I try not to have less than 30 galleons at a time. I only have 23 right not, but that is because I bought permission slips for Noah.

I don't regret buying the permission form tho. Just wished I'd get to 2nd year faster. I would have, last time, but stupid me forgot that I had to be in the index to move up, and I didn't apply for the index.

All the players whom are registered on the Index and have logged into the site at least once since the beginning of the year, will be automatically moved up to the next year.

So does this mean if you are registered on the Index as a First Year, you auto move up to Second Year July 1st and you don't need to apply to be turned to a Second Year? You only need to post an update on the form to have them add all the First Year spells you auto get upon graduating? Also, random question for any who know, is there a graduation ceremony IC when First Years graduate to Second Years?

Yes, there is an Ending Ceremony every year where everyone is free to participate I believe
