Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 2
Delilah had missed by quite a large margin, which was fine, that happened sometimes. But she was glad to see hanakos wand be thrown from him. And even happier to see both opponents spells fizzle out before that. It really was satisfying seeing your team doing better than the opponent, even if it was only by a small margin.

Effects: 1 Round has been removed from Expelliarmus. Hanako has picked up his wand!
Delilah seemed happy when Hanako's wand was thrown from his hand. She must've been happy, especially after she had failed to hit their team before (Though unbeknownst to Jake, Hanako had another theory for why Delilah's spell had missed). The loss of Hanako's wand though once again put the Slytherins at a disadvantage.
And when the wand DID leave Hanako's hand, his face sure changed quickly. The failures to cast and now the loss of his wand... For the first time, Hanako was quiet. Hanako looked upset, so Jake felt a little bad that he couldn't help but hope that maybe it meant he was gonna focus on dueling now (and not on making everybody as uncomfortable as humanly possible! Jake was really gonna have to ask if there was anything in the rules against love talk). Jake thought he could see the tiredness on Starlee's face too. She had been worn down by a lot of spells, and her failure to cast seemed to have gotten into her head. In that moment, Jake thought it looked like the Ravenclaw team was winning right now. The Slytherin team seemed shaken.
But how COULD you stand there in front of a fifth year like Delilah, and NOT get intimidated? The fifth years could do SO MANY spells. Now in his third year, Jake felt like he was finally getting the hang of non-simple magic, but he could never do what Delilah did next. Once again, she shot two spells out of her wand at the same time! Duel wind jinxes sending gusts across the platform, and clearing the platform of any remaining wisps of smoke that might have still remained.
With Hanako out of action, the Slytherin strategy seemed to be regroup. Starlee dipped and dodged out of the way. Maybe she knew that she could only take so many hits before she was out of the fight. As Delilah's Ventus swooshed past her, Starlee just made it out of the way.
Eun-ji, looking proud of herself after disarming Hanako (Jake would overlook her little 'Fetch' comment JUST this once, only cause Hanako WAS being really loud...) would turn her attention to the Slytherin girl. The Ravenclaw strategy was clear too. Take out the most tired opponent. Jake held his breath and watched as a knockback jinx flew in her direction, but Starlee was too quick for it and she dodged out of the way just in the nick of time.
While Starlee was dodging for her life, Hanako would dive for his wand, spotting it not too far ahead of him. If he could get it, then the Slytherins could regroup. Doing so made him vulnerable...but maybe he could pick it up before the spells hit him! But just as his fingers grasped it, he would feel the gust of wind from Delilah's wind jinx pushing him back, billowing through his robes and making it hard to stand. He hadn't been able to get to it in time.
Still, he would endure the gust, and his wand was now in hand. It wasn't too late to turn this around.
Oh yeah... "The duel is over halfway done!" Jake shouted hastily. He always forgot to do that.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 2

“Fetch”
Hanako scoffed bitterly while keeping up a strained smile, frankly both amused and irritated. “ I suppose I will~” he sweetly responded before taking what little time they had this round to snatch up his wand which fortunately wasn’t that far. Perhaps he was a bit too relieved about retrieving his wand back because not long after that, he felt a familiar sensation of Ventus spell taking effect on him. This spell will be the death of him, honestly. One highly effective and yet he was too lazy to learn about it.
One good thing about this round was that Starlee was still alive. You had to give it to her, she was quite a fighter. It’s been what? Like a few rounds since she’s been on the brink of passing out, and she still manages to go on? That takes some dedication. They may not win but no one- not even the ever-pessimistic Hanako- can deny her resilience. Got his wand back, a little damage but nothing too threatening, and his partner is still alive. Certainly a good time to smile a little, right?

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 2
Despite Tone being hindered by loosing his wand, Starlee knew she would end up the target of the round. He had to focus on finding his wand, while she was left to fend for herself. It turned out she had been quite right. She opted to not cast a single spell, and to focus entirely on dodging in the hopes that she would be able to last just that much longer.
She glared at her two opponents, having nothing now to hold herself back from her full concentration, aside from her fatigue. She notices Stewart's Ventus first, watching as it split in two towards Tone. Almost distracted by watching him get hit, she was close to doing the same to herself, but she managed to hop out of the way just in time. Hunt focused solely on Starlee, sending a knockback jinx her way. This one had been a bit easier to dodge, and she was grateful she was still standing. Unbeknownst to herself, she managed to smirk a bit alongside Tone. It felt good to last this long against two students, especially one that was so much older.

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 2
Starlee was slippery as an eel. She was clearly exhausted yet she still managed to dodge the spell. Not her first swift escape either. It was quite annoying but also somewhat admirable. Hanako wasn’t looking too happy at this point but the two of them were probably glad Starlee was still standing, which was understandable.
Arguably, The Ravenclaw team was doing better for now but Eun-ji didn’t feel like they were necessarily “crushing it”. At least she was not. Del was doing great. It wasn’t enough to discourage the witch however. If anything, she was determined to try even harder. They really needed to win this one.

