Secret Blossom Ball
This is a Moderation Post
The FiresNote: Disadvantage on a DC 15 check to find items at the ball (utensils, jugs, and ice buckets) that were not mentioned/described in a moderation post.
The Bags@Anastasia Beckett's screams were an obvious call for help. She writhed on the ground, helpless and in excruciating pain while the tulle of her dress acted like fuel for the fire engulfing her. @Astrea Soleil Neptune would be one of the first to act, considering she had been right there when the girl had ignited. She was clearly horrified by the situation, but she did not hesitate to flourish her wand.
"Extinguo!"
Astrea's voice was not alone in the incantation. Several other students from all over the Quidditch Pitch had rushed to the princess' aid, wanting to put an end to her suffering. @Dealla Prince had only just arrived and found the the ball in chaos, but her first action was to aid this poor fireball. @Thora Larkston had abandoned her bid for a valuable bag in order to help. And @Evelynn Decipio had heard the screams from high up in the air, and pointed her wand down on the scene. Although only three of the casts were successful, they all landed on the burning girl with gusto. For a moment, and only a moment, the fire ceased! It looked like they had been successful!
Then - as quickly as it had gone out - the fire resumed. It engulfed the girl's skin once more, burning bright and hot and unaffected by the magic.
Two girls, @Amara Dragamior and @Ivy Bellamy, had the idea to manually extinguish the flames with water! Unable to find a huge source of water, they would both return to the scene with goblets instead. Perhaps working together, four goblets of water might turn the tide against the flames! Alas, they poured the water onto Anastasia and saw the same effect. The water put out the flames wherever they touched, but the flame merely reignited immediately after.
Amara noticed in this moment that the girl she was trying to help was the same girl who had punched her friend Gem. Shocked by this sudden realization, she would drop the empty goblets (internally hoping it would fall onto Anastasia) only to realize that she had forgotten to aim. The heavy goblets landed squarely on her feet, causing 10 damage to herself.
Because she had not been put out, and she continued to flail on the ground, fire had begun to spread to the grass around Anastasia.
@Victor Moore immediately knew the reason behind being engulfed in flames. His eyes sought the vase of flowers and saw that they were on fire. Through the excruciating pain, he made his way towards Anastasia and her saviors (meanwhile, no one had even attempted to aid him). When he finally reached the flowers, he was joined by @Jack Burnett, who had brought a single goblet of water, his other hand holding a torch. Clearly, he was trying to help Victor in whatever he was doing. Victor cast extinguo as best he could through the pain of being burned alive. At the same time, Jack was pouring water on the roses, but considering there were a hundred of them, only a few were put out. As Victor's spell hit the roses, though, it seemed the pain had overcome him and he'd fumbled the spell. Rather than putting them out, he merely reignited the roses that Jack had managed to extinguish with water. The reignition amplified the fire, causing a new round of pain and critical damage for this round.EXTINGUO ON ANASTASIA

FAIL - grabbed a goblet of water insteadOver by some tables, @Erin Ryan and @Thomas Lestrange were going at it. In a bid to end the fighting, @Ruka Tân had appeared and began offering out torches to both Thomas and Jack, the latter of whom took his torch to go aid Victor (mentioned earlier). Although Thomas also tried to leave with his new torch, Erin's decision to keep fighting kept him in the area. He dumped some alcohol onto the pitch, and threw the torch he had been given into it. At the same time, @Persephone Barret had suddenly appeared beside Erin and tried to kick her. The part-Veela easily evaded the attack, and she turned her eyes back on her prey. Despite Thomas successfully igniting a small wall of flames between himself and Erin, she was still able to cast her spell at the boy through the fire.Anastasia Beckett and Victor Moore take 50 100 damage from being on fire
"Tarantallegra!"
The boy was hit! He immediately began to do a jig, despite there being no music around. That had stopped long ago when the lights first went out. Luckily for Thomas, it seemed that (next round) Ruka might be willing to free him from the jinx.
Victor's date @Wren Caster over in a corner of the ball had not moved (didn't post) since she had been unpetrified, and would take 25 damage from the still-burning rose on her ear.Erin Alluring Effect (90+): 11

LASTS 2 ROUNDS
Poor @Maria Dee was not actively on fire, but she was burned and hurt, hence her calling for help (but unfortunately receiving no reply).
