French was not one of the languages that she spoke. But she did not need to understand the language to witness something that irritated her. She recognised the Durmstrang uniform in an instant, of course. A boy seemed to be moving around the group, talking to several girls around the area. Her eyes instantly narrowed as she spotted the boy push the Hufflepuff Head. Respect, it seemed, was not something his school or his parents had taught him. But that did not irritate her. Lack of respect from foolish children was something she had grown to expect, it simply made her eyes roll. What bothered her was that he tried to grab someone's hand without their permission and attempted to kiss it. She did not need to understand the words that he said to know that every word was probably just an act. A flirt. At the age of, what, ten, eleven, twelve? Seriously? What happened to the good old days where children thought the opposite gender had cooties?

The temptation to flipendo the boy very far away from Cassanora was real. But she did not need to do anything. The younger girl made her move, attempting to hit him in the delicates and Hjørdis could not help but quirk an eyebrow and smirk at it. Whilst her father might have been shocked or tried to encourage her not to do that again, Hjørdis had the opposite reaction.

There was a look of pride on her face that could not be hidden. She was tempted to snicker. It took many years of restraint to force her laughter down. But the smirk was definitely playing on her lips. Locking eyes with Cassanora, she gave her a small nod of her head - her expression still not changed as she fought back her laughter.

It might have been the aggressive reaction that Caradoc disapproved of but it also showed that Cassanora could stand up for herself, that she was willing to put her foot down and was not going to let some little brat get away with his inappropriate actions. Hopefully the guy would learn a thing or two from this lesson. This was the sort of violence Hjørdis had no problem overlooking. Detention? Nope. She saw nothing.

The look of pride started to fade from her expression as she regained a bit more control over her expression, trying very hard not to look at Caradoc. He would likely glare at her for being entertained by this and encouraging it... But if the headmaster was not here, she would tell him that Cassanora did the right thing and of course she is proud of it. Violence, after all, is sometimes the most effective way of getting the right thing done. Given how she had hit him in the face in an attempt to do something right, he ought to have known that about her by now.

Unfortunately, her amusement did not last more than a few moments. The boy [CHARLES @Henry Knight's iNPC] shoved a professor for the third time. There was no mistake that it was deliberate. It was not just respect that he lacked but basic human decency, civility and manners. Hjørdis had not gotten a great impression of Durmstrang during the Quidditch match but she had put it to a sport getting competitive. This, however? This was not helping matters. She made a mental note that the next time someone considered allowing Durmstrang to visit, she would be the first to question it. If they could not learn to respect the rules of the school, they should not be here. It was that simple.

Silently, she fumed. If it was not for Caradoc, who stepped in immediately, she would have likely embarrassed the boy in front of all of the girls that he was attempting to catch the attention of. Numerous spells came to mind and she would have zero regrets in humiliating him. He deserved it in her book but since the Hufflepuff had already beaten her, she remained quiet for now.

Shaking her head as she turned her attention back to the Headmaster of Beauxbatons, "You do not need to apologise for anything," She informed him, in a slightly more gentle tone. As far as she was concerned, every girl that he had just managed to offend should have done the same. Perhaps then he would learn some basic manners and the meaning of consent.

Turning to the newest arrival - another girl from Beauxbatons it would appear - she nodded politely in a form of a greeting, "Good evening, Miss Martin," She replied - though she was not entirely sure if the evening was good or would be. She was simply choosing to ignore the fact that she was silently fuming and pretend otherwise. Years of maintaining a neutral expression worked wonders in times like this. The girl asked about the owlery and the Headmaster chipped in about a tour, "Of course, that's a wonderful idea." She replied, pleased to see a student had the desire to write home - and mostly pleased to see that the student had manners, "Our owlery is based in the West Tower. It's a little bit of a trek from the Great Hall but I'd be more than happy to escort you both on a tour -" She paused for a moment, looking over her shoulder to keep an eye on the Durmstrang kid, "Assuming work allows. If not, I am certain I can find one of our fantastic perfects to guide you," She added, turning her attention back to them.

"Hmm. Cassie." Delphine spoke with disinterest. She wasn't surprised that Cassie seemed to come off as bland as she expected. She had come to believe that a person's power came partially from what they were named. The blander the name, the more boring the person was. Cassie was an alright name, but it wasn't exactly something as fabulous as Delphine, so she decided that prying further wasn't worth her time. So much for being open minded.

