Aaron laughed a little when Carolyn spoke to Alan in Korean at first. It was a good-natured laugh, not a making-fun-of-her laugh. When Carolyn mentioned that she knew about Tiger, Aaron's eyes lit up as well. "Tiger is so cool, right? With his stripes and everything?" he agreed with her, glad that they could all start off on a good note.Interacting with @Carolyn Hunt, @Alan Vanes, and @May Moonstar
As he finished eating his share of fruit and veggies (and pretzels), Aaron turned his head to Alan. He was asking about the Quidditch game. Aaron smiled broadly, remembering how Alan had cheered him on during the unofficial game a couple months ago. "I mean, yeah, I'm a little nervous, but I'm more excited than anything. I can't believe we are actually getting to play at this huge stadium!" His voice rose a little in excitement, but he quickly corrected himself as he looked around, not wanting to disturb others.
It was then that his eyes landed on May. May Moonstar. His expression immediately soured, prompting a little frown. He looked away as she began to approach, wishing she would find someone else to bother. Even though they were on the Quidditch team together, he still had a small problem with her regarding her actions at the Secret Blossom Ball. She had probably forgotten all about it, but he hadn't. Aaron honestly just wanted to avoid her if possible, so as she greeted them - calling him "Capt'n Jones" because of his status as the Hufflepuff Co-Captain - he thought it would be best if he went and enjoyed some stargazing finally. That was the whole point of tonight, after all.
"Hello, May," he greeted politely. He avoided looking at her as he got to his feet, grabbing his star chart in the process. "I'm actually going to go check out the telescopes!" he said, taking a step back from the table. Aaron felt a little bad leaving Carolyn and Alan when they'd just started getting to know each other, but being around May was sure to spoil his mood. He wouldn't mind if they decided to join him, but he wasn't going to say that out loud and not invite May. That would've just been rude.
"Nice talking with you guys! I'll be back eventually, if you guys are still here," he said, a proper smile of goodbye on his face. With that said, he headed off to the row of telescopes at the end of the picnic blankets. Walking through the dim red light was quite interesting, and he wondered if this is what it was like a dark room, like the one Santario said she used to develop photographs. Speaking of - he glanced over to see her still sitting with a boy and conversing. He would say hi later.
Aaron finally arrived at the telescopes, and took over the one on the far left. He wasn't entirely sure how to use them, trying to recall what he had learned in Astronomy class, so it was taking him a minute to try and get it adjusted properly. Maybe it had already been setup right, and he was just making it worse with his fiddling, but he couldn't tell. It was probably obvious to anyone who looked that he was struggling.

He disagreed with her, something she knew he would do given his statement about his name initially. Her father had a love for names, but as a writer, it made sense. Not that all writers had a passion for names most struggled with them, but her father loved to research them find out where they came from and what they meant. This is especially so if there was a more archaic meaning behind them that he could use as symbolism for a character’s growth or intention. Perhaps it was just her way of reminiscing about her father to speak how he would have talked about names. She could have sat there for hours on end, listening to him telling her what names meant. No, she had to snap out of that train of thought because if she didn’t, she would eventually cry in front of this boy, and that was absolutely under no circumstances ever going to happen.Interacting| @Howard White

Her lips scrunched to the right side of her face as she rolled her eyes, thinking about one of her tent mates in particular. “More than right on that front.” She didn’t mind Ed, but it was the newer kid who had never actually been to Hogwarts before. “We’ve got one of those new, new kids. Asked me if I was a squib right off.” She shook her head at the thought.
She watched his eyes trail off towards the professor, her words having rung true. His question was heavy, heavier than he probably expected. There was an intensity behind her eyes almost an anger, but not at him. “I refuse to believe that we don’t have a choice. Everything that we go through, everything that happens to us, is all because of choice. A left when we could have taken a right. A zig where we could have zagged. Whether indirectly or directly, who are who we are because we choose to be so. If there is something out there that predetermines everything for us, then simply put… What the hell exactly is the point then?” More importantly, if something out there predestined her to watch and listen to what happened that fateful night she would have to find a way to destroy it as well.
“I don’t mind the silly zodiacs and things like that, but the rest can go to hell.” A sharp sentence for such a little lady, but even the softest of roses have thorns and she was learning to armor herself with them. She glanced for a moment at the variety of fruits left on her plate, almost everything else had been eaten, but she found herself no longer holding the desire to eat them.