The SwarmLight had been restored to the ball, and the event was in chaos. Over on the dance floor, though, there was one person who was on a mission and refused to succumb to any distractions. @Selim Faust had chosen to open Vladimir's bag, becoming privy to its contents. He pocketed two of the items in the bag and searched through the rest of it in a hurry, determined to find anything else of note:
Reducio1 set of school clothes
1 large, soft-ball sized phial filled with an unknown substance (taken by Selim Faust)
3 empty mason jars
1 doll that vaguely resembles Marion Davenport (taken by Selim Faust)
1 blanket, plaid. One side flannel, the other a plastic-like
UNDER THE BLANKET:
1 floating candle, unlit
1 locksmithing knife
2 more large, soft-ball sized phials filled with an unknown substance
6 more empty mason jars
1 doll that vaguely resembles Vladimir Athanatos
1 doll that vaguely resembles Victor Moore
Still enraged by the fact that @Willow Anderson had tried to steal it in the first place, @Vladimir Athanatos continued to attack her. Several things were happening at once, and everyone's actions were leading to chaos: @Opeila Seilun, horrified by her date's attack against her friend, attempted to kick him. She failed miserably as Vlad got his roundhouse kick in first, his foot connecting squarely with @Flash Holmwood and dealing 200 damage. The boy had stepped in front of Willow trying to push her out of the way, only to be victim to the attack himself. He landed on his butt dazed and confused, his arms supporting him from behind. As he sat there, he was kicked in the head once more, this time by the kick that had missed Vladimir. Opeila's kick knocked poor Flash's head to the ground and dealt 80 damage.
Despite the violence, a boy suddenly appeared at the corner of Vladimir's vision and spoke. "You must be a campfire. Because you're super hot and I want s'more." It seemed that @Percival Rainwood was trying to get Vladimir's attention, although most would question his sanity at choosing this moment to do so.
Over by the stands, Victor's bag was still being fought over rather than opened. @Bridget Collins chose to forego her attempt at the bag, wanting to unpetrify her ally in this scuffle. She successfully cast the counter charm to Marion's petrification of @Tyranni Whitethorn. The girl on the ground would now be able to move again.Flash Accuracy Roll: 21 vs Vladimir Accuracy Roll: 23

Opeila Accuracy Roll: 23 vs Flash Evasion Roll: 12
As for @Marion Davenport herself, she was distracted by the fact that her friend Victor was still on fire! She would rush off with an apology to Arlo, intent on helping the owner of the bag rather than keeping the bag itself safe. "Extinguo!" Despite the cast being successful and hitting its target, Victor would unfortunately stay aflame. Magic didn't seem to be the answer to his problem.
Back at Victor's bag, @Arlo Reynolds would be the only one left to protect it. @Rafael D'Spacito had abandoned his friend Anastasia - yes, the girl who is literally burning alive - to come here and steal the bag away. The Gryffindor Quidditch Captain looked positively lethal in that moment. Seeing him approach, Arlo would quickly realize there was no point in trying to keep the bag away from him. His only option at this point was offense. So the first year stood tall on his two feet and jumped, extending his pointer finger and successfully poking the boy in his good eye (5 damage). It didn't seem that this would stop the boy, though, and with his (>5) strength, Rafael would easily lift the bag and gain possession.
Bridget Wisdom Roll: 17 (to cast finite)
Marion Wisdom Roll: 14 (to cast extinguo)
Arlo Accuracy Roll: 17 vs Rafael Evasion Roll: 9
Fifth mospSixth mospThis red mosp was stuck in the floor tiles, and could not evade the jet of fire that was cast by Willow. It would take another devastating 110 damage, leaving it looking crispy. At last it would wrench itself free from the floor tiles, buzzing pitifully as it lifted into the air. Its creepy yellow eyes were focused on the blonde, determined to use its next action to finish her off.Willow Auto Hit (90+) Calming: 58
Willow Wisdom Roll: 20 (to cast Incendio)Seventh mospThis huge purple mosp was extremely content in the LGBTQIAP box by the entrance. Its proboscis was having a blast testing all the scents of the different flowers. Unluckily for the mosp, it had no idea there was a child behind a table with the beast in his sights. @Percival Gray had decided to grab some plates from a nearby table, and chucked one right at the mosp. With its attention fully occupied, the mosp had no way of dodging and was dealt 20 damage from the plate smashing into it. The mosp would raise into the air angrily, searching for the source. Unable to find it, the purple mosp would now buzz angrily by the entrance, indicating that maybe those who tried to leave would not be able to do so easily now.Percival Wisdom Roll: 20 11 (to find a knife at a ball with no utensils)
FAIL - grabbed plates instead
Percival Accuracy Roll: 16
Does the Mosp notice Percival? 2 - NOEighth mospThis mosp watched from above as a girl ( @Lizzie Verdine ) appeared from under a table to help its latest victim ( @Mildred Wilson ). Although the purple mosp would not have attacked again if left alone, the girl Lizzie decided to chuck something at it again. The mosp was prepared this time and flew out of the way, then diving with stingers outstretched to retaliate. Lizzie dodged out of the way in time, and Mildred took the opportunity to chuck her earring straight at the mosp. Her earring pierced the mosp directly in the eye (4 8 damage), and she managed to crawl under a table and out of sight before the mosp could locate the source. The enraged mosp buzzed around with slightly lowered accuracy, wanting to retaliate but not able to see the source. The only one in the open still was Lizzie, so it turned its good eye back onto her.Lizzie Accuracy Roll: 10 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 19