Things started to get interesting when a rather cocky Durmstrang boy with parched blonde curls wiggled himself into the crowd. He decided that the best course of action was to flirt with all of the girls in line, which Delphine found amusing but also extraordinarily nauseating. Of course, eventually he made his way towards Delphine and made himself known by telling her that she was beautiful. Delphine's eyebrows raised at the compliment. Although she was only a inch taller than him, she eyed him down as if he were prey.

"May I be the one to say that I don't need you to tell me that I'm beautiful, pig?" She said in English with a charming smile, watching the boy walk away to harass his next few victims. The boy then had the gall to push a professor out of the way to kiss the hand of a girl, and, much to Delphine's delight, she promptly punched him in the groin.

"OUIOUIOUI!" Delphine cheered, laughing hard at the sight and clapping in delight as she watched him be scolded by a professor for his blatant misconduct. "Sortez ce garçon stupide d'ici, professeur! Get that stupid boy out of here, professor!" As she was savoring the pure justice of the moment, she noticed Amaury nearby and grinned. She practically ran over to him, throwing her arms around his neck from behind. They'd just become boyfriend and girlfriend a few months prior, but she was still completely enamored by him. Out of all of the boys at Beauxbatons, Delphine was convinced that Amaury was by far the one that was most worthy of her time.

"Amaury!" Delphine grinned, kissing his cheek and pointing in the direction of the Durmstrang twit. "Regarde-le. Il va avoir des ennuis pour être stupide et flirter avec la mauvaise fille. Look at him. He's gonna be in trouble for being stupid and flirting with the wrong girl." Like most teenage girls her age, Delphine thrived off of drama.

Sylvie, Amaury's sister, was also a victim of the Dumb-strang boy's flirting. Delphine liked her okay, if not because she was an extention of her hunky brother, but even then she still couldn't fend off the temptation to tease her. "Sylvie, peut-être qu'il devrait être votre partenaire au bal.
Sylvie, maybe he should be your partner at the dance." She smirked, still hanging off of Amaury's shoulders. "S'il peut encore danser après que le professeur lui ait coupé les jambes, bien sûr.If he can still dance after the professor cuts off his legs, of course."

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

Two opposite personalities that was Charles, he wasn't one or the another but two. One was his shy and quiet demeanor when he was around family or professors while the other was his fun and social side that he is around friends and everyone else. Charles tried his best to keep both sides of his life separate but things don't always go the way we would like, Charles has for sides of his life in the same place and yet he is struggling with which side should he show not to mention people from both sides of his life there to.

However Charles did have manners and could be polite, he was forced into them at a young age from his family so even through he hardly ever used them when away from family that didn't mean he didn't have them and couldn't switch it on and off at his will. Charles get a small smile toward Maximillian and the girl he was talking to as he spoke " excuse me for a minute miss, Maximillian," Charles then made his way back to that professor who called his name.

Even though Charles found him rather annoying, he kept his guard and held himself straight up as he was around only five or so inches shorter than the man
Charles gave a small head bow like how he was taught before speaking to the man " Charles Alluring of Dumstrang institute," Charles knew the man probably recognized his surname since his family was well known and high connected in the wizarding world as Charles continue in his former pure British accent " apologies for any words or actions that occured," Charles would have laughed at the man stance if he wasn't playing a part, he couldn't help but wonder if that was him being seriously then what his laid back stance was. For the boy that stance was usually a laid back on in his household and even laid back had their problems in his family.

Detention? Really, even though Charles didn't show it he was bothered since he suffered worse both at school and home. Actually Charles wasn't suppose to be there because of all the trouble he causes at Dumstrang and the only reason he was there was because his spot on the broom racing team which explains how he got to go and his brother didn't. Charles would have been on his best behavior and properly represented Dumstrang but it was one of those moments where he could also be himself and relaxed so while he was a bit worried for his headmaster's lecture if this guy told her, he wasn't that worried about him.

