Aurelia smiled: "Of course Scarlett, the professors stand no chance" With a sneer on her face, Aurelia glanced over to the professors, it seemed like the prefects had joined the professors' side but it didn't make much of a difference. There were still more students.
She adjusted her stance so that she would be less likely to fall and braced herself for the pull. She could feel the tension on the rope as both sides started dragging. The strength shown from the teachers surprised her. It would be harder than she had anticipated.
Then, the boy in front of Scarlett fell but Auri stayed stable. She wasn't naturally strong, but years of fitness conditioning had improved her odds. Her heels dug into the grass and she gritted her teeth. The rope was rubbing at her fingers, which were struggling to keep a grip and she could feel a sudden pain shooting up her arm.
NO- no... The professors were somehow winning.
She could sense herself getting yanked and she toppled forward slightly. But there was a sudden determination Aurelia noticed in Scarlett. The red hair was signalling to her like a flag. She glanced up towards the sky leaned backwards. Then she began to find her strength again. She tugged and tugged. Harder and harder. It wasn't over yet. "We got this", she mumbled.

Field Day Finale | Tug of War
── ❋ ──𝓞kay so the first round hadn't gone exactly according to plan. Sure, there were a hoard of students that outnumbered the professors in this tug of war game, but the students definitely had much less strength than the professors. After all, they were full-grown adults and the students weren't fully grown yet and therefore, that meant less strength. Plus, it seemed like some of her friends had sided with the professors. Given, Cecily was a prefect and Ami was the moderator of this whole event, but to Amadea it seemed slightly unfair that the students were infiltrating the professor side. Who were they really loyal to? Clearly, it wasn't to the students.
Of course, as much as Amadea could spend time blaming her friends, she knew that she also was (mostly) to blame as well for the failure on the student side of the rope. After all, her less than strong arms were probably doing almost nothing to help her team pull the rope; she almost wanted to cringe as she had yanked hopelessly at the rope in the last round. Give Amadea a wand and she could hex you with a darn powerful spell, but anything requiring physical strength was something she did not excel in. Clearly, she thought to herself, as the rope was tugged closer to the professor side. But this negative mindset was not going to win them this war and even though they had lost footing during the first round, there was no way that Amadea was going to let her team give up now. She steadied herself and tried to pull harder at the rope, hoping that this time more progress would be made.Stamina: 9 | Evasion: 9 | Strength: 2 | Wisdom: 9 | ArcPower: 13 | Accuracy: 10

Aaaand the professors had won the first round. Gosh darn it. After a quick little, the week second year enclosed her hands around the tattered rope yet again. She felt as if the ground would slide under her. Would it? There was a chance. Like, a 99% chance. She was really believing in that 1% right now. Her green-blue eyes looked up at the line of professors and a few students. With that Nell smiled. She was always so competitive, and, as much as she wanted to show the professors that the students were superior, she didn’t feel and absolute need to. Nell kept pulling the rope, as she thought things over. She would obviously continue to pull, but for once she didn’t feel the need to win. And it felt really good to not have to want to be the best for once. The thin smile grew across the girl’s pale face as she kept pulling. She was actually having fun for once. And when Nell thought all was well, she fell. Her feet came slipping from under her and she fell into the soft, muddy grass. Shoot. Her head pounded, but she brushed herself off quickly and stood up. Her cheeks turned bright red with embarrassment, but she kept pulling on the rope.

Talking to most of the teachers
Many students and teachers had gathered at this point and it was looking clear to be one hell of a battle. The teachers varied in size, some were small and some were abnormally large for their age. None the less, each of them provided a strength that some of the students didn't have. Percy looked down the long row of students and nodded slowly in confidence that they were going to beat the teachers with ease "Don't worry everyone, the professors will be eating dirt in a matter of minutes" he said while rerolling his sleeves and walking over to the rope.
He stood near the front of the rope and gazed over to the line of professors, who were also eager to gain a win over their students. Percy could only grin as he picked up the rope and got ready to pull "Lets see how long there backs will last before they hit the floor shall we..." he said out loud, pumping himself up for the test of strength ahead. After a few minutes, everyone was in position and ready to pull with all they had. A moment of silence came over the crowd as they awaited for the signal, before suddenly all pulling back at once with all the strength they had. Percy grunted loudly as he dug his shoes into the dirt floor below, leaning back with the rest of his class mates in an attempt to pull the professors closer to the line

Still standing around in confusion with both hands on the rope, Søren was not ready for the game to begin. The pulling between the two groups seemingly started without warning for him and it felt like he was suddenly caught in a moshpit at a Weird Sisters concert. Not that he’d ever been to one of those. Gosh, he really should have done his research before signing up for these events. If he’d known what Tug of War was, there was no way he would have participated. He was a strong kid, sure, but getting all rough and sweaty was unsurprisingly absent from his Hogwarts playbook.
He also hated losing which is what was happening to his team right in front of him. Clearly, they were losing because he was caught off-guard. Obviously. Saying a silent prayer, he tightened his grip on the rope and dug his shoes into the ground. Oh, he’d have to get all that dirt cleaned off after. Would a house elf do the job for some galleons? Probably. In any case, his teeth came together in a hard grit and he tried to ignore the perspiration beginning to pop up. With a sharp pull towards himself, he hoped that his strength could give them a win.Ability: Charmer

