Followed by the boy being kicked in the side.
Someone he did not know, the Asian girl who opened the door would ask if he was alright. There was no time or opportunity for pleasantries, nor was he in the mood. He let out a harsh, pained cough that rattled his crumbled form. "I said..." he heaved, sucking in a lungful of air "to run dammit." Not that anyone was going to listen, heeding his word was as likely as seeing a dhampir with a tan.

The cowpokes demanded their wands. Their only means of reasonable defense. "Give them your wand Opeila," he rasped as his free arm attempted to brace himself against the wall. The door proved too perilous. They thought that they knew everything, that they knew the cause and the motive. How active versus reactive his role was.
What did he want and why?
They had @Opeila Winters by the hair. Her wand hidden, they did not go searching. She would feel a hand move behind her head. fingers Knotting in the dark tresses, solidifying his hold.
@Katrina Walker was unwilling to forfeit her wand. She felt that her efforts were better utilized with her mighty (3) strength punching a cowboy in the nose. A tiny fist curled tightly she would attempt to land the basic blow. The fact that her ally was in peril next to her would have to wait, she had a length of chestnut wood and dragon heartstring to protect.
An open palm, he would draw back his hand and attempt to slap the girl across the face.
Some help the Ravenclaw was. He would hear Gris call out Opeila's name.
Griseldis would attempt to save Opeila in the way Athanatos could not. Katrina was in the way, having been following Opeila since the beginning and dealing with a threat of her own.
There was a problem with all of this. Opeila was the cowboy's meat shield and she could be wielded like a crudgle. Opeila would feel a rough push from behind. Opeila was being forced to headbutt thje nearest student aggressor -- @Katrina Walker. It was a consequence of fighting back. Of being in a narrow car.

In the drama car, aka @Rafael D'Spacito and @Evelynn Decipio's domestic squabble where Rafael could overhear the mere mention of his name between two quietly conversing students, the aggregate would fail to notice the hold up that was ongoing on the other side of the door.
@Jackson Valentine would only notice the potential peril on the other side of the compartment door when Vladimir fell. The noise, the shaking of the floor, the loss of that little sliver of light across the bottom of the door.
Jackson would try to call out to Rafael but it would be too late.
Indeed there was something wrong but there were no answers to be learned in their shared compartment.it was at this moment, the one where Evelynn had peered her head into the hallway that a boomerang would wizz over her head and shoot into the rear of her compartment. A series of unlikely variables.
No time to tend to the boys wounds, in fact she likely did not even see him get hit until a noise was heard, perhaps a yelp or an ouch. The door would be slammed closed.
"Colloportus"

@Piérre Marchonné would find AJ hidden safely inside a suitcase. How or why he was in there would be a question best left for another day. If the boy had any sense, he would have zipped himself back inside but he likely lacked the necessary consideration since he was found in that suitcase in the first place.
Piérre was not necessarily the brightest either, two peas in a pod. Yet there was something good, something soothing about the idiot. Maybe it was his intoxicating grin or the sparkle in his eye. He was certainly not the sort that turned the girl's heads but mayhaps in a fear years. Of course such facades may be nothing more than lambs clothes hiding a wolf, a contrite belief that Vladimir already bloodied still harbored.
But they were on the same side for the moment..
Pierre's belief that 'puffy' breeches hid wands, especially wands of significant length was ill-advised. Let a boy think he had his secrets, surely those 10+ inches were normally there.
"This is a stick up"
And Merlin, they abided by the cliches, as painful as they were to hear, it might have seemed comical if it was not for the fact that they were violent. That they had already taken a hostage. He had to do something!
Alec would make AJ a promise he had no hope in keeping. He would take AJ's former suitcase, that being his weapon of choice.
"Wingardium Leviosa"
The boy would announce this specific word of power and with short, proficient wand movements attempt to levitate AJ's suitcase.
@Everly Charlton would be merely left to wonder where AJ found that suitcase but she would not be left to ponder this for long. They were in the midst of a hold up. Opeila was in trouble, the incredibly handsome Ravenclaw boy was beaten bloody. She had to do something and in Hogwarts fashion she decided that fire must be the answer. On a moving train, in a narrow, shared space... yes, a fire would be a great idea. Usually fires make the problem go away.
AJ would very quietly scamper out of the aisle rather further into it, closer to the danger and the chaos.
"Incendio!"
The girl was obviously a first year. One that lacked experience with the consequences of fire.
The girl did not realize that only one action happens her round. She would try to hide and she would fail miserably. Dashing to take refuge behind some luggage, the suitcases would fall over and clobber the girl. [Auto-fail, second action.]
"Justa minute. Justa minute... Kids just need to hand over their wands, cry a few tears. Complain to their parents that mean-old-S.C.A.R. took their toys..."