Stargazing may have been one of Cecily's favorite activities in the world. To lie on the ground and look up at the stars... maybe she was spoiled, living out in the middle of nowhere. Oh, the stars she could see from the field outside her house, with no lights for miles to disrupt her view. It had always been calming to her, to be put into her place in the grand scheme of things by the endless sight of the Milky Way dwarfing her small self, just a speck in the grass. And now, after an eventful year at Hogwarts, she would get to do just that-- but this time, she would get to share the glory with her very best friend.
As the two departed the train, Amadea immediately grabbed her by the hand and ran off, dragging the blonde girl behind her. The Hufflepuff's energy never failed to put a smile on Cecily's face, even if she nearly tripped over her own feet whilst being pulled along through the crowd. She had missed Amadea over the winter when she had been home with her family, and even after the several months in which she had returned to school, Cecily was eager to spend more time with her. Plus, it was almost the start of summer, and they weren't even in a tent together! Add that up, and the two girls had both leapt at the chance to spend some quality time catching up and watching the stars.
The two girls stopped just inside the entrance, Amadea clutching a star chart that she managed to get her hands on during the mad rush from the train. There was so much to do, Cecily realised as she looked around. She had expected the stargazing, of course, but she was pleasantly surprised by all of the activities going on. Of course, it was summer camp-- and the Hogwarts staff never went halfway in summer camp. It was all-or-nothing, especially this year when there was so much going on with the Quidditch match and the Durmstrang students.
"I think," Cecily started slowly, taking in all of the possibilities. Food, stories, telescopes, comfy blankets...the choice was obvious. Food always came first-- a rule she followed at ever gathering she attended. A beeline for the refreshments was always a safe bet. "I think we should start with the food. Always a good place to begin." She started to make her way over to the picnic tables, checking over her shoulder to make sure Amadea was following behind.

Alan looked a bit nervous but seemed to relax when Carolyn mentioned his cat. The young Ravenclaw was relieved to say the least. She wouldn’t be surprised if he thought her weird for remembering the pet more than his owner. “Yes, very cool,” she nodded enthusiastically upon hearing Aaron’s comment. “You see, I always wanted to have a cat but then my mum got me a dog as a gift and I decided she was a good enough friend for me. A bit handful but sweet nonetheless,” she smiled fondly as she remembered her faithful companion. “Now that I’m attending Hogwarts and can’t take Morgana with me however…,” she sighed before continuing. “It would be amazing to get a friend I could have by my side during the school year as well.” It was a shame Alan didn’t bring his cat today but she understood why. “That makes sense, though I do hope we’ll get to meet eventually,” she smiled at the older boy.
As she was taking another bite of her pepper, Alan took the opportunity to ask Aaron about the upcoming match. A question Carolyn found quite interesting as well. She was not keen on playing Quiddich herself but if she did and was in his shoes right now, she would be extremely nervous. Aaron however seemed to be more excited than nervous, even going as far as raising his voice a little. Carolyn chuckled at the boy’s enthusiasm. “Unbelievable…I wish I had your courage,” she shook her head still smiling. The young Ravenclaw liked to believe she was no coward and that when it came to it, she could be brave. Still, thet didn't mean she rushed into any dangerous situations. That just wasn’t her.
Before the conversation could go any further, another student stopped by their table. A young girl. It seemed that unlike Carolyn, she already knew the boys. Hufflepuff then, her brain evaluated quickly since she addressed Aaron as her captain. “Nice to meet you May,” she greeted the girl. “My name is Carolyn Hunt,” she offered her hand in greeting. Surprisingly though, Aaron didn’t look too happy after seeing her. Were they not on good terms? Perhaps she was imagining things. He might have really just wanted to inspect those telescopes. After all she didn’t know them that well and she tended to overthink stuff quite often. “Sure…” she nodded wondering whether he was actually coming back or not. “Jal-ga Oppa! Carolyn called after the boy after thinking about it some more. Wait! Is he even older than me? I forgot to ask, she cursed herself inwardly. It didn’t matter though, the raven haired boy was already gone. A shame really, she wanted to give him something. Well, maybe later.
“Would you like to join us May? There is still plenty of food left.” the young witch finally decided to ask the other girl. Alan probably wouldn’t mind right? They knew each other, did they not?

