Thomas' response was peculiar, more emotive than he was originally expecting. Little things like that mattered, how much someone felt, and how much they were willing to show they felt it. Everyone was deliberate in their reactions, whether constructed or genuine. Thomas' next retort was just as amusing as Flash hoped it would be. A light laugh behind his hand came out heartily. It was simply true, Flash was an easy target. All his great show of being powerful and untouchable was a complete farce. He was barely holding it together, coming to terms with the fact that death was around every corner. What could he do but laugh.

"Woe is me." Flash said as his short burst of laughter died down.

Not only that, but by this point he had already apologized to Varellion and faced far greater bodily harm. The fight club was just one more of hundreds of tragedies. Because of it, Flash held Vladimir accountable for Victor's death, as he understood it. That rat bastard was biding time, and Flash was sick of him getting away with it. It was because of that, and his lack of shame, that Flash wanted to hurt him that night. Still, it had been wrong. In a way, he had punched Vladimir because of the fight club, but there were so many more reasons... all things Thomas wouldn't even have the slightest shred of knowledge about. So instead of trying to defend himself, he shrugged, rolling his eyes.

At Flash's final prod, Thomas looked back him, drawing his gaze. He hadn't actually expected Thomas to inquire after him, he had awaited another irreverent exposition. Closing his mouth to a thin line, Flash only had a moment to debate with himself whether he should dodge the question. Thomas might have worked for the newspaper, but he didn't strike Flash as the interrogative type. He seemed a bit overly quiet, actually. Still, he was his teammate. For Flash more than most, that was an important distinction.

"No, not this time." Flash sighed, sad to admit it out loud for the first time. "I do love to dance, but I find myself without a partner. I'm not exactly in a mad rush to find a new one either."

He had no idea how well Thomas knew Flash's reputation, but it wouldn't likely be hard for Flash to find someone to go with. Chances were, he could nab someone with prestige and pedigree without much effort, if he wanted to. There were plenty of people who gladly drank the lines Flash fed, but he was starting to get bored of it. Somehow, controlling people had become tiresome. Very few things gave him pleasure these days, though dancing had been one of them.

He'd bury his head in his hand, but be startled back up by the loud crack of Miss Erin hitting a bludger. It was like a sonic boom, and another bird was sniped out of the sky with scary power and precision. It was Erin who carried him out of that disgusting dungeon. It was Erin who told him everything he knew about Thomas Lestrange. She was wild eyed, fearless, frightening. He still hadn't been given any reason to doubt any of her insane ramblings, though. It was starting to drive him a bit mad as well.

"I haven't been very pleasant company lately. I don't think I can keep up appearances." Flash explained, whether asked or not.

Many recent interactions had lowered his guard, made him feel vulnerable and fragile. He had tried so hard to run away from his problems, but the only real option available was to struggle through them tirelessly, forever. He didn't have to act like he liked it though.

There was luck definitely on her side. They had taken quite a hit on the first round, not showing a good enough ability against the slithering Slytherins. But it seemed to put Bloom in such a trance that she had forgotten a bit of what she needed to do during the next round

Luckily, the Slytherin that was trying to score against her was not so lucky. Instead, Bloom played the field to the best of her ability, waking up from such a trance she left her post and immediately scored a goal from an unattended hoop. She looked at the scoreboard and couldn't help but the smile. While it was still showing that Slytherin was winning, it still had a nice hopeful 10 under Ravenclaw which means the game had just started.

Bloom went back to her post as quickly as she could and kept her focus the best she could. It wasn't until she realized that there was a Slytherin who was knocking off players off their brooms. Bloom took a better look and noticed that it was none other than Erin Ryans. Bloom remembered her from first year. Is her playing legal? she wondered to herself.

Percival felt a cheer build in his throat as he watched his teammates score with the quaffle. The sound of the announcer calling out, "10 points for Slytherin!", was like music to his ears. He really hoped that they would win. They had been doing so well so far, and the thought of actually being able to win this thing was tantalizing. A grin spread across his face as he watched the players zip across the sky. He wasn't too worried that the ravens had been able to score. They were still in the lead, and hopefully, they could end this round with a solid win.

