Well, that was good!

It had been a stroke of luck that they had matched her outfit for the ball. He'd thought green would go good with anything and it just so happened that Sophia had been wearing a green dress! The girl then mentioned she and Sage had indulged in a little snack before and Kim wondered what kind of snack it had been. He might want some too! Berries and fruit were quite tasty and went really well with cooking and baking. Sophia's cheeks had turned reddish.

And Kim wondered if that was all it took to get her flustered. He should teach her some tricks on how to not let things bother her, but then again it was kind of cute how she acted like this. Of course, he wasn't into her in [i]that[/i] way, due to certain reasons. But it wasn't as if she knew this. With the arrival of the chocolate frog perched on top of the teacup, Sophia's color faded as if she'd finally realized his intentions. She tried to return to her elegant facade once again.

Only to discover she'd been duped by a red herring.

The squeal she let out had made him almost choke on his drink.

He'd picked one up a second ago. As she turned her desperate face towards him, Kim was about to tell her how to get it off when she turned around to Sage and asked for help in getting it off her nose. And then Gem smacked his arm and hurried over to help the girl.

Kim's intentions had ulterior motives.

That much was true.

But it wasn't as if he was intentionally trying to flirt with others.

He had no interest in truly doing so. Right now, all that was on his mind was to learn as much as he could at Hogwarts, become a good duelist and make powerful connections. Tonight, his goal was to simply distract and fluster his target, so that their guard would lower. It seemed as if he'd been successful in that regard. Of course, he'd apologize later on, but for now he'd enjoy her reaction. Plus, he had another prank he wanted to pull off at the ball, a good one.

One that would have nothing to do with the three girls gathered around him right now.

But therein lay the problem.

Kim didn't want anyone to know the one responsible for the prank was him.

How to pull that off? Well, he'd need to be left on his own for a time.

And then the answer dawned on him.

He walked over to the small group, where Sophia, Sage and Gem were busy trying to pry the nose-biting teacup off the former girl's nose. Kim cleared his throat a little.

[color=#004080][b]"Will you excuse me for a moment? I think someone brought a cat into the room and I forgot my allergy pill back at the dorms."[/b][/color] Kim said, giving an excuse as to why he was going to temporarily leave. [color=#004080][b]"I won't be too long, give me a few minutes and I'll be back before you know it."[/b][/color] He told the girls and nodded over at the healer's tent. [color=#004080][b]"You can go over there and get one of the higher-years to help you get the teacup off."[/b][/color]

Kim suggested with a faint twitch of his lips.

And then, he left.

Once he was out of sight of the small group, Kim made a detour and took out a special prank item from his satchel. It was a bunch of exploding bon-bons, a set of 10 of them.

Carefully looking around him, Kim searched for the best places to place them. At the moment, no one seemed to be paying attention to him as they were all in their own little groups, or busy with food fights, improptu duels or other drama. He placed one near the middle of each of the tables of the five schools present, making sure the item was nestled safely out of vision range. And now there were five left for him to place elsewhere. Where?

Where should they go? Kim moved across the dance floor, letting his eyes flicker around the area. He noticed a few familiar faces and a bunch of unfamiliar ones. Some of the events going on were quite interesting to witness. But Kim made sure to stay out of range of the large crowds. He didn't want to get squeezed and pushed around, that was something he would avoid at all costs. Ah, there. Kim placed a bonbon near the door that led outside.

Those leaving the Great Hall to go to the festivities would be required to leave through those doors. It would be hilarious if it exploded when someone was trying to leave.

Four more.

Right. The Goblet of Fire. That was an important location.

Kim crept closer to the area and subtly placed a bonbon at the foot of the goblet, when no one was watching him. Three to go. Now where? Perhaps he'd place one near some of the crowds.

He continued to wander through the crowds of people, making sure to never get caught between anyone. And placed a bonbon near a group of Koldovstoretz students and also near a duel that some Durmstrang students were involved in. Now he had one left and this one he tossed into the middle of the dance floor. Finished with his elaborate prank, Kim headed back to the potluck table, although made a slight detour to the healer's tent to check up on Sophia.

Time to apologize!