Charles put on a small, half smile before speaking " I don't think detention will be necessary sir, my apologizes for anything that occurred in my presence," Charles may have looked at the part but it wasn't him as in his head he couldn't help but think, some professor they have here. I wonder where Hogwarts finds these guys, keeping his thoughts to himself this time before stating again in a former British manner " if that is all then I will be going, but I'll let you know that if you do inform my headmaster about this then I'm sorry to say but she would be alarmed at the least since I'm know to cause trouble at Dumstrang."

Charles gave a small head nod to the man before turning on his heel and walking away, pathetic,
Charles couldn't stop himself from thinking when he caught a conversation from the girl with short hair and slowly going back to his second personality, he wander over to her, Delphine Desmarais, and whispered in her ear in French " maybe try insulting someone in a language they do not know, like this miss," Charles then whispered in her ear in Russian " aren't you annoying, shortly," Charles was referring to her hair before turning on his heel and leaving.

Charles approached the girl and Maximillian again still with his posture and speech polite and well mannered as he switch back to the other personality before speaking " my apologizes about that. What did I miss in my absence?"

Before Madeleine could get an answer about the three of them dining together, an unfamiliar boy suddenly appeared and bumped into the professor. Maddie's brown eyes got wide as the boy grabbed Cassanora's hand right in front of her father! What was this idiot doing? No way would she-

Her best friend did not disappoint with her reaction. Maddie had to cover her mouth to keep from laughing out loud at what happened. The boy got kicked in the privates by Cass and she told him off before storming away. Although she had managed to stifle her laugh, a huge smile graced her face as she called after Cassanora.

"I'll be there soon!" Madeleine reassured her. She then turned her eyes back to Cass's father as he spoke to her. "Thank you, professor," she said, feeling a little shy about talking to him on her own. Not because he was an adult, but because she usually relied on Cassanora to reassure her about her English. "I look forward to exploring!" she added, hoping that was the right word to use. Professor Browne then excused himself and went to talk to the other adults, leaving Maddie to her own devices.

Normally, Maddie would have caught up with Cass straight away, but she was still in awe of the outside view of the castle. She glided across the courtyard in her charming way, approaching one of the stone columns. Her hometown of Colmar was full of some of the most beautiful architecture in France, and she had developed a deep appreciation for old buildings and medieval designs. She admired the cracks in the stone, appreciating that they told a story from hundreds of years ago. She wondered if the castle had ever gone through any major renovations.

Either way, Madeleine thought the stone was really pretty, even if it wasn't as smooth and polished as Beauxbatons. But... even her beloved French magic school was not as pretty as the girl from before. Maddie wondered if she could find out her name before heading inside, so her eyes scanned the courtyard again in search of her.

He no longer cared about the girl in front of him. If she wanted to continue the conversation than he would listen and stand there but that would be a waste of his and her time. They defiantly could both be doing something better. Maybe talking to people that were actually interesting.

Sébastien's ears pricked up quickly as he heard someone [LOUIS] talking about the merpeople in the Great Lake. [F] "Langue of the merpeople. That's quite an unusual language. I myself know Veela." He grinned and continued, [V] "I hope you were trying to copy me. That would be bit flattering though."[/b] He was trying to impress the younger people that stood near him. "You should go and talk to the merpeople. Just to be sure don't speak while out of water."

Suddenly, a boy [CHARLES] he did not recognize stormed into the area and went around to talk to everyone there. That was quite rude. Normally ruder than Sébastien. [F] "Excuse me sir. But do you know it is rude to but into one conversation? Let alone multiple?" He scoffed slightly, [V] "However, you people from Durmstrang would not know that would you? You are all very ignorant."

He sighed and crossed his arms, [F] "I suggest you run along back to your little Russian friends before every lady here rejects you. Now, that would be quite an embarrassment wouldn't it?" Sébastien laughed and looked down on the boy before turning back towards Kit. "What a prick." Maybe after all she was more interesting than he thought.

Florian was quite pleased when Rosa took his hand, as well as with her and Verena's agreement that the Hogwarts castle looked... well... it was certainly not what they were expecting from somewhere with such a high prestige as Hogwarts.

