ok so here's a little thing about my backpack through the years. When I was in high school we were required to have mesh bags. I'm a little suprised they didn't tear tbh. I never used lockers, so I put my books in my backpack. Never even used the books after 9th grade english tbh, so really all that was useless.
So until I graduated high school, I just had the books in my bag + my chromebook + charger + a pencil + more batteries for my cochlear- the ones that require a certain battery inside of the battery sleeve (it isn't rechargable like I usually have it, it's more or less was reserved for emergencies) and then my scripts for theater.
What did I actually use out of everything in my bags? My scripts and my chromebook + charger. That was it. I could've literally just lugged those stuff around without needing to have the books on hand.

In college, since most of the assignments were online, I only brought my laptop. There were a handful of things that needed to be done on paper or with a pencil, so I had a pencil and a few scrap pieces of paper, but usually I had the pencil in my pocket and paper packed in my laptop as it was closed, like it was a folder. I didn't carry the charger or anything unless I was staying the full day- or in other words, more than 4 hours.
So no, I didn't need a bag.
