They won't be starting today, but an announcement will be made when they do start. They will, hopefully, start around 17th May. However, this will be announced when it's confirmed, as it might be a bit later!

I was wondering whether it is possible to opt out from being in the planning committee of summer/Ball if in top 6?
I was thinking of doing homework before I can't get points for them anymore and boost my house to get the frogs but I don't know about the planning committee yet.

So, before going ahead I wanted to ask, otherwise I will just try to stay below the top 6 and just support the house until that threshold

Yes, it is possible to opt out of the Planning Committee, you may owl your Head of House/Headmaster or Headmistress letting them know that you would not like to participate in the Summer planning committee
