Pulling with all her might, she could feel herself take one step backward. It was working-- the professors and some students on their team were showing much more strength than the other team. Now was not the time to celebrate. Maya knew that they had a little ways to go until the end and no matter how gummy her arms were going to feel, she kept pulling.

Hearing a students state that the teachers were going to eat dirt made Maya laugh. There was no way they were going to lose. No matter how many more students were to tug on the other side. The professors were skilled in strength and experience. This was definitely going to be a wake-up call to most of the students who ran their mouths.

As Maya was pulling, she looked over to Marcus. He was really into the game and pulled so tight that his shirt was tightening up from his muscles. Maya, still pulling, watched for a few moments the flex of his muscles and then took her gaze off to her hands that were tightly wrapped around the rope. Maya wondered when he would ever have time to workout as she never even found time to exercise herself and here he was flexing his muscles in front of the whole crew.

"!בוא נלך" (Let's go!)" Maya called out, really helping herself focus on the task at hand as she realized no one else spoke her native tongue.

The boy was definitely not as strong as some of his peers and even through he was pulling it still wasn't enough since the professor's gained another square, still no matter this boy had bigger plans to throw the professor's off their game. He may not have been strong, but he was smart and had a way with words and well insults so when he spotted on of the student's encouraging their side but stayed over there Henry shouted to her " Shouldn't you be encouraging your own side or are you a traitor to them in spirit? If you really want to help us then why don't you join us," Henry then held onto the rope since he was the closest to Cash and Nick he then whispered so only they could hear " do you think I would get detention if I jinx a professor?" Henry then heard his head if house and the divination teacher make a remark on his and Nick's bet so he spoke to him " what about a change in terms, Nick?"

Henry then shouted so that the professors would hear his new bet " alright then what if we win there's no homework for a week and if you surprisingly do win we have to clean the classrooms," Henry then smiled at his two slytherin friend's when he heard the remark of two first year girl's which made him say to them" were not losing, relax, any minute now the professors will throw their backs out," Henry took note that he remembered seeing one get sorting into slytherin but not long since he had to get back to insulating a few professors but all in good fun.

Henry recognized the new Keeper of the keys so he decided to start with him as he shouted over to the man " from the looks of it your all fat and no muscle professor, you should lay off on the sweets," Henry didn't want to be too mean toward him since he was new but all the other's were in fair game as he shouted " hey everyone let's take bets on who will be the first to throw their backs," Henry then smiled a sly smiled as he spoke to his head of house after remembering the previous conversation he heard " if your that old then it's a wonder how your still standing professor."

Henry then saw that the professor's two strongest members it seemed were two head of house's, one from hufflepuff and one from ravenclaw so Henry thought he should try some on them for a bit as he shouted again " looks to me that your about to drop professor browne," Henry shot over a sly smile before continuing " do you need a chair or something when your back throws," Henry was having more than fun as he continued to shout insults this time aiming them at the other as he shouted " given up yet old man," Henry shot a sly smile at Marcus Iwasak before shouting again " if I didn't know better it looks like your actually trying and failing as it looks."

Henry then saw the new nurse join in and couldn't help but laugh to Cash and Nick " look at that guy's mustache, it's like a target for remarks," Henry the shouted over to the nurse " you know the objective is to pull right? Are you even sure you know how to play?" Henry then shot other sly smiled over at the professors as he shouted " oh good the nurse is here, so when the professors throw their backs or slips a disc they won't need to struggle to the hospital wing."

Still never being a believer in divination because he would suck at it Henry shouted over to the divination professor, " your losing your touch professor," after another sly smile Henry spoke " if your sight wasn't so foggy then maybe you could have saw some actual predictions of today," after another sly smile Henry spoke low so only Cash and Nick could hear him " do you think they will dock house points or give me detention if I continue?" Henry continued to pull as he joke in a low whisper to Nick and Cash " I'm thinking about jinxing the divination professor? What do you guys think?"

𝓖ripping the rope with all of her might, Amadea prepared for the round. The first round had not gone in favor of the students, but she felt like that was partly because all of the professors were full grown adults while the students were quite small. But then again, the students were small but mighty. They outnumbered the professors and Amadea hoped that they could make a comeback. So far, it seemed like tug of war was not the game for her. But she was here because of her friends and she wasn't going to quit now.

She tugged at the rope as hard as she could, her muscles burning from the exertion. Unfortunately, she still felt her feet slipping from their tracks and she stumbled forward with the rope as the professors’ team yet again pulled them forward. They were now even closer to a loss, but it still wasn’t too late for a comeback. While Amadea didn’t know many of the people on her team, she debated whether or not she should shout out some words of encouragement. Maybe her team could use some encouragement and they would come out on the other side stronger. Then again, Amadea wasn’t sure she had the strength within her to grasp at the rope and shout at the same time. Amadea eventually decided against it and she gripped the rope as tightly as she could, ready to pull again, hoping that they could regain some of the ground that they had lost.

