Wizards Batting Badgers & Snakes Finished

ROUND FIVE
@Santario Martin stayed true to the task at hand. Despite her friend being in a fight with someone, she remained focused on what really mattered here: hitting the ball. She swung her bat wildly as the ball came towards her, shooting it straight down the pitch. It landed around eleven metres away from the starting point as it lacked a little bit of power behind the shot, however it did earn her twenty two points for her house. Her shot was so awesome though, it whizzed right past Browne’s head - narrowly missing him.

@Bridget Collins was irritated by the sight of her housemates fighting. Perhaps she had reason to be. She wanted to win and them fighting was not helping matters. But Bridget herself knew what she had to do. She continued to play the game, despite it. It might have been the lack of focus or the fact that she was annoyed but Bridget's shot was not as strong as her last attempt. It was exactly half that, in fact. She scored twenty points for her house, with the ball landing ten metres away.

@Annie Morgan was on point today. Her shots had been rather good the entire time and this attempt was no different. Annie successfully whacked the ball another. The ball whooshed in the air from the powerful and accurate hit, flew right past Jensen’s face - causing her hair to flick up a little from the wind - and landed sixteen metres away from the start. Annie earned the badgers another thirty two points! She was nothing if not hardworking.

@Teiki Laurent now had a MentorPuff - or a HuffleMentor. Either way, she perked up with hope and geared herself to taking the Slytherins down. The young girl grabbed her bat, encouraged her teammate and then swung like her life depended on it. And it worked. The ball flew up in the air, travelling down the pitch for fourteen metres. Teiki earned the Hufflepuffs another twenty eight points on the scoreboard!

@May Moonstar was annoyed beyond reasoning. The Slytherins had gained a small advantage in the previous round, finally catching up with the badgers - and that annoyed her. She was competitive and she knew they were her rivals. May grabbed her bat, ready to take the snakes down. They were not going to win. That was the decision she made. Swinging in the air, May aimed to try and score for her team. Sadly, she missed the ball.

@Thora Larkston had made up her mind. She did not want to lose to Hufflepuffs again. Thora encouraged her teammates before taking another shot herself. She managed to successfully whack the ball another fourteen metres - which gave her twenty eight points for the scoreboard.

@Aaron Jones rushed in. He was late but it was much better to be late than never show up, right? He quickly picked up how to play the game, grabbing a bat and positioning himself at the batter’s line, ready. He watched as Jensen threw a ball at him, gripped his bat and swung. Aaron might have been the newest addition to the field but he wasted no time in figuring out exactly how to play the game. He whacked the ball eighteen metres - successfully racking up another thirty six points for his team, which was actually the highest score this round. Clearly, better late than never was true.

@Erin Ryan did what Erin Ryan does best. She got into a fight. Of course she did. Despite the fact that her actions were now visible for all to see, she continued said fight with no care for the consequences. What was another detention when you were pretty much already sentenced to serving detention for the remainder of your school life and hadn't even crossed the halfway point yet? She leaped at Erik, attempting to tackle him down. She was fast and incredibly accurate. His instincts might have kicked in, encouraging him to dodge her but she was on point. The female jumped him, tackling him down to the ground.

Hjørdis almost faceplanted her face into her hand as she witnessed Miss Ryan, yet again, causing issues. It came as absolutely no surprise to her but alas, she did not expect the young Slytherin to be so bold. In front of two Heads of Houses, nonetheless. Not just one - but two. The girl was tackling one of her own housemates. Sadly, given that they were both of her house, Hjørdis figured she probably ought to be the one to deal with the situation, Excuse me, She said to Caradoc, as she handed over the parchment that was tallying up the score, giving him the stage to announce the results. Miss Ryan,She started as she made her way over to the fighting duo, Do you find Mister Tharaldson that attractive that you could not resist jumping him?She was obviously finding this whole thing rather tedious, Would you mind getting off him now, if you’re done with this childish behaviour?

The Slytherin Head of House had absolutely no idea if Erik had done something to have instigated the fight. Perhaps he did. But at this point in time, tackling someone was unnecessary and quite simply put, much too childish for her liking. They were - however - children. It was to be expected. There were far better ways to deal with things, however. Erin really ought to know that by now. She had gotten into many fights over the years - Hjørdis had to wonder what she actually got out of them other than more detentions. Is there a reason for this…?She asked, deciding not to presume there was one. This was Erin, after all. She might have hit someone just because she felt like it and honestly, Hjørdis would not be surprised in the slightest. But giving her the benefit of doubt was the right thing to do. Erik, after all, could have instigated the whole situation.

Caradoc took a brief moment staring at the entire debacle surrounding Nora and her students. They certainly were an odd bunch. He looked down at the piece of paper as a sigh escaped his breath while his eyebrows rose up. Erin did seem to at least be a constant factor. Some things never change. Counting down the list, the Head of Hufflepuff wrote down everyone’s scores and circled the final points to point them out if Nora wished to check them out later.