There was quite a lot going on in the courtyard it seemed, with the reunion of father and daughter, as well as said daughter attempting to punch a student in a place Florian never wanted to be punched. Well, at least the boy dodged it, but let's just say that it was certainly his fault. The boy had to be from Durmstrang, as his robes were completely different than that of the Hogwarts students there, and he was running around flirting with every girl he could. Florian was both a little impressed by his determination and courage, but also a bit disgusted. Women were not pieces of meat, they were to be respected. Still, Florian also couldn't help but feel like quite a lad with both Rosa and Verena next to him. "You two might want to watch out for that boy," Florian began as he pointed to the Dumstrang boy, "He seems like quite the player." he warned them.

Headmaster Monserrac had then announced that they may head to Hogwarts's Great Hall for dinner. After such a long journey and lots of chit-chatting with both Rosa and Verena, Florian was absolutely famished. Plus, he needed to stay in tip-top shape for the upcoming broom race. It was literally the next day! He turned to Rosa and Verena and said, "Dames Ladies, if you would like to join me, I am off to the great hall to eat. The broom race is tomorrow and I want to be in perfect shape!" He was both nervous and excited for it, and he smiled largely at Rosa knowing she would be in the crowd cheering for him. He was going to make sure she had the best time at the ball for it too. He turned to start heading through the large doors where a large number of students were also heading. "I'll need to get a lot of rest too... I hope our accommodations aren't as uncomfortable as the castle appears..." He muttered as he began to walk away. He also hoped there would be less drama at the race... but deep down he knew that certainly wasn't going to be the case. He knew that he was going to do what it takes to win.
Florian leaves thread.

The blonde was watching the interactions. Mostly watching Mr. Browne, the facilitator of the midget-giant threat. Hufflepuff was rife with these dangerous creatures, appearing as normal students with a dastardly secret - they were in fact midget giants. Quinn Healy, one of the more dangerous ones if only because she was aware and because he had essentially confessed to cannibalism. He was thankfully not there. The same could not be said for the head of house sadly. He made her feel uneasy and she did not like the way he looked at Jensen, the food maker. He was dangerous and he would get the old lady killed. She needed to find a way to ensure that Browne would keep his distance from her snake mother.

Her eyes narrowed as a little girl rushed out of a carriage and over to Mr. Browne. Dammit, he was going to pick up Quinn's first dinner. She let out a huff, the reluctant hero was going to have to intervene. She took a step towards the duo when a small wall of strangers started to gather in front of her. She would not notice Madeline Nakamura's (@Aaron Jones) protracted gaze but she would not miss Cassie HeatherMcGregor-Martin's (@Lucia Fox) [what a mouthful of a name] introduction.

"Hey, I'm Cassie."

Erin had no sense for accents. Cassie could have been Brazilian as far as the pureblood knew. At the very least, the girl spared the part veela her full name.

"Do you know what we should be doing, please? Our headmaster just left with one of your teachers, I think."

Which one was their Headmaster? Probably one of the adult ones. Her eyes scanned those gathered. Most of the adults were elsewhere with the exception of Caradoc. Erin shrugged her shoulders and replied with a friendly warning. "I would not follow your Headmaster if he left with the Professors. Too dangerous," she looked behind her and eyed potential routes of escape.

As she had given the foreigner fair warning, Maximilien de Fostoney (@Lindsey Springhall) would approach the duo. All Erin knew was that he was French, he came from the wagon and was therefore less likely to be evil. Less likely, nothing was ever entirely certain.

“Mademoiselle Cassie Heather McGregor-Martin,” he did not spare himself the duration of the girl's full name, a talent in breathing if nothing else. Perhaps his stamina would be adequate to survive his time here in Hogwarts. A girl can hope in any case.

“How do you do?” This time in reference to Erin. It took her a few moments to register the greeting, nobody talks to her. Well, there are rare exceptions. Often antagonism on the part of the speaker or a long-term manipulation where kindness was displayed for the purpose of crushing her spirit it would seem (@Jack Burnett). A noticeable delay, there would be a noticeable spark of recognition in the part Veela's eyes, as if those neurons had finally conversed and reminded her of non-toxic decorum. "Y-yeah... GOOD!" She said slightly louder than necessary.

“Sor…sorry if I interrupted, Mademoiselle... I’m a Beauxbatons student also, if you are wondering.”

Erin knew what he was, a human (probably) and a student from a foreign school. "Just not used to being spoken to," she said with complete seriousness. "I was just warning your schoolmate," she skipped introductions as she was far too out of practice but in her defense there was also no time for such frivolities.