Mentioning @Nell Zoldak"O-oh hey Remi-" Melissa said to the boy. Then, the first pull happened. It went by very quickly but it turns out that even though the other team was outnumbered, they were still stronger. Guess the professors are stronger than they look... she thought. No way the ginger was going to let them win though. The students still had a chance to win. After all, this was just the beginning of the game. Maybe the other team was just lucky and pulled because most of the students weren't ready.
Bracing herself for another tug from the other team, Mel tugged the rope as hard as she could. The other students seemed to be doing the same since the professors made them go over the line a bit. We still got it, she thought. Everything was going well, actually, that was until she saw a girl in front of her slip and fall. Usually, Melissa would care because it meant that there was less resistance for the other team but for some reason, she didn't this time. Honestly, maybe it was because she didn't really care if they won anymore. She just wanted to have fun...that's all.Stats: Sta: 5 /Evas: 6 /Str: 6 /Wis: 6 /ArcP: 5 /Acc: 7

As soon as Willow began the event, Serena began to tug with all of her might. Yet despite trying her absolute best and her team having the advantage of more people, the professors started to pull it towards their side. Serena let out a huff. Sweat was beginning to form on her brow, but she wouldn’t dare remove her hand from the rope to wipe it off. There was no way that she was going to lose! Especially if it meant cleaning up classrooms for a week! Seriously, why on earth did one of the students have to turn this into a bet?
“Come on, everyone! We can do it!” Serena shouted as she continued to pull on the rope. “There’s no way we can let them win! So put your backs into it and PULL!”
Hopefully, this would inspire some of her fellow students to tug even harder. Besides strength, good morale and a sense of togetherness would be needed to turn the tides in their favor. Thankfully it was still early on in the game; they could win this yet. No, not could, they would win this, if Serena had anything to say about it!

The french nurse got an amused look from the professor of Divination, watching him kiss his muscles like some kind of circus strongman before he took hold of the rope. Hopefully the students would be inspired by the professors' spirit. Or they would find it amusing enough to make fun of, which would be excellent for morale and bonding among the students. Seeing @Willow Anderson joining the professor side, she gave the girl a smile - though her focus returned to the task at hand as she prepared for the pulling.
"No thrown out backs - just a few bruised egos for the young folks!" she called back to @Henry Knight, engaging in a one for one heckling match with the young boy. She felt a little confused with herself to be having so much fun taunting a child, but maybe it was just nice to be able to do it so openly.
"General or not, we've got a front line to push!" Rosalind shouted, getting into the army role-playing by giving it her best drill sergeant voice - the professors next to her in line would surely have ringing ears with how she was shouting before she leaned back and pulled the rope with all of her might, baring her teeth like an angry monkey. She laid her American accent on thick, hoping to spark some patriotic pride in the British students to fight back a little harder. "Come on! I thought you Hogwarts kids had some mettle? I'm not impressed!"

It was just as they were all going to their sides that Marcus picked up on the fact that the young girl talking to Nora (@Callie Jensen) had actually called her "Nora." Why? Were they familiar enough to be on first name basis? Maybe they were related? Because there was no way that Nora would just allow a student to disrespect her like that. He would have to get to the bottom of that later.
Marcus watched as a few more students were prompted to join the professor side of the rope. He thought it was unnecessary - the adults could easily overpower the group of kids. Or at least he could. He glanced again at Nora with wary eyes, and was only okay with her joining their side because it meant Browne would also be on their side. He grabbed the rope and pulled when prompted, and felt it give way to their side slightly. Good, but - why was this not as easy as he had anticipated? Were the kids actually going to give the adults a run for their money?
"Put your back in it Marcus! One, two, THREE!"
Marcus gritted his teeth at the sound of Browne calling him out. To be fair, he called out a couple others urging them to pull as well. But the man took it as a personal challenge. The muscles beneath the breathable long-sleeved shirt he had decided to wear flexed as he adjusted his hold on the rope, and he readjusted his footing. Perhaps wearing his staple dark jeans had not been the wisest decision, but he hadn't expected much of the students on the other side of the rope. Marcus pulled this time with all his strength, wanting to end this as quickly as possible.

Willow mostly stayed as an observer to the game, still feeling a responsibility as a referee. Granted she was at the very front of the Professor line, but she was so tiny how was she supposed to see over their stupid fully grown adult heights. She trusted them to behave, not so much the students who were always spell happy. Should she have made them put away their wands somewhere? If anything, she was surrounded by the most adult people in the school and with prefects right behind her, so hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with it... Hopefully they wouldn't fire back.
She shook the thought out of her head, she needed to trust her fellow students not to cause chaos in an event like that. The banter thrown back and forth between the students, bartering on a reward for the winner since there was no way Willow and Ami could get enough chocolate frogs for the students that had signed up, and they weren't exactly sure what the professors would want as a reward. Better homework quality? Who knew.
While every one on the Professor team seemed to be pulling their weight, across the way she saw Scarlett's hands slip off the rope and fall to the ground. There also seemed to be a few students that weren't really pulling their weight at all. It wasn't really a surprise when they were just barely able to pull the students a little bit farther. "Come on you guys! Do you want to win or not?" Encouraging another team was probably a bad idea, but she couldn't help it.Outfit Ref ||