Welp, that wasn't the most active round of spells, with only one of Delilahs splits hitting, which she was of course still thankful for. The only other thing that happened was Hanako getting his wand back. At this point Delilah was just fully focused on her spells, she was choosing to ignore what the other team were saying because she was worried about distractions.

Jake should have felt the tension in the air, as the duel barreled into its second half. He should have known that the slytherins, who had been on the ropes, were ready to mount a counter attack. That the Ravenclaws, with victory so close, might try to go for the kill. He still couldn't prepare himself for the chaos that followed.
Eun-ji, continuing right where Del left off, cast a Ventus spell of her own, and to Jake's amazement it split in two, just like Del's had. Whether she had done it on purpose or if it had just been brilliant luck he could never be sure, but it would beeline straight for the Slytherin team. Starlee would duck out of the way, still quick on her feet, though she would feel her energy waning - she could only run for so long. But Hanako, still in Delilah's gust, couldn't prevent this new one from continuing to push him back. It would take all his energy to not be blown off his feet.
The Ravenclaw momentum had to be shaken, and Starlee would see her opportunity. Tired as she was, she wasn't out yet, and Jake watched as she pointed her wand at Eun-ji. The fire-making spell hit its mark perfectly, and to Jake's horror, flames would catch on Eun-ji's robes. The momentary distraction gave Hanako his chance. Despite the gusts of wind, the knockback left his wand, and hit Eun-ji right in the chest. The onslaught would cause the Ravenclaw girl to stagger. The Slytherins were back in the fight!
But Delilah would see her opening, and with expert quickness she would take it. Her partner being bombarded by spells, Delilah would shoot her wand forward and the knockback jinx would head right for Starlee. She would see it coming, but there was only so long her body could go for. The spell was too quick, and she was too tired. The knockback would hit the Slytherin girl head on and drive her backwards, off her feet, and to the platform. She wouldn't get back up.
"Stop!" Jake would yell, as he often did, holding his hands forward. He didn't let spells fly when somebody was down. They had to be gotten to safety. No matter how many times he saw it, he never got used to this...He had hoped maybe the time limits would mean this wouldn't happen anymore...why did everybody like to duel so much when it always ended like this? But Starlee would be soon taken to safety, and the duel would continue, the Ravenclaws given a moment to regroup thanks to Del's well-aimed shot. They would need it, for the flames hadn't left Eun-ji's robes, and if they didn't go out soon, she'd be burned! Jake gritted his teeth and tried to stay strong.
Hanako was alone now against the odds... Could he do it?

Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 2

There were a lot of reasons why Hanako wished Jake Morris was nothing but a figment of his imagination. Mainly to save himself from the embarrassing memories of his breakdown in front of the Hufflepuff boy. But this time he’d find himself hoping he misheard when he heard Morris ‘s deafening “STOP”. He was hesitant and hesitated in looking in Starlee’s direction. Easier when there was still wind swirling around you, but that didn’t expel the all too obvious absence of his usually evasive partner.
Ew, what was this awful gut-wretching feeling in his stomach? He didn’t even like her. Whatever it is, he couldn’t even bring himself to joke about finally getting the Ravenclaw’s full attention now. Which was a big shame. Was this what Knight felt last match when he was knocked out? How particular.
He surprised himself by the new things introduced to him in all his 4 duels. The only thing constant thing is his opponents being total eye candies. Everything else was new. The sweet taste of victory. Bittersweet close wins. And now, a seemingly unreachable success alongside a fallen partner. It was rare that Hana didn’t appreciate being alone. Right now, as confused as he is, this was one of those moments.
Once again, he was scarily silent. Perhaps out of respect for Kennedy. Instead of focusing on her defeat, Hana thought she would appreciate being remembered as the one that withstood relentless attacks despite the odds against her for more than a few rounds. That itself was grand. Not something anyone can do, especially Hana. It was the least he could do. In secret of course!!! He’d rather swim with the giant squid than tell Kennedy that. Or anyone for that matter.
Decisions weren’t his strong suit, but there was an all too familiar instinct when he was like this. Confused, hurt, and close to losing. His mind wandered to the faces of the Slytherin team dueling captains, then Knights's weird worried face, then Starlee’s unconscious form in the hospital.
Good god, he was going to take the best nap after this.
With little options, he did what any annoying, attention-seeking, emotionally confused kid would do. Through the harsh Ventus winds, he gave the Ravenclaws his biggest flirty wink (despite how horrible or awkward as it must've looked with the wind spell) and signaled his hands into what muggles would understand as a ‘call me’ sign.

Hanako Tone
ReducioHanako Tone forfeits.
Well, it seemed like Hanako could not go on without his partner, Starlee. The bond between a duellist and their partner was sacred- well, unless he was flirting with the other side. How could one fight against true love? Hanako couldn't. So before Delilah and Eun-ji could get out a spell, Hanako signaled a forfeit. The end of the round was called, and that was it! The Ravenclaws came out of this one victorious.Ravenclaw Wins!