...But the French certainly found time. "Salut!" Sylvie Joelene Everett (@Miranda Everest) exclaimed. "I"m Sylvie Everett! You're Maximilien, right? And Cassie, of course...and, um, I'm afraid I don't really know your name."

Names were not necessary, it was unlikely either of them would survive. A waste of breath really. However, it was more effort to tell them that, so she just gave them a name. "Erin Ryan," a simple name, at least in comparison to these girls with their long, fancy names. "But really I should--"

The French were endless! Another fancy name, whose name took longer to say than it would for them to get killed by the numerous dangers in Hogwarts would approach them, Maximilien de Fostoney (@Lindsey Springhall).

Their alleged engagement, none of her business. it was not as if the site rating allowed for child brides anyways. “Ah, ah, yes, I’m Maximilien… Pleasure to meet you here, Mademoiselle.” He was more interested in one of the girls, one of the girls with a needlessly long name. Whoever they were to one another, introductions from two students of the same school seemed a bit queer.

However as sudden as he approached them, he would depart. “I’m sorry Mademoiselle, but I’ve got to go now. See you later, Cassie. I…I’m with some very important business… Very suspicious, Erin frowned as he gave the girl a stuttering explanation. She did not like it. She did not trust it.

He would beckon one of the other girls, one he hardly even addressed to follow with a whisper. Presuming they left together, Erin would watch the girl comply and when she was out of earshot would would state in a whisper perhaps the girl next to her could overhear. "Never walk off with someone acting strange. That's how you get yourself killed..." That was how her paranoid mind worked -- everyone was dangerous until proven otherwise. What should be safe was often perilous, filled with lies and intentions she could not even start to fathom.

Erin's attention would be drawn to Caradoc, the dangerous Hufflepuff Head of House. A fiend that hid among badgers. The little girl was still with him, thankfully not yet accosted. That was until some boy bulled his way near her and attempted to kiss her. She did not appear to be interested and from the looks of it, he was also bullying the badger. Normally she would have sided with the unknown boy who was irritating the head of house but he was obviously no threat to the adult, even if he was a death witch. In fact, Mr. Browne could down the boy in a single blow, but he had not and the girl made a futile effort to kick the swarmy youth to no avail. "The hell..."

He did not appear to be one of the French. In fact they looked rather fussed also, yet he exuded a cocky confidence. The sort where one erroneously thinks that there is no consequence. The sort where one believes that they could become the center of attention by doing something senseless and outrageous. But to presume there would be no consequence was madness. Merely the juvenile measure of status and rank. And to be below, one would cede to the other but that was not the case here. An illogical display of antagonism and rudeness.

A Deathwitch or Midget Giant...

A reasonable presumption. A guttural growl would escape the girl's throat. Some of the French had already come to the girl's verbal defense but there was nothing physical. The French really were not the type for that were they. Too posh probably. [Note: the opinions of Erin do not necessarily reflect those of the writer]

"Need to fell a Deathwitch..." Erin announced as she pardoned herself with the senseless-seeming phrase. She was not one to give warning as she marched towards the boy. Just a single word, "hello."

A fist made, she swung hard. A hook to the face if it landed. [Feel free to roll or I can in discord.]

First, the blonde Hogwarts student introduced herself as Erin, before continuing to say something that was cut off by the boy replying with an affirmation in french that he was indeed Maximilien, and Sylvie found herself unsure whether to be happy her guess had been right, or horrified by it. That meant the reality of her situation was incapable of being ignored, at least not easily. Again, she felt a strong flicker of annoyance towards her parents, aunts, and uncles. This was their fault. Had it even occurred to them to ask her opinion first? Apparently not.

"It's nice to meet you as well," Sylvie replied, although her usual enthusiasm was a bit less than usual - reality had finally taken hold.

The trailed off, then startled slightly when Maximilien abruptly turned to Cassie and said he had to leave...for some important business? Sylvie was confused, but it morphed into surprise when he whispered to her, than quickly walked off. However, like most things that happened to her, Sylvie took it in stride, and murmured an apology to Cassie as she followed, her curiosity obvious in her eyes.

