FAQ — Questions
Not sure if this question has been addressed somewhere, but here it is:

For special abilities, the ones I'm currently interested in are 5th year and above. Is it possible for me to not claim any special abilities until I reach 5th/6th/7th year (real time) and then stack up on all my special ability slots at once? And if so, can all these abilities be from higher-year levels? Like, if I wait until 7th year to claim any special abilities, can I then choose seven abilities (for my Human character) that require 5th year and above to learn?

FAQ — Questions
The system was not really intended for someone to forego abilities (for multiple years) leaving themselves under-powered for years only to take on more powerful skills later on making them proportionately more powerful than the other users. This would have to be something that is ultimately discussed with the staff team because it is an answer I am not capable of giving a finite answer on this because we are in a very early stage of development.

FAQ — Questions
Concerning abilities like the Prodigal Charms/DADA/Potion/etc Learner, I'm a bit confused.

So I understand that to learn whatever we qualify for a year ahead, we have to write the 400 WC thread. But the wording of what happens in our current year has me confused.
How does this work? You will know all the available [material] for the coming year from the syllabus in the...class.
So does that mean that by default we are able to claim knowledge of all of our current/previous years spells/potions/etc that applies after having the ability accepted, or do we also need to write the 400WC thread for all of the material we want to claim from current/previous years as well as the next years material?

Sorry if that's worded in a weird or confusing way.

I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

FAQ — Questions
Been staring at this question with confusion.

I think the question is -- does this give you access to the previous years spells (such as year 1) when you are a later year (like year 3).

The answer is NO. Homework is an optional system, meaning that you can access your spells one of three ways.

1 - By doing the class, getting graded. Once complete you will have access to the spell. Does this mean you can spam letters and words and get all Ts and get all the spells for the year upon completion? No. Most professors will send back an assignment that has put no effort into it, especially if it looks like an attempt to 'game' the system. If it is a consistent thing I will probably be removing their access to the homework system (but honestly that has thankfully never happened).
2 - By graduating for the year. By graduating from year 1 to year 2 or 2 to 3 and so on, you will gain access to all the spells taught for the year. Some might ask what is the advantage of doing the homework in the first place. The answer is earlier access to those spells. Also, it gives players House Points and bragging rights.
3 - By using the Prodigal Series of Spells. By doing these, you can gain spells even earlier and can avoid the homework assignments entirely if you do not enjoy the homework system and just want to RP your learning. Some people do not want to do the homework OR wait a full year, this is basically another means of learning for those users.

I have a few questions about what you’ve stated here... from what I understand, even if the previous homework have not been done, we will still be able to add the spells to our trunk. Is that right?

How about potions? Does it apply the same way?

The short answer: yes regarding spells.
I will write out something clean and inclusive in the next few days. That is the problem with fast development on an active site, communication can be hard.

As for potions, probably but potions is under development still so I do not have a good answer.

Salutations!

I've had some trouble with changing my profile picture, I'm not quite sure if it's because you're not allowed to or something else, but whenever I attempt to, it says "Temporary folder could not be found or is not writable". Image(s) are in the correct dimensions and aren't anything aside from .png or jpeg/jpg files. Here's the picture that proves that!
The same issue is happening with my sister, who is currently in the process of being accepted and such. (User is Charlotte Marie Mahr). She's unable to upload a profile picture at all, no matter the medium we try to upload it on. Any help would be awesome, thanks so much!

What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn't happen much, though.

Hey!

It looks like there's something going on with the site, but give it some time and our tech wizards will get to it.