In would come, perhaps stumble the calvary. A salivating, short hero who was contrasted with a raging giant. Where most were hiding their wands in their underpants and socks, because criminals would never think that an object as long as half their limbs could be hidden in these very 'clever' hiding places. Sarcasm aside, despite his initial appearance @Galton Lansdale was a semi-experienced and accomplished dueler. He actually could sling spells.
"Locomotion Commotion."
No, that was not it.
"Immobulus."
Ah, there it was.
Galton would try, narrowly failing to bind two of the nearest cowboys. To restrain them, maybe put his sticky hands all over them until authorities arrive. While, his attempt to be the hero might have failed he was still standing, for the moment. The nearest pair would give one another a look, the sort of look that said 'kids' without a noise being made.
Galton's compartment-mate, @Hugh Lowe would storm into the aisle, rushing past and yes, over his small friend. His booming voice, the quavering floor beneath his massive feet. The teen would proclaim something in giant -- "Yui shura dha wsulr dseail, raiddra nel!"
The world would look different to a giant. Always looking down. The threat was not necessarily to him, but him to them as well as his allies. He was likely treated as older by most, looked up to in more than a literal sense. Given more responsibility. Met higher expectations. A great experience in some regards, that freedom and that trust, but it was also a lonesome existence. Standing out. Seeing the word from a different vantage point, peers were few. Experiences meant something so 'being one of them' was not truly feasible. Not that he would necessarily be lonesome, some girls liked them big, some people wanted an intimidating presence on their side, some just want someone to reach the top shelf.
It was often for a reason. To fulfil a want or a need. Friends, even weird ones, like Galton were rare. There was also the rest of the house, their plight begged for an exercise in heroics.
"Look at that beasty there!" One of the men shouted, a bit of a laugh escaping his maw. There was a tone of trepidation hidden within that mocking statement.
A meaty fist would raise up. Cowboy number two had taken a few steps back in response to the Candy King's intrusion. Galton would be pushed further into the hall. The seemingly mild-mannered, gentle giant did have a temper. One that he perhaps struggled to at times keep under control. One that he felt was greater than his peers, that he was harder and more unapproachable than his contemporaries but in truth just as others have prescribed different standards to the part giant, he too leveled standards on himself that he would not have for others. That others would also be more likely to notice. A flailing, screaming child does not sear into ones memories the same way as a rampaging behemoth would.
Their attempts would not be for naught. @Meenauh Silmataurea would also draw her wand, an ally of the duo. She would urge @Xailah Alptraum to run. To get help from an adjacent car. Not that Xailah would likely get the chance. Meenauh would try to fight the good fight. A glowing orb of light cast from the tip of her wand.
"Lumos Maxima."
She would wield her wand, her only defense against these criminals. The newly emerged chatterbox, at least in her private compartment, would return to her one word phrases and declare solely:
"Flippendo"
She would raise one of the bandits up. Well, she would try.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
@Scarlett Aden was not even sure who the 'bad guys' were, if there were bad guys at all per her own silent admission. Not that it mattered, she would recklessly draw her boomerang and chuck it into the crowded car, caring not for the fact that there were allies in the same shared space, that the device would have to hit something or it would simply ricochet to its next solid object.

@Alan Vanes would try his hand at heroics. A righteous statement. A focus on the empty bounty. The bag that the bandit was demanding wands be relinquished into. He had received at this point none. If Alan had anything to say about things, that would remain unchanged.
"Relashio!"
The youth would state his word of power. Compel his enemies to do his bidding, to stop by force.
She was not going to start throwing hands, nor was she going to set the very train she was riding on fire. Rather, she would cast a different spell.
"Slugulus Eructo"
The bandit would take a few steps back from Alan. It was disgusting. Between choking gags, the cowpoke would call out to his allies. "I think we got it," he coughed painfully.