Maximilien didn't stop until he arrived at a mostly empty corner of the courtyard, which apparently prompted him to come to a halt and turn to face her.

"Yes, I know," Sylvie replied quietly, something that was quite unheard of for her. "It was our families'." She smiled weakly, hoping her improvised finalizing of his trailed of sentence was at least close. In her own opinion, it was her family that was to blame...they'd organized the whole affair after all.

Sylvie saw Maximilien look up and followed his gaze, but didn't see anything out of the ordinary, just more students. Perhaps she spent a bit too long looking, because it was the sound of him speaking up again that made her turn back.

"Well, I'll try...but no guarantees," she replied, a bit of her formerly excitable self returning, though barely. "I'm Sylvie Joelene Everett. Nothing too fancy, as you can see. But you can call me Sylvie."

"And...I understand." She nodded slightly, her words unusually hesitant. "Just so you know, I don't like it either. I didn't even know until a few days ago..." A faint ripple of annoyance passed her features, but disappeared quickly. Sylvie would have said more, but was interrupted by a boy with curly blonde hair that was quick to introduce himself to her, than spoke to Maximilien in what sounded like friendly terms.

Feeling a bit awkward, Sylvie stood a bit to the side, watching with confusion as the encounter played out. However, it wasn't long before the boy, who'd said his name was Charles, excused himself for a moment and walked off, disappearing into the crowd as far as Sylvie looked.

"Um...so..." she had no idea what to say, and simply watched Maximilien nervously, wondering what he would say. "You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to. I'd understand that."

Rosa's coat:
Reducio

As Verena carefully handed her the new expensive winter coat she had recently spent her pocket money on, Rosa accepted it and slipped into the burgundy-coloured long, full skirt coat. It paired beautifully with her light blue Beauxbatons uniform, at least for her taste, that is. "Merci, honey," the girl said to Netherlands-born fellow first year. "Do I look nice in it? Does this lovely coat make me look like a princess?" she asked in French.

As usual, Rosa enjoyed it very much when others complimented her looks and fashion taste. However, some people just did not do it voluntarily, so she often had to ask them for opinion. Gosh, what was wrong with them?

Suddenly, Florian warned both Verena and her that there was a boy who seemed to flirt with every girl he met. Rosa turned around to see a boy with hair the colour of honey. She thought that he was rather plain for her taste, but at the same time, as it often happened, she liked boys flirting with her. It made her feel like she was the most sought-after girl in the world. So after making sure that Florian could not see what she was doing, the blue-eyed girl gave Charles her "innocent-but-flirty" look for a split of second.

"I am off to the Great Hall to eat," Florian said, explaining that he would need the energy and strength for the interschool broom race which would be held the next day. Rosa felt this was a good idea; even though she was not particularly hungry, sitting inside seemed like a much better idea than standing out here in the cold and hearing all the dramas. Who cared about those petty people, anyway?

"Well, aren't you going to invite me to go with you?" she called after her male friend in French, but followed him inside anyway. "Verena, care to join us?"

Although the girl [DELPHINE] had asked for Cassie's name, she didn't seem at all interested in sharing her own - and there was no way Cassie was going to make her. This girl wasn't worth conversing with, so Cassie didn't say anything else.

Cassie smirked at Berry's slightly confused expression as she gave him a high-five. Really, he ought to be properly introduced to Muggle culture sometime, she thought to herself only half-jokingly. The muggleborn would have to invite him to come visit at some point over Christmas - even if just to watch his face as he discovered what 'football' was.
After laughing at her friend's statement, she replied, "You kinda sell the look as it is, but maybe that's just me!" the girl joked.

Oh help, sign language!
Although Berry had been teaching Cassie Heather some simple sign language, she still needed a moment to figure out what his hands were saying (she managed to make out the words Cassie, talk more , and today) and then another to figure out her reply. It was very disjointed, but after all she had only been learning for about nine months - and she hadn't practised much over the summer.
Yes, she signed slowly. The speed was for her own benefit, not Sébastien's. At the dinner?

