I was born right outside the big city. Early life, living around a lot of other people, saw me getting a lot of attention and strange feelings for and from others. This constant emotional overload made it difficult for me to focus on schoolwork or self-confidence.
This let my parents, having struggled themselves, understand how and why other children keep coming up to me trying to tell me their troubles and feelings. As a child, I have sought tried to find comfort and reassurance from them, but their inability to fully grasp this sensitivity led to frustration on both sides. After that I felt isolated, sensing their worries and emotions without a way to express my own.
My parents were both from pure-blooded families, but they liked to live outside of that, around non-magical people. They never explained why, but I always got the feeling that it started as a rebellion early on. They escaped the complexities, expectations, and often suffocating traditions of pure-blood wizarding society when they first got married. Having no say over their own lives. They stayed, I believe, because they liked the simplicity of living with muggles, one free from the pressures of legacy, status, and tradition.
My parents felt they were unable to provide me with the reassurance and comfort that I needed. They felt failure and the belief that sending me away was the only option for peace and growth.
Because of my unusual sensitivity and my parents feeling not equiped and maybe didn't want to deal with the complexities of magic any more, we started to drift apart. We all felt the drift, and I think then was a mutual decision was made to send me away. I was quickly shipped off to my grandmother in a small village up north, all nestled between forests and big hills.
My grandmother Thea here is known for her special potions and witchcraft. She is known as a herbalist. Grandmother provided me with a nurturing environment, where I could explore these gifts and find comfort with Nature. The forest have offered me a peaceful contrast to city life and allowed me to develop my talents in a more natural and harmonious way.
She taught me all she knows about plants and potions. With a natural affinity for plants, I quickly developed a love for herbology and potions. Dreaming of being the best potion mistress in the world, helping others.
On a day, while foraging in the woods, I stumbled upon a small, injured kitten. Its striking green eyes reminded me of myself. I took him back home and nursed the kitten back to health, naming him Jasper.

Four years ago, not far away from home, but far enough into the forest I found a patch of vibrant bluebell flowers. Excited I tried to reach out to touch the flowers, wanting to feel the magic that was radiating from them. When suddenly, a soft glow came from my hands. The flowers began to shimmer and their colors brightening as if responding to my touch. Its was right in this moment that I summoned a gentle breeze that rustled the leaves around myself and Jasper.
Finally the glow faded, my grandmother came out of the forest and informed me that I did my first magic.

Hi Seraphina, I'll be reviewing your application! Before we can accept, your backstory is missing some information. Could you explain who Seraphina's parents were, and what the troubles you mention were that led to her going to live with her grandmother? Could we have 220 words here on your personal history?
-Jake, Oct. 30, 2024
Status: PENDING:
Thank you for editing in more backstory. I still have a few questions however!
1. It's very rare for pure-blood wizards to live so close with muggles. The two worlds are often very separate. What made her parents have such an interest in living amongst muggles?
2. I'd still like a bit more detail about why she was sent off to live with her grandmother. You mention her parents being overwhelmed - how come they were overwhelmed? It seems they did have her go to the grandmother's because Seraphina was sensitive and empathetic - but without more detail it can seem a bit of a drastic reaction - could you explain a bit more what happened with Seraphina that made them want her to live with her Grandma?
Jake - November 8, 2024
Status: PENDING:
Thank you Seraphina, the application is improving, there's still a bit more detail we will need. Im sorry the process has been so slow, as you shouldn't have to wait more than ten days generally, and usually should be much faster. I was away but should have gotten back to you sooner.
Both portions of your app are improved, but I talked with other members of the team and I think we still need just a bit more justification for such big decisions as leaving pure-blood society to live with muggles and also sending their child away. But I will send you some tips over owl and we can discuss it, it is definitely much closer.