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 9 vs Lizzie Evasion Roll: 22
Mildred Accuracy Roll: 26 (natural 20) vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 8Ninth mospIt seemed that @Ethen Emrys was determined to cover the mosp in icing. He found some nice lemony cupcakes and picked up a mountain of them, aiming to chuck the lot at the mosp. Burdened by the number of them, though, his aim was off and the mosp dodged the sugary treats. Atlas' spell cast was on target, hitting the mosp and very briefly robbing it of its sense of direction. However, the levitation charm is only meant for non-living things and the mosp easily broke free of the spell. Thinking it had been attacked by the girl's spell, it would dive for her. @Atlas Reid was able to nimbly dodge out of the way, though. The mosp did a roundabout, determined to make contact with a target in the next round.Ethen Wisdom Roll: 20 8 (disadvantage to find a giant cake at a ball with only finger food)
FAIL - grabbed a ton of cupcakes instead
Ethen Accuracy Roll: 14 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 20
Atlas Accuracy Roll: 20 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 8
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 5 vs Atlas Evasion Roll: 24Tenth mosp@Aaron Jones was once again disappointed when he swung the music stand and met nothing in the air. This red mosp flew right by him and towards @@Lydia Cooper, who (once again) dodged out of the way of its stingers. It seemed the blue-haired beauty was determined to not be a victim today.Aaron Accuracy Roll: 15 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 20
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 17 vs Lydia Evasion Roll: 19Eleventh mosp@Katrina Walker aimed her wand at the mosp and successfully cast fumos, but the spell didn't seem to work the way she thought it did. Smoke began to pour from the tip of her wand, and it was beginning to cover the ground of the pitch. The smoke wouldn't stop until it enveloped the entire pitch, but it was slow going and only began to cover herself and her friends for now. @River Dewlight, in an attempt to distract the mosp from attacking Katrina again, produced some flowers and threw them in front of the creature. They arced right in front of the red mosp, and its proboscis flailed. Something about these flowers was particularly attractive. The mosp flew after them, landing on the ground where the flowers were.Katrina Wisdom Roll: 24 (to cast fumos) | SUCCESS - 3 rounds
River Strength Roll: 14 (to throw flowers)
Is the mosp distracted? 1 - YESTwelfth mospThis bulbous red mosp hovered over the dance floor, watching as a fragrant-haired girl aimed a jet of fire at its defenseless ally. Enraged by this action, it would target the blonde with both stingers outstretched. Willow Anderson would surely be surprised when two stingers entered her leg from behind, depositing enough venom to really burn. As the mosp retreated back into the air, it would leave a gaping wound with blood and a whopping 155 damage. Perhaps this is what she deserved for stealing the dice roller's date.Mosp Accuracy Roll: 12 vs Willow Evasion Roll: 8Thirteenth mospThis mosp was agitated, perhaps because the boy it had attacked (@Dale Kurt) was just sitting there (didn't post), or perhaps because it had not located the source of the smell yet. Was it really coming from the boy? The mosp needed to double check and it went in for another strike. At the last moment, Dale seemed to rouse from his stupor and dodge out of the way, leaving his seat entirely. The mosp's stingers collided with the chair Dale had been sitting in. It could've been a deadly strike if the second year hadn't moved.Mosp Accuracy Roll: 13 vs Dale Evasion Roll: 18Fourteenth mospIt seemed that @Hanako Tone was quite upset that his friends had come to his rescue. He made a big scene of rejecting their help and then waving his wand in the direction of the red mosp that had almost attacked him. Unfortunately for him, it seemed his words had failed him after the tantrum, and no spell was cast.
@Adam Harringtom however, was locked in a duel with the beast. He wanted the first years to get to safety, not join him in his fight! He cast a spell at the beast and successfully cut its eye, rendering the organ useless and the beast's accuracy reduced. Enraged and damaged by 90, the mosp still managed to successfully crash into Adam again, but the third year was incredibly lucky. Once again, another cut in his pants and another scratch on his leg, but no lingering effects from the 14 damage.Hanako Tone spell cast auto-failed (spell not in trunk & no ency update request to prove homework completion)
Adam Accuracy Roll: 26 vs Mosp Evasion Roll: 13
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 16 vs Adam Evasion Roll: 10Fifteenth mosp PhilipeThis mosp was incredibly attracted to the blue-haired girl (Lydia Cooper) and her fragrant smell, so it continued to attack in an effort to get what it wanted. It launched itself at the first year girl, but Lydia was on guard a freaking ninja and dodged her fourth attack of the night. Could anything touch her?Mosp Accuracy Roll: 16 vs Lydia Evasion Roll: 21Sixteenth mospPhilipe was straight vibing still in the air by @Evelynn Decipio and @Charlie Woodward. The mosp was not in a hurry to attack or show any sign of agression, seeming merely curious about the two humans flying on a broom in the air. When the boy spoke, encouraging it to come closer, it did so.
