Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky, No Longer Human by Osamu Dazai, 1984 by George Orwell, and The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. I also enjoy the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black and The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes.