Callie wasn't entirely sure how she felt about Henry but the majority of her feelings towards the boy certainly weren't positive. His taunts were a little too...nasty for her liking. She didn't find his comment regarding the keeper of the keys apparent lack of muscle in good taste and his apparent obsession with the professors throwing out their backs was bordering on annoying. This was meant to be fun so why did he have to make his insults so mean spirited? Thankfully Callie was far too concerned with not falling over to even consider mounting some kind of attack on Henry. The most she could manage was a glare at the boy, clearly unamused at the boy's antics. His near constant whispering to Nick and Cash didn't exactly help things and Callie was growing increasingly suspicious of the boy.

For now though her attention diverted back to the task at hand since was wasn't at all strong and seemed to be trying her best to avoid faceplanting into the mud. Sadly the tumble forwards at the sudden tug of the rope caused Callie to lose her footing and stumble down into the mud. Thankfully she managed to keep a hold of the rope and at most her knees had grown a tad muddy, which wasn't the end of the world. She could handle a little bit of mud much more than she could Henry's insults. Once she was back on her feet Callie continued to tug at the rope, doing her utmost to help her team in spite of her deficiency in strength.

After the professor's gained a square, Nick knew he had to try harder. He pulled and he definitely felt like he had helped a bit more, but alas the professor's gained another square. It was a harder battle and it looked like the students might come back and win their bet. The bet definitely had it's intended effect, firing up a couple First Years who needed that extra motivation as the young ones. Cash had stepped out of helping clean, Nick had assumed they would be a bit more confident in their side, considering they're one of the stronger members.

Nick liked Henry's new bet better. He didn't know what they would do with a whole week to run around the school aimlessly and the professors would probably be more keen to accept the bet. He was also quite amazed at how many insults Henry could ram out in one sitting, but it's not out of character for him. Nick thought it would only be fair if he joined in. "Yea, do ye see ye slipping a disc in yer future!" Nick shouted towards the Divination professor.

Nick snickered at the idea of jinxing one of the professors, he assumed it was a joke, but it would certainly make this event a bit more fun. "Let's just say... I wouldn' stop ye." Nick whispered back to Henry. At the rate he and Henry were going, they'd probably have to clean classrooms regardless of whether they win or not.

"Aye Henry, definitely shoot a jinx at a seasoned Divination professor n' seer. She'll know it' coming before ye even cast it." Nick said dryly, secretly not wanting a fellow seer to be the one that gets hit, "If yer going tae dae it, dae it tae..." Nick looked through the line of professors, ruling out who he didn't think should get hit, "Professor Browne, that'll stir up the Hufflepuffs a bit n' he's one o' the stronger adults." He didn't have anything against the guy, it was purely competition based.

Aaaand the professors had won the round? Again? This game was not goin to be in favor of the students - Nell could sense it. She sighed and pulled on the rope. Her weak arms weren't doing much, though. Suddenly, Nell managed to take a step back, much to her surprise. She actually did something? The second year was surprised, but the lovely moment of success didn't last for long. She could feel herself sliding forward ever so slightly on the wet grass. She gritted her teeth and furrowed her brow. She manage to take another step back, then another. She adjusted her pale hands on the tattered rope and sighed. She was feeling good up until now. Her arms felt sore and weak, and her legs felt the same way. No. She couldn't give up this far in. She really hoped the pain would subside soon, because she really wanted the student team to win this. Boy, those professors were stronger than they looked. Nell thought they were going to be weak and all but, boy. Nell felt a little tug from the professor side, but she managed to stand her ground besides losing her balance just a tad.

It seemed Starlee was getting nervous this round, and her pulling was not quite as strong as the last. No matter, she would do what she could to get things back on track. She adjusted her grip and got ready to go again. However, the two older Slytherins seemed adamant on cooking up some plot to get a reward if they managed to win, although the prospect now was looking more and more unlikely. She did her best to keep her spirits up, all the while one of those boys was shooting off insults at the Professors. Starlee couldn't imagine talking to a professor like that, and she frowned at the two.

The boys then started whispering, but she couldn't hear over the sound of everyone around her. She had the urge to scold them, but there was no way they would listen to a little firstie like herself, plus... maybe they were just whispering about dinner later? I mean, after all the activities they had done today, she was definitely ready for a truckload of food. 'Mmm... Maybe there will be some treacle fudge for dessert?'

She shook her head, trying to get the thoughts of other various delicious, tasty and yummy foods out so she could focus back on the task at hand... beating the teachers. She looked at Tina, giving her a nod of determination. They could definitely turn this around, at least, she hoped they could.

