2022, Stage 1 Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 8

If, perhaps, Astrea had a fouler mouth and a greater resemblance to a certain other character written by this author, perhaps she would have had an easier time expressing the surprising frustration that had assaulted her this round. Her time spent carefully healing made useless in the face of two separate Knockback Jinxes, a carefully kept standing on the piste knocked away. Weary though she was, she was still somehow clinging to consciousness with the same regal stubbornness of a caged songbird.

Alan checked their opponents who of course had chosen to heal some of the damage they had managed to bring upon him. But with Astrea knocked down and Ileen struggling to remain the defense, Alan was growing more and more confidence at their ability to be victorious in this match against the viridian vipers.

Everybody except Astrea sent off a spell one after the other, but despite just having got up, Astrea swerved out of the way of both of the spells sent flying in her direction. Even Nicky dodged the spell heading towards her too. It was a proper festival of dodging. Its a shame that right towards the end, Nicky got hit with lightning from the angry looking cloud above the Gryffindors heads.

Ileen saw Astrea getting up and new hope rushes through her body. She hadn’t looked like she would get up after another blow. But she did. The young Slytherin was deeply impressed and gave her a shy short smile.
Then her wand and she returned to battle. Filled with new hope she raised it and send another wind jinx to her opponents. Although that didn’t hit the cloud that had been pushed back and forth had enough of watching and sent a lightening down to the Gryffindor girl.
Ileen wrinkled her forehead in sympathy. That probably hurt quite a bit.

Knocked off her feet onto the merciless duelling piste, it was a singular mercy that the unhappy thunderclouds looming above did find Astrea as attractive of a target as her opponents did. Rising once more in the thankful absence of fog, the battered Astrea was given no time or thought to spare before being forced to dodge the two flipendos directed at her. A feat owed to trained instinct, but a feat nonetheless. Her partner's wind jinx, though it did not connect, was not in vain as the unexpected telltale crack of lightning sounded from the Gryffindors' area, signalling the ever-lessening amount of time they had left.

Samantha quickly checked the time, realizing the duel would come to an end very soon, they were really close to the time limit. Even though she clearly wasn't in the best state, Astrea was able to hit one of the lions with her strong flipendo. Ileen focused on Nicky too, this time sending a strong wind to the young lion. Sadly for the Slytherin team, Nicky was able to dodge this spell.

On the other side of the stage, Nicky had aimed her wand at Ileen, whose sleeve would catch fire because of the lion's spell. Alan's spell, a well-aimed Pressurized Water Charm, missed his target by just a few centimeters. However, the boy himself became the target of the rumbling cloud above him. Samantha watched in horror as another one of the Gryffindor was struck by the lighting that descended from the storm cloud above them.
