Yeah, if you are interested in it, you can pursue it. It's not something I love anymore, I just feel.. disgust in all honesty when I think about it, but I know people are interested in these kind of things and I just have to hope that they have good teachers and good influences in their education and life to help them maintain this interest.Amalie Leclerc wrote: 25 Jun 2026, 01:00Ooh, cool! Now I'm definitely considering pursuing this field...Remy Break wrote: 25 Jun 2026, 00:55I don't know what the criminal justice classes were like for herAmalie Leclerc wrote: 25 Jun 2026, 00:42Like a basic class in college/uni, or did she major in forensics or sth... sorry if I was unclear![]()

But I do know I started criminal justice as a CTE in high school starting 2021, ending 2023. Best teacher ever. That may have only been 3 classes (Intro to Criminal Justice, The Fourth Amendment, and Forensics (actually there were four but I didn't take dual credit classes)) but I loved them in high school.
In community college when I was getting my associates of science in criminal justice, I took Introduction to Criminal Justice, Introduction to Corrections, Introduction to the Legal Process, Homeland Security (I definitely annoyed the professor with my stark opinions ;-;), Crime Scene Investigation and Criminal Investigation. I needed to take Intro to Criminal Justice, Intro to Legal Process, Criminal Investigation plus three Criminal Justice electives on top of the Compass Cores (English Comp, Literature, History, Sciences, etc) to get my associates.
Anyways, what I was getting to was I thought that was what I wanted. That one instructor made me dislike the major and field. That said, I originally fell in love with the idea in high school, so I thought I'd go and study to be a Forensic Technician, because that's what I wanted, and I wanted to have a specific field to be great in; Forensic Odontology. (aka teeth and teeth impressions).
The classes were pretty repetitive, I will admit that. If you learn something in one class, you'll likely hear the very same things with slight additions or modifications in another. Forensics and Crime Scene Investigation was great because it didn't repeat the same things being said in the other classes I took for that major and in high school.
Aww that sucks :< I hate when teachers, or in your case the instructor, ruins the entire subject for ya! Its the worst urgh
Oh goody! I hate when stuff is repeated...
Thank you for all this info <33

Oh! I’m still in high school, so I did a broad overview/intro level to it.Amalie Leclerc wrote: 25 Jun 2026, 00:38Hehe I hope so too! It was fun as a class (one of my friends irl is actually pursuing a career in forensics because of it!) but I’m not going to do it as a field. It is interesting though!Amalie Leclerc wrote: 25 Jun 2026, 00:34That sounds awesome and a lot of fun! You studied forensics? That's so cool!!
Lol, lmk your thoughts when you're done! Its quite detailed, especially in that regard!I took a forensics class last year and loved it! We got to try and solve mock crime scenes and even created one for another csi team in our class to solve! It was a great class! I learned a lot there that I use now.

Mhmm, forensics is a cool field to pursue...
That's seriously cool though! If I may ask, in what level did you follow this class?
We only have one class for it taught every other year, so I got lucky that it fit within my schedule!
My actual university degree when I graduate high school as of right now I plan to be a Bachelor of Science in Communications and hopefully a minor in history.

It’s okay that you don’t know what to do yet with your life! I’ve known plenty of people that go into college unannounced of what they want to do then go to college and find what they love! Others know and have everything planned out then end up changing 5-6 times if they find something they love more where others keep their path. It all depends on who you are and what you love!