Immediately a grin (that could be considered too wide) would appear on his face. Hands resting in his hips, he waved everyone to come over to his position. “Students! Today has been fun and..." he looked behind him to look for Erik and Erin. “...interesting.” His attention turned back to the main group. “You’ve given it your everything. I am very proud of each and everyone of you.” He offered the group a nod as to reassure they all had performed well today. “However… I regret to inform you that the winner of today’s game is…” He looked down at his paper where already a small crown was scribbled next to the house’s name. “HUFFLEPUFF! YES! YES, YOU ALL DID IT. HAHAA!” The professor would almost jumps in excitement as both his fist rose up to the air in victory. Until he remembered Nora was still around and he swiftly crossed his hands behind his back. “Ehem, I mean… Well played everyone. Congratulations Hufflepuff. Slytherin, I thank you for a well-fought game." He reached out a hand to the nearest snake and shook their hand.

Hjørdis blinked as she witnessed the old man jumping up and down out of excitement and almost faceplanted once more. Talk about rubbing it in the student’s faces… Some people were sore losers but Caradoc Browne? Oh no no, he was a sore winner. It was slightly mortifying how pleased he seemed to be, at the moment. She quirked an eyebrow that said ‘Really Caradoc?’ towards him before turning back to Erin and Erik. At least… Most of the students were worthy of being proud of. This mess, however, might not fall within those lines.
Hufflepuff: 450 vs. Slytherin: 427.4
Hufflepuff Wins! Congratulations!

I dunno if I can post a last time but here we go

Annie watched the two Slytherin students ahead of her in line take their bats and swing, both hitting the ball some good distance away. She gulped and swung, feeling the deafing crack as the ball hit the middle of the bat and soared even farther than the first two attempts. Annie couldn't hold back her grin as she was shocked by how well she had down at batting the entire game. The small thought lingered in her brain Should I have become a beater instead? Who knows?

The Hufflepuff saw the last player take their swing and a fight between two Slytherins break out. She rolled her eyes and held back a snort typical.. Annie waited feeling the vibration of nerves and excitement combine together as her head of house read off some words before announcing the winner to be.. HUFFLEPUFF! Annie froze. This was the one time in her life she didn't know how to feel.

The girl quickly recovered and screamed into the sky. "AHHH WE DID IT OH MY GOSHHHHH!" Yup she had lost it.. Annoe then turned around and barreled into her team, Teiki and May had stuck with her through it and Aaron, he showed up last minute and killed it! "Look who finally decided to show up, shoulda come sooner but you totally rocked out there, all of you guys did!" She was grinning from ear to ear. Annie wanted to hug everyone, but figured the Slytherins weren't buggy people so she made her way over to Browne and hugged him and the rest of the group. "Wahhh! I'm not crying it's just freezing, brr let's get inside!"

With the close game concluded, the little Hufflepuff ran all the way across the field, a wide smile on her face, and back into the giant castle. The End. Just Kidding ^^

They lost, not that she cared. Win or loose be it in Batting or Quidditch or Dueling was all the same to her. The smoke would clear and the student participants would see Erin straddling poor Erik, the innocent pure-blood Slytherin. Yeah, right. He started it. She finished it. He was probably going to claim that he just standing there minding his own business when she randomly attacked and kicked his pale little whatever year he was ass. She did not care. She lived in detention. She got her mail delivered there.

Well, either he started it or she just wanted to be on top of the blonde...

If it was the later, there should be some mouth to mouth resuscitation. There was none. She was trying to pummel the dork when the smoke cleared. There was no smooches, sorry Olphie. There was no inappropriate grinding, also sorry Olphie. Erin had a hotter boyfriend, Erik probably had a waifu pillow in dire need of laundering. She was attempting to feed him a handful of grass when Professor Jensen finally intervened.

“Miss Ryan.”

Erin ignored it. Nora's voice was like white noise to the youth.

"Eat it nerd!"

She tried to shove the handful of grass with roots attached into her housemate's mouth. Behind her , the Head of House approached.

“Do you find Mister Tharaldson that attractive that you could not resist jumping him?”

"Yeah, that is like so totally it," Erin replied sarcastically. If Erik was still fighting back, Erin continued to wrestle him.

“Would you mind getting off him now, if you’re done with this childish behaviour?”

"Never!" Erin declared. "Is he one of your evil minions!" Yes,  she was calling Nora evil in a round about way. Erin was, if nothing else, an incredibly odd little girl. Yet with such a flair for the dramatic, it seemed more like a nonsensical statement than a literal one.

“Is there a reason for this…?”

"He started it!" Erin claimed without substantiating evidence as she searched for another handful of grass or dirt to feed him. "I am finishing it!"