Cassie frowned at the girl [ERIN]'s statement.
"Wait, what?!"
Weren't teachers supposed to make you feel safe, not threatened? That was how it worked in Beauxbatons, anyway, and Cassie Heather couldn't say that Hogwarts was giving her a particularly good impression, if the teachers made students feel unsafe.
"I trust him," she replied, surprised to find that she meant it. Before coming to Beauxbatons, she would never have thought herself able to really trust someone as old as her headmaster, but there it was. People changed. She couldn't help adding, "How come you don't trust your teachers? Did one give you a bad mark or something?" Maybe the blonde was just overreacting.
And before the Hogwarts girl could say anything about where Cassie Heather and her schoolmates should be, the Beauxbatons headmaster addressed the school. "Oh good, I'm starving" she smiled to the girl, then realised that she probably had no idea what the elderly man had said. "Apparently it's dinner soon," Cassie added by way of explanation.
The Beauxbatons girl was confused at her elder's expression. The girl kept looking around, eyes darting through the crowd as if looking for something. But what?
"Are you okay?" Cassie asked her, but before she had chance to reply a boy cut into their conversation.

Maximilien - or, Max, as Cassie called him - was one of Cassie Heather's friends... Sort of. He was nice, sure, and looked after his appearance (although that wasn't really one of Cassie's requirements for friendship), but there was one thing that really frustrated her about Max. He was just so shy.
"Oh, hey Max," Cassie replied, speaking English for the other girl's benefit. Did she speak French? Maybe, but it was probably better not to take the chance and make her look like a fool if she didn't. "I'm ok, thanks. You?"
The Hogwarts student seemed to be surprised to be spoken to, and answered unnecessary loudly. Her tone was panicked.
Huh, there was something wrong with this girl. Did she have PTSD or something? Cassie couldn't help wondering.
"Apparently, we should not trust our own Headmaster, and the teachers here are dangerous," Cassie explained to Max in French, with a glint in her eye. Obviously, she didn't believe a word of what the blonde had said.

Then, another girl came bouncing up to them. This time, Cassie Heather recognised her as Sylvie Everett, her partner-in-crime at Beauxbatons. Although the two were not exactly best friends, they were certainly pretty close; a fact probably due to the nearly identical personalities of both girls.
Cassie chuckled as Sylvie introduced herself to the Hogwarts girl - everything the French girl said seemed to end in an unsaid exclamation mark. It was one of the reasons Cassie liked her.
"Hey, Sylvie!" the muggleborn grinned, now speaking English again.

Oh, so that was the Hogwarts girl's name - Erin Ryan. Cassie had always liked the name Erin, although it had been slightly spoiled by the memory of a girl at her first Muggle primary school, who definitely hadn't been one of Cassie's friends.
This Erin seemed okay though, if a little uncomfortable talking to them.
Max and Sylvie suddenly left, to Cassie's surprise, and she called after them in French. "See you later!"

Another strange statement from Erin prompted a raised eyebrow from the younger girl. "No-one's going to get killed," she said, clearly confused. "This is a school, not a murder scene. Or, at least, I should hope so!" The last sentence was a joke, an obvious attempt to lighten up the conversation, but it didn't work, because Erin's eyes had latched onto someone in the crowd.

Cassie Heather had seen Charles, the Durmstrang boy she had met about a year ago, attempt to flirt with a girl she recognised as Cassanora, and had even smirked at his immediate dismissal. "Take that, Alluring," she'd muttered under her breath, amused. But Erin had obviously seen as well, and didn't seem to notice how Charles had apologised already.
"Huh? What's a 'deathwitch'?" the muggleborn asked, and followed Erin as she marched... over to where Charles stood, now by himself.

"What the heck're you doing?!" Cassie practically shrieked, and moved in front of her friend to spare him any more assaults. "Yeah, he did a stupid thing, sure, but he's already been told off over it, and he's apologised!" she argued, voice slightly shrill. "At least Cassanora actually had a reason, she was okay, but he didn't even do anything to you! This isn't your job!" she continued, then turned to Charles. The girl spoke in French this time, and her eyes narrowed. "Charlie, you're an idiot, but I think you know that already. I'd say get out of here until someone else decides to punch you in the face, and stop flirting with every girl you see." Cassie said crossly. She gave both people - Charles and Erin - a glare.
She hadn't minded Erin before, but seriously? This wasn't the blonde's fight, so there was no point entering it. Maybe she just liked drama? And what on earth was a Death Witch?
