At first it was his gaming console, but after finding out he was a wizard it's his wand.- What is your character's deepest insecurity?
His fear of rats, spiders, bats and frogs. Most of the other boys in his class at his muggle primary school had little to no fear for these small, harmless animals, but even looking at them gives him anxiety. It became worse when he finds out wizards and witches have almost no fear for them and even keep them as common pets.- What motivates your character?
The fact that there will always be something for him to learn, it encourages him to keep learning as there is no limit to knowledge and wisdom.- What angers your character?
He is very kind and loves to help others, and becomes angry if people take advantage of his helpful nature. He also becomes angry with himself when he fails a task or fails a school assignment.- What makes your character happy?
Playing video games with his friends. He also enjoys spending time with his family. He also becomes very happy when he succeeds in a task, whether it's school related or not.- What does your character like about themself?
It would probably be his ability to read fast when he is motivated and deeply interested in a book, or his hairs tendency to keep itself naturally neat so he does not have to comb it that often.- How is your character's relationship with their family?
His relationship with his family is generally good. He is closest to his grandmother, and has very close relationships with his mother, and younger sister Morgan. His relationships with his grandfather and his other younger sister Hailey are good. His relationship with his father is more complicated, because he does not spend that much time with Josh as he works long hours and is always in a bad mood at home from exhaustion, but he still loves and cares about his dad.- Is your character susceptible to peer pressure?
Not at all. He is not afraid to say no or back out of something he does not want to do, and will stand up for himself if people try to take advantage or bully him.- What annoys your character the most?
Mainly people disrespecting and abusing books and animals (that he is not afraid of). He also gets annoyed by arrogance, obnoxiousness and pride, as well as people asking him to copy his homework or other school work.

He starts to tap his foot on the ground repeatedly when he is deeply concentrated on something. He also hums when he is enjoying or is interested in something. He also has a habit of zoning out, as sometimes he starts thinking about something completely unrelated to whatever he is doing and will usually stare into thin air when he does this.- Describe your character's typical first impression
Peoples first impression of him is a shy, nerdy boy who always has his nose in a book. He also comes off as anxious when meeting new people as he feels uneasy when meeting people who he does not trust yet.- Describe a recurring dream for your character:
A distinct dream that he has every once in a while is about him owning a time machine and using it to travel back in time to witness historic moments and events in person, and meeting famous and historically important people who died way before he was born.- Describe your character's morning/nightly routine
Morning - Josh wakes up very early (6-7 A.M). When he wakes up, the first thing he does is make his bed, and then throws a cloak/hoodie over himself. He then brushes his teeth, and has breakfast. He showers after eating, and after showering he spends the rest of his morning free time outside, usually studying and observing snails and beetles. (He only reads this early in the morning if the book or topic is really interesting, or if it has to do with class)
Night - Josh starts his night routine around 8 P.M, after having dinner. He first changes into his night clothes, and then usually spends two hours reading, completing unfinished homework, or studying. He does this until he feels tired, and at this point will properly pack away all of the books and materials he was using, and then brushes his teeth for the night. He then sleeps for the day, and starts the same uninterrupted routine the next day.- Describe the contents of your character's bag
His bag is probably more cluttered than his mother's purse. While he keeps stuff other people see such as his dorm, bed, and appearance neat, his bag is a complete mess. He keeps every single one of his books in his bag (even if he doesn't need them in a class that day), unorganized notes, and crumpled up pieces of parchments from errors he makes when writing (he forgets to throw them away). He also keeps other clutter such as quills, doodles, ink bottles, candy wrappers, and his remembrall in his bag.- Describe how your character wants to be seen
Despite being a nerdy bookworm, Josh doesn't like this label for himself or the only way people see him. He wishes to be seen as adventurous, funny, warm spirited and a good friend - all things that he is but are hidden beneath his shy, awkward exterior.

His unwillingness to tell anyone no in fear of rejection, inevitably leading to him figuratively setting himself on fire to keep people warm. He needs to learn how to accept himself for who he is and that he isn't a failure if things don't always work out.