Hi Rosalind, I'll be reviewing your application! Just a few things to fix before we can accept.
1. Your stats currently add up to 27 - as a first-year human your stats should add up to 35. Can you adjust your numbers and adjust them both in this app, and in your trunk?
2. Your backstory needs to be 220 words on its own - at the moment it's just short at 217 words. Can you just say a bit about who her mother and father are? What does her father do?

Due to her mothes muggle heriatage and her fathers fascination with the muggle world, Sabrina grew up in a quiet neighborhood near the beach in England Brighton.
She had loving parents that tried to be there as much as they could. Still, due to their busy scheduels, Sabrina grew used to staying home alone since young age (around 7 years old) or being babysit by her grandparents.
She usually spend the time reading, or daydreaming of her own adventures with her friends.
At age six, she enrolled in a near by muggle primary school, a decision made by her parents. They wanted her to understand both the muggle and wizarding world, plus, her mother had fond memories of her own muggle school and wanted her daughter to experience the same joy she did.
She daily rode the bus there, quickly making friends with the kids that were taking the same route.
She was quick to meet people in general, enthusiasticly running up to anyone new with a wide smile and a stretched out hand, which didnt always have the most positive outcome.
She loved the school, her hands almost permanentky raised, the other holding a pen to take an excessive number of notes.
It is true that sometimes was a bit of a know-it-all, and could be considered a nerd, but that doesn't mean she's some goody-two-shoes.
Since she could recognize the letters of the alphabet, she had a book in her tiny. As previsouly, she enjoys fiction, but she also loves researching topics she takes interest in. One of said topics are the magical creatures, who she has been fascinated with for a long time now.

Sabrinas first accidental magic happened when she was 6 years old.
She was having a tea party with her stuffed animals under a table. In a fit of excitement she got up to bring more cookies, hitting her head.
In tears, little Sabrina wished there was more space, enlargening the table to twice its size, exciting her once more.
Her parents never changed it back, keeping it as a reminder of their daughters first magic.

2. Can you explain more about what you mean about Sabrina being home alone since a young age? Just make sure that your situation does not border on neglect, if she is too young somebody would need to be watching her. (I bring it up only because you mention this before the school section so I wasn't sure how young you intended her to be at this point).
3. You mention Sabrina enrolled in muggle school - that is something rare for wizarding children, so could you explain more about how this came about, especially since she does not have a muggle parent?

Character name : Sakura Kato
School Year or Adult Level: First Year

Character Statistics: Stamina - 6 | Evasion - 5 | Strength - 5 | Wisdom - 7 | ArcP - 8 | Accuracy - 4.
Character Backstory:ReducioSakura Kato is a bright and imaginative eleven-year-old girl with long, raven-black hair that frames her delicate face and sharp, inquisitive brown eyes. Her heritage is deeply rooted in her Japanese family, and she often feels a blend of her cultural identity and the peculiarities of British life. Despite her youth, Sakura possesses a fierce curiosity about the world around her and an innate affinity for magic, which she inherited from her wizard-born parents. She dresses up a lot tending to do fashion based outfits while still managing to look somewhat simple.
Sakura’s primary motivation is to prove herself as a capable witch, like her parents, especially since both her father and mother were notable students at Hogwarts and had impressive careers in the wizarding world. She longs to attend the school herself, where she can learn and explore the vast potential of her magical abilities. Additionally, with a brother, Haruto, who looks up to her, she feels a sense of responsibility to guide him through their enchanted upbringing, making it a personal mission to create a home where both of them can thrive in their familial and magical identity.
When Sakura was just three years old, her family moved from Japan to Newchurch, a small English town, for her father's job as a magical researcher. This transition, while rooted in opportunities for her father's career, left Sakura feeling a bit lost as she grappled with the changing landscape of her early childhood. Cultural differences and language barriers characterized her early years in England.
At age eight, she met Emily, a local Muggle girl who became her closest friend despite their differences. Emily’s openness and acceptance helped Sakura embrace her unique heritage and gave her the confidence to blend both her Japanese and British identities.
Last year, Sakura lost her maternal grandfather in Japan, a revered figure who was deeply connected to her cultural heritage. His passing profoundly impacted her, igniting a desire to honor his memory by connecting more with her Japanese roots through magic and family traditions.
Sakura has a close relationship with her parents, who have nurtured her magical upbringing. They often share stories of their wizarding days at Hogwarts, creating a sense of yearning in Sakura to experience the same adventures. However, Sakura's parents sometimes project their aspirations onto her, pressuring her to excel at witchcraft, which can create internal conflict.
Sakura has a strong sibling bond with her younger brother Haruto, who admires her and often seeks her advice. She takes on the role of protector and mentor, helping him navigate both the magical and Muggle aspects of their lives. Her initial protective nature has evolved into a more inclusive attitude, eager to show Haruto the wonders of magic while encouraging his individuality.
Sakura’s friendship with Emily is a cornerstone of her social life. Emily’s ability to bridge the gap between the Muggle and magical worlds offers Sakura a solid support system where differences are embraced. Their shared adventures often blur the line between the ordinary and extraordinary, allowing Sakura to explore her dual identity.
First Instance of Magic:ReducioIt was a little after her tenth birthday that her first instance of magic came. She had invited her friends over for tea. She was setting up the table in their backyard her mom helping. As she laid out the blanket across the table all she could think about was how excited she was. She danced around in excitement before there was a burst or light and shimmering butterflies suddenly surrounding her. She watched in awe before she heard the shattering of teacups and spun around to see her mom and father with shocked expressions.

