Jay had seen posters up all around the school about this party of sorts on the twenty-second of September. Maybe she just wanted something to do, maybe a distraction from school, or she was curious about what the Fall Equinox was to the wizarding world, but she decided to go. Much to her own surprise.
She knew it was to celebrate the harvest season, she and Sunny had celebrated it every year in their own way, just the two of them. That had been a while ago. That had been before Jay had gone to Hogwarts and all the family drama with both her parents had started. Maybe this could take her mind off the sheer amount of letters from her father that were piling up on her desk. Shaking her head in hopes to push all thought of that topic out of her head, she thought about what food to make for this party and how to get it.
With high hopes for this little event, she quickly chose to make some brownies to bring, they were simple and hard to mess up so it was unlikely she would have to remake them even if they turned out a little odd so there wouldn't be a problem with doing it short notice since she hadn't had much time to plan for this.
She decided to use a recipe her mum had taught her, not that she had ever tried them herself, she despised sweet flavors too much to try it and these brownies were apparently, according to Sunny, very, very sweet, they used white chocolate and normal baking chocolate to create a sort of marble effect on the brownies, they certainly looked cool even if Jay had no intention of eating them.
Once her classes ended, Jay made her way down her common room to get changed into warmer clothes since, if she had some, why not? She also hated the uniform and wasn't keen on wearing it any longer then she had to. Once she finished up, Jay slowly walked towards the grounds, looking for her ferret along the way, she hadn't seen him pop his head out to say hello at all today, usually he would skitter up in her direction a few times during the day. Now that she was thinking about it, Nacho was probably hiding away from the cold down in the common room, curled up next to the fireplace. Just as that thought crossed her mind, and exceptionally chill breeze hit her and Jay shivered on the spot.