Alaric helpfully pulled out of his thoughts by Mr. Vanes, smiled warmly back at him. “Good evening, Mr. Vanes. I hope you enjoy yourself.” He looked around everyone who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Lots of laughter and chatting and even Ros seemed to have acquired quite the line for her services. Two students seemed to be locked in an intense conversation at one of the picnic tables, but if that was how they cared to spend their time, then who was he to judge?Interacting| @Charles Simmons | @Alan Vanes
That was when another Dhampir sat down across the table from him. Considering all of the dhampirs reported straight to him twice a day every day while in Hogwarts care so long as they wanted to remain being taught, he knew who all of them were. Though he had been keeping tabs the moment he started as a professor almost a year ago anyway. How better to protect his kind than to know who they are. You can’t protect them if you don’t know them and sometimes even then you couldn’t.
“Good evening.” He would say to the boy who had sat across from him that seemed lost in thought. Unlike a decent amount of dhampirs, Alaric covered his corpse-like skin with makeup like a ritual. There were very few expectations when he did not, but tonight was not one of those nights.

Charles hated talking too people unless they were really good friends. Of course he knew who the professor was, but he forgot his name. It was pretty silly that he saw this professor every day twice but still forgot his name. So when the professor started to talk to him he freaked out. He did not want to look rude in front of him, and considering that he forgot his name when they see each other often was rude. So Charles did what he always did when he started to panic. He said "Eep," instead of talking classic Charles.Interacting with @Alaric Equinox.
It was Charles signature move and he did it in front of a professor. Charles sighed and put his head down on the table. "Im so sorry, I forget what you name was, and I panicked. And then I made a weird sound in front of you. And you're a professor, and its so rude I forgot your name. And my parents told me not to be rude but I'm being rude, by forgetting. And I'm starting to ramble and that's super rude of me. And I should just go." Charles whispered loud enough for the professor to hear. But instead of leaving he just kept his head on the table in shame.
Man Charles really needed to fix his issues of rambling, in front of people. It was so rude and then he needed to get better at not getting nervous. Cause whenever he did he started to act weird and that's why he barley has friends. And then whenever he did something wrong like making noises he tells himself that was rude and starts to ramble. And what's the most ironic thing about that is that Charles hated rambling. But his mouth seemed to have a mind of its own.
Then Charles thought about all the times he screwed up a bit when talking to people. That was rude when he said it. And he imagined how disappointed his parents would be if they found out he was being rude because of nervous outbreaks during school. So tears started too well up in his eyes, even though he knew he was overthinking it. He just couldn't help it, he was a big crybaby after all. He needed to stop himself before he started to cry. But he couldn't so bloddy tears started to roll down his cheeks and onto the table. Great he couldn't look up now if anybody was watching, and now he was crying. He just hoped nobody around him would notice. But he was fine with the professor he never hid anything from a teacher unless it was something his few friends asked him to hide.