Best: Hanging out with his grandparents at Christmas and learning to play guitar from his granddad while snuggled up with their golden retriever by the fire
Worst: His grandparents passing away within a few months of each other
What is your character's biggest fear?
Even the possibility of his parents someday getting a divorce and it somehow being his fault

Positive interpretations? Nervous at first, then incredibly warm and loyal, surprisingly funny and charismatic when he wants to be, the mom friend.
Negative ones? A doormat. A try-hard. Overly sensitive.

His grandfather's guitar, followed by the sweater his dad let him borrow to take to Hogwarts.
What is your character's deepest insecurity?
That he's disposable and that people will think he's a disappointment and leave unless he's useful.
What motivates your character?
He wants to feel like he's everything for everyone and needs to learn that that's impossible. Eventually, he'll realize he can be strong and supportive without being a doormat, and that saying no means that he can be loyal to himself.
What angers your character?
Cruelty, arrogance, abuse of power, ingratitude, exploitation, chaos, needless conflict, hypocrisy, and just generally people being fake. He doesn't scream or throw fits. He retreats, slams a door, and hides himself away.
What makes your character happy?
Being comfortable, quiet one-on-one time with a friend, other people being happy, being in nature, hugs, puppies
What does your character like about themself?
He likes the color of his eyes but he'd be too shy to ever tell anyone that. He knows he's smart and competent, but would never brag about it. He likes that he can get a good read on people. He likes that he's adaptable and eventually will discover that he does have a quiet sort of strength hidden deep, deep, deep down inside himself.
How is your character's relationship with their family?
Loving.
Is your character susceptible to peer pressure?
Very.
What annoys your character the most?
People being messy and loud, flakiness, forced small talk, people pretending to be helpless just so he'll do things for them. He doesn't snap or fight, but he does get a little passive-aggressive: pinching the bridge of his nose and sighing softly while giving an overly polite smile while his eyes are locked in a mild glare. Then he'll roll up his sleeves and try to fix whatever's wrong while radiating pure disappointment.

He speaks with a mix of London/Cockney accent since that's his dad's along with his mom's crisp received pronunciation accent when she's in reporter mode, with definite hints of Bristol in there, since that's what she uses at home and it's where he grew up.

His genuine smile is wide and dimpled, with crinkled eyes. He doesn't show his teeth while smiling all that often.
Describe your character's "tell" for lying
He doesn't lie often, but because he knows what people want to hear and has started picking up on social cues, he's not a terrible liar when he has to be. Here are some tells, though. He's noticed that people look away when they're lying, so he does the opposite and stares directly at the person without blinking.
Describe your character's mannerisms/habits
When he's in fixer mode, he rolls up his sleeves. He generally keeps a rather upright and dignified posture, but when people come to him to talk he relaxes and leans towards them ever so slightly to indicate he's listening. He's often gazing out the window, especially when he's cooped up inside. He also goes around and tidies up after people without making a fuss about it, just to reassure himself there's no chance of a huge mess piling up. He'll often tap his foot or run his hands over the wood grain in a piece of furniture. In conversations, he almost always speaks in a calm and measured tone of voice, occasionally interspersed with genuine enthusiasm when feeling engaged and if he can tell the other person is too.

Morning: Making his bed, slipping on a warm coat or sweater if it's cold, and making himself a cup of something warm to drink if it's chilly, or a glass of water if he's too warm. Pulling out his journal and planning out his day. He makes sure he's up early so he can use the bathroom before the morning rush. He cleans his face and showers and makes sure his hair isn't a complete disaster without worrying too much about it. He then heads to the common room and does some tidying up before breakfast. At the table, he'll check in with his friends to see if they need any help with their homework or just in general. Once he's older, he'll also do this with the younger hufflepuffs.
Night: Checking in with everyone to see if they need anything. He'll then retreat to a quiet place to decompress and play his guitar after pulling on some comfortable pajama bottoms and his dad's sweater. After a while, he'll make sure his wand is properly polished, along with his bed. He writes in his journal, lays back in bed, snuggling with his teddy bear while he reads a book before drifting off to sleep.