Charlie successfully captured the lazy beast in his shirt, but the unfamiliar sensation of being surrounded on all sides promptly made Philipe freak out. His stingers cut through the shirt in an attempt to sting Charlie, but the wizard had a good enough hold on the bundle that he prevented it from piercing. Now Charlie held the bundled Philipe, who was clearly unhappy with the current predicament but was unable to escape (yet).
Charlie Accuracy Roll: 26 vs Philipe Evasion Roll: 20
Does Philipe become hostile/scared (50+)? YES (52)
Philipe Accuracy Roll: 8 vs Charlie Evasion Roll: 24Twenty-first mospThis mosp had landed on the ground by @Vincent d'Arque chasing after a boutonierre. Vincent, noticing its fascination with the bunch of flowers, would remove his own and toss it a little ways away so he could make his escape. The mosp took the bait and stayed on the ground, probing the boutonierres with its proboscis.Twenty-third mospThis purple mosp, seeing the fire that had sprouted nearby (caused by Thomas Lestrange) would go back up into the air and look for a new table of bouquets to bother. It would find itself on top of the table that @Percival Gray was hiding behind. It would take notice of the boy, but would keep its attention on the flowers on the table, its proboscis touching the petals of one. This new arrival to the scene was huge and red and looking for trouble. It would be drawn to a group over by the stands as they fought over a bag. There was something fragrant down below (Rafael D'Spacito) and it was determined to find out what. It would make itself known to the group as it approached, buzzing loudly and appearing in the renewed light of the ball.
The Call for Help!
Professors are welcome to post towards the end of this round (starting Friday, 5/29).There were fireworks setup by the organizers of the ball (specifically Atlas Reid, aided by her friend Ethen Emrys), hidden behind the stage. They were meant to be a spectacular sight to end the night as students scurried back home to their dormitories. However, as a precaution, a few specially-marked fireworks had been loaded with Periculum. These are the fireworks that @Lydia Cooper used her action to light now. Using the matches beside them, she successfully lit the ends of the signal flares and sent two massive Periculum flares into the air. They were bigger than students were normally capable of on their own (several of the charms were packed into each firework) and they were loud. A whistle as they launched into the air, and a boom as they exploded at the height of their arc.
The following would have drawn you out:
- The Periculum and Verdimillious from a couple rounds ago
- Piérre Marchonné arriving at the castle and shouting for help last round
- Several students making their way to the ball dressed up (at least 5 students did this)
- The massive periculum flares that just went off

Secret Blossom Ball
Interacting- No One
Mentioning- @Anastasia Beckett, the assorted chaos
“Damn it,” Amara muttered as the goblets landed on her bare feet. Lord almighty, first she could not get Ana extinguished, and then she could not even throw a cup correctly at a girl’s face. This is not even the oddest or most dangerous thing happening tonight. Amara realizes that, who even cares anymore, this whole ball is chaos and well, it is funny. She grabs her shoes and skips over to the middle of the Quidditch Pitch.
As people are burning, mosps are attacking, fights are happening and bags are being stolen, Amara dances. While there is no music, the beat of everyone's heavy heartbeats is more than enough. At this point, detention is inevitable, assuming professors ever show up, so what is the point of trying to run? Feeling drunk on the ecstasy of chaos, Amara sways her hips and a laugh escapes her; who knew Hogwarts would be this crazy. She does a pirouette type spin and closes her eyes. While she does not enjoy seeing others in pain, Amara knows that each mess was caused by the students and there impulsive stupidity. So maybe it is cruel to find humor in this, but Amara is good at finding humor in the oddest of times.
As the chaos continues and more people get hurt, Amara shoves the sounds of fear and violence happening around her and lets herself have fun for the first time tonight. I mean, yeah she should try to help people but they ruined the ball for everyone else and no one will continue to ruin Amara’s fun. She came here to have a good time and a good time she shall have.

Interacting w/: @Anastasia Beckett
Mentions: @Amara Dragamior
May didn't know what to do. She was looking at Anastasia Beckett, wide eyed as the Gryffindor lioness was on fire. Literally.
She wanted to cast Extinguo, but didn't know the spell. Why didn't she just look at the Herbology book and study it? But it was no time to worry. Not knowing what she was doing, she picked a glass of water, and threw it to Ana. She didn't know the Gryffindor, but she was sure she had to save her. She needed to save her somehow. "W-what can I do?" May muttered to herself. What should she do? Anyhow, she kept picking up glasses of water, and once, the jar that was near her. The fire was so big, that she didn't know if it would work.
"What should I do?!" she was now having a panick attack. Sobs came out of her, as thought she had just heard bad news. Well, they were in bad news. She was too young to experience this! Why did she go to that stupid Blossom Ball anyways? She heard a few people in a quarrel, or maybe even...tackling each other. How could they? They were in the middle of a vampire most attack!
"N-no" she looked at Anastasia again, not knowing what to do.