And another square was won for the team consisting of professors. Jean-Papi was ecstatic. They were actually winning this. He had thought because of the plenitude of students on the other side of the rope they would have started to gain ground by now, but alas for them it wasn't so. That didn't mean JP would spare them. Oh no. He had gotten a taste of the victory that was lurking around the corner and he wouldn't stop before the students would concede and say it aloud. The professors won. The newly appointed nurse thought that he was some bad sport for thinking this, but then he started hearing one of the students, a pesky skinny looking thing, very mundane if you had asked him, throw insults at the professors. It seemed he was desperate to stand out. How adorable. All good sports and all, but he really tried going under your skin. Well, the Frenchman wasn't one to let an insult slide. Instead of running your mouth so much you really should start gaining some ground. You're all talk, but no bark? How... Dull. Rather then running the same insult over and over try to throw in some new ones every now and then you know? Because the old people joke has been overused.

The Frenchman flashed his most disarming smile at the young man. It's okay though! We can't all be so creative. He winked at the Slytherin. JP pumped his fist in the air. Another round is ours, mes amis!* Let's finish this. I see sweat already forming on their brows. We're wearing them out. With renewed vigor he pulled and pulled in the hopes of helping out his team despite his not so muscular build.

Yes, yes, yes! Slowly but surely, the professors were gaining ground, the center of the rope edging towards their line, and Ami grinned widely. Like many of the other professors, she had assumed that they'd all be pulled to the ground right out the gate, with the overwhelming number of students. Somehow, she'd forgotten just how... weak most of the student body was. It was kind of sad, how easily they were gaining ground... not that she was complaining.
"That's Admiral Browne to you, Private Procoppio!"
Grunting slightly as she straining against the rope, she shouted back to her Head of House, "Then act like it!" Wow; she was getting bold with the professors, wasn't she? Nah, she only dared to antagonize @Caradoc Browne or Cypresse; she didn't know any of the other professors nearly well enough, which she figured was something that she'd have to remedy soon. Maybe this event would give her an excuse to talk to more of her professors, rather than just hand her homework in with a sheepish shrug.

And apparently, @Hjørdis Jensen was going along with the military theme, too. This... well, this was something she could get behind! After all, wasn't her father Colonel Lucas Procoppio? "Right on, General!" she called over to the Silver Knight, grinning broadly. "Put your back into it, Admiral!" Ami called back towards Browne, echoing his words back toward him. "Heave... ho!" This whole playing pretend thing was getting confusing. Were they out on the sea, now?

But her thoughts of the army were chased away as @Jean-Papi Dupont opened his mouth.
"Encore une fois, mes amis!
Another round is ours, mes amis!"
"Ayo, Mustachio!" Ami called over to him, her brows furrowing as her grip tightened around the rope, her feet attempting to gain more ground. "Why do you keep yelling my name? I don't even speak your language, bro!" She hadn't even realized that the new face had known her name... had somebody told him about her reputation of injuring both herself and other students with her escapades? Surely not, she'd been far tamer the past year. Of course, she had next to no clue what French sounded like, even after working a few desks over from Alexx on the Headliner. Even though her mother had explicitly told her that her name was French, that she'd chosen it because it meant friend, how the hell was she supposed to remember something like that?

It seemed that the students were still bent on striking a wager with the professors, although Ami didn't know why they bothered. They were clearly going to lose, even if there was any glimmer of hope that they'd gain any ground against the professors. Frankly, the professors' team was just stronger and heavier, and Ami knew that victory was easily in their grasp.

Tina was beginning to regret seconding Henry's suggestion. This round, the teachers tugged even harder, and although she (barely) managed to keep a hold of the rope, Tina felt her fingers slip a little as they were dragged ever closer to the other side of the field by the opposing team. She watched in dismay as the knot in the rope was hauled over the second marker. What did this mean for them? Cleaning? No chocolate frogs? Would the professor's even want the chocolate frogs? Surely not as much as she did, Tina reasoned with a glare. Vaguely, in the distance, she heard Willow call out to their group.

"Come on you guys! Do you want to win or not?"

Whilst her shouts may have been intended to intimidate the younger group and not encourage, Tina found her words to be supportive, more than anything. Maybe that was just Willow's personality, or maybe they were that pathetic that the other team was taking pity on them. Henry, the Slytherin from before, was not stirred by this idea at all. This much was obvious from the cocky taunts he started to throw at what seemed like every single teacher in the other group. Tina couldn't help but snort at his word choice, clasping her hands around the rope more tightly and looking at Star. No way he was getting away with that.

"I'm thinking about jinxing the Divination Professor? What do you guys think?"

...Tina was going to pretend she didn't hear that. Starlee, too, was either doing the same or hadn't heard Henry at all. The faraway look on her face made it hard to tell. Although it was a little harsh to target the oldest adult there (at least, from what Tina could see), it couldn't hurt their winning chances. She seemed quite passive, too.

"If yer going tae dae it, dae it tae... Professor Browne, that'll stir up the Hufflepuffs a bit n' he's one o' the stronger adults."

"Oh my God!" Tina whipped around to look at Caelan with wide eyes, filled with a mix of excitement and fear. "It's not quite as low as going for the old one, but he's like... scary! And I don't want my Head of House to be mad!"