Odette was born and raised in a very sheltered, privileged environment and the first few years of her life were largely uneventful. She lived in a large, country estate outside of Ross-on-Wye with her parents and live-in nanny, Rosanne 'Rosie' Tomas. She was homeschooled from the very beginning and was always vaguely aware of magic - Rosie, and her mother, Violette, occasionally used it around the house.
Her father, Alfred, however, was a Muggle from a distinguished, wealthy family of bankers and while he was aware of her mother’s magical proclivities, his family was decidedly not. As such, they were always careful when they came to visit, and their countryside residence served both as an isolation buffer and protection from the outside world.
As previously mentioned, Odette’s first few years of life were largely uneventful. That was until a few months before her sixth birthday when her mother suddenly disappeared. Violette was a French Witch who had been working as an Unspeakable for the Ministry – as such, the family was never granted any meaningful answers into her disappearance and in the Muggle world, all sorts of awful rumours followed them.
Alfred withdrew entirely from society and Odette’s already small world became even smaller.
It wasn’t long after her mother’s disappearance that Odette’s magic finally materialised. In her childish mind, this was proof that her mother had never intended to leave her and that a part of Violette lived on within her child. When Odette received her letter to Hogwarts, she was absolutely ecstatic – this was a solid connection to her mother and maybe, finally, she would be able to get some answers.

It was a few months after her mother’s disappearance, Odette had recently celebrated her sixth birthday – the first one she’d ever celebrated without her mother. Loneliness, feelings of abandonment, had stirred in her little heart. She had taken to sitting in the attic during her melancholier episodes, hidden away among her mother’s fine dresses, and was in the process of weeping – desperately wishing for her mother to come home – when one of the dresses reached down and wiped her tears. Odette promptly fell backwards in shock, watching with wide eyes as the dress returned to a slack piece of fabric on the hanger – as if it had never happened.

They all get along, and often hangs out in the backyard when they have the time in their busy schedule. He is an only child, which affected his social skills a bit, but happened to gain a small group of friends. Ziero gets along with his small bubble of people. His friends, his parents, and his tutor. His friends often came over to hang out. Planning pranks, or watch the stars at night, looking for constellations, or play with his cat, Pluto, were some of the things they usually did. His cat is a black and white tuxedo cat, who is always ready to play. Pluto always followed his family around, inside and outside.
Ziero was home-schooled with a great tutor, who also watched him when his parents were away. He wasn't very fond of the whole studying aspect. His parents cared about his grades, and asked for evaluations here and there, though not every week. Even though he isn't fond of studying, he is extremely stubborn, and won't quit until he finish.

