Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
ReducioInsatiably curious, immune to insecurity, incapable of stillness. All of these were ways Aislin Darragh had been described by family or neighbors or a worn-out tutor, and they were exaggerating, but only a little. She was difficult not to notice, and whether that made her charming was debatable, incredibly subjective to an individual’s tastes and openness to such subjects as insect fun facts. She certainly lacked the grace and charm of her more well-off and traditionally-raised peers who could dance circles around her when it came to etiquette. But distracting? Distracting she could do. Distracting came with being a kid who had already lost the attention of one parent and could never seem to hold enough of the other’s, even as an only child.
Aislin made herself heard wherever she was, beneath roofs or clouds, thoughts spilling out through a questionable filter. She seemed not to have learned that streams of questions could be annoying, the result of good parenting at least in the category of fostering curiosity, and so asked the ‘stupid’ questions unflinchingly. Words were what really gave Aislin gravity, because she had so many of them stored up in clusters around any subject she was or had at some point been passionate about—most bugs, frogs, wand lore, the specifics of magical antiques preservation—and they were all primed to share to whoever drifted the conversation close enough to their orbit. The average kid might not find worms fascinating, but they very well might be caught up in how animatedly Aislin could talk about them, eager to stuff in details and talking slightly too fast, like she might lose her chance. That piece was courtesy of having older cousins, focused on leading their own fun and plowing past Aislin’s ideas if she didn’t figure out how to share them quickly enough.
It wasn’t intentional, but her apparent commitment to stillness only in sleep, constantly bouncing a leg or fiddling with her bracelet beads, called on the instinctual attention given to anything in motion. It might earn her a glance, a huff as it got on someone’s nerves, but that was all attention enough to flash a smile, introduce herself with first and last name the way she’d been taught, maybe even stick a hand out to shake. Aislin was a typically friendly person, and that made any shortcomings in the polish of her presentation seem more like endearing quirks. She had dimples when she smiled and big brown eyes. She did very little in parts.
Judgement did not seem to exist in her headspace, any glares or disapproval rolling off her like water on a raincoat. It had yet to occur to her to be embarrassed about assembling outfits like she had puzzle pieces from different sets or for liking the feeling of dirt under her nails. Maybe it boiled down to this: Aislin existed in her own skin and already understood that it was no one else’s to live in, so why act any differently?

The young wizard known as Maximus Thorne has two loves or commonly referred to by his parents as obsessions. The first is music, at 8 years of age he got his first guitar and has taught himself to be a mighty fine guitarist. The second is birds and owls, this one his been practically since birth. His very first known act of magic come during an accident that involved his "need" to get closer to song bird in a tree. The affinity he has shown with these feathered creatures thru his childhood has often stunned his parents. As a toddler he was able to coax his father's irritable old owl Sherman to come to him.
His poor mother would often lose him during a few moments of distraction to find him out in the yard. There he'd be sitting with small bird on his shoulder chirping while he gigled. The boy would just sit patiently, softly whistle and the birds who nested in the nearby trees would come to pay him a visit.
One thing Max learned about his gift was that the smarter the bird the longer it would take to befriend it. The animals around his home were your normal small variety that were use to him. Wild owls and other intelligent birds would take more of an effort, plenty of patience and time to get use to his presence.
It was roughly a year before Max was to start at Hogwarts when he'd have a fated meeting with a curious little raven. This little raven was drawn to Max during one of the boys outings in a nearby wooded area where he practiced his guitar. After a few days the raven and the boy had started to bond. The bond was set one evening when the boy was about to be attacked by a stray aggressive dog. After Max had rolled his ankle and fell helpless, he shouted for help and it was the little raven who came. The brave little fellow confronted the dog confusing it. With a loud squawk the bird called for his brethren and like a swarm they showed up and chased the aggressor off.