Weather Temperate, slightly overcast,
a cool northern breeze ran through the pitch
When the Quaffle had been released signaling the second round begin, all hell break loose.. well, not really. A contest whose the fastest obtaining the red leather ball did happened. Cash always wonder how the Chasers managed to gained such good precision in the middle of the flurry.

The green eyes hung back on their broom until they saw the metal ball of death coming towards their Seeker. As fast as the school broom allowed them to zipped through, the young Ironwoods thrown theirselves between the bludger and Dan. The green eyes always hated when it happened to them.

Cash vaguely heard someone across the pitch called out their name and warned them about the incoming bludger that came at their way. When the green eyes saw it, the cannonball approaching them fast. They evaded it just barely but they evaded it none the less. Still it was not the best experience.

When the bludger zoomed passed them, the young socialite chase after the little cannonball. And Cash was about to whacked it back, to send it back to the original sender; they missed their change. "Seriously?!"Cash grumbled to no one in particular and slightly annoyed at their failed attempted.

They hit their bat against the shaft of their broom with a thunk. It seems the Ravens' Beaters made Cash do the hard work. They did not give the Cuban descendent time to breathe as the second bludger was aimed at Dan yet again. Once again the purple haired jumped between the little death trap and their Seeker.

This time around they were not that lucky. The bludger hit them hard right in the chest. Cash let out an oomph as the force of the metal ball managed to knocked some air out of them. When the bludger hit them, Cash gripped the shaft of their broom with all their power.

Though the bludger managed to hit them, it was not enough to make the second year fell off of their broom. "Mierda! (shit!)"The Beater cussed out. Their eyes zoomed into one of the Raven beaters. It does not look likes Ranvier was the culprit behind it since the young Beater of Ravenclaw warned them about the incoming missile.

Whose done that in the middle of a match? The green eyes thought to themselves. So that just left the other one. Cash gritted their jaw. Getting hit by a bludger was like getting hit by a truck that loaded with heavy cargo. It was always unpleasant feeling. But then not long after the bludger hit them and their fellow team mate, Erin whacked with all her might towards the other girl.

The second year cringed when the girl fell off of their broom and Cash always in awed when Erin batted her bat with such precision and strength. "Ha! In your face"Cash exclaimed pettily as the girl fell to the ground. Two down, one to go. At this point Cash did not mind if they need to play dirty. They will do whatever it will takes to bring their team into victory.

Perfect. Everything was proceeding exactly to plan. Sure, he didn't catch the snitch immediately. But the gap to it was closed, and points were had. He scowled as he noticed River also saw the snitch. This would have gone so much more smoothly if she was still in the dark.

But, Ravenclaw only had one beater left. Dan couldn't help but smirk. Maybe they should target beaters more often.

Then, he heard someone scream about their tactics being child abuse. Dan was noticeably confused. What the hell kind of person thought that sports were child abuse? Better not let whoever said that anywhere near a rugby match; they'd have a heart attack.

But, might as well run with it.

"Go, Cobras! Abuse ALL of the opposing children!"

Now, all that was left was to swipe the snitch and -hopefully- snatch the Quidditch cup from Gryffindor.

Zooming after the Quaffles, the Dhampir wasn't good enough this round. Thankfully, Thora was way more agile this time. Catching the Quaffle as if it were nothing. A soft smile slid under the redheads mouthmask, hidden behind a set of drawn on teeth. These select few of her Slytherin peers were a tough crew. They could take a hit. Speaking of hits. In the corner of her eyes, Nico noticed how a Bludger soared towards Cassandra. It would've been a brutal hit, but because of the way they manoeuvred, the Bludger rocketted the dhampirs way instead. 'What the-' Luck had been in her favour before, but not this time. The metal ball bonked into her back, slamming the air out of her lungs for a moment. She coughed heavily yet recovered quite fast. She squinted her eyes looking over at the one who tried to hit her before. The Rookie Ravenclaw. 'As I said... you're gonna need more power than that to make me fall, missy.'

Karma did strike quick on the girl. Erin smacked a Bludger right back at her, as if paying back the pain both Nico and Cass had to endure prior. It always felt strange seeing others tumble. But she hit her. The Ravenclaw hit her. And that doesn't go unpunished.