CHARACTER BACKSTORY
Reducio
Cassian Andreus Grey was born into an old, respected Pureblood family with a rich history of magical prowess. Raised in the Grey family manor on the outskirts of London, she grew up surrounded by magic and the traditions of wizarding society. Her parents, Lucian and Celeste, were both highly skilled in their respective magical fields. From an early age, Cassian was taught the importance of discipline and caution, instilling in her a sense of duty to uphold the family’s legacy, but Cassian often finds herself caught between their ambitions and her own desires to discover the world on her terms.
Her childhood was filled with private tutors, books on magical theory, and lessons in etiquette. While other children engaged in games, Cassian preferred the quiet solitude of the manor's vast library, where she would lose herself in ancient texts, or stargazing sessions with her father, where the mysteries of the cosmos captured her imagination. Though born into a prestigious pureblood family, her most cherished friendship was with Evelyn Isolde Goode, a Muggle girl she met during her early years. Aware of her parents' disapproval, Cassian kept their bond a closely guarded secret. It was through Evelyn that Cassian learned to see beyond the narrow views of blood status, though she quickly realized the delicate balance required to navigate the social demands of her world without sacrificing their bond.
Though only in her first year, Cassian already feels the weight of her family’s expectations. She is determined to carve out her own path at Hogwarts navigating the complexities of friendship, house rivalry, and the ever-present shadow of her pureblood heritage. Despite the challenges she faces, she remains steadfast, guided by her own intellect and an insatiable curiosity about the world around her.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC
Reducio
Cassian’s first brush with accidental magic occurred on a quiet autumn afternoon when she was just eight years old. A small fire had broken out in the east wing of the family manor, sparked by a malfunctioning enchanted candle. The flickering flames quickly began to spread across the antique tapestry-lined walls, and though the house elves rushed to contain it, their efforts seemed futile. Terrified and feeling utterly helpless, Cassian stood frozen as the fire crept closer. But in her panic, something deep within her stirred. With a wave of uncontrolled magic, she summoned a torrent of water from the manor’s garden fountain. The water surged through the open windows, crashing into the flames and dousing them before they could cause any serious damage. The sight of the fire being extinguished so suddenly left the household in stunned silence, and it was then that her parents realized the extent of her latent magical potential. This realization has since made her wary of losing control.

On one spring night in March they were at a hospital in Glasgow. Screams and pants came from a room as she gave birth to a lovely baby girl with blue eyes like an ocean. Her cries and small fingers where a site to behold. They would eventually name her Maya Jones after Louises mother who had died a few years prior.
As time passed maya was getting older her hair was long and brown and she had a heavy Scottish accent. She was 4 and her Parents were already pregnant with another child. Sometimes she was happy other times she was sad she wouldn’t be the only child.
Her parents decided to move to Edinburgh after Louise got a great job offer which gave them more money and with Mayas potential of being a witch they wanted to support her. They packed up their life in Glasgow and moved. Maya found it hard moving away from her friends, her house, her life. But she was assured by her parents that she’d be happier in Edinburgh
Maya went to a public school for her studies in order to learn how to read, write and to make friends. She had a best friend called Ebby Williams who she always ate lunch with at this point Maya was 7 and her brother Timothy after her paternal grandfather was 3 in nursery. Maya and Ebby always spent time together. There was this girl called Lily Muller who bullied them both but the two girls both endured.
When Maya ´s parents realised she had magic potential they started to prepare her for her future. She had always had a fascination for plants but it really began to take fold here when she was 9 years old
When Maya got her letter for Hogwarts her parents now pregnant with their 3rd child were so ecstatic for her as was her brother Timothy who wanted to hear all about it everyday. She couldn’t shake her feelings as she jumped for joy and danced. For the rest of the week Maya was positively delighted.