Since that day the raven became known as Loki and Maxs best friend and companion. Max spent the better part of the year getting to know and training Loki. While the intelligent bird took well to training, coming when called and even doing a few tricks there was one problem. Problem was Loki's mischievous nature, he liked shiny things and would tend to "borrow" things that belonged to other people. Fearing this would cause problems for Max at Hogwarts his parents decided Loki needed to stay home.
When it was time to collect the necessary items for school from diagon alley, Max paid a visit to the pet shop. Max always tried to sneak off to this shop when in the area. During this visit he was admiring the beautiful selection of owls when one especially caught his eye. The shopkeeper who believed this owl to be a bit of troublesome creature was surprised when instead of being biten Max had been allowed to stroke her. This magnificent great horned owl had chose to go with the boy when he offered his arm to her. While the pair didn't have much time before the start of semester Max and his new companion Olivia have been forming a bond.

Lucille's whole life has been centered around animals. She extends an immense deal of empathy towards them, and the girl has spent countless hours researching and reading about how best to interact with them. The key things she's picked up are to reward them for doing the right thing, and try not to scold them when they do something wrong. They probably don't understand what you're scolding them for, unless you interrupt them during the misbehavior. With the hours spent with an array of different animals, it was only natural for these principles to slowly cement themselves into Lucille's personality.
It could be seen by the extraordinary patience the girl had at such a young age. It could be seen in the way she always praised the dog for coming to her, even if he'd ignored her earlier on. Lucille held no grudges; Lucille never angered. Her boisterous personality apparently did not extend to her temper. And when Lucille would fall off her horse, her first instinct would be to get back up and check to make sure it was okay.
Before long, that patience extended to people, too. Lucille was quickly the recipient of her friends' secrets, their confidante, and gaining a reputation for never losing her temper. In fact, if Lucille of all people was mad at you, you had probably done something wrong.
Her empathy led her to be a safe space for people. Lucille wasn't the best at social cues, but most people quickly understood that you could say almost anything to this girl and she wouldn't mind. She let people be themselves; to bluntly ask for space, when otherwise they'd seem rude; to rant to their heart's content without ever wondering if they were bothering Lucille; and to tell her whatever they wanted, knowing the talk would stay private.
Perhaps the only thing that ever made Lucille properly angry was if you hurt the ones she loved. She was quick to defend people from bullies, and even quicker to jump to the defense of an innocent animal. Although Lucille herself was hardly a threat, her kind nature meant a lot of people were often quick to leap to her aid.
Lucille has even been quick to dismiss wrongdoings against her. She bears no grudges, believing hate requires too much energy when moving on requires much less. If a friend has betrayed her, Lucille has often opted to simply remove them from her life, and they have had faith that Lucille would spread no rumors; tell no lies. The girl's strong moral code forbids it. Lucille simply tries to treat others as she wishes to be treated; a cliche, perhaps, but good advice nonetheless.
Lucille is well aware that she dominates conversations; however, it is usually an attempt to put the other person at ease. Lucille loves to listen, and she is quick to quiet down when her companion wishes to speak instead. Most people find her as a safe space; someone who can provide an abundance of stories and conversation when you wish to distract yourself, or a kind, listening ear when you wish to share something, or comfortable silence.
Maybe this was because Lucille never judged. She simply takes what someone says to her at face value, no judgment, no strings attached. The welcoming environment often makes people feel at ease, especially since Lucille is always trying to see things from their perspective. She is appreciative when approached with a secret, and consciously tries to create an inviting atmosphere so people do not feel excluded or alone.
Perhaps the reason the girl has molded herself to be patient and kind is seeing that the world lacks it. She is well aware of how gullible she is, since she believes everyone should be given the benefit of the doubt, but she refuses to change this about herself. Lucille sees herself as a pretty average, unremarkable person, and she believes that if she can do some good in the world, then much better people are certainly doing amazing things. And so, Lucille is deliberate in her decisions, constantly trying to be a good person, constantly trying to bring light to people, constantly trying to be there for others.

Frustrating.
It was one word to describe Xailah's whims. Possibly the most common. Attention was given sparsely; regard, in slivers; acknowledgement was dripped meagerly through the vein of an eyedropper to those who sought it, that is.
