If you want to calculate it, mention the professor in your post, and he will do itLauren Wong wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:43Oh but where do I calculate that?Julia Evans wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:42Itbis used to determine whether or not your spell is a success.Lauren Wong wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:38 Hi guys! Like, I’m thinking of posting in here but idk what the “spell rolled” mean. Can someone help explain please?
Each spell has a WDC. In order for the spell to be a suces you need to pass the WDC.
To calculate a spell success -
d20 (A 20-sided dice) + WIS (Your Wisdom)
If this equals to something higher than the WDC, your spell is a success, else it is a faliure.
In this case, it is your choice if you want to do a roll or just decide yourself.

I’m just going to end up saying what @Julia Evans has said here already. Sometime it helps to have a little backup.Lauren Wong wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:43Oh but where do I calculate that?Julia Evans wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:42Itbis used to determine whether or not your spell is a success.Lauren Wong wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 04:38 Hi guys! For this thread, it is not a requirement to role for the spell effect. But if you like the random happenstance of it all, as Ms. Evans kindly put it, just either tag me in the post or you may owl me ahead of time if you prefer that.
Special thanks to Ms. Evans for thoroughly reading my instructions!

FAQ — Questions
In duelling, is the wisdom wroll the only thing used to determine success? If not, what are the others and how do they work?
FAQ — Questions
It starts off with the wisdom roll to see if the spell works, then there is an accuracy roll to see if it would hit, and an evasion roll for the target, to see if they can dodge it. If accuracy is higher than evasion, it hits, if evasion is higher, then it misses.Julia Evans wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 08:56 In duelling, is the wisdom wroll the only thing used to determine success? Then, there is a roll to see the effects of the spell, but it differs for each one.
I hope this is helpful, however someone else might be able to explain it more clearly

There's also auto-fail and auto-success, which are usually a 5 or 10% chance, meaning you roll a d10, d20 or d100 (depending on what you prefer, but you do have to state beforehand which numbers would cause the auto-fail/success) and then it procs on the 5% or 10% chance.Julia Evans wrote: 28 Feb 2026, 08:56 In duelling, is the wisdom wroll the only thing used to determine success?