She saw a girl dancing and laughing. She wanted to hit her in the face. Who did she think she was? Whatever, she was crazy.

Secret Blossom Ball
Interacting with @Flash Holmwood @Vladimir Athanatos @Opeila Seilun @Selim Faust
The impact never came.
Willow was waiting. But at the last second, Flash moved in front of her and took the hit for her. Followed by a square kick by Opeila. She thought they were friends, what the hell was she doing? She glared at all of them. Were they seriously fighting? On second glance, Selim was still ruffling through the bag and suddenly her rage overfilled her tiny 129cm body. "Enough! All of you! This is not the priority. I don't know what's going on. But are you fucking kidding me?" For being small her voice was loud and dripping with anger, even over all the buzzing. She gestured wildly at the mosp pulling itself out of the floor despite looking well roasted, and the other one gearing up for an attack. She didn't have much time. "Get your shit together and stop focusing on each other. We need to get everyone out of here, or kill these stupid bu-" Ah, what a great leader she could've been if it weren't for the mosp being as pissed off as she was.
Searing pain shot through her right leg, making her collapse to the ground. Two giant stingers had entered the back of her leg and it suddenly felt like it was on fire. Which she wouldn't doubt with how many fires were going on. Luckily for once, this Hufflepuff didn't have to deal with putting out the fire, she was causing it. Over and over again as much as it took to get this mosp to be dead. Tears were already streaming down her face from the pain. She moved to be sitting and facing the two mosps that now seemed to have their targets locked on her. It's not like she was the only one dealing out damage, oh wait. She was. Because the rest of the people had too big of egos to chill out and figure out what the real problem was.
Her hands instinctively moved to the wound causing another yelp of pain from her. She didn't know if they were venomous, or really anything about them. There had to be ribbons, something. Thank the God and Goddess that her family taught her survival skills. Then her eyes settled on Flash, who looked in some rough shape but there was no time to check on him. He had a bowtie, and she knew he would never wear a clip on one he's too fancy for that. She barked an order out at him. "Flash, give me your bowtie now."
As much as it hurt, she continued to apply pressure to the wound, blood covering her hands reminding her of how she was covered in Jack's blood in the basement of the Hufflepuff Common Room, a small shudder passed through her at the memory. As soon as he had handed her the bowtie permission to godmod Flash given she tied it at the top of her leg tightly to stop as much blood flow as she could. Her head was already feeling dizzy from the blood loss, or maybe it was just at the pure sight of how much blood was exiting her body.
With blood covered hands she fumbled for her wand and tried to take out the mosp that she had already burned twice. "Just die already! Incendio!" Her voice was cracking, the pain of her leg was searing and her head was getting foggy. She didn't want to fight alone anymore. She was hoping the other three would finally focus on the mosps and get rid of them so she wouldn't die on the damned Quidditch Pitch.
Mortality was a funny thing, something she had never considered until this moment. She had been kicked, stung, and now had two giant ugly bees gunning her down. If she got one out before the other attacked and took her out she could be content. She wondered briefly what the school would tell her parents if she died like this. 'Sorry, she went to an illegal party and then giant bugs killed her.' A new vigor lit up inside her, this would not be the end of her. She still had so much to do, so much to learn. Especially about her best friend that had just taken a kick to the face for her.
This wasn't the end, it couldn't be the end. Willow refused even the possibility of it happening.

Secret Blossom Ball

How brazen of them. Assailing him, taking what is his and then acting as if he was the scoundrel. The girl was weak, the one that tried to steal his bag. She was not much of a fighter and her defender, some boy (Flash) who forgone his own defense to play meat shield. Apparently he cared about her deeply, the small part of suffering a consequence for her thievery the furthest thing from the first-year's mind. Truly Vladimir was a benevolent man, there was a time where one would lose a hand for that very act. The entire encounter proved to be fascinating, albeit sloppy. There were too many eyes on him. Too many people involved. Secrets had a way of being uncovered with the addition of each bearer. However despite the obvious, they missed something big. He already knew that they were going to strike, in fact he knew about the ball before the secret invites even went out. How did he do that and miss something like this?Mention: @Willow Anderson, @Selim Faust, @Opeila Seilun, @Percival Rainwood, @Selim Faust
His date, the duplicitous wench tried to undermine his attack. Took her long enough, the token effort at the very least to show Willow that she was not abandoned. Apparently there was an embrace in-between his attacks, how he had hit only one and not both for the foolhardy free act was beyond him. He was struck first by Vladimir and then again by his date. Oops -- she should have been more careful, she would have fun explaining that one. "Thanks hun," he smiled but did not look back. Let her deny it. Let them question it.
Selim Faust would steal a few baubles, a little cloth doll with blonde hair and a little purple dress. He would also pocket a sealed jar. Vladimir needed to make a decision after he pummeled the cheap barrier erected in front of Willow. Pursue the thief or break the duo before him. Their leader was willing to abandon them both, neither of them stood a chance against the third year. It was almost unsporting. Almost.