It was hard to impress someone whose gaze was always turned to the stars or the outline of a dream on the horizon. Holding hands buried so deeply into the earth, and fingers entwined thoroughly in blood, was impossible. Calls often went unheard; her name a shadow on one's tongue. How could she hear them when her ear was trained to listen for heartbeats, and secrets delivered by wind? Many interested in the company of the she-cat were forced to come to terms with a bitter truth: they would never be forefront in her life. How could they be? She was always looking at something greater than them in the distance. She had no room for them. Not Then. Not ever- so several had decided when their efforts bore no fruit. And that made pursuit of her frustrating.
She didn't experience enthrallment in others. Intrigue was only expressed when it was beneficial to do so, and engagement was a tool for paving pathways; an exceptionally effective one when utilized in the right circumstances. The only connections she held an interest in were ones of symbiotic nature. Those seeking more would find out what she was, in their own time: a tease. Available, when it suited her, perhaps, but intangible all the same. Slippery as she was suave.
While inconvenient for many, her dismissal didn't always draw ire or exasperation. Meadow, Xailah's younger sister, found her regard (or rather, lack thereof) for her pursuers curious. Xailah could give her sound advice for expanding on expendable relationships (and an occasional sage word for sustaining more long-term ones, if that suited the younger Alptraum's fancy), but the woman was distinctly indifferent when inquired about things more... committed. It wasn't avoidance. It was simply different wiring.
On one occasion, Meadow sought wisdom from her elder sibling, on the complicated matter of attraction. "Have you ever liked someone? You know- like liked?" The girl had been dealing with her own confusing teenage quandaries at the time.
"No. I have always been quite indifferent in that regard." Xailah had told her simply. And that was the truth. She did not conform.
And then she met Barrow.
An anomaly in the equation.
Barrow Leveret would become the only person Xailah turned away from the sky for. He never wanted to keep her like others had; confine her to a cage or pedestal. He was enthusiastic, but patient. Attentive, yet never intrusive or forceful. Safe. With her discovery of him, her answer changed.
Maybe she was mostly indifferent- but just that- only mostly.
Choice, was the only exception. And she chose Barrow.

Young Vivi always had been proficient in Charms. Even from before she started learning in Hogwarts.
It all started one day while she was exploring her rather big house as a 10 year old, she found a corridor hidden behind a poster in the study which led to a door. The door looked ancient but not dusty. This meant this room was still under use. Vivi heard some mysterious whispers which echoed from it! She carefully turned the rusted knob of the door and there she saw!! Bundles and bundles of books stacked on the wooden planks fixed on the beautifully tapestry wall. She stepped inside slowly with excitement taking in everything that she saw and moved towards the long desk placed in the centre of the room. The desk had a lot of drawers and compartments. Each of the drawers had a lot parchments stored inside. She then walked towards a glass closet with a wooden frame with many tropheys and medals displayed in it. The closet had a single line engraved on it 'Prodigia incantationum in familia Gratiae'. "What does it mean?" thought Vivi. Certainly something interesting. At that moment her mother called her to eat supper, so she left the room and went back to the study.
While she was eating supper with her parents, she reported her findings earlier. Her father smiled, "That my girl is the Chamber of charms" he said "It is the place where our ancestors of the Grace family learnt, practised and invented charms spells." "Invented? Our ancestors invented spells?" squealed Vivi with excitement. "Yes! The Grace family is known for many prodigies in the magical field of charms. I was not given that ability that our ancestors got though I was quite talented in transfiguration." "Papa? I want to learn charms too!!! Can you teach me?" asked Vivi. "Of course. Maybe you have the aptitude of learning charms Vivi!" answered her father.
