MY GOD YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!
@Bailey Glade
i love this particular part "Oh, how I longed to be free again even if it was only for a moment," i think it was something that many people can relate to at some point. your poem is so beautiful and raw. so gooodddddddd

@Anja Murtaja
That is so depressing haha.. but so good, i personally like to read 'angsty' stuff. And your poem is perfect on depicting the mood

@Ashley Coulson
Honestly, that is so cool. I felt like i was reading a series of letters from someone. It almost like the sender wanted to get away from a toxic relationship, and they did it at last. That was the vibe i was getting from your poem. i'm Obsessed!

@Ginger Rowdy
How are you thirteen and you literally just made a masterpiece!? When i was thirteen all i did was cartwheeling in my bedroom HAHA. That was so beautiful. Sometimes, running away instead of fight in a place that tormented you is a good choice.

@Lucia Fox
That's so pretty! what i pictured from your poem was someone who wished they were in a better situation or place than the one they were in right now. If i could frame your poem, i would

@Rhea Miller
I have no word. You just made my heart blue and bruised. I'll give you a grammy

@Eliza Corrids
How can you hate ittttt!? Just like what Ashley said, love the "below the purple, hazy skies" part "I like the rhyming that you did on some parts. great jobbb!
I will write mine now haha :(

Sooooo.... it's not exactly a poem, but i wrote a song and this was a little draft that I did last night and I added some things here and there just now hehe
Outgrow

The warmth that used to fill the air
taken over by the veil of secrecy
Once flourished now looks so bare
you know it was never my cup of tea

If you were here, we'd made fun of
the malicious look on their face
I swear they intend to make
my life an utter despair
I mind my own thing,
but they keep giving me their signature death stares
Guess the war has been declared

And it's been years since you moved out
from the house
of your family legacy
Leaving all the memories
locked inside a rusty wardrobe
It used to be our hideout
Your house was bought by someone
to fill the vacancy
Matching bracelets that we bought
now lost with the flow
for they were outworn
We had outgrown
whimsical jokes we once owned
Scolded by the neighbours
we have always been a bother
since we were four
Tin can telephones
left with no response
If you're back in this town
will you smile or frown?
Are there still things we haven't outgrow?

OMG. @Aurora Ranvier. I love it! The song thing is so cool. The lines 'Leaving all the memories/ locked inside a rusty wardrobe/It used to be our hideout' are so good.

@Aurora Ranvier How did you even!? I love it so much! When you wrote "Scolded by the neighbours
we have always been a bother
since we were four
Tin can telephones
left with no response" Holy crap I like, .0. No words

@Aurora Ranvier Seriously? Why did you have to make me cry like that? The melancholy memories of childhood, looking back on what your life used to be when you were young and innocent, and realizing that you've kind of grown stale... come on. My heart has been ripped out of my chest and stomped on in the most poetic way possible. I mean, tin can telephones? Rusty wardrobe that used to be the hideout? Matching bracelets? I-

This is beautiful. I don't know what else to say. I cannot for the life of me put it into words.

If only fortune determined how stories unfold.

@Bailey Glade - Oh wow, I love this! The simplicity of it seems to describe so much more than an embellished description would, as though that is the only thought of the narrator: to be free. I especially love the last line and the lines if you were caged // you would understand. It's so powerful :cryhappy:
@Anja Murtaja - Oh goodness I'm scared I've accidentally signed up for a club of master poets now haha! I love the one-word lines, and the repitition of the word look at the start of the verses drives the message in really hard. Beautiful :love2:
@Ashley Coulson - This is so beautiful! The story told in these short verses is heartwarming, and I really like the lines Honestly// I don’t know // if I ever did.. I keep imagining the stories which could be behind Everett and the narrator's relationship haha I want to write that now :sweatingbullets:
@Ginger Crowdy - Ah this is wonderful! The story of the kingfisher is just incredible, and I especially love the lines kingfishers' blue gown and it is his fate // and he was gone. It's as though he finally accepts it and seems to drift out of his previous glory... it's so sad and beautiful, wow :'(
@Rhea Miller - This story is so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time! The pictures that it paints are wonderful, and I love the last line so much. It's also really cool how it's in second person, as though maybe the narrator is berating the reader for not doing all they can to get out of that prison, and urging them to do so. Heartwarming :cryhappy:
@Gabriella Haworth - This caught me on the first line. I love how the thoughts of the narrator seem to twist and change completely from one word to the next, and the idea of the doors. I love it :love:
@Eliza Corrids - I have to say, my favourite part of this whole poem is the first stanza. The purple // hazy skies paints a really calm and beautiful picture in my head. It's also awesome how you have the alphabetical element in there! I'd never thought of doing something like that, it's a really original idea :love2:
@Aurora Ranvier - I really like the theme of this poem, and how it's almost like an ode to the reader. The lines it used to be our hideout and tin can telephones // left with no response are incredible and I can just imagine these two children playing together with tin cans, and then, more grown up, one trying to call the other and talk to them but the other not even noticing, having moved on. Heartbreaking :'(
