Not sure if this is the case but on computers when this happens and you go through the usual method of figuring out what it is and it turns out not to be any of those things, it might possibly be because you need new thermal paste! Not sure if it applies to a computer versus a laptop though.

I suggest to add an option to show the word count of a selection. And to also show the word count in the direct reply box below the last post of the thread.
The first is useful especially for homework because we have to copy the questions over, so I manually have to copy and paste the HW portion to word or so to get the word count.
The second is useful to just type the reply and know the wordcount without the need to open up the full 'reply' screen.

It's just at the bottom of your corner, especially when quoting or previewing a text. It's alsoalways present when doing homework

I followed up with the staff and discord to see if anyone else is having the same issue with the snow. Nobody else is, and many of them reported very old 5-7+ year old devices and devices so weak they have a hard time using microsoft office tools and they have not had an issue with the snow. It might be prudent to check for a virus on your device.

Yes, that is seen when you click on 'reply'. But not in the box directly below the last post. And you only have the wordcount of the whole post. I was suggesting to have wordcounts for a selection to only include the part of each question in the homeworkClark William Baird-Carter wrote: 6 Dec 2022, 22:45We have the wordcount stuffEdward Foxe wrote: 6 Dec 2022, 22:12 I suggest to add an option to show the word count of a selection. Have you checked if they have a problem of writing while in the snow specifically? It might be a different situation idk. But anyway, I updated my Microsoft at night. Idk if it's improved. Checked virus - nada. Will try to see if I face the same issue with snow in next post.Solomon Lear wrote: 6 Dec 2022, 23:30 I followed up with the staff and discord to see if anyone else is having the same issue with the snow. NOOOO THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT. It's spring here. viewforum.php?f=161 this is the forum I had issues on. Try writing a long reply? I stayed on there with the snow running for 1hr+ to write a reply idk if you want to do that specifically to test if it's problematic.Kim Sato wrote: 7 Dec 2022, 00:17When I first read your post I thought you were talking about the snow falling decorations. I didn't realize you meant actual snow falling while you were typing! I don't have that issue either so not sure why you'd be having it hmmm... which board is it?

Atm just by looking at the forum, I see the snow falling on either side but it's not falling in the post box where I'm typing. I will see if staying on there for awhile will do anything though. But it seems fine to me. Maybe it's a laptop issue? I'm doing it on my desktop computer.

Maybe when writing your next reply you could try writing on that forum and copy and paste into the intended one after you're done? Have a hard time believing it's just me having problem with snow.Kim Sato wrote: 7 Dec 2022, 00:27Aurelia Notresvace wrote: 7 Dec 2022, 00:22 NOOOO THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT.