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

Abilities:

Effect: You are very distracting to look at. This increases the Control DC of spells in duels and adventures by +2 as well as the DC for finding things in adventures or the DC for finding the snitch in a game of Quidditch. (Not sure if usefull for our game but just putting it out there.)

--Unsetteling Aura

A Dhampir's Unsettling Aura becomes noticeable. This is created by their presence. It is that uncanny feeling one gets where the small hairs on the back of their neck stand on end and the flesh on their arms turn to gooseflesh. It is as if the room itself was turned down by several degrees and one's heart was filled with a foreboding sense.

Effect: This represented as a 10% auto-fail rate for anyone besides the Dhampir (or other Dhampirs) to perform an action or cast a spell. Unfortunately, this prevents a dhampir from being hidden (entering stealth) when in use. As such any attempts to be hidden in a topic while this is on would automatically fail. However, a dhampir can turn off their aura at the cost of an action (unlike those that have the ability terrible presence) and as an action turn back on their aura. This ability does not stack in intensity when multiple Dhampirs have it activated

She did not know Gabriella, in fact she did not see the young Beater as even a threat. It was merely a strategic option -- reduce their offensive options by beating down their beaters. Without Beaters, those that remained would be forced to perform a foul if they wanted to take out a member of their team. It was simply not worth the action economy unless they were desperate. It was a trend she had noticed with Hufflepuff, their efforts to keep all (or at least most) of their players in the sky, their reticence to play dirty secured them the win last year. Well, that and perhaps more than their fair share of luck.

The resounding crack of her bat was all that would herald her brutal attack on the younger Ravenclaw. The hard ball would crash into the poor girl, making a terrible sound on impact. Erin would have cringed if she was the empathetic type, rather she nodded in approval -- mission accomplished. Even if the girl was saved, which she was not, she would have been crippled by the beefy snake's assault. She found it odd that they did not bother. Did not bother to save her, that girl. As useless as she was, she was of greater utility in the sky on a shared broom than she was on the ground.

For a house of logic, she failed to understand their thinking. Perhaps she was the sentimental one, as dispassionate as she was. Yet it was not an ethical imperative that she abided that dictated efforts were best spent rescuing the girl, but rather utility. She wondered if there was some passion that clouded their judgement. A dislike for the girl. It was not as if anyone here cared if she were to break against the ground. They might miss her, her bat at the very least. Not her. Why should they? She was but a sword or a shield, it would be foolish sentiment that would drive one to feel something towards a tool. In the end, everyone in this house had ambitions, aspirations and goals and everything including other people were merely tools to reach their desired ends.

Dan would be hurled towards the snitch at breakneck speed and wiz past her. He was close, the snitch just past his fingertips. They had this game in the bag, although it was unlikely they would win the school championship for the year. Slytherin did not look far ahead, just at the present game. Gryffindor was too far ahead. it was unlikely even with this win that their house would be playing over the summer. A shame really.

Never presume anything.

River suddenly changed course -- she too had found the snitch. A pang of displeasure, potential disappointment ran through her. She was not a 'good' enough of a person to be a 'good sport' and be 'happy' for their progress and potential victory when it was at her expense.

The obvious move would be to take out River. Erin could one shot her. At most, there would be a single beater prepared to serve as her shield. Erin would eat the shield alive, meaning of course there would have to be two that would have to target the Seeker at the very least. Their limited action economy with the loss of Gabriella was an incredible advantage but advantageous positions mean nothing if River gets hold of the snitch.

"I have River!" Erin bellowed across the pitch to Dan. Dan did not need a shield, he could get a savior if need be or the hand of the other beater. They were strong enough. They could endure. River, on the other hand, had limited resources. Even if they were blocked, Erin would rip them from the sky and send them crashing to the ground. Taking out their final beater. River would have no more walls, she would have to avoid the quaffles under her own power. She would not last long.