They would not notice AJ duck into an empty compartment.
Fortune indeed favoured the stupid...
What was @Allister-Jameson MacAllister thinking? what possible boon could the stiff boy who recently escaped a suitcase gain from climbing on top of the train? Well, Jackie Chan did it. So would AJ. Or some logic akin to this.
The biting cold would meet him. The air would sting like needles. This was his chance to stay inside where it was perhaps not entirely 'safe' but it was warm. He would climb on top of a pair of stacked suitcases and lean outside of the the train. The landscape would whip past him.
There were not many hand holds.
This was his chance to delay.
No, in a severe lapse of judgement, a boy with (7) accuracy would vault out of the window and attempt to grab the rail.

@Xailah Alptraum would open the door to the next train. When she did, Cowboy number three and five would mouth something, but no sound would be heard. Nothing at all would be heard. Number three and five would both back away, moving towards the back door. The sound that was heard was an explosion of heat and noise. Twisting metal, screaming, flaming wreckage. The concussive force would launch the metamorphmagus back, Schrödinger would get more air. Claws drawn, the cat would land on his feet, claws first. Those closest to the back door would take the brunt of the blast. Xailah meeting the heat head on, followed by Pierre and then Everly. Suitcases would be thrown back as would this trio.
The floor would rock, the caboose would rip free of the rest of the cars and lurch onto its side. The bandits did not appear shocked, despite the fact that one of them was in no condition to contend with this disaster od a ride. The bandit behind the slug vomiting cowpoke would grab them by the arm. Opeila would find herself freed of the bandit's grip a mere second before the explosion.
She would be pushed towards the chaos, meeting her classmates, all of which subject to the rolling car. The bandits would kick the luggage that lines the back wall into the aisle as they made their way into the environment. The icy air, warmed by the flaming car. They would climb from the still rolling, moving car.
AJ, bloodied looking at the disaster in the distance. He would not have to walk far to find his classmates. It is likely that he would hobble and limp in their direction.
He would see it, something that the other students inside the car would never see. not past the falling bodies that would crash into one another, the heat and the flames, the broken windows and twisting metal. He would see those bandits, the ones that were overtaking the car disappear once they emerged from the car in a puff of smoke. Not learned enough to recognize apparition, he would have been wrong had he come to that particular conclusion anyways but they would disappear in a burst of blue smoke that would disperse a moment later.
Yowling cats, screeching owls. This was true and terrible chaos. Whatever animosity these students suffered, they would find that disaster is a true equalizer. The one who fared the best would be @Elena Jangleton, she had locked her compartment door.
@Evelynn Decipio, @Anastasia Beckett, @Rafael D'Spacito, @Jackson Valentine and @Jacob Harman were shut into their own room. They would be rocked as well. The door was unlocked and the door would ultimately swing open. Ana would fall through the open door into the churning hall. Rafael would grip the cushion of the seat and hang on. Evelynn would brace herself against the wall. Jacob in the back corner would hold his ground despite the breaking glass and broken metal all about as would Jackson Valentine.
Rain would bounce around her own compartment, holding initially onto the doorframe. She
The luggage and the bodies. Where would they go? Where would they fall?
The next peril would be the luggage. It serves as an impromptu bludgeoning device. They would slide, some would break open. The spare shirts, boxers and baubles were hardly worth worrying over but the actual luggage itself had notable mass.
The rolling carriage, the students would find it difficult to find a handhold to stabalize. They would crash and slide into one another.
The doors on either end of the car as well as the breaking windows threatened to throw some of the students from the car. Vladimir would slide out of the car, his unmoving body would roll onto the track, a trail a blood left in his wake. Cade and Akari would not be able to stop this. Hugh would try and fail, losing his grip. he would be shot out of the train. Like a boulder being shot out of a cannon, hugh would breech the rear. He would hit the ground hard but on his feet. It almost looked like he took a bounding leap. The ground would quaver a bit underfoot and the ground would have a great dent beneath his feet.
The flaming door that would have led Xailah to the previous cars now represented a hellish portal. they had to hold on.
Inside the two compartments: the locked one with Marshal and Elena and the unlocked compartment from which Anastasia fell into the aisle from had one final threat. the broken windows. Would they fall from the window, being either flung from the train or crushed under the rolling car?
These three would not have time to linger. The rolling carriage threatened to crush them.