The Hufflepuff blinked a lot. She could see dots that weren't actually there in front of her, it was rather distracting. By the time Serena fully recovered from the effects of the green sparks in her eyes, she spotted the game was actually over. Her house had won - not that she did much to help. But the badgers had played incredibly well. Some were hitting the ball so far that she had to wonder if they should be beaters.

Her attention was dragged to the rather loud noise in the background. A familiar voice. Not one belonging to a friend or anything but one that she had heard way too many times for her liking. Then again, even once was too much for her liking. Erin Ryan. Of course. The slytherin third year was getting in trouble, as usual. Why would they expect anything different from her? She rolled her eyes and turned away, no intention to drag herself into that mess of a fight. One of the heads of houses made their way over there anyway.

With that, she turned towards her fellow badgers, "Well done, guys, you all did really well!" She congratulated them, pleased that they had secured another win for the yellow and black house, "Wayyy better teamwork than... the other team, it seems." She added, motioning to Erin fighting a fellow Slytherin. She was proud that her house stuck together though. That was how they would get through things. Together. It worked in the past, she knew that well.

Grabbing her things, she quickly made her way back to the castle. It was starting to get a bit chilly for her.

Interacting with @Annie Morgan
Aaron blinked and it was over. He'd made contact with the ball and it had had gone soaring through the air. Farther than anyone else's ball that round! He was so excited, he dropped the bat right after his turn and fist-pumped the air. The black-haired athlete turned to the rest of the attendees and walked to the rest of the batters who had already taken their turn, eager to hear the results.

When their Head of House, Professor Browne, announced that Hufflepuff was the winner, Aaron hooted along with the cheering of the rest of the Hufflepuff players. "We won!" he shouted excitedly, looking around at the rest of the players. He made eye contact with a girl known as Annie Morgan, whom he knew from the Quidditch roster. He'd never spoken to her before, but she looked right at him and spoke about what a good job he did.

Aaron's smile couldn't have gotten wider after that. Being acknowledged for his part in the game was nice, even if he had shown up at the end! "Thanks, Annie! Sorry for showing up late, but I tried my best!" he said, sounding a bit sheepish when he explained his tardiness. As Annie was leaving, Aaron noticed Serena Towers (the Hufflepuff seeker!) congratulate everyone as well. Even though he knew he had played only a tiny role in their win, he was still smiling hard as he followed everyone back to the castle.

A glance back at the field revealed some Slytherin students still fighting, but Aaron figured the professors would take care of that. He was much more interested in going to tell Sean all about his awesome play at the game. With that thought, he quickened his pace back to the castle.

The paranoia that had festered in Erin had reached a boiling point some time ago. She was obviously unstable, agitated and paranoid. It was a reasonable reaction even considering the present situation. How there were obvious, dangerous circumstances threatening their very lives, yet everyone simply caries on as if it was just another Tuesday. It was a charade Erin was never good at being a part of even if she made a token effort.

It felt as if it was weeks since Erik had done anything, moved even. Their battle was apparently over, perhaps fighting a girl was not something that could keep the near teen interested. Save himself the shame of a hard @$$-kicking.

Since there was no longer anything to do, probably even explain at this point she would mutter a single word -- "whatever." Disgruntled. Somehow forgotten, she would get off of the boy if she was on top of him and brush the grass off her knees. She was not going to bother staying, the Professor was going to believe whatever she wanted to believe anyways. She gave no shits anymore. With a shoulder shrug she would glance towards the castle and start to walk off.

Hjørdis mentally facepalmed, sighed and rolled her eyes. Of course, outwardly, she did none of this as she watched the young Miss Ryan's aggression. "An evil minion...? I wish I had one of those..." She simply replied, wondering why she did not have an army of evil minions. That would certainly have made things far more interesting. She would have loved having an army of Slytherins that were working for her, advancing her sole purpose. Then again, she had no real tasks to assign to them. Protect the school? Make students less miserable? That did not sound like the duties of an evil minion but it was what she cared about.

Erin gave up after Erik seemed to be uninterested in the fight. Hjørdis sighed. The younger Slytherin might not have been in the wrong this time but without Erik's retort, it was hard to judge. At the very least, she might have been honest that she did not start it. But she certainly did finish it. Hjørdis simply sighed, wondering how much trouble that girl was going to get up to in the coming years.

Helping Erik up, she threw an exasperated glance at Caradoc, wondering how in heaven's name they were going to deal with Erin. But that was tomorrow's issue. For now, she just finished gathering the rest of the equipment, Hjørdis quickly finished cleaning up the pitch. Within a short while, it looked spotless, as though they had never been here. If there was one thing she was good at, it was cleaning up after all.

With the help of anyone remaining - who wanted to help - Hjørdis and Caradoc carried the supplies back to the storerooms.
