Bug Fix

It appears that our Parse Error bug has been fixed. A thank you to Zach for his continued hard work and efforts. If you continue to get the parse error, please send me an owl with screenshots and as much information as possible regarding where you were on the site and what you were doing to see if we can figure it out. We think it is fixed completely.

In addendum, there has been a bug with the rememberall. This bug included inconsistent notifications for some and a failure to send the link-reminder for users to vote on Top RP Sites. This bug appears to be fixed as well. If it is not fixed, again please reach out with as much information as possible on the matter.

Art Gallery

We're pleased to announce that the Kitchens (an unused area of the Leaky Cauldron) has been changed into an OOC Art Gallery area for all of you incredible artists out there, so you can show off your great works. All of the Artober threads from the past have been moved into here and the new Martch Challenge coming soon will be hosted in there.

Players will be allowed one thread to use as a 'Gallery', where they can show off their art in any forms (drawing, coding, pottery, cooking etc). Before you make a thread, please read the rules for this section.

This should go without saying but just in case - all art must be your own, everything should be PG13 and all other site rules apply to this area. You may leave comments on people's stuff but be nice and keep it relevant to the art. It's not a place to spam the chat.

As a fun activity, for the month of March, we have provided our resident artists with art prompts. We have revised our original 'Artober' (now also known as 'Martch') to include four different categories, whilst including as many art forms as we could (food, for instance, will be included as prompts under the others). Most of the efforts are considered to be out of character. However, there is an opportunity for one of the prompts in each category to be considered in character - which will be explained on the specific prompts - and an IC-published 'Recipe Book'. This is simply a way to express ourselves, have fun and show off our talents.

There will be FOUR categories - Coding, Writing, Graphics (inclusive of photography, collages etc) and Other (inclusive of drawing, painting, sculptures, digital etc). You can participate in a few or do them all, that is entirely up to you!

iNPC Applications and Updates are Again Open!

All six schools are open and available for application. Please remember that we have five schools participating in the Hexwizard Tournament. Some of these schools have open positions due to roster changes but you might be able to waitlist with some of them still. We also have the Spring Ball coming up this April (save the date to be soon announced) which all of the schools will be in attendance for.

To make an iNPC, participate in the hexwizard game, in a sport or partake in the ball this spring, your character must be registered with Index. If you are not registered with Index, please do so now. You will need to be registered if you wish to have an iNPC.

For those updating their character, please make sure that you link any sport wins every time that you update your stats. We need them because it is very hard for us to go back and check them so we will not approve any updates without relevant links. In addition, for those updating your characters - please remember that your updates cannot contradict things that you have said, done or narrated in character. This is important for narrative consistency. Finally, you only get one iNPC so do not rush it and make sure that you are happy with what you make.

Applications will remain open until April 10.

Prepare your best flowers, bells or most refined armour and join the Court IC on April 21st (OOC April 1st) for dancing by the waters edge, enchanting gardens and the upcoming jousts! So, what are you waiting for?

Potions Lesson Updates

Dear first years! As previously announced, your Potions lessons have been slightly updated. For most of them, the content and homework remains the same, except for Lesson 3: The Art of Healing and Lesson 4: Mind-Altering Potions. If you have started doing either of these assignments but not handed them in, please make certain to re-check your homework!

Next up: Second years! Your lessons will be updated on 26th March (in two weeks). This impacts the content and homework questions for Year 2, Lesson 1 and Year 2, Lesson 2. If you have started doing these homework assignments, please finish and hand them in ASAP. If you haven't, I recommend you wait for the new lessons.

Ami Procoppio will be joining the professor team as our new Flying Professor, Felix Lin. Ami is a well-tenured user, well-liked and well-third adjective. She has previous experience as a captain of both the Racing and Quidditch teams and we look forward to seeing her passion for brooms in this new role. Please thank Lavinia Cloven/Miriam Stube for her hard work as she will be retiring to do whatever broomfolk do.

Hogwarts' Easter break this year is IC from Sunday April 2nd to Sunday April 16th this year (they leave on Sunday morning, arrive back Sunday evening). During this time, your character can stay at the castle without classes OR return home for the entire break. Please be consistent when writing your character during these dates.

iNPCs from Ilvermorny, Durmstrang, Beauxbatons, Mahoutokoro, Koldovstoretz and Castelobruxo are invited to join Hogwarts in April for the Spring ball and the second trial of the Hexwizard Tournament. They will arrive at Hogwarts the evening of Sunday April 16th, and they will be leaving the morning of Sunday April 30th.

The second hexwizard task date has not yet been decided, but it will fall somewhere between these visit dates and will be announced soon.

The spring ball will be happening IC Friday April 21st which means iNPCs will be able to attend. (OOC the ball will be posted on April 1st)

During their visit, iNPCs will reside in the campgrounds as before. There are no specific tents or cabins but assume that each school stays in their own accommodation or cabin, and you can't visit other dorms.

Please remember to abide by our forward-dating rules: you may not forward date threads by more than one month. We are announcing these dates now so that you can plan for the future and the ball, but this does not mean you should be breaking our forward-dating rules.

Also remember our rules regarding iNPC usage: you should not be roleplaying any unapproved iNPCs or unapproved application points, and you need to follow the posting guidelines outlined here: viewtopic.php?t=16915#inpc

Today is National Hufflepuff Day. A day to celebrate all things badger-related. You will notice that the common rooms now have a cozy Hufflepuff atmosphere. The discord has also changed temporarily for all house user groups, so enjoy the new warm tones.

So enjoy a cup of cocoa or tea and a warm fuzzy blanket.