Adjacent to Ami's not-so-lovely presence, the boy would fumble and certainly be anything but a hero. The bag would not be yanked. Nothing would happen, not yet in any case. but he was not alone. @Raine Sage was standing behind @Alan Vanes in their private compartment. The older boy served as an adequate meat shield. He was much more durable than he looked but that was readily apparent from his quidditch matches.Alan casts Relashio
Cast 5
Accuracy 2
She was not going to start throwing hands, nor was she going to set the very train she was riding on fire. Rather, she would cast a different spell.
"Slugulus Eructo"
It was effective. It was effective! An uneasy feeling would start to overcome Cowboy #4's stomach. As if he ate a gas station sandwich, his last meal was revolting. Only problem, his meal was squirming. Something writhing and wiggling and climbing. His skin would take on a greenish color, a misting of sweat to accompany this new pallor. Then it would come, slippery slimy slugs would evacuate in waves from the man's open maw. Alan was standing right there in front of the bandit, now covered in regurgitated slug.Raine casts Slug Vomiting Spell

AJ would attempt to grab the rail but he would miss. His hands would reach out and desperately claw at the hold. His fingers would slip, hre would try to grip the icy metal but the wings and the shifting, chugging rail would buck him off. He would fall, hitting the frozen, stony earth as he fell.AJ Attempts to grab rail
Roll 1 Critical Fail
AJ would hit the ground hard, he would not quite tuck and roll but rather bounce like a bloodied rag doll. A broken arm and several abrasions as well as a concussion later, he would find himself in a ditch. He would be conscious, but only barely.Tuck and Roll
Evasion (treated as Agility) 6 (+7)

It was the best locking charm she had ever cast. As the train started to roll, she, Marshal and her hooting owl would bounce about their shared compartment. Their luggage would fall from the shelf above them onto the floor. They would smash into the walls, the ceiling and even back on the floor. The train would come to a screeching halt on the side. The side opposite side that they were on. So yes, ultimately they would be bruised and sore but in better shape than most. The sky above them that they could see through a broken window.Elana locks door.
Roll: 20 Success
She
She would not find herself able to hold on. she would fall from her compartment first into the broken window and ground before she would be tossed back into the hall.Strength Check (DC 12) 8 (+3)
Only poor Griseldis was unable to avoid the rampaging luggage. She would be belted in the midsection with a large piece of luggage. It was not even designer!xailah 19 (success)

The rolling carriage, the students would find it difficult to find a handhold to stabalize. They would crash and slide into one another.
Some of them would find a way to hang on. Hold onto a doorknob; door frame; exposed pipe of wire. But not everyone would be so fortunate. Pierre would crash into Everly; Starlee into Calanthe and Calanthe again into Alec. Opeila, recently free would nearly crash into Akari but Cade was able to not only prevent himself from crashing but in a feat of impressive and unexpected strength (go rolls of 20) he would grab hold of the girls and prevent them from injuring one another as they would have otherwise been tossed about like a pair of rag dolls.Xailah 18 [no]

They all held on.Xailah 20 (success)

Inside the two compartments: the locked one with Marshal and Elena and the unlocked compartment from which Anastasia fell into the aisle from had one final threat. the broken windows. Would they fall from the window, being either flung from the train or crushed under the rolling car?
Elena and marshal both would be ripped from their room. They would fall through the window. The broken glass would cut into them. Their ability to hold on would fail them. The same would hold true for Jackson as he would ripped from the train. His meager (0, really man!) strength was not enough to hold on.Elena 3 (+1)

These three would not have time to linger. The rolling carriage threatened to crush them.
The rolling train would hit the boy in the back. He would fall, part of the train would come down on him, shattering his ankle. A crunch. A jarring pain. the car would bound past him. Marshal would come out from under the rolling train somehow with his life, but he was not able to walk. Perhaps crawl. Standing would be a tall order. Someone help him!Elena 16 [no]