There was something hypnotic about the star-studded sky that made the world around Adam fall away. It didn't take long for the sounds of the students around him to lapse into a peaceful hum; for the dim red lights to fade into the periphery; for all feelings of stress, tension, worry to melt away, purged from Adam's mind by starlight. His mind was in space while his body stayed behind, resting on top of one of the picnic tables. The wooden surface had hurt his head at first, made his back ache, but those feelings had slipped away too and now Adam was perfectly content. His hand dipped into the wicker picnic basket that he'd moved onto one of the seats and came back with a handful of pretzels. The star chart that he'd been given had fallen off the side of the table long ago, pushed by a gentle breeze. He wasn't interested in tracing constellations tonight, as fun as that sounded. He just wanted to take in the universe.
It felt like so long ago since Adam had sprawled out just like this on the Hogwarts grounds, watching the clouds with Rosie Parker at his side. That was one of his favorite memories of the girl — one of his favorite memories in general, actually. It had been such a calm and innocent afternoon. Nothing to worry about, nothing to do until they'd heard the school bells. Stargazing was a different experience than cloud-watching, although they were plenty similar. The latter was wonderful, but the former was just....just ethereal. The word came to Adam out of nowhere, but it felt right. He couldn't explain it any other way.
He'd seen some familiar faces on the trip over from Hogwarts' encampment, but they'd yet to come find Adam; in fairness, he'd yet to find them, either. The boy didn't mind being alone with his thoughts on this occasion. He would be just as happy to share the experience with a friend or a classmate, but until someone came along, Adam would treasure the tranquil silence. It was just him and the universe in silent conversation. In a few hours, this would all be gone, hidden behind a joyous blue sky and a wave of sweltering heat. Adam was glad to enjoy it while he could.

After settling down next to some of his tentmates, specifically Dealla and Ileen, he'd just relax into staring up towards the night sky for the time being. The darkness seemed overwhelming for him at the time, it played against his thoughts and even tapped into that rare emotional side that seemed to play across his mind at times. Every kid seemed to get depressed for no reason once in a while and it just hit suddenly for Zyk on this night, a thought to why this overcame him, couldn't be fathomed. Keeping his head settled upon the hoodie he had positioned under it for a pillow, he let his lids close over those golden irises and just dwelled upon his own thoughts for a while.
The princess's little play against his name had made him smile a little, but, he couldn't find the effort to retort at the moment. Even when Adonis had come over to snatch the rest of their candies that they were hoarding, he wouldn't even open lids to pay the situation any attention. Though there was a slight hint of a smirk when he mentioned something about 'lovebirds', Deallas' clueless response almost caused a smile from him as well, but, he withheld it, his mind playing tricks on him once more. There was just something nagging at him at the time being that made him stay silent and not act like his usual self. Ileen was also being rather kind to him, he wanted to make friends with her as well and registered that he should put in a little effort to doing such, it was just a chore for him to even talk right now.
After Adonis had left and the two best friends started their own conversation, his thoughts drifted to his current situation concerning his girlfriend, fake girlfriend, whatever it was at the time being. The situation had become foggy, they were just not mature enough to pull off whatever they had intended to do from the beginning and emotions were getting dragged into the situation. A spur of the moment decision caused him to raise up and look over towards the two girls then, "Oy', be back, gotta' handle somethin'," he said to Dea and Ileen. Standing then, he reached down and grasped his hoodie and put it back over his body so he didn't have to carry it around.
Those eyes searched the area and eventually spotted a girl who was laying down alone upon a blanket, well, the time was now to settle this farse, he supposed. Heading his way over towards Lizzie, he'd approach slowly, his hands quickly thrown into his pockets, and his head hanging low as he looked at the grass as he walked across the area to where she was. When he got to her area, he'd settle himself down next to her, "Hey, we should probably talk about things," he said, not glancing over towards her yet until he finished his sentence. It wasn't intended to be an ambush on things, but, he felt like if they didn't conclude their deal then they'd probably drag this out longer than necessary.