The next day Vivi along with her father went inside the Chamber of charms. Her father went towards the left most of the wooden planks on which the books rested. He took out a book bounded with leather and gave it to Vivi. "Let's start with this" he said. Vivi read the title on the cover of the book - 'Beginner Charms - a Guide'. Vivi opened the first page and read its contents. It was all about how to hold a wand, to enunciate the incantation, and to properly cast a charm. "But I don't have a wand!!!" exclaimed Vivi. Her father gave a toy wand to her. "You cannot use a wand so you can use this to practice for holding and movement. " Her father then patiently taught her every day about the holding the wand, enunciating and the wand movement of many charm spells.
By the time she entered Hogwarts she had a understanding of most of the basic spells. In the charms class of the First year, she managed to cast the spell that was taught, perfectly on the first try and proceeded to cast the remaining spells in her book while her peers were struggling with the first spell. Her training with her father proved to be fruitful after all!!!!!

- abilities are not super powers or something that strongly sets you apart from your peers, they are mostly used for flavor and unique trait builds
- the ability in particular which you have picked is described as such "You read ahead in your textbooks, perhaps have learned some charms at home from parents or a tutor. You find yourself already familiar with the spells being taught in class." None of which implies what you have written
- before the start of the hogwarts journey (including the first summer camp as part of that journey) Vivi would have not been able to cast magic intentionally, while she could have learned about the existence of some spells, she would not have learned to cast them
- please provide more information about the chamber of charms on the Grace property
- as for the history of the family as spell makers, we currently do not have a system for this, so any mention of this would have to be as vague as it can be, so no naming any specific spells or what they can or cannot do. Because if site adds those spells or spells like that, there would be a conflict. So while you can claim that they were spell makers, you cannot actually have any NPC (even her family) use the spells or actually claim any spell to be invented by them. If you have questions on this, please let us know!
Approved, 20th of August 2025 - Oonagh
Just a reminder that even if you call her or her family members a prodigy this would not be like a magic feat or skill, it is just that her family seems to be good at charms like how some people are good at math and have an aptitude for it while others do not!

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Lovely Creature
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
“Lovely creature” is an apt description for Camille because he is not just good-looking, he is good-looking to the point of commanding space around him. He is the kind of person who walks into a room and without uttering a single word can change the room. Everything about him feels calculated - the perfect symmetry of his face, the defined angles of his cheekbones and jawline, the way the hazel of his eyes populated the worlds around him. He carries himself like a person who occupies space and has no shame in letting the rest of the world feel it.
But Camille’s beauty is not the soft kind of beauty. It is distracting, it is arresting, and it is sometimes inconvenient—for other people, not for Camille. People stammer when they talk to him as they are caught up between his stolid, unreadable expressions and the gravitational pull of his stare. Along with his full and shapely lips and inherent sensuality, his look can confuse people into voicing comments of admiration, envy or putting themselves in a vulnerable position of attraction. It is not just that he is good-looking; it is that once you look at him, he becomes a picture that you struggle to erase.
What only reinforces this notion is that Camille already knows how to wield it. His ballet training has given him a nimbleness of movement that sets him apart from his fellows. Stage or casual company, Camille has a precision to the graceful way that he turns his head; the immaculate way he stands; the poise he gives to a shared pause in conversation. All of these seemingly minor and insignificant details that render him ungraspable—cultured to appear somehow vintage and somehow intimidating. It is the embodiment of a painting—beautiful, yes; but it also finds a way to be unreal and ideal no less, as if available for viewing only just out of reach.
The term "a lovely creature" captures not only his looks but the impact that those looks have on others. He can be a distraction, and to the point where it turns into something distorting. People project their ideas onto him; they admire him and lose themselves to wonder, or they mistake his grace for gentleness when gentleness just obscures a sharpness and maybe a little anger. Admirers commonly mistake Camille's silence for mystery, involvement for desire, and performances for intimacy. He understands this and he may roll his eyes at the screams of fans but he eats it up just the same, knowing for a moment that beauty carries some power.

Long before the Haitian witch had ever become a devoted wife, Sarai remained a recluse.
Distant, untrusting, callous—symptoms of a broken heart that never quite healed. A deep-seated resentment, self-loathing, and embarassment replaced her once eccentric and prideful nature amid her early years at Castelobruxo; Armand Ocasio would be the man behind her downfall.