"I will leave them" Willow and Flash, both on their last bit of endurance "to you." He would run past, over or through if either of them got in his way. No need to defeat what would be quelled with a single spread spell.
"You must be a campfire. Because you're super hot and I want s'more."
A degenerate youth would declare. While it was likely that several future paramours were overcome with lust for him, who could blame them. the Ravenclaw had some semblance of a standard. "A date a later time perhaps," unfussed and unconcerned he seemed to be a bit of an actor as he called after Selim. "Think you're getting away!" His voice rattled with what sounded like rage. He was going to break the boy in a very linear series of actions. Grab the boy by the neck, squeeze hard and then a knee to the small of his back, then push down hard until the ground prevents him from pushing further. With the strength and precision afforded to him by martial training, they had yet to see the strange magic he perhaps knew.
None of them had earned that honor as of yet.
Action: Vladimir attempts to force Selim to the ground with a series of blows to the back and base of the neck.

More phials, more dolls.
Selim grabbed the two dolls he caught sight of and pocketed them securely. His curiosity was peaked... he might keep one to study for himself instead of giving them all to Lestrange, after he studied the doll he kept further, he'd simply return it to its owner.
He was distracted from attempting to take more when he heard Vladimir speak once more, looking up sharply, tense.
"Ah, he finally reacted to what I'm doing."
The older boy's attention had quickly snapped to his thievery, and his yell of rage was well enough warning for Selim to prepare for an attack.
His lack of sleep, though would probably hinder him in this fight.
Vladimir approached, and Selim took an educated guess and decided that the boy was probably going to attack. In response, Selim hastily drew one of his daggers in preparation.
___[If the attack hits and Selim isn't rendered unconscious immidiatly-]
He felt pain flair from the points of contact where the third year struck him, but ignored it, having experienced far worse from fully grown adults, much less a 15/16-year-old boy. His tolerance hac long since risen past that of a normal 11-year-old in response to his harsher childhood.
In a gamble on his own weaker strength, Selim tried to twist out of the older boy's grip, and (If accomplished) then maneuvered to position himself slightly to the side and behind the older boy. Then jabbed his blade down, point-first, on the back of Vladimir's knee, around where the very important posterior cruciate ligament lie, along with other structures that helped you're knee and leg stay stable. If the attack hit, this third-year would have quite some trouble walking.
If this succeeded, Selim would stand up and take a few steps back, slipping into a combat-ready position with a wince of pain.
[If this failed, he would stay still instead of struggling, trapped against the ground. No point in wasting strength, best to wait until the older boy released him or dropped his guard.
Though he may be unconscious by then, that boy could hit hard.
He'd breathed evenly, fighting against the slight panic rising up in his chest.]
[Afterwards- if Selim isn't unconscious][If the attack misses.]
Selim stood with narrowed eyes after trying to evade the older boy's blows. His mind became cold, clinical, precise, and he reviewed what he knew about human anatomy.
Then, he struck, jerking forward and trying to dig his dagger deep into the third-year's shoulder, vaguely around where the subclavian artery lies under layers of muscle and skin. His eyes held a hint of bloodlust, years of his training had brought him to his first fight, now spiking him with adrenaline.
He had to subdue the target. Going from this boy's rage, he wasn't getting off the hook until either he rested unconscious on the ground, or Vladimir did.
Whether or not his attack hit, Selim would take a good number of steps back in relatively swift succession. This fight wasn't going to be pleasant, he only hoped that he wouldn't end up injured enough to have to go to the hospital wing... he'd rather not his scars be revealed to a professor or nurse. Questions would be asked, questions he couldn't answer.
Afterward, Selim spoke, tone cold, level. "I apologize for my actions, senpai-" he paused, frowning as he slipped back into Japanese custom (If he was still trapped to the ground his words would be muffled, but still polite). Most likely a result of the high tension of the situation, he instinctually wanted to be respectful to the older boy... it was pounded into him when he took etiquette lessons.
Shaking off his thoughts, Selim continued heedlessly, "I do hope you don't take this personally, I am merely trying to complete a mission that was assigned to me, nothing more."
He doubted his words would make a difference, but he wanted to clean up any misconceptions of his intentions. He honestly didn't know whether this third-year deserved to be subjected to all this scrutiny, perhaps he was trying to harm his peers, perhaps he was trying to save them.
A question Selim would ask the boy if he got the chance.
But the morality of his opponent didn't matter to Selim, he was preventing his mission completion, so he would have to fight. He doubted his upperclassmen would step down from his attack.
A pity, Selim wanted to examine the other two dolls he grabbed from the bag. If this boy beat him, he'd surely take them back. That would be disappointing, not to mention he would fail his mission.
That idea brought a stab of fear into his chest, not because he was afraid of Lestrange being disappointed though, no, he was just too used to severe punishment from his father if he ever failed to meet with his expectations...
