Thoughts: italicsKaitlyn gave Annette a kind and reassuring smile. “You don’t have to apologize, Annette. Don’t worry, I’m not mad at you. I promise, I still like working with you,” she replied to Annette, keeping her voice soft and quiet. While she was sure their classmates should be focused on their work, she didn’t want to openly embarrass Annette by shouting about the problems they were facing. That wouldn’t be fair to her friend, and it would openly go against what she personally believed in. As someone who had plenty of experience being unable to talk to others, she completely understood what it felt like.
When Annette announced their next step and visibly turned off both of their stoves, Kaitlyn giggled quietly. “Thanks, Annette,” she smiled to her friend. She picked up the remaining two porcupine quills and dropped them into her potion. “Stir clockwise five times, then wave your wand over the potion,” she recited. Picking up her spoon, she visibly counted her stirs. “1 … 2 … 3 … 4 … 5,” and then waved her wand over her potion. She turned to Annette, giving her a kind and reassuring smile. ‘I hope she’s not too hard on herself. In many ways, we’re alike,’ she thought.Reducio

"What a confusing potion.."
The languid girl said to herself while watching the swirl of her potion which she just realized had turned into a purplish blue color, which caught herself a little off guard. Her eyes opened as if in awe.
So cool..It's kind of pretty, she admitted. Like one of the fruit sodas she once drank. But she knew that it wouldn't taste as fresh. Several times she accidentally smelled the abundant liquid that was right in front of her, one of the consequences she had to endure in taking that lesson ( she couldn't imagine the other concoctions they would make for the next lesson ).
Not to the point of being 'deadly', but we can feel what was unfamiliar in it. Annette insisted not to gag in her mouth.
But if you think about it again, how does it actually taste? Her curiousity peeked out. She couldn't help herself. Heard it's called 'Cure for Boils'. A cure. It's a bit like medicine, isn't it?
So, can it be concluded that the taste will be as close as a bottle of cough syrup?
Woah..That must be it..!!
Annette was absorbed in herself. Reveling in her own bubble world as she picked up the ladle that was lying beside her gazes. She noticed that Kaitlyn, her partner, was already stirring the potion. She looked elegant while doing it..So the girl reluctantly burst her bubble and started to put her ladle's head into the hot liquid, stirring it. And oh yes, she needs to do it 5 times each.
Am I right?..Is this okay? Oh please don't suddenly explode in my face..How many times have I spun this ladle?- Ah, I'm done!
What she's doing would she stopped as she looked over. The potion is finished!...—almost! Maybe it was just in her imagination but their colors looked shinier every time she looked at them.
Now that it's over—Annette turned to Kaitlyn again—it was time for her to wave up her wand. Her hand grasped and pulled out a sprig of wood from behind her apron. It's brown, pointy and straight, then oh God, coated with grape ribbons and a chocolate frog charm. It looks like Annette has been trying to decorate her magic wand, it seems. She held it, pointed towards her cauldron. With a deep breath beforehand she swung it and let the magic happen.
...
There's no reaction. That's weird. She swore she had done it right. Annette immediately broke out in cold sweat, she didn't know what was wrong with her, and she started to panic.
There's no way Annette would call up her partner for this. Don't, even. Her individual will be threatened. But how can she solve this??..Until Annette noticed that the tip of her wand looked strangely blunter than usual. Oh, I'm holding it upside down.
She turned her wand upwards, and wave it up over her cauldron once again. Making the concoction bubbles and smokes bright pink that filled her table. Annette couldn't hide her smile. She saw Kaitlyn's potion reacts the same, so she thought it was something that needs to happen in the end.
Turning to look at her, she wondered if there's anything more they could do. In any way, it's possible they're still not finished.
"..Do we drink it?"

Thoughts: italicsWorking with this potion, especially with just how long the recipe said to brew it, Kaitlyn was rather used to the repugnant smell. While she enjoyed potion making, she had no idea how one was supposed to keep one’s senses intact despite such foulness so close by. ‘That’s probably something that will have to be learned with time … no doubt, not something two first-year girls should already know,’ she thought.
Kaitlyn’s blue eyes looked over at Annette, as her partner went to work stirring her potion. Five times. And then waved her wand …. and then wave her wand a second time. ‘Huh? What is Annette doing … I could have sworn she had to move her wand around before trying a second time … I hope that isn’t a sign of something bad happening,’ she thought, as her brow furrowed and she looked back at her own potion. ‘Minus an actual accident, how would we even know?’
Their potions bubbled and emitted pink smoke. ‘As cool as magic is, it is also really weird,’ Kaitlyn observed. She looked back at Annette at the question she asked, and tilted her head. “Drink it?” She asked. She looked at her own skin and shrugged. “I don’t have any boils … how would we even tell if our potions work?”Reducio
