There is always the Fall Ball and the Spring Ball (sometimes called the Blossom Ball). The Spring one usually occurs around May.

There are user-run events, too, that aren’t necessarily official, such as Esme Hestridge’s 5th Annual Charity Gala.

Now that iNPCs have more focus, I would not necessarily be surprised if there were ever an official dance-like event at an iNPC school, but I’ve no idea if that will ever happen.

I hope that helps! Feel free to ask for more clarification.
Thanks!

So I have a couple of stories I made myself, but they have nothing to do with Harry potter at all. Can I post them in 'Shelves' or do they have to be harry potter related?

Also, am I right in thinking that I'm allowed to post a re-written Harry Potter from Lily Evan's view in my art gallery, even if it is not accurate, or can I only post true stuff?

Shelves is the perfect place for your stories, so long as they are not fanfiction. If it’s all fiction and you’re not claiming it’s a part of your actual background or plot, then you’re perfectly fine to post your fanfiction in the art gallery, although keep in mind that you can only have one art thread.

@Lily Evans & @Charlotte Winfield

What Charlotte said is correct, however do keep in mind that all stories posted in the shelves must either be written from an IC perspective (in your case, from Julia's) or else they would need to be available to the general IC public. Therefore, this basically means that whatever you post there, will actually be in the Hogwarts Library shelves. I hope that makes sense! <3 Oh, and one more thing, as long as they fit the site lore, they don't have to be about Harry Potter himself or stories regarding him and magic. They do need to make sense though ;)

What actually is “the main story”? I’ve seen it mentioned a few times, and I’ve seen the past things on it, but what’s going on currently?

The main story used to be a series of adventures that were in chapters, I suppose. It used to be a house cup prize but now we have other rewards instead.

The Hexwizard was an attempt if I remember correctly to resuscitate it but that didn't work out. The Hexwizard was like 2022? 2023? It was a bit ago, so really our main adventures anymore unless I missed something is what people start themselves; the gryffindor house cup adventure we're doing right now. Last thing I remember related to main story is that even the hag slugs are gone.

So in other words... we aren't doing main story anymore. We had problems come up and so, it kinda finished after that. What we do allow you to do is create your own adventure if you so wish to have one, though if it's anything that needs index approval (character changes and all), I'd run it by index. If you're using dangerous creatures or are in doubt, ask the CoMC professor, and any plants, if you so wish to use them, you could always, if in doubt, ask the Herbology professor. If you wanted help creating an adventure, there's a bunch of people willing to help.

Now, I was going to have one, and had a whole thing ready for it but I lost the google sheets and didn't want to recreate it after all the time I put into it, amongst other things so I closed my adventure after fighting the merpeople. If I recall correctly, back in.. 2019??? Meenauah fought dark wizards.

So, really if you wanted anything "big" for your character, you could always host it yourself. Or write it yourself, without needing staff to run it.

FAQ — Questions
I used to host main story events. These were mini adventures that were developed on the fly depending on which house won the house cup and tied into a larger story. There were numerous issues with the system sadly, mainly in sustained activity for the participants - many members would join these threads and then stop posting after entering. Some posturing themselves in dangerous situations, taking on a plot-relevant role before metaphorically dropping the ball. There were also other logistical challenges I do not think users fully appreciated I wont elaborate on. But there was also complaints about the content - the events were not interesting (sometimes that was the case because players failed to trigger the trauma and sometimes it was just not interesting to them), wanted the focus to be on certain users who earned more points (it wasn't), or they wanted other prizes such as galleons. These complaints are legitimate and fair because they are how some users felt. I attempted to resuscitate MS in another format with the hex wizard, I outreached several users to play pivotal roles and got their attestation that they would remain active in their role. That lasted a few weeks before multiple members decided they no longer wanted the responsibility, wanted another character, or had a falling out with another member and no longer wished to participate.

I have not tried again since, but have done some small things over the years as one-offs without warning.
