What? Actually, what? Nico was in shock, frozen up. Her hands curled up in tiny fists. What was up with these people? The prefect wasn't even surprised when Opeila once again decided to nearly bite her nose off. But why? All the girl wanted was to assist these students. Assist her peers. Why weren't they allowing her? Atleast not all of them.
In this room, she felt alone. What was supposed to be an attempt at bringing everyone to safety so no one would get hurt, turned into them snapping at her for sticking her nose in things which apparantly were none of her business. A strange sensation filled Nico. It was cold and made her heart beat faster. Her eyes cold and collected even though all she wanted to do was cry out and scream, desperately. They didn't understand. How could they...?
Opeila was the worst of them. Even though Nico held back in the best way she could at that point, still she called her out for having barely any control. It might've been easier to call her a monster, right? That's what they all probably thought. Why on earth would they give someone as her this job? She has no willpower, why would they need to listen to her if they can just walk all over her. It exhausted her that her genuine attempts at aiding her peers was being overlooked and seen as being bossy and nosy. They were idiots... Mindless fools who just did what they wanted without thinking about the consequences...
One thing Nico did know, was that she tried her best. She was civil yet stern. If that scared them that easily, than that's their problem. Glaring at the back of Opeilas head, small red tears laying in the corners of her eyes, if she didn't have any control as the incompetent child mentioned, Opeila might've had a hell of a time. Nico's claws would've been around her neck, scratching her face open,... Screaming in her face that she was wrong. That she didn't listen or only saw what she wanted to see. Only then would she have a reason to mention she had no control. That girl better watched her back in the years to come.
As Victor and Jack made their way out, the redhead could sense that even Victor wasn't so sure about Nico's ability to help them or reassure them to be safe. Did they really all think she was a threat on two legs? Looking at her feet, she pressed her hands on her face, holding back the tears that wanted to flow down her dolllike cheeks. Not here. Not now... Teary eyed, frustrated and alone the dhampir walked out a minute later after they left. Off to find a place to sob into her sleeves, to muffle away her desperate wails for reassurance.