Her world ended amid a summertime romance with the recently graduated 7th year from whom bestowed the Toussaint woman with twin sons. Their relationship fizzled fast following a letter revealing Sarai's newly discovered pregnancy that went unanswered; little did she know, Armand had been a married, lying, cheating snake all along. Amid her pregnancy with his brood, the Caribbean-bred witch withdrew from her family out of shame and fear. In place of kin, the flora and fauna of Haiti's humid swamplands would be the girl's only source of companionship—the only ones who knew the Toussaint girl's secrets. Unrevealed truths such as her wrath, regrets, unattainable dreams, and fear of failure.
Upon the day of her sons' birth, the emotions of self-hatred only intensified. These secretly harboured sentiments tempered her maternal instinct, and it devastated Sarai beyond reason to look upon Alphonse and Briar in the eyes—especially her eldest who was a spitting-image of Armand. Guilt and contempt riddled her psyche, but the Toussaint woman strove to remain as present and compassionate as the young witch mentally could between a career in Herbology and mental straits that tormented her so.
It wasn't until the Caribbean-bred witch met a motorcycle-riding stranger that she finally felt alive as opposed to simply surviving. In Fabian Fleischer was a kindred spirit who confided in her with his dreams and sense of adventure, and she in him.
Both acquitted with minds of great intellect, a connection flourished naturally for the pair—and after nearly eight years together, after a terrorist attack in Hogsmeade nearly claimed Sarai's life, they finally decided to elope.
What was meant to be a happy occasion, was underlain with doubts and fear. Between her sons attending Castelobruxo, Fabian headmastering at Ilvermorny, and Sarai teaching at Hogwarts, the worrier inside dreaded a repeat attack claiming her husband or sons, yet concealed this apprehension.
In the coming weeks later, Sarai would discover herself pregnant with another set of twins, and with this addition to their former family of four, Fabian stepped down from his position at Ilvermorny to purchase a secondary home in Hogsmeade. Despite Hogsmeade being the root of the Toussaint-Fleischer family's trauma, it was the only rational solution to remain present in the twins' lives throughout the school year. In addition, Fabian and the Caribbean-bred woman longed for improved communication should they find themselves separated in dire straits once more.
Thus, Sarai reached out to every mentor she had since obtained in her professional career, contacted knowledgeable kin, and devoured every tome she could get her hands upon in relation to magical communication. Amid her search, the Haitian witch discovered a binding mark that would allow telepathic communication between parties, and after much deliberation between them regarding appearances, placement, and activation phrases, they agreed on a mark and bound themselves together in order to protect their children and one another.

Since the very beginning, something about Ewan set him apart from the other children, even before he first displayed signs of his magical ability.
The young boy seemed to notice things that most people tended to overlook: for example, the faint shift in the air that preceded a storm, or even how the sea subtly swelled before high-tide.
His mother, Isobel, would encourage these ‘gut feelings’ of his and would tell him, with a knowing smile, to hone his ‘intuition’. Her quiet support gave Ewan the courage he needed to lean into it, instead of being afraid or dismissing it as coincidences. Which is what tended to happen: other people would shrug his observations off as happenstance.
There was no denying, however, that every so often his feelings would prove accurate. For instance, at primary school Ewan would mutter odd little remarks about the ‘wrongness’ of the fluorescent lights buzzing overhead, or about how the class hamster ‘looked weird today’: all of these subtle comments were more often than not followed by something unusual happening - such as a surprise test, or an impromptu fire drill.
This budding ‘sixth sense’ seemed to take shape especially during his wanderings in the wilderness around Portree. Ewan loved to roam the hills and the coastline, gathering trinkets (shells, twigs, rocks, feathers) as he went. During these explorations he’d often pause and tilt his head slightly, squinting at a patch of ground or at a boulder he’d passed by. Wouldn’t you know it, there was something ‘more’ about them: the ground patch concealed an animal den, the rock was faintly carved with markings that you’d have known were there only if you’d had run your hand over them.
