Of course... you couldn't lead your men to glory if you found yourself immediately skewered upon the end of a spear. Greta was prepared to step into the fray, but she wasn't about to walk recklessly into danger. No, she danced into it. Steps light, eyes sharp, and reflexes engaged, she was not so ignorant to think that the approach of the scruffy boy in front of her meant that he was simply going to be allowing himself to be used as a meat shield to protect his teammates. There was a certain glint of cunning to his eyes that spoke to he desired nothing more than to seize victory for his team.

The moment he raised his wand, Greta ducked. Little more than a head pocking out of a ball of layered and crinkled linen as her dress poofed with the squat, the spell sailed harmlessly overhead. Apparently it wasn't the only one she needed to be worried about, however. No sooner had she avoided that potentially disastrous encounter than did another ball of light grow larger on approach. She barely had time to snap her leg back up to a rise and hop to the side in a pirouette, skirts flaring in the effort. Fortunately, with a bit of luck, good timing, and agile movement, Greta managed to avoid getting hit with not one, but two spells.

Her heart raced with the excitement of it, the close encounters feeding the her adrenaline. A duel could quickly grow dull without at least the risk of losing, and these white players were proving to be more resilient and adept casters than she might have initially given them credit for. She could barely contain her smile; even pressing her lips together, the corners of her mouth turned up to betray her coy happiness.

And when she spotted the thumbs up thrown at her by her teammate from across the board, she lifted a hand to tuck back an errand lock of tangled hair, blushing. Affirmation wasn't something she was used to. At home and at school, excellence was the expectation. To achieve it just meant that you weren't incompetent, but it wasn't necessarily praise-worthy. She really didn't know how to respond. Instead, she just darted a quick little wave then returned her sights upon her adversaries, ready to receive and dodge whatever came next.

ROUND 4

Damion had been lucky enough to get a chance to finally attack someone. He took out his wand and cast the Tarantallegra Spell with the right wand movement, that was making a slight zig-zagging motion. then loop, make a sharp left, and zig-zag downward. He was casting the spell on the person who diagonal to Damion's left. He was really hoping that the spell would hit him. He had practiced the spell many a times now.

He had missed. Unfortunate, but not disastrous. Annoyed he wiped his face, then looked at his cloak, a disgusted look on his face. Yes, this would need cleaning later. Well... later.
Theo focused on the blackhaired girl again. She had been hit by quite an amount of spells now, it was clever of her to focus on dodging, but that was alright. What Theo lacked in physical strength, he made up for with his spell casting skills and he was also quite alright at aiming. That girl couldn't dodge his spells forever, could she?

Sh*t. Mars gritted their teeth as their spell followed Jack's, sailing nimbly past the other team's Queen. Blowing out a breath, they straightened up, brushing a hand through their sweaty hair.

"Forget me being twinkle toes, that prize goes to Ms. Ballerina over there," they called to Rett. The Ravenclaw laughed, shifting their stance and looking up again. The grin had already found its way back to their face. God, they'd forgotten how good it felt to cast. Pure power at your fingertips, a smiling threat, and now—it could actually be weaponized.

The next round was fast approaching. It seemed that this one, everyone had gone unscathed. Even Dee was no longer on fire—so, their American Princess had actually been useful.

Mars flipped the wand in their hand, readying another spell. There was nothing else to do, right? Faintly, San's words registered in their ear, and they turned, seeing that the Black Bishop had neared their side.

Grinning, they gave him a wave. "Hey there~" they called, "Gonna set me on fire? Kinda boring, no?" Fire, fire, it was always fire around here. Mars had to agree with their teammates—have some originality. Shaking their head, they turned away from him. No time for distractions.

If he were honest with himself, the prefect understood that he didn't have much of a chance to perform and cast the spell accurately. Jack was probably the most surprised that he had actually managed to cast that spell. A huff of frustration came from the boy as he watched the small girl hop around like a toad in a thunderstorm. Exactly three emotions crossed the boy's face; Amusement, aggravation, and determination. It was an odd cocktail of emotions, but hey kids are weird. There was almost a moment when he didn't notice the second spell that was slung towards the black team's queen. Glancing back towards Mars and then the rest of his team, Jack called out, "How about a bet, you guys? Ten sickles for the first person to hit the breakdancer!" Nothing like a little bit of a bounty to inspire his team to deal some damage! Whipping back around, he let a crazy-eyed look fall down upon Greta. " Next time I will not miss."

Adonis cared little for Dealla’s words about ‘trying harder’. He wouldn’t give in to her taunting and show his heart in his sleeve, or face at least. Tomato tomatoe. Same thing to him. A sense of style was also the last thing on his mind right now as well. He was simply focused on one objective instead of trying to be fancy be about it. Once again, he got into position and readied himself to do whatever that would come next in his decision making process.

Amazing! Everyone on both teams chose to go on the extreme offensive and it was quite a match! The players on Team Black were definitely aiming for a specific Team White player, but sadly, only one player managed to get their spell off and connect with the lad. Dealla ended up getting burned once again by Adonis, but her spell connected with Damion so even though she wasn't able to dodge that blasted Incendio, she did manage to knock her opponent square on his back! It would take Mr. White a whole turn before he could get up to cast again. And that was if the opposing team didn't try to hit him while he was down.

Team White had better get together to try to save their staggering friend. Dealla Prince didn't look like she would last for another round. The players of Team Black had a better chance of survival right now but that didn't mean that they would win. It was still possible for either team to lose their queen. Strategy is key here. Or...is going out with a bang the more apt situation for the upcoming round?

As soon as Dee had cast the spell, she'd known that this was a good one, felt it deep in her chest. Sometimes you just knew it - sometimes the magic sang to you, flowed like an invisible melody through your body and out of your wand. Sometimes, a spell worked just right.

Sadly, she had much less focus for aiming than she had for casting, seeing as there was an Incendio coming her way - again. Between an attempt at dodging and an attempt at aiming, she managed to do neither properly. Her spell set off, perfectly cast but not perfectly aimed, and didn't hit her target quite right - but the potency was still there, and he was knocked a step back and to the floor.

Dee didn't have any time to gloat about it, though, as Adonis' spell was aimed much better than her own. "Merlin's checkered underpants!" she cursed as her shirt was, once again, set on fire, then immediately shot a glower at Everett, although there was less spirit behind it than before. "Before you say anything, Princess - I saw perfectly well that your spell missed, so don't tell me you could be doing more useful things than extinguishing me."

Part of her wanted to chime in on Jack's proposal of a bet, or throw another taunt at the opponents - or her own team, both worked just fine - but being set on fire a third time was starting to get to her. The burns were stinging more with each passing second, and she could feel the exhaustion coming on as her body was demanding time and rest to recover. She knew that taking another hit would most likely mean that she was out of the game, so she just gritted her teeth instead, and pulled herself together for the round to come.

So... What should she do? Extinguish the fire eating at her? Try to stay in the game for another round? Or go out with a bang?

She had been hoping as the blue light left her wand and connected with Thomas that he would have moved back a square and away from Mars. Sadly that didn’t happen, but damage was done none the less. She could be happy with that as she slid to the left like she was apart of a Cha Cha Slide dance line to dodge the familiar blue light from Theo’s wand.

When Dee made an exclamation about Merlin’s checkered underpants a bell-like laughter rang came from Santario. “Dee, sweety, do you have something to tell us about how you know what Merlin’s underpants look like?” She reached up to wipe a tear from her eye that had come from laughing. “At least our Princess is in this castle since it seems like you can’t dodge. Girl this is not the time or the place for a bbq.” It was a dig but it was said light heartedly.
