It was far too hot for Humphrey’s liking. But, alas, it does not become one as graceful as he to complain about such matters so, discretely fanning his face with his free hand, he graciously suffered in silence. It would not benefit his team (for he was such a wonderful team-mate as to think about their success as well as his own) to waste time when he could be locating the flag and winning the game.

It appeared as if one of his opponents, @Henry Holbrook, had not understood Humphrey’s sage decision as he instead seemed to elect to speak instead of search. As well as the boy’s dreadfully rude questions, his very appearance seemed determined to offend Humphrey’s gaze as, when he looked in the boy’s direction, he was met with something that looked more like a mangled ferret than a twelve year old. Humphrey sniffed twice, directing his roman nose up towards the air before haughtily responding, “I am the honourable Sir Humphrey d’Ogwarts. And who might you be?”

As he directed his questions at the bothersome badger, a figure suddenly came into his line of sight. A figure who did not even have the decency to bow before approaching without request. On sheer noble instinct alone, Humphrey immediately pulled out his sleek golden wand and exclaimed, “Incendio Duo!” in a loud, clear voice. Obviously showing her respect for Humphrey’s quick thinking, one of the girls from his team followed suit. Unfortunately, though fairly predictable as people can’t all be as skilled as Sir Humphrey, only Humphrey’s spell succeeded though, somehow, his target, a dark-haired fairly pretty girl, managed to dodge his flame.

Humphrey then proceeded to ignore said pretty girl’s attempt at a clever quip and instead turned to his teammate, @Ophelia Vanderbilt, and said kindly, “Don’t worry, I’m sure you will manage next time.”

Notes Reducio 1) General: Until recently, Dido has fully believed that she was in Ravenclaw and only realised she wasn't during an explosive and rather public encounter with Mikaela. 2) whoo!

Dido whirled around wildly as she searched the trees for the mysteriously beautiful creature. Somehow, in the blink of an eye, the alluring presence had suddenly disappeared, letting her snap out of her entrancement. This whole rainforest was odd. Things kept appearing and then slinking back into the densely packed trees, almost like the swift transformations Dido had come to hate in Transfiguration classes. Rubbing her eyes before pulling out her wand again, Dido glanced up at the girl she had noticed up in the observation tower. Was she responsible for the strange apparitions?

Content that the girl didn’t seem to be doing anything immediately, Dido turned back to Jada who was looking at her with a concerned expression. She smiled sheepishly at the girl, cheeks reddening, embarrassed to have been caught in a moment of such confusion. Opening her mouth to justify herself, Dido took a step towards Jada when, suddenly, the Slytherin let out a shriek, looking just past Dido. Dido spun around, moving to the side as she did and somehow narrowly avoiding the sharp claws of another jaguar. Too frightened to scream, Dido watched silently as the large cat, having missed Dido, set its gaze upon Jada and, crazed, made a wild rush at the girl. Thankfully, it seemed to have slowed since its first failure and Jada managed to successfully dodge its ferocious attack.

Watching it barrel past Jada, Dido let out a deep breath of relief before taking a few steps back and letting herself half-collapse into a tree, the bark rough and serrated against her back. Her eyes opened even wider when she heard Jada’s uncharacteristic question. Throughout their first year, Dido had only met Jada a few times but each encounter had mapped with Angel and… and everyone else’s descriptions of Jada as just another Tes. But Tes wouldn’t have asked that, would she? They were Slytherins. Though Dido supposed she was one too.

“Yeah,” she breathed, pushing her worries aside, “I’m good. Thanks. You?”

Dido paused to listen before adding, “Though we should prob-“

She cut herself short when she looked over towards where their team-mates had gone. Flashes of light glinted through the leaves. Flashes of fire.

“Maybe stay here actually,” she laughed breathlessly.
