Special Race/Ability are things like dhampir, or Seer.
Some of the schools never used to allow people who had special races join, so they had to be acceppted in a different way. It shouldn't matter for you, as you'll be a first yeAR

@Julia Evans for the "how did they join the school?" part of the application, you can just put "Like all other students as I am a first year" or something along those lines. Previously, one couldn't join an iNPC school with a special race (eg dhampir, part-veela, metamorphmagus), but as that is possible now, that's fine. However, you would need to apply for it while registering your iNPC, just like for normal PCs. As for abilities (eg Sixth Sense or Fearless), you can apply for those normally. Do note that if you choose a special race/ability (once again, I am speaking of eg dhampir, part-veela, metamorphmagus, not fearless or sixth sense), you can only choose an ability (sixth sense, fearless, wandmaker, etc) in years 2, 4 and 6. I hope this makes sense!

As long as there are no things such as “Prerequisite: Second Year” and such, then I believe yes!

Yep! You can buy spells that have a prerequisite for an older year, but you can’t use those spells until you are at least the year of the prerequisite!