He was feeling some sense of pride well up in him as they continued to talk about Tiger. He felt like a proud father getting loads of compliments about how pretty and handsome their was. It would have been funny to make a joke about it being in Tigers genes, but he would just continue to grin as he enjoyed the conversation. "I get th-that, yeah. It's great to have an animal companion, I wouldn't never want to miss Tiger anywhere!", he would encourage the topic of owning pets and bringing them to Hogwarts. "What kind of dog?", he would ask curiously, because he knew how big of a range in responsibility a dog could be based on its breed.
Alan was happy to see Aaron so excited and nodded. "If Willow plays anything like she did in th-the last game, th-they won't score at all!" he chuckled amused as he recalled how his Hufflepuff friend had swoop up the quaffle heading towards their goal post with such ease, it probably intimidated the opposite team right away. "I'm happy for you guys, th-this is really great," he would add to the sentiment of this being a huge Quidditch stadium, the very same were pros play for the Quidditch World Cup.
May would join them and Alan nodded towards her in a silent greeting as his gaze flickered to Aaron. It seemed like no matter where Alan was, May was there too and always around which was kind of incredible. She seemed like quite a people person. When Carolyn invited May to sit with them, he sat up and glanced at May to see her reaction; he would not mind at all. "See you, Aaron and good luck with th-the game!"

Stargazing
-------☆-------Open to Interactions!Stargazing. That was the one and only event that Claudia was really looking forward to. She didn’t care about the welcoming BBQ or the Capture the Base competition, but she did care about the stargazing. She didn’t know why she was so interested in the stars. Maybe it was because she was mysteriously, untouchable, unfeeling. Maybe it was because she sort of seemed like one. But Claudia had always felt hopelessly drawn to the night.
As Claudia walked lightly along the grass, she inhaled deeply. Normally she didn’t like the outdoors, but the familiar smells of bread and chocolate enticed her. As she grabbed a basket to eat from, Claudia sat straight on the grass instead of one of the picnic tables. She didn’t feel comfortable with confrontation, and sitting down with others was basically the same thing. Besides, it felt better just to be alone with the stars.
As she’s opened her basket, Claudia found all the food she would ever want. Loaves of bread, sandwich toppings, and chocolate frogs and candies from Hogsmeade were arranged neatly in the hollow space. Claudia picked up a roll, tore it in half, and put some cheese inside. As she took huge bites from the bread, she observed the strange candies from Hogsmeade. Although she had never been to the store, Claudia recognized some of the sweet treats from the trolly on the train to get in to Hogwarts. Chocolate Frogs, Sugar Quills, and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavored Beans among them. Claudia suddenly shut the basket, wanting to discourage bugs and her attention wandering to the sugary contents.
Claudia sighed and laid down on the ground, her black hair splaying around her head. It was likely that someone was going to step on her, as she and her clothes blended into her dark surroundings. When she sat up, it would look as it a ghost had suddenly appeared in front of them. Claudia turned her gaze upward and raised her star chart up to the sky. She looked back and forth from the sky to the paper, trying to see if she could find any constellations that were listed. With her limited point of view, Claudia had to look harder than ever as she didn’t have the range that some of the other Hogwarts students did.
Sighing, Claudia lowered her arms and dropped the star chart on her stomach. It didn’t seem as if she could see any of the constellations from her view point, and her arms had been getting tired anyway. “I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem as me...” she wondered. Claudia’s hand absently trailed over to the basket to grab a chocolate frog.
As she lifted the chocolate to her mouth, Claudia stared at a group of people to her right. They were giggling and clearly having fun with their conversation, one of the girls flirting with her boyfriend or whatnot. Claudia messily shoved the slightly-melted frog into her mouth, chocolate running along her face. Instead of wiping it off like a normal person would, Claudia left it there and tried to lick at the trails.
Even though she didn’t say so, Claudia was really enjoying this peaceful night.-------☆-------