She hoped that the second beater forgone defending Dan as well, that they both would assault River and take down her wall and her savior. However, the snakes have grown conservative with experience it would seem. Who knew how this was going to play out.
Previous round - attacked Jorah with a bludger (success) and he was knocked off his broom.
Parkins Pincer was attempted on Erin by Cecily Quinn, Valencia Deathstout and Lavinia Cloven (miss). If the description betrays how you want it to be roleplayed, I will be fine with an edit. Attacked Gabriella Haworth with a bludger.

It took a lot to draw Koko away from her precious goals, but after watching Dan’s gaze dart around the pitch too smartly to be searching for something, she knew what she had to do. Winning was - sadly - more important than guarding, and almost regretfully, Koko sped towards Slytherin’s captain, glancing back at her goals as if she wished them luck.

I’ve got you, Dan. Hold on tight.’

With that, she spun him around to the best of her ability and watched as Dan zoomed towards the snitch, arm outstretched...

...and did NOT snag it.

Sighing, Koko glanced back at her goals, still shining and unbothered. It seemed that either Slytherin’s Chasers had done exceedingly well or Ravenclaw just wasn’t good enough to best undefended goals. Perhaps both.

She hoped Slytherin would be able to make a few more goals and catch the snitch - she even crossed her fingers as they rested on the shaft of her broom. Her team needed all the luck they could get - well, maybe not needed. Was 'wanted' a better word?

It didn't matter. They still didn't have the Snitch, and although it was early, now everyone knew Dan had seen it. He likely had a huge target painted on his back... Koko fought back an empathetic grimace. They were lucky Ravenclaw was down to their last Beater...

Henry really enjoyed watching the game, but sometimes he couldn't quite tell what was happening from the bench. This game was already going a bit better than the last one, but once again, Ravenclaw was behind. It wasn't like a win would do them much good, but that didn't stop them from going down fighting. It was a lesser known trait of Ravenclaws, that they were so dedicated to what they did. Sometimes a bit too much. Henry knew he often stayed up a bit too late back home when he wanted to get something done.

This determination, though, was what kept their team pushing, even after the hardships of the previous game. The most they could do at this point was drag Slytherin down with them, and the first-string players were trying hard to do just that. Henry continued to scoot ever closer to the edge of the bench. Anyone looking at him would question how he was even still on the bench. It was a little of his own kind of magic.

Still flying high from the success that had been the first minutes of the game, Thora dove for the Quaffle yet again without hesitation, a newfound confidence burning in her chest. And to her surprise, she swept it up quite easily despite competition, this time from Ravenclaw as well as from a fellow Slytherin. The chaser secured the ball carefully under an arm, the other guiding the broom as she flew towards the goals. But as she approached, quite sure she would be able to put another ten points on the board for her team, a sense of dread [Unsettling Aura], something foreboding, swept in, settling at the pit of her stomach.

Almost directly in front of the hoops, she slowed, a shiver running down her back. She couldn't quite place it, but something didn't seem quite right - no, something definitely wasn't right. Resolving to ignore it for the moment - this was a game, after all, and a rather important one, at that - she squared her shoulders, trying to shake the feeling… and dropped the Quaffle. Hissing slightly, Thora turned and dove after the ball, upset with her prior failure and eager to try again. To her relief, she pulled out of the dive with the ball in her grasp yet again, and so she set her gaze on the goals. Again.

This time, though, there was no fumbling, no hesitation to her movements. Thrusting the Quaffle forward, she watched with satisfaction as it sailed through a goal, the bell signaling points scored sounding almost immediately. See, that was what she'd been training for, was it not?

Her triumph lasted only moments, though, as that same feeling of dread rose yet again seemingly out of nowhere, distracting her from the next Quaffle grab. Try as she might to fight off the paralyzing sensation, such attempts would prove unfruitful, and she would be subjected to watching as a Ravenclaw [Cecily] won the Quaffle instead - but didn't score, somehow. Well, that was definitely good for Slytherin, Thora supposed, although she wasn't quite sure what had happened, given that Koko was away from the goals.

Finally pulled out of her trance, Thora actually turned her broom in a swift circle in a pathetic attempt to clear away any last vestiges of whatever had unsettled her so badly. It was stupid, really, but she simply couldn't afford to be so easily affected on the pitch. After all, she wasn't a reserve anymore - no, she was a first string and her team depended on her. She'd just have to do better.