I'm the only child of my parents Carter Hickories and Katerina Hickories née Moore but my father has quite a few siblings, both blood related and those he claims as siblings. I was born in Tullamore, Ireland but grew up in Birr, Ireland as it's where my Dad has called home for a majority of his life. My mum is English and currently she lives in Lavenham, England which means I don't see her all that often. She and my dad got divorced when I was real little but I honestly don't remember them ever living together and being happy about it. I stay with my mum over the summer and do the holidays with her on odd numbered years but sometimes she insists I just stay with Dad so she doesn't have to bother with travel.
I went to Mercy Primary School until about Fourth Class cause my birthday is rather late in the year. I'm always a year older than everyone else in my grade but that didn't stop me from making friends! I've got tons of muggle friends back home and I always make sure to write and send out letters to them on Wednesdays. I write to my dad on Fridays, that way he has the whole weekend to read them and respond. I tried writing to my mum once but she said the owl coming to her flat freaked the neighbours out and she got a talking to from her landlord so I always have to send her letters through the post which is so slow and boring.

Lydia's father, Carter Hickories, was a half-blood himself and always talked about the wonders of combining a magickal and muggle lifestyle. It came as little surprise to anyone in the Hickories family that Lydia would in fact be a magickal child but this wasn't confirmed until she was seven years of age. As a young child, and an only child at that, she often was used to playing by herself and creating elaborate storylines with her dolls and teddies alike. It was during one of these times, where she was pretending to host an elaborate ball, and while dancing and spinning with her favorite teddy, acting as though he were a foreign prince, that she began to ever so slowly lift up and off the ground and into the air. She only noticed this when her father entered her room and cheered so loudly that it caused Lydia to fall flat on her bottom. Carter was quick to phone the rest of his siblings, blood and not, to invite them for dinner to celebrate.

You don’t necessarily need to edit anything, but please be aware that this line “Lydia's father, Carter Hickories, was a half-blood himself and always talked about the wonders of combining a magickal and muggle lifestyle,” reads that Lydia’s lifestyle is essentially the “best of both worlds (technology and magic household) whereas I assume you mean living more modernly as a wizarding family. While Lydia is in fact a witch, please know that muggle technology and magic cannot co-exist because magic has too high of a frequency to allow electricity/technology to be used in a household. Since she is a halfblood, Lydia’s lifestyle would more so resemble a muggle’s with technology than a wizarding family (this would be a wizardborn — which is essentially a non-pureblood witch/wizard that lives in a strictly magic household opposed to modern technology like a halfblood/muggleborn.
If you need to change your blood status to wizardborn, please edit your form to state this in the question regarding profile card. Otherwise, simply send an owl to confirm you understand. Thank you!

Gemini’s father and mother (Jay and Amy Johnson, respectively) took a homeschooling approach to his education, in order for him to learn about both the wizard and muggle sides of most situations (he’s a half-blood, with his father as a wizard and mother as a muggle).
Gemini was an only child, and made friends with a boy named Jacob (muggle), who lived across the street (Gemini’s family lived in a landed neighbourhood with semi-D housing). He spent a lot of time learning American Sign Language (ASL) and fishing for hobbies as well as the usual academic subjects. He also plays a little of both muggle and wizard chess.
His father is a pure-blood wizard, but always had a certain amount of openness to the muggle ways, despite his heritage. He works as an Auror and is frequently away, but always finds time to spend with family and friends. Gem’s mother is a muggle who works as a librarian, and always brings home interesting books for Gem to read. She, of course, spends more time with Gem than his father, being at home more often.. Both his parents always taught him to try and see situations and people from all sides, and try and imagine being someone else, and all that has made him very observant, and not as oblivious to the muggle or wizard influences in the world as some other students.