The young MacLeod had a knack for *watching*, and he further honed this skill by truly paying attention to what he was perceiving. He’d commit to memory how an animal would shift their weight before bolting, or how a person’s facial expressions would subtly change depending on how they were feeling inside or on what they were about to do. Over time, Ewan had learned to recognise these ‘patterns’ and to know where they lead (at first unknowingly, but deliberately as time passed). After all, if Ewan wanted to become a great truth-seeker and secret-revealer, he’d need to be able to pick up on details that most wouldn’t even consider.
By the time Ewan had received his acceptance letter, his peculiar awareness had become second nature. While others only scanned the surface, Ewan would instinctively know there was something else, something more to be sought.

Sophie first feared darkness. Her sister Charlotte took her to the home of an elderly Muggle neighbour, and whispered in Sophie’s ear that the man lost his leg after eating a child fresh from the womb. Charlotte laughed at Sophie’s disgust and led her further into the neighbour’s sheep paddocks, up to an old tool shed. Little Sophie, just past her third birthday and more clueless than a fish on land, stepped into the shed, as a gust came by and slammed the door shut. Enveloped in darkness, Sophie rushed to open the door, but found it jammed. She cried for Charlotte to let her out, but try as she might she could not. For half an hour Sophie huddled in silence, her thoughts conjuring up savage old men and demon babies and all types of monsters in the shadows. Charlotte managed to open the door using an axe after the time passed, but from that day Sophie always requested a candle by her bed at night.
Sophie then feared grief. There passed exactly two weeks between the death of Sophie’s father and the interference of her mother’s parents. In these two weeks, her mother Thora did not move from a seat by the kitchen table, as she watched through a westerly window the sun fall, then the moon, in an endless cycle. Sophie watched helplessly as Charlotte begged her mother to eat, then begged her mother to get up, then collapsed into tears herself. There was no light in her mother’s eyes, and when Sophie took her mother’s hand, it was limp like a doll’s. Every now and then, she would take a shuddering breath, that made Sophie shiver and feel cold all over. Eventually, Thora was placed in the care of her parents, but Sophie hoped desperately that she’d never lose someone so special to her as her father had been to her mother.
Sophie then feared screams. Upon her guardian Bryn’s destruction of his family accounts, the delicate and graceful (although undoubtedly clueless) man found himself surrounded by the wrath of his extended family. For months, Sophie listened as they called each other names, threatened to do terrible things, and bemoaned the hardships of their lives. She escaped to the distant confines of her bedroom, but even if she closed the door and wrapped herself tight in a blanket, she could still hear the crashes and yells; and most distinctly, the screams. They were ferocious and desolate, and called for murder. She hated how the family transformed into thoughtless beasts, apathetic and self-absorbed. Some months in, the family grew tired of their feuds, but still Sophie swore she’d never let such a sound like a scream leave her month, ever.
One morning, sitting outside and watching a thin spider crawl upon her knee, Sophie decided that to fear is to be stupid, to be irrational. She decided, in that determined way of hers, that she is not the type of person to be stupid or irrational. For what is darkness but a blanket that obscures all monsters She thought. What is grief but refusing to say goodbye? What are screams but the sounds of an animal incapable of thought?
There is only one fear that remains; one so deep and buried Sophie is only reminded of it far into the night, if she is alone but for her thoughts, and that is the fear of being ordinary. But, apart from this one fallacy, and for everyone beside herself, Sophie is devoid of fear. For she is sick of being controlled by something so silly.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Nonverbal Magic
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
ReducioRose leveled her wand at the training dummy. "Flipendo!" she said, the wand movement fast and familiar in her wrist.
The spell hit the dummy with a bang, pushing it back before it teetered back into place.
