Ah, gotcha.Elaine Pendrast wrote: 16 May 2022, 20:12ReducioYour discussion shows one of the points why the main story was dropped: everyone had their own expectations for it, and it was impossible at the time to make people happy. A lot of different people wanted a lot of different things. Many of those weren't compatible, some not feasible, and others simply outside the scope of what Lear, as the one person running all of it, was able and willing to provide. This was a full-time job, basically.
The Hexiwizard Tournament is one way to bring back certain aspects of the main story in a different style/system that includes more people. The scope is bigger, but at the same time, other aspects are toned down to make it still possible to moderate it without having to invest all of our free time into it.
(If you would like other rewards for the house cup, please make suggestions. We went with what players at the time said they were interested in / what me had seen players enjoy.)
Yeah, I'm fine with how things are going right now anyway!
My thoughts were just on IF the main storyline was being brought back, that's what I would think.
Also, for rewards for the House Cup, some random thoughts of mine!
I think most of these you've already done, but I'm just saying def repeat these rewards!
- Money
- Pets (of your choice)
- Brooms
- Planning for summer camp, spring ball, fall ball
- I kind of want there to be a separate planning committee for a Halloween ball. I know it's sometimes included in the Fall Ball but it's not really the THEME of it. Or else it would be called the Halloween Ball and not the Fall Ball. Yes, Fall Ball encompasses the fall and Halloween stuff if I understood right, but I don't think the main theme of it is Halloween, I think it's fall thus why it's called Fall Ball. What my idea was is having an actual Halloween themed event ball or celebration or party etc...

Another reward suggestion: flying horse racing event when beauxbatons comes over? With consolation prizes possibly.
Easter egg/treasure hunt event for sweets. I remember I modded an 'official' one for gryffindor back in the day (2018/9).
Kim, the prize winners gets to decide on the ball themes and what to do with them.

- Oooo I like the flying horse racing event w/Beauxbatons! Actually, maybe you could do like 5 different rewards, one for each foreign school (Beauxbatons, Mahoutokoro, Durmstrang, Ilvermorny & Koldovstoretz). Would be lots of fun and would be lots of different things!Aurelia Notrésvace wrote: 17 May 2022, 01:17 Another reward suggestion: flying horse racing event when beauxbatons comes over? - Planning committee for an Easter egg/treasure hunt event for sweets, sounds good too! Although wouldn't this be part of the Spring Ball celebration? Easter takes place in the spring. If Halloween is part of the Fall Ball celebration, wouldn't Easter be part of the Spring Ball celebration?

So according to the FAQ:
The daily routine (excluding the weekend) would look like this:
7:00-9:00 — Breakfast
9:00-12:00 — Classes
12:00-13:00 — Lunch
13:00-16:00 — Classes
16:00-18:00 — Free Time
18:00-20:00 — Dinner
20:00-22:00 — Free Time (for younger students curfew is at 21:00)
The above is what the FAQ for Hogwarts the daily schedule says it is.
But a lot of people tend to rp taking different classes at different times. As a result, a lot of other players end up getting confused as to when said classes are and which classes they are. So we all decided to see what you guys would think of possibly putting up an announcement sometime about class schedules being set for each year. The homework is set for each year, so IC they should be too.
For 1st years:
Is it possible to make a class schedule that all 1st years have to follow where they are all taking the same class at the same time period, so no one gets confused anymore? Like, all 1st years have to take mandatory classes (that appear on your report card) but these classes all take place at the same time period for everyone.
So you can say that your character went to Charms class at 9AM which lasted from 9AM-10:30AM, as the FAQ states that each class is around 1hr30m except for Potions which is double the amount. And you will know the other 1st years would also have been in Charms class and not say Transfiguration class at the time instead.
For 2nd years:
Obviously as a 2nd year your class schedule would change as new classes are offered. But it would be nice if they had a class schedule setup too that people can follow.

Yes, but I don't think anyone knows about this OOC/IC-wise, at least it doesn't seem that way?Opeila Winters wrote: 24 May 2022, 21:25 There is a schedule for Astronomy as far as I am awareIn the classroom forum. Also electives are offered in third year.
And it's only for Astronomy, it's not for any of the other classes.
Which is where a lot of people end up getting confused apparently, as some people post they are coming out of Charms class at 10:30am but other people are posting coming out of Transfiguration class at 10:30am but then end up saying they were in Charms class with the other person at the same time, which doesn't make sense as they said they were in Transfiguration at the time. I think it's because we don't have a set schedule as to when each class takes place at what exact time. So people just randomly post random classes at random times and then switch them around in their next post because they forget since there's no set schedule for classes and their times. Like there is the schedule listed above I showed but it doesn't say WHAT class is at what time, just 'classes' in general.
You know what I mean?

Personally, I believe the reason it is vague is because it would be incredibly tough to establish an IC schedule for every year, especially given electives that come into play in later years. Keeping the timetables as just "classes" allows for creative liberties so that people can say they're in Charms on a day that they want to roleplay a specific plot, rather than having to check the schedule everytime they do a class roleplay. Sure, it means that two different roleplays might say they are in two different classes when technically they should be in the same one, but that's a part of having such a huge community. It also means we as staff/moderators do not have to enforce them. Us having to read through roleplays and then double-check that each class you're roleplaying is set at the appropriate time would be a lot to moderate.Kim Sato wrote: 24 May 2022, 21:34Yes, but I don't think anyone knows about this OOC/IC-wise, at least it doesn't seem that way?Opeila Winters wrote: 24 May 2022, 21:25 There is a schedule for Astronomy as far as I am awareIn the classroom forum. However, if you have a timetable for all the years that you'd like to propose, we could definitely forward it to staff for consideration.

Ah gotcha.
But sure, if you do decide to implement it, I can definitely help out if you want?
How do I find a list of all the classes available for all the years?
Is there a forum for that where it's listed?
Can I access it through my report card for all the years, even though I'm a first year?
Thanks for responding!