Despite his father not even being anywhere near Hogwarts he was still afraid of him...
He shook his thoughts off, no, he couldn't be distracted by echos of terror, he had to focus on the immediate consequences if he failed to defend himself against this third year, he had to keep his scars out of view from any adults.
If he failed the nurses would know.
If the nurses know the professors would know.
The professors couldn't know

Katrina's mind was a swirl of chaos, not dissimilar to her surroundings. Through her agony-stricken mind she could hear all sorts of calls and cries. Her ear was the only loud thing, it seemed as if everything else was muted around her. Perhaps her ear was broken, or an eardrum or something. Perhaps it was just the adrenaline that was twisting things out of proportion.
As swirls and tendrils of smoke seeped from the second-year's wand, a sound- almost a giggle- shook Katrina. She had actually cast a successful spell. However, as the blob of smoke grew larger and larger, Katrina realized that, unlike it's normal size, it wasn't going to stop at a few meter radius. The air got caught in her throat and she began coughing badly.
Katrina stumbled back to the group avoiding any attempts to grab her, mind almost stable enough that she wanted to run away. Loud, bright explosions brought Katrina's eyes up to the large emergency flares that had gone off. Finally, someone was smart enough to call the teachers, so the teachers could take care of injured students.
Injured students. The whole reason Katrina was there. Katrina hadn't come to the dance to twirl and play around, she came to protect the defenseless. Paying no attention to the group that had kept her somewhat in line, the lioness began running toward the licks of fire. She was going to help people, that was the reason she was here. Katrina was so full of adrenaline that her mind was running in delusional circles.
When she reached the horrible sight, she found two people writhing on the ground, coated in flames. @Anastasia Beckett @Victor Moore Katrina saw the flames flicker out as a extinguishing spell was cast, and then come back roaring in full force. One of the flaming people went for a cluster of flaming flowers in a vase in the muddy ground and poured several goblets on it. That was it. Katrina spotted some goblets on a table not too far away. If it worked, this wouldn't hurt.
There was no time for rational thinking. Katrina took a deep breath and grabbed the flaming flowers from the vase and dunked them in the goblets, cramming the licks of fire in the cooling liquid. She reason she had come was to help the defenseless, hopefully she wouldn't be so defenseless that she couldn't help others. If these flowers puttered out, then they would be able to put out the people on fire. So what if there would be three instead of two?

Santario was lost in the cacophony of visions that danced behind her eyes and voices that ricochet through her mind like marbles being shot at high speed. It all drowned out the din of the screams, the smell of her fellow students on fire. Sometimes, there were worse things than what was happening around you, and while you had acquaintances who sometimes made it feel like an icy hand was gripping your heart, it just couldn’t compare to some of the things your mind could remember.
It had nothing to do with the boy next to her, who was obviously trying to figure out how he could help. He had caught her at a bad time; she still couldn’t overcome this kind of fear. Not yet, not after only harboring it for four months. She worked at it every day, but it would take much longer before things like this didn’t affect her in at least some way, shape, or form.
A plate flew past them at Mosp #6 and crashed into it. This was enough to pull her out of her own head, looking in the direction of where the plate came from seeing the culprit a boy she didn’t know (Percival Gray). A few people had already successfully snuck past that mosp, and it paid them no mind. The actions of this boy, however, jeopardized that. “It was leaving people alone and letting them escape you Gobshite*!” The fact that she was a split of Irish and French was usually not notable; her French side was far more common unless angered.
The boy’s action was going to make the situation worse for everyone who wanted to get out there. So she turned on the mosp and pointed her wand at it. It was going to attack people now, and the only thing to do was to continue the assault and hopefully knock it unconscious so that people could escape if they so choose to. “Sorry… Flipendo!” She cast on the mosp wondering how many of them it would really take to take it down.

In one fell swoop, the boy lunged forward and held on tightly to the massive bug which was now in his arms, using all his strength to stay on the broom, holding the poor thing as it panicked, letting out an exclaimation of joy and utter surprise as he was able to hold it from stinging him, completely secured in his arms.
Miss Decipio was causing quite the scare, part of her protesting in shrieks and the other part of her, as far as Charlie could guess, refused to look. He supposed he'd just realised he was, in fact, shirtless- and his face went flushed as he swaddled the bug. "I-I didn't realise my undershirt came up with the sweater-!" he quickly exclaimed, turning to look at her while still keeping an iron grip on Eve.
Then, as the lights began to appear once more, illuminating further the chaos which was occuring, red sparks and cries for help sounded, and Charlie knew what was coming next. That strange quidditch boy had landed, he gathered by the sounds in the distance, in the castle. Teachers would be there any moment should the boy's plan succeed- and the flares and cnadles certainly didnt help. He grit his teeth, sighinh. "Let's get out of here- before we get caught up in the aftermath of this."