Rose had been practicing her nonverbal magic for months now, and she was sure that today was the day that she was finally going to do it. So far, she had been able to mutter the spells under her breath, but not truly cast a spell nonverbally. It was strange- Rose was so good at spellcasting and had put so much work into perfecting spells that it surprised her how difficult it was to cast them nonverbally. Of course, learning in class, she was fully aware that some of her classmates continued to mutter the incantations under their breath, pretending as if they had mastered the skill. But that wasn't enough for Rose. She wanted to truly be able to cast nonverbal magic.
Maybe it was because she had drilled the spells so much that she found it so difficult to cast them without the incantations. Perhaps her body was so used to the word that she kept hitting a wall when practicing. She needed not to focus on the word or the well-practiced mechanics of a spell, but the intention behind it.
She had chosen a simple spell, one she had been doing for years that was basically vital for dueling. The Knockback Jinx was muscle memory, and that's why she chose it for her first nonverbal spell.
"Flipendo," she murmured. "Flipendo." The sound was no louder than a breath, inaudible to the majority of people, even if they were standing right next to her. She breathed in deep, and out deep. Pointed her wand at the dummy with laser-focus.
Her wand made a small whistle as it sliced through the air.
Bang.
The spell hit the dummy, not quite as strong as her spells usually were, but there it was. She had cast a spell without saying the incantation. Rose was shocked at herself, but couldn't help the grin that spread over her face. And it was truly like she had broken through a wall.
The Knockback Jinx.
Fire-making spell.
Blue Sparks Charm.
She started off simple, casting spells that felt natural. Each hit the dummy in succession, though Rose's lips stayed in a quiet smile. Each filled with intention, their wand movements precise, her focus intense. Then, she got more complicated.
Glacius Tria.
The Head-Growing Curse.
The Reductor Curse.
Rose lowered her wand, panting. These spells were difficult enough on her own, and she felt her chest fill with warmth and pride knowing she could cast them without even saying a word.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Apparition
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
ReducioApparition was a strange magical ability. It was technically a spell, but didn't have a wand movement or an incantation like so many other spells Rose had learned. It was one of the abilities that was most useful to wizarding life, and Rose knew that she wanted to learn how to apparate over the summer before her seventh year. Obviously, she couldn't use it at Hogwarts, due to the charm that prevented it, but still, she wanted to learn how to because of how useful it was.
Rose had a leg up on getting used to the dizzying feeling that so many of her classmates experienced. Being an animagus of a much smaller animal than a human, Rose was used to the sudden lurch of the air around her as reality contorted itself. She was at least grateful for that.
In the class at the Ministry, they had talked about the three D's. Destination, determination, and deliberation. It was important to know exactly where you wanted to go, and to be completely focused and intentional on going there.
Right now, Rose was so nervous, she couldn't remember any of them. The only D she could remember was Diricrawl.
Diricrawls could apparate. Kinda. If those silly birds could do it, Rose could, too.
She had just been called into the testing room, and she nodded along to the instructor as they explained the test, pointing out the two marked spots where she was supposed to disapparate and apparate again.
She let out a deep breath.
"Whenever you're ready, Miss Moon," the instructor said.
She could hear her brother's voice in the back of her mind telling her that the chemicals in the brain that made you feel nervous were almost the same chemicals that made you feel excited. Therefore, it was occasionally difficult to tell the difference between the two. Some people found it useful to tell themselves that they weren't nervous at all, they were simply excited.
This wasn't that different than dueling (another D right now that wasn't helpful), she told herself. She wasn't nervous. She was just excited. And that excitement would help her, just like in a duel.
Rose lifted her chin, just like she would in a duel. Steadied her breathing, and stared daggers at the marked spot she was meant to apparate to.
Three D's that she was supposed to focus on, and right now all Rose could think about was dueling and Diricrawls.
The redhead stepped forward, turning on her heel, and kept the spot firmly in her mind.
A second later, she was finding her balance on the other side of the testing room.
Rose turned to the instructor, a smile of relief on her face. She did it. The instructor looked her over carefully, inspecting her for any minor splinches or flaws in her apparition. Then, finally, they stepped back and nodded. "Congratulations, Miss Moon. You have passed."
