I think that means no matter what gender, not sure how much more inclusive one can get without adding many more forums that would require extra work from staff 🤔small suggestion - i noticed under the ‘gender’ tab in the character profile there are only three options - female, male, and non-binary. instead of limiting it to those options, maybe change it by adding some more gender identities or allowing people to enter in character pronouns to be more inclusive? i especially would appreciate it since everly’s meant to be genderfluid and that isn’t an option![]()

As gender fluid you can change your gender to male or female as often as you want.
The non binary also represents.
Jargon changes in regards to gender and there were 63 genders in 2000, according to quora there are 112. That is a lot to code and a lot to go through. More than that, terms will be missed leaving players out and unrepresented if we go too specific. Because the binary structure (we had until a few months ago) did legitimately alienate those that were neither we added the umbrella term non binary as an attempt to represent this other group of users.
These options are hard coded. They are also tied with him/her/they pronouns in the maps, the they also added in an attempt to have some inclusiveness. Again there are a lot of pronouns, we want to at least be close but we cannot reasonably be perfect. Much like gender, pronouns have also drastically expanded over the years. Being asexual and having a preference for the ze pronouns for instance is not something we can accomplish with how the site is coded.
We want to be supportive but if we get too specific we actually would exclude some groups of people. We are committed to allowing you to express yourself however. There is an lgbtq+ (actually technically this group of letters has expanded to lgbtqia+ for example in a relatively short time) club where players talk, there are members who chat in general chats, on our discord etc about their experience as a member of that community as an umbrella. You are free to personally shine a light on your experiences. You can also mention more specifically in character, in your encyclopedia or even your signature pronouns, gender, sexuality, etc. We just have some technical limits and navigation limitations as we try to work with a large population.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Would it be possible to implement an option that allowed players to enable/disable custom fonts on their devices in the site settings; rather than disabling the fancy fonts across the site as a whole? While limited for some, custom fonts provided great roleplay flavor, and helped give a feel of a character when words could not. Is there any chance that they could return?

The problem is that no one has the same policies. I've seen entire posts appear in Arial because a player was using a nice font at home, but I didn't have it on my computer.
Short of making the site heavier, I have no easy way to solve this problem. If it's about making nice presentations and titles, images are the way to go.
If there are other common cases where fonts would be useful, you can let me know and I can add them one by one (handwriting, typewriter...).

Can you possibly add the font: TahomaZachary Winslow wrote: 5 Apr 2022, 12:11 The problem is that no one has the same policies. I've seen entire posts appear in Arial because a player was using a nice font at home, but I didn't have it on my computer.

Because it doesn't look good to me anymore and I get my muse from fonts.
Thank you so much if you can!

Understood! Thank you, Zach.
Adding to the above lists, if possible I would like to see: Monotype Corsiva, Vivaldi, Black Jack, and Gabriola. All are on the cursive side, but fairly legible. They make for good character handwriting.
Courier, or Courier New, are two others. They look more like typewriter fonts.

Tahoma is only available on Windows: no Android, no Apple. This is an illustration of what I was trying to say: on your computer, it looked nice, but others didn't see the same thing.
The problem is that a font is heavy, and I can't load 3, 4, 5 fonts on a page. I'll see what I can do to come up with some widely shared alternatives.

Ooo gotcha. What fonts are still on the page? I tried a few of them that I tend to use but none of them loaded for me, they all looked exactly the same = bad. Is there a list of fonts that still appear as they are supposed to be (aka different)?Zachary Winslow wrote: 5 Apr 2022, 21:53 Tahoma is only available on Windows: no Android, no Apple. I just tried a bunch of different fonts and none of them come up as being any different. What font styles are still on the site that can be used, so I can select from them? Sorry, my muse comes from using specific fonts, so I'm freaking out a little here. For me it's not so much an aesthetic reason why I'm using fonts, it's more of a writing reason. I can see your point but I also would like to have a choice as to what font I'm using rather than have all the options look exactly the same.
EDIT 4/6/22: YAY! The font style changed and it's beautiful! I love how it's larger and less thin because it's easier for my eyes to read now