No matter her quells for him to stop, especially with his plan to capture the fat, slow bug he'd suddenly found a fondess for, he ignored them wholeheartedly, still holding the bug close as if to calm him, he placed pressure in his thighs, and buckled over to grasp the broomshaft as if he were a professional broom racer, the mosp under him securely tucked against his chest. "Here we gO-" He managed to start, before attempting to break off towards the castle, and away from the chaos.Actions - Holding and coddling Mosp #15 (Philipe), coddling him between his body, arm and broomshaft (movement), Preparing/Attempting to take off from the ball on Silver Arrow with Philipe and @Evelynn Decipio (Action)Stats (+3 with Silver Arrow) Stamina 9 (12), Evasion 5 (8), Strength 3 (6), Wisdom 7 (10), Arcane 9 (12), Accuracy 7 (10)

As he awaited for the girl to reply, or at least a sign she had heard or even noticed him in the first place, he kept one eye on the creature he had – rather easily – distracted with his boutonniere. It seemed satisfied with the little bouquet still, but Vincent wasn’t going to take any chances having seen what they were capable of. It sheer size was terrifying at best, and the speed at which he had seen it move and turn definitely made it a force to reckon with at all times. Though being over ten feet away from it and despite the fact it didn’t seem to take any interest in anything else but the flowers, Vincent remained on guard, ready to swoop it from the sky with his makeshift club if it decided to attack after all. Reassured for now, he looked back at the girl who had her wand ready for action. She still hadn’t given any sign of having acknowledged his presence. She was clearly preoccupied, something that seemed to be some sort of common state of mind tonight, and to Vincent’s judgement not just with the imminent danger.
She seemed worried, no, terrified even. Not really a shocker considering the current situation she, and many others for that matter, were in, but Vincent couldn’t get rid of the idea there was more to this than what was happening here. Not that it had any consequences, this was not the place, nor the time to get into this and even if it was, it was not up to him to inquire in any way. There were more pressing matters to deal with, like making their escape, preferably unscathed. Vincent weighed various options to get this going in his mind, but they all were either not realistic enough, not possible or downright stupid, if not dangerous. Still, there had to be a way to leave this place without catching yourself on fire or get stung by one of those disgusting flying creatures. Perhaps they just had to gamble on the least dangerous, most realistic option and go from there. Before Vincent could take action, though, he noticed a brief movement in the corner of his eye, from about the direction where the purple bee should be and as he jerked his head towards it, table leg raised to strike when needed, he heard a familiar voice answering the question he had asked the girl.
“Well we could leave and get somewhere safe?”
Vincent felt a surge if relief as he recognized the voice as that of a certain Slytherin boy who had approached silently and practically unnoticed. He threw another quick glance at the ugly purple creature that still hadn’t moved from its spot and still hadn’t taken interest in its surroundings as he turned to the source of the voice. "Wyatt!" he excitedly whispered, making sure not to disturb or attract any of the insects, most of which were still hovering around looking for - prey? "So good to see you're alright. I tried to get back to find you, but my new friend here," he cautiously gestured towards the purple creature that was still fully absorbed in the lure Vincent threw at it, "was having none of it. I have no clue what they are, but they seem to pose a serious threat. If they're up to it that is. They don’t seem too motivated, though, nor determined to make any victims here, at least not as long – it seems – as we offer them something better and more interesting. They seem to have a huge weakness. Flowers. Or perhaps only the scent of flowers. Either way, they seem to prefer them over us. At least the purple ones. There must be some way to take advantage of that knowledge."
As Vincent finished his sentence he noticed something flying past and hitting one of the creatures not too far away from where they were standing. It had been sitting there relatively peaceful not bothering anyone who snuck past it. Perhaps it hadn’t even noticed them in the first place as it sat there in the entryway. The creature, though clearly hit by what turned out to be a thrown pate, didn’t seem to be affected, let alone disabled by it. It did get more agitated though and seems to prepare itself for attack. “Great, as if it wasn’t hazardous enough around here.” Vincent muttered under his breath. The girl next to him had apparently seen who had thrown the plate throwing him a curse that would make a pirate blush. Vincent admiringly stared at her in amazement, he had definitely not seen that coming. Despite the grave situation they were in, he couldn’t stop a huge smile from disappearing on his face. Only brief though, as he quickly focused back on their escape.
The girl pointed her wand at the creature casting a Flipendo its way, along with an apology. Again Vincent stared amazed at her, this girl had some unexpected sides to her. And right that second he decided to stick with her trying to protect her while she attacked the creature that had been hit by the carelessly thrown plate. They needed to get out of here alive and their best chances would be sticking together and thus protecting eachother. Strength in numbers it would be. He held his makeshift club ready for whatever flew his way as he addressed her one more time, hoping she would hear him this time “Don’t worry, while you cast Flipendo all you need to, I’ll have your back and I’m sure Wyatt has as well.” He quickly turned to Wyatt. “Grab something that feels comfortable in your hand and is capable of dealing as much damage as possible. You’re going to need it I’m afraid.”
